| 3 | Gut microbiome therapeutic modulation to alleviate drug-induced hepatic damage in COVID-19 patients显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)infection caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 virus,its symptoms,treatment,and post-COVID-19 effects have been a major focus of research since 2020.In addition to respiratory symptoms,different clinical variants of the virus have been associated with dynamic symptoms and multiorgan diseases,including liver abnormalities.The release of cytokines by the activation of innate immune cells during viral infection and the high doses of drugs used for COVID-19 treatment are considered major drivers of liver injury in COVID-19 patients.The degree of hepatic inflammation in patients suffering from chronic liver disease and having COVID-19 could be severe and can be estimated through different liver chemistry abnormality markers.Gut microbiota influences liver chemistry through its metabolites.Gut dysbiosis during COVID-19 treatment can promote liver inflammation.Here,we highlighted the bidirectional association of liver physiology and gut microbiota(gut-liver axis)and its potential to manipulate drug-induced chemical abnormalities in the livers of COVID-19 patients. | Khansa Ahsan Munir Ahmad Anwar Nayla Munawar | 2023 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2023,29,11: | 1 |

| 16 | 由耦合多孔结构和浸没式多孔板引起的波浪能阻尼显示文摘The present study investigates the wave-damping characteristics due to the combination of bottom-standing porous structure,submerged porous plate,and fully-extended porous structure of finite width using the small amplitude wave theory.The hydrodynamic characteristics such as reflection,transmission,and dissipation coefficients are determined to analyse the wave energy dissipation by the composite breakwater using the matched eigenfunction expansion method and orthogonal mode-coupling relation.Darcy’s law is incorporated to the flow through porous media.The composite breakwater system is investigated experimentally to validate and compare the numerical results with the physical model study.The complex porous effect parameter for the submerged plate is incorporated in the numerical analysis,which represents the reactance and resistance of the porous structure.The wave forces on the submerged plate and porous structure for the composite breakwater are investigated by considering the effects of changing parameters such as structural porosity,plate submergence,angle of incidence,width of the submerged porous structure and distance between the structures.The study illustrates that the increasing width of the fully-extended porous structure improves the performance of the breakwater system.The proposed study on the composite breakwater yields an useful information for wave energy attenuation,which can be designed and implemented in coastal and harbour areas to achieve wave tranquillity. | K.R.Athul Krishna Khansa Abdulla D.Karmakar | 2023 | 哈尔滨工程大学学报(英文版)2023,22,3: | 0 |
| 17 | Association of problematic internet use with depression,impulsivity,anger,aggression,and social anxiety:Results of a national study among Lebanese adolescents显示文摘Importance:Several studies conducted worldwide(mostly in Western countries)highlighted the negative effects of problematic internet use,particularly among adolescents aged 12 to 17,including depression,impulsivity,aggression,and social fear and avoidance.In Lebanon,literature on the prevalence and impact of problematic internet use among adolescents is limited.Objective:This study aim was to study the association between problematic internet use and depression,impulsivity,anger,aggression and social phobia among Lebanese adolescents.Methods:A cross-sectional study was performed on 1103 young adolescents(14-17 years),recruited from October 2017 till April 2018.The Internet Addiction Test(IAT)was used to evaluate the level of problematic internet use.Data were analyzed using the MANCOVA analysis.The main independent variable of interest was the IAT,while the dependent variables included the psychological scales.Results:The multivariate analysis taking the psychological scales as the dependent variables and the problematic internet use(IAT score)as an independent variable,showed that problematic internet use was associated with higher depression,impulsivity,aggression,anger,hostility and social anxiety.Interpretation:Problematic internet use has become an important health issue that should not be overlooked,particularly because of the increased use of the internet by adolescents.Educational programs on early exposure to the internet should be developed. | Chadia Haddad Diana Malaeb Hala Sacre Jad Bou Khalil Wael Khansa Roula Al Hajj Nelly Kheir Sylvia Saade Sahar Obeid Souheil Hallit | 2021 | Pediatric Investigation2021,5,4: | 0 |
