1Reactive dividing wall column for hydrolysis of methyl acetate:Design and control显示文摘Reactive distillation and dividing wall column distillation are two kinds of effective separation technologies,and their integrated configuration,reactive dividing wall column(RDWC),presents attractive advantages.In this study,the rigorous simulation of RDWC for methyl acetate hydrolysis is performed,and sensitivity analysis is conducted to obtain the minimum reboiler duty.Then a comparison is made between the conventional process and RDWC process,and it shows that 20.1% energy savings can be achieved by RDWC process.In addition,the dynamic characteristic of RDWC is studied and an effective control strategy is proposed.The simple PI control scheme with three temperature loops can obtain reasonable control performance and maintain products at desired purities.It is proved that this RDWC process is an energy efficiency alternative with good controllability.Lumin Li Lanyi Sun Delian Yang Wang Zhong Yi Zhu Yuanyu Tian 2016Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,10:11
2Research advances of rare earth catalysts for catalytic purification of vehicle exhausts-Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Academician Guangxian Xu显示文摘Nowadays,air pollution has become a prominent environmental problem and has attracted much attention.With the increase of vehicle retention quantity,the exhaust emissions have become the main sources of air pollution.To reduce pollution and hazards,vehicle exhaust emission regulations are becoming stricter and stricter,which puts forward higher requirements for purification of vehicle exhausts.At present,rare earths have been widely applied in vehicle exhaust purification because of their good catalytic performance,which is attributed to their unique 4 f electron layer structure occupied without full electrons,excellent oxygen storage/release capacity and redox ability.In this paper,the current status of rare earth catalysts and application of rare earth in different fuel vehicle exhaust catalysts,including three-way catalysts(TWCs)for gasoline vehicles,diesel exhaust catalysts for different pollutants(particulate matter(PM),NOx,CO and HC)and catalysts for new energy vehicles with different fuels,are summarized in detail.Meanwhile,the corresponding mechanisms and the role of rare earth in vehicle exhaust catalysts are also simultaneously described.Furthermore,the challenges and development directions of rare earth catalysts for the purification of vehicle exhausts are also proposed.Lanyi Wang Xuehua Yu Yuechang Wei Jian Liu Zhen Zhao 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,10:6
3A Novel Thermally Coupled Reactive Distillation Column for the Hydrolysis of Methyl Acetate显示文摘A different pressure thermally coupled reactive distillation column(DPT-RD) for the hydrolysis of methyl acetate(Me Ac) is developed, and its design and optimization procedures are investigated. The sensitivity analysis is carried out to minimize the energy consumption, which is associated with the total annual cost(TAC). The influence of the proposed DPTRD scheme on energy consumption and economic efficiency are evaluated in comparison with the conventional reactive distillation column(CRD). 4Optimization and Control of Extractive Distillation with Heat Integration for Separating Benzene/Cyclohexane Mixtures显示文摘In this work, the extractive distillation with heat integration process is extended to separate the pressure-insensitive benzene-cyclohexane azeotrope by using furfural as the entrainer. The optimal design of extractive distillation process is established to achieve minimum energy requirement using the multi-objective genetic algorithm, and the results show that energy saving for this heat integration process is 15.7%. Finally, the control design is performed to investigate the system's dynamic performance, and three control structures are studied. 5Design and Control of Self-Heat Recuperative Distillation Process for Separation of Close-Boiling Mixtures: n-Butanol and iso-Butanol显示文摘In order to explore the advantages of self-heat recuperative distillation(SHRD) process, the design and control of the SHRD process was studied for the separation of n-butanol and iso-butanol mixtures. The economic superiority of SHRD process is presented when a comparison on the total annual cost(TAC) of the conventional distillation process, the vapor recompression distillation process and the SHRD process was made. For the SHRD process, 37.74% and 11.35% savings of TAC can be achieved as compared to the conventional distillation process and vapor recompression distillation process, respectively. The dynamic characteristics of this promising SHRD sequence had been studied, and the dynamic responses demonstrated that 10% changes in both feed flow rate and feed composition can be well handled by the control strategy with dual-temperature control. 