1One-year clinical study of NeuroR egen scaffold implantation following scar resection in complete chronic spinal cord injury patients显示文摘The objective of this clinical study was to assess the safety and feasibility of the collagen scaffold, Neuro Regen scaffold, one year after scar tissue resection and implantation. Scar tissue is a physical and chemical barrier that prevents neural regeneration. However, identification of scar tissue is still a major challenge. In this study, the nerve electrophysiology method was used to distinguish scar tissue from normal neural tissue, and then different lengths of scars ranging from 0.5–4.5 cm were surgically resected in five complete chronic spinal cord injury(SCI) patients. The NeuroR egen scaffold along with autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells(BMMCs), which have been proven to promote neural regeneration and SCI recovery in animal models, were transplanted into the gap in the spinal cord following scar tissue resection. No obvious adverse effects related to scar resection or Neuro Regen scaffold transplantation were observed immediately after surgery or at the 12-month follow-up. In addition, patients showed partially autonomic nervous function improvement, and the recovery of somatosensory evoked potentials(SSEP) from the lower limbs was also detected. 2Warpage prediction of the injection-molded strip-like plastic parts显示文摘For most strip-like plastic injection molded parts,whose cross section size is much smaller than their length,the traditional Hele-Shaw model and three-dimensional model do not work well in the prediction of the warpage because of their special shape.A new solution was suggested in this work.The strip-like plastic part was regarded as a little-curved beam macroscopically,and was divided into a few one-dimensional elements.On the section of each elemental node location,two-dimensional thermal finite element analysis was made to obtain the nonuniform thermal stress caused by the time difference of the solidi fication of the plastic melt in the mold.The stress relaxation,or equivalently,strain creep was dealt with by using a special computing model.On the bases of in-mold elastic stress,the final bending moment to the beam was obtained and the warpage was predicted in good agreement with practical cases.Chaofang Wang Ming Huang Changyu Shen Zhenfeng Zhao 2016Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,5:9
3High power and stable P-doped yolk-shell structured Si@C anode simultaneously enhancing conductivity and Li^(+)diffusion kinetics显示文摘Silicon is a low price and high capacity ancxje material for lithium-ion batteries.The yolk-shell structure can effectively accommodate Si expansion to improve stability.However,the limited rate performance of Si anodes can't meet people's growing demand for high power density.Herein,the phosphorus-doped yolk-shell Si@C materials(P-doped Si@C)were prepared through carbon coating on P-doped Si/SiO_(x)matrix to obtain high power and stable devices.Therefore,the as-prepared P-doped Si@C electrodes delivered a rapid increase in Coulombic efficiency from 74.4%to 99.6%after only 6 cycles,high capacity retention of-95%over 800 cycles at 4 A·g^(-1),and great rate capability(510 mAh·g^(-1)at 35 A·g^(-1)).As a result,P-doped Si@C anodes paired with commercial activated carbon and LiFePO_(4)cathode to assemble lithium-ion capacitor(high power density of〜61,080 W·kg^(-1)at 20 A·g^(-1))and lithium-ion full cell(good rate performance with 68.3 mAh·g^(-1)at 5 C),respectively.This work can provide an effective way tofurther improve power density and stability for energy storage devices.Ming Chen Qinnan Zhou Jiantao Zai Asma Iqbal TsegayeTadesse Tsega Boxu Dong Xuejiao Liu Yuchi Zhang Changyu Yan Liang Zhao Ali Nazakat SharelPeisan E CheeTongJohn Low Xuefeng Qian 2021Nano Research2021,14,4:5
4Evaluating the Capabilities of Soil Enthalpy, Soil Moisture and Soil Temperature in Predicting Seasonal Precipitation显示文摘Soil enthalpy(H) contains the combined effects of both soil moisture(w) and soil temperature(T) in the land surface hydrothermal process. In this study, the sensitivities of H to w and T are investigated using the multi-linear regression method.Results indicate that T generally makes positive contributions to H, while w exhibits different(positive or negative) impacts due to soil ice effects. For example, w negatively contributes to H if soil contains more ice; however, after soil ice melts,w exerts positive contributions. In particular, due to lower w interannual variabilities in the deep soil layer(i.e., the fifth layer), H is more sensitive to T than to w. Moreover, to compare the potential capabilities of H, w and T in precipitation(P) prediction, the Huanghe–Huaihe Basin(HHB) and Southeast China(SEC), with similar sensitivities of H to w and T,are selected. Analyses show that, despite similar spatial distributions of H–P and T –P correlation coefficients, the former values are always higher than the latter ones. Furthermore, H provides the most effective signals for P prediction over HHB and SEC, i.e., a significant leading correlation between May H and early summer(June) P. 5Large-eddy simulation of the compressible flow past a tabbed cylinder显示文摘The compressible flow past a tabbed cylinder has been studied numerically using large-eddy simulation for a free-stream Mach number M∞=0.75 and a Reynolds number based on the diameter Re=2×105. Because of the passive control of the flow past a tabbed cylinder, the mean drag coefficient of tabbed cylinder is less than that of a corresponding circular cylinder with a drag reduction up to 33%. The fluctuating lift coefficient is greatly suppressed to be nearly zero. Drag reduction due to the shearing process prevails over that due to the compressing process in this flow. Through investigating the mechanisms relevant to passive control of the tab, it is found that suppression of the shear layer instability can lead to a higher-base-pressure distribution, which can reasonably be associated with drag reduction and suppression of the lift fluctuations. 6Long-term clinical observation of patients with acute and chronic complete spinal cord injury after transplantation of Neuro Regen scaffold显示文摘Spinal cord injury(SCI)often results in an inhibitory environment at the injury site.In our previous studies,transplantation of a scaffold combined with stem cells was proven to induce neural regeneration in animal models of complete SCI.Based on these preclinical studies,collagen scaffolds loaded with the patients’own bone marrow mononuclear cells or human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells were transplanted into SCI patients.Fifteen patients with acute complete SCI and 51 patients with chronic complete SCI were enrolled and followed up for 2 to 5 years.No serious adverse events related to functional scaffold transplantation were observed.Among the patients with acute SCI,five patients achieved expansion of their sensory positions and six patients recovered sensation in the bowel or bladder.Additionally,four patients regained voluntary walking ability accompanied by reconnection of neural signal transduction.Among patients with chronic SCI,16 patients achieved expansion of their sensation level and 30 patients experienced enhanced reflexive defecation sensation or increased skin sweating below the injury site.Nearly half of the patients with chronic cervical SCI developed enhanced finger activity.These long-term follow-up results suggest that functional scaffold transplantation may represent a feasible treatment for patients with complete SCI.Fengwu Tang Jiaguang Tang Yannan Zhao Jiaojiao Zhang Zhifeng Xiao Bing Chen Guang Han Na Yin Xianfeng Jiang Changyu Zhao Shixiang Cheng Ziqiang Wang Yumei Chen Qiaoling Chen Keran Song Zhiwei Zhang Junjie Niu Lingjun Wang Qin Shi Liang Chen Huilin Yang Shuxun Hou Sai Zhang Jianwu Dai 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,5:3