6Design and Control of Thermally Coupled Reactive Distillation Sequence for Biodiesel Production显示文摘Decreasing petroleum reserves and growing alternative fuels requirements have promoted the study of biodiesel production. In this work, two thermally coupled reactive distillation designs for biodiesel production were investigated, and the sensitivity analysis was conducted to obtain the appropriate design values. The thermodynamic analysis and economics evaluation were performed to estimate the superiority of the thermally coupled designs over the base case. The proposed biodiesel production processes were simulated using the simulator Aspen Plus, and calculation results show that the exergy loss and economic cost in the two thermally coupled designs can be greatly reduced. It is found that the thermally coupled side-stripper reactive distillation design provides more economic benefits than the side-rectifier one. 7Heat Exchanger Network Retrofit for Optimization of Crude Distillation Unit Using Pinch Analysis显示文摘Crude distillation unit(CDU)is regarded as the main energy consumer in the entire refinery process.In this paper,the process simulation software and the energy management software are used to simulate the flowsheet and analyze the energy consumption,respectively.Stream data obtained from an existing CDU are applicable in the pinch analysis.To reduce the amount of cross-pinch heat transfer,three approaches of resequencing,repiping,and adding heat exchangers are adopted.Compared with the existing CDU,the results demonstrate that the inlet temperature of the furnace can be increased by 25.4℃,the amount of hot and cold utilities can be reduced by 15.1%and 19.6%,respectively.The economic evaluation indicates that the operating cost is saved by 8×106$/a,and the payback period is about 9 months.Sun Mengying Fu Dianliang Sun Lanyi 2021China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2021,23,1:2
8Heat Exchanger Network Retrofit of Diesel Hydrotreating Unit Using Pinch Analysis显示文摘Diesel hydrotreating unit(DHT)is an integral part of the refinery,and its energy-saving optimization is of great significance to the enterprise.In this paper,process simulation software and energy management software are used to simulate the flowsheet and analyze the energy consumption,respectively.Stream data obtained from an existing DHT are applied in the pinch analysis for retrofitting the heat exchanger network(HEN)to achieve maximum energy utilization by using pinch analysis.Since DHT is constrained by pressure,the pressure factor is considered in the process of retrofitting.The results show that the amount of cross-pinch heat transfer is reduced,the inlet temperature of the furnace is increased by 55℃,and the amount of hot and cold utilities can be reduced by 70.25%and 50.16%,respectively.The economic evaluation indicates that the operating cost is saved by 4.39×10^(6)$/a,and the payback period is about 2 months.Sun Mengying Zhang Fengjiao Liu Xinglong Sun Lanyi 2021China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2021,23,2:2
9Design, Optimization and Control of Extractive Distillation for Separation of Ethyl Acetate-Ethanol-Water Mixture Using Ionic Liquids显示文摘In this work, the process simulation of pressure-swing distillation(PSD) and extractive distillation(ED) using ionic liquid(IL) 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate([bmim][OAc]) as the entrainer for separation of ethyl acetateethanol-water mixture is performed. The design parameters of the two distillation processes are optimized with the minimum total annual cost(TAC) serving as the objective function. The results show that the TAC saving of ED process is 35.27% in comparison with that of PSD process in the case of achieving the same purity and yield of ethyl acetate.In addition, the dynamic controllability of ED process is further studied. 10Composition control and temperature inferential control of dividing wall column based on model predictive control and PI strategies显示文摘The dividing wall column(DWC) is considered as a major breakthrough in distillation technology and has good prospect of industrialization. Model predictive control(MPC) is an advanced control strategy that has acquired extensive applications in various industries. In this study, MPC is applied to the process for separating ethanol,n-propanol, and n-butanol ternary mixture in a fully thermally coupled DWC. Both composition control and temperature inferential control are considered. The multiobjective genetic algorithm function 'gamultiobj' in Matlab is used for the weight tuning of MPC. Comparisons are made between the control performances of MPC and PI strategies. 11Design and control of a middle-vessel batch distillation for separating DMC–EMC–DEC mixture显示文摘In this paper, the mixture of dimethyl carbonate, ethyl methyl carbonate and diethyl carbonate was separated by middle-vessel batch distillation with feeding in middle-vessel and process control characteristics were researched. The steady state simulation results in Aspen Plus were exported to Aspen Dynamics. Then control effect of liquid level control with HighSelector, composition control(structure1, structure2) and temperature control(proportional action, proportional integration action) were proposed. 12Novel Control Structure Design of Differential Pressure Thermally Coupled Reactive Distillation for Methyl Acetate Hydrolysis显示文摘In this paper, the novel control structures of differential pressure thermally coupled reactive distillation process for methyl acetate hydrolysis were proposed. The RadFrac module of Aspen Plus was adopted in the steady-state simulation. Sensitive analysis was applied to find the stable initial value and provide a basis for the improved control structure design. The Aspen Dynamics software was adopted to study the process dynamic behaviors, and two novel control structures provided with feed ratio controllers and sensitive tray temperature controllers were proposed. The reflux ratio controllers were applied in the improved novel control structures.