73D Carbon Frameworks for Ultrafast Charge/Discharge Rate Supercapacitors with High Energy‑Power Density显示文摘Carbon-based electric double layer capacitors(EDLCs)hold tremendous potentials due to their high-power performance and excellent cycle stability.However,the practical use of EDLCs is limited by the low energy density in aqueous electrolyte and sluggish diffusion kinetics in organic or/and ionic liquids electrolyte.Herein,3D carbon frameworks(3DCFs)constructed by interconnected nanocages(10-20 nm)with an ultrathin wall of ca.2 nm have been fabricated,which possess high specific surface area,hierarchical porosity and good conductive network.After deoxidization,the deoxidized 3DCF(3DCFDO)exhibits a record low IR drop of 0.064 V at 100 A g^−1 and ultrafast charge/discharge rate up to 10 V s^−1.The related device can be charged up to 77.4%of its maximum capacitance in 0.65 s at 100 A g^−1 in 6 M KOH.It has been found that the 3DCF-DO has a great affinity to EMIMBF4,resulting in a high specific capacitance of 174 F g^−1 at 1 A g^−1,and a high energy density of 34 Wh kg^−1 at an ultrahigh power density of 150 kW kg^−1 at 4 V after a fast charge in 1.11 s.This work provides a facile fabrication of novel 3D carbon frameworks for supercapacitors with ultrafast charge/discharge rate and high energy-power density.Changyu Leng Zongbin Zhao Yinzhou Song Lulu Sun Zhuangjun Fan Yongzhen Yang Xuguang Liu Xuzhen Wang Jieshan Qiu 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,1:2
8Discovery of ferrocene-carborane derivatives as novel chemical antimicrobial agents against multidrug-resistant bacteria显示文摘Antimicrobial resistance has now become a very serious global public health problem. New drug discovery and development are urgently needed to combat the growing threat of multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria. The aim of this study was to explore the potential application of three ferrocene-carborane derivatives as new promising agents to confront the problem of increasing antibiotic resistance. The results of agar diffusion bioassay, minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC) testing and time-kill assay illustrate their broad-spectrum antimicrobial activities to both American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) control strains and MDR clinical isolates. It is evident that the relevant antimicrobial properties are all in a dose-dependent manner and gradually transform into a bactericidal effect from a bacteriostatic effect with the increasing of the drug concentration. Furthermore, these ferrocene-carborane derivatives have no/little toxic effect on normal cells like HELF cells and lead to little hemolysis at their MICs. 11Investigation on Upconversion Luminescence of Tm^(3+)/Yb^(3+)-Codoped Oxychloride Tellurite Glasses显示文摘Tm 3+/Yb 3+-codoped oxychloride tellurite glasses were prepared. Thermal stability, Raman spectra and upconversion luminescence spectra were studied, and upconversion luminescence mechanisms were analyzed. The results show that the intense blue and relatively weak red emissions centered at 476 and 649 nm corresponding to the transitions 1G4→3H6 and 1G4→3H4 of Tm 3+, respectively, were simultaneously observed at room temperature under 980 nm LD excitation. 12Real-time detection of the interaction between anticancer drug daunorubicin and cancer cells by Au-MCNT nanocomposites modified electrodes显示文摘In this study,we have prepared the blending of gold nanoparticles-multiwalled nanotubes (Au-MCNTs) and then applied the new nanocomposites to modify the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for highly sensitive detection of the interaction between anticancer drug daunorubicin (DNR) and cancer cells. Electrochemical analysis indicates that the Au-MCNT modified GCE shows high sensitivity and could track the real time response of cancer cells under DNR treatments. 15Advancing the pressure sensing performance of conductive CNT/PDMS composite film by constructing a hierarchical-structured surface显示文摘Flexible pressure sensors have attracted wide attention due to their applications to electronic skin,health monitoring,and human-machine interaction.However,the tradeoff between their high sensitivity and wide response range remains a challenge.Inspired by human skin,we select commercial silicon carbide sandpaper as a template to fabricate carbon nanotube(CNT)/polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)composite film with a hierarchical structured surface(h-CNT/PDMS)through solution blending and blade coating and then assemble the h-CNT/PDMS composite film with interdigitated electrodes and polyurethane(PU)scotch tape to obtain an h-CNT/PDMS-based flexible pressure sensor.Based on in-situ optical images and finite element analysis,the significant compressive contact effect between the hierarchical structured surface of h-CNT/PDMS and the interdigitated electrode leads to enhanced pressure sensitivity and a wider response range(0.1661 kPa^(-1),0.4574 kPa^(-1)and 0.0989 kPa^(-1)in the pressure range of 0–18 kPa,18–133 kPa and 133–300 kPa)compared with planar CNT/PDMS composite film(0.0066 kPa^(-1)in the pressure range of 0–240 kPa).The prepared pressure sensor displays rapid response/recovery time,excellent stability,durability,and stable response to different loading modes(bending and torsion).In addition,our pressure sensor can be utilized to accurately monitor and discriminate various stimuli ranging from human motions to pressure magnitude and spatial distribution.This study supplies important guidance for the fabrication of flexible pressure sensors with superior sensing performance in next-generation wearable electronic devices.Ye Zhao Taoyu Shen Minyue Zhang Rui Yin Yanjun Zheng Hu Liu Hongling Sun Chuntai Liu Changyu Shen 2023Nano Materials Science2023,5,4:1
16Diversity of oligotrich ciliates(Ciliophora, Spirotrichea) in the northern coast of South China Sea as revealed in LSU rDNA sequences显示文摘Although the taxonomy of oligotrich ciliates has been widely investigated,yet the species diversity remains poorly known.We newly designed a pair of oligotrich-specific LSU rDNA primers covering the 600-bp D1/D2 region,and it was effective for detecting oligotrich species.Using the primers,we constructed the cloning libraries to investigate the species diversity of oligotrichs in the northern coastal waters of the South China Sea.In total,165 oligotrich sequences were obtained from five widely separated sampling sites.Sixty operational taxonomic units(OTUs)were obtained at 99%similarity threshold,and low-abundance OTUs with no more than two sequences contributed most of these(about 78%).Our findings are consistent with previous morphological studies,Strombidium was found the most abundant and widely distributed genus in this area.In addition,the BLAST search in the NCBI database resulted in 95%OTUs matching with named oligotrich species in similarity below 99%.Therefore,oligotrich morphospecies diversity has been underestimated as low-abundance species,and the LSU rDNA oligotrich sequence database needs to be better promoted.LU Kaihui LIU Weiwei Alan WARREN XU Yusen ZHU Changyu ZHAO Yan YI Zhenzhen 2020Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,1:1
17POD Nanozyme optimized by charge separation engineering for light/pH activated bacteria catalytic/photodynamic therapy显示文摘The current feasibility of nanocatalysts in clinical anti-infection therapy,especially for drug-resistant bacteria infection is extremely restrained because of the insufficient reactive oxygen generation.Herein,a novel Ag/Bi2MoO6(Ag/BMO)nanozyme optimized by charge separation engineering with photoactivated sustainable peroxidase-mimicking activities and NIR-II photodynamic performance was synthesized by solvothermal reaction and photoreduction.The Ag/BMO nanozyme held satisfactory bactericidal performance against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)(~99.9%).The excellent antibacterial performance of Ag/BMO NPs was ascribed to the corporation of peroxidase-like activity,NIR-II photodynamic behavior,and acidity-enhanced release of Ag^(+).As revealed by theoretical calculations,the introduction of Ag to BMO made it easier to separate photo-triggered electronhole pairs for ROS production.And the conduction and valence band potentials of Ag/BMO NPs were favorable for the reduction of O_(2) to·O_(2)^(−).Under 1064 nm laser irradiation,the electron transfer to BMO was beneficial to the reversible change of Mo^(5+)/Mo^(6+),further improving the peroxidase-like catalytic activity and NIR-II photodynamic performance based on the Russell mechanism.In vivo,the Ag/BMO NPs exhibited promising therapeutic effects towards MRSA-infected wounds.This study enriches the nanozyme research and proves that nanozymes can be rationally optimized by charge separation engineering strategy.Changyu Cao Tingbo Zhang Nan Yang Xianghong Niu Zhaobo Zhou Jinlan Wang Dongliang Yang Peng Chen Liping Zhong Xiaochen Dong Yongxiang Zhao 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,4:1
18New strategy for reversing biofilm-associated antibiotic resistance through ferrocene-substituted carborane ruthenium(Ⅱ)-arene complex显示文摘Bacterial biofilms are inherently resistant to antimicrobial agents and are difficult to eradicate with conventional antimicrobial agents, resulting in many persistent and chronic bacterial infections. In this contribution, a new strategy for reversing the biofilm-associated antibiotic resistance has been explored by induction of a carborane ruthenium(II)-arene complex (FcRuSB). Our results demonstrate that the FcRuSB could be utilized as an inducer to efficiently reverse the biofilm-associated antibiotic resistance of multidrug-resistant (MDR) clinical isolates of Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The induced effect of FcRuSB is correlated with a considerable decrease in the expression of extracellular matrix proteins (EMP) of the two strains. 19VvWRKY5 enhances white rot resistance in grape by promoting the jasmonic acid pathway显示文摘Grape white rot is a disease caused by Coniella diplodiella(Speg.)Sacc.(Cd)can drastically reduce the production and quality of grape(Vitis vinifera).WRKY transcription factors play a vital role in the regulation of plant resistance to pathogens,but their functions in grape white rot need to be further explored.Here,we found that the expression of the WRKY IIe subfamily member VvWRKY5 was highly induced by Cd infection and jasmonic acid(JA)treatment.Transient injection and stable overexpression(in grape calli and Arabidopsis)demonstrated that VvWRKY5 positively regulated grape resistance to white rot.We also determined that VvWRKY5 regulated the JA response by directly binding to the promoters of VvJAZ2(a JA signaling suppressor)and VvMYC2(a JA signaling activator),thereby inhibiting and activating the transcription of VvJAZ2 and VvMYC2,respectively.Furthermore,the interaction between VvJAZ2 and VvWRKY5 enhanced the suppression and promotion of VvJAZ2 and VvMYC2 activities by VvWRKY5,respectively.When VvWRKY5 was overexpressed in grape,JA content was also increased.Overall,our results suggested that VvWRKY5 played a key role in regulating JA biosynthesis and signal transduction as well as enhancing white rot resistance in grape.Our results also provide theoretical guidance for the development of elite grape cultivars with enhanced pathogen resistance.Zhen Zhang Changyue Jiang Cui Chen Kai Su Hong Lin Yuhui Zhao Yinshan Guo 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,10:0
20Berry texture QTL and candidate gene analysis in grape(Vitis vinifera L.)显示文摘Berry texture is a noteworthy economic trait for grape;however,the genetic bases and the complex gene expression and regulatory mechanism for the diverse changes in berry texture are still poorly understood.In this study,the results suggest that it is difficult to obtain high-mesocarp firmness(MesF)and high-pericarp puncture hardness(PPH)grape cultivars with high pericarp brittleness(PerB).The high-density linkage map was constructed using whole-genome resequencing based on 151 F1 individuals originating from intraspecific hybridization between the firm-flesh cultivar‘Red Globe’and soft-flesh cultivar‘Muscat Hamburg’.The total length of the consensus map was 1613.17 cM,with a mean genetic distance between adjacent bin markers of 0.59 cM.Twenty-seven quantitative trait loci(QTLs)for berry MesF,PPH,and PerB were identified in linkage groups(LGs)1,3,4,6,8,9,10,11,14,16,and 17,including twelve QTLs that were firstly detected in LGs 6,11,and 14.Fourteen promising candidate genes were identified from the stable QTL regions in LGs 10,11,14,and 17.In particular,VvWARK2 and VvWARK8 refer to chromosome 17 and are two promising candidate genes for MesF and PPH,as the VvWARK8 gene may increase pectin residue binding with WARK for high berry firmness maintenance and the allele for VvWARK2 carrying the‘CC’and‘GA’genotypes at Chr17:1836764 and Chr17:1836770 may be associated with non-hard texture grape cultivars.In addition,real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)verification revealed that the promising candidate transcription factor genes VvMYB4-like,VvERF113,VvWRKY31,VvWRKY1,and VvNAC83 may regulate cell wall metabolism candidate gene expression for grape berry texture changes.Hong Lin Li Ma Qiuyu Guo Cheng Liu Yangming Hou Zhendong Liu Yuhui Zhao Changyue Jiang Xiuwu Guo Yinshan Guo 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,12:0
