1Risk of contrast-induced nephropathy in hospitalized patients with cirrhosis显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the incidence of contrast-induced nephropathy(CIN)in cirrhotic patients and to identify risk factors for the development of CIN.METHODS:We performed a retrospective review of 216 consecutive patients with cirrhosis who underwent computed tomography(CT)with intravenous contrast at the University of Rochester between the years 2000-2005.We retrospectively examined factors associated with a high risk for CIN,defined as a decrease in creatinine clearance of 25%or greater within one week after receiving contrast.RESULTS:Twenty-five percent of our patients developed CIN,and 74%of these patients had ascites seen on CT.Of the 75%of patients who did not develop CIN,only 46%had ascites.The presence of ascites was a significant risk factor for the development of CIN(P=0.0009,OR 3.38,95%CI 1.55-7.34)in multivariate analysis.Patient age,serum sodium,Model for End-stage Liver Disease score,diuretic use,and the presence of diabetes were not found to be significant risk factors for the development of CIN.Of the patients who developed CIN,11%developed chronic renal insufficiency,defined as a creatinine clearance less than baseline for 6 wk.CONCLUSION:Our results suggest that in hospitalized cirrhotic patients,especially those with ascites,the risk of CIN is substantial.Nilesh Lodhia Michael Kader Thalia Mayes Parvez Mantry Benedict Maliakkal 2009World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,12:9
2水盐胁迫下棉花叶片光合的气孔与非气孔限制显示文摘【目的】明确水盐胁迫下植物叶片光合过程受抑制的因素。【方法】在人工气候室内,设置无胁迫(T1)、水分胁迫处理(T2)、盐分胁迫处理(T3)和水盐胁迫处理(T4),研究了不同胁迫处理对棉花叶片气孔特征与色素量、叶片光合速率以及荧光参数的影响。【结果】与T1处理相比,T2处理并没有显著降低棉花叶片气孔的长度和宽度,但却显著降低了气孔密度;而T3处理和T4处理则显著降低了棉花叶片的气孔特征(密度、宽度和长度),T3处理和T4处理间差异并不显著。不同胁迫处理均较T1处理显著降低了棉花叶片的色素量(叶绿素a、叶绿素b和类胡萝卜素),但T3处理和T4处理只在类胡萝卜素量存在显著差异。不同胁迫处理均显著降低了棉花叶片的光合速率,T2—T4处理的气孔限制和叶肉限制的平均值分别为0.38和0.35,表明水盐胁迫条件下,棉花叶片光合速率降低主要受气孔和叶肉限制。当棉花叶片光合性能受到抑制时,植株主要通过热耗散途径来消除过剩能量。【结论】在水分和盐分胁迫条件下,棉花叶片光合性能受气孔限制和非气孔限制的共同影响。Mounkaila Hamani Abdoul Kader 申孝军 陈津赛 王广帅 高阳 2020灌溉排水学报2020,39,11:6
3Material and regenerative properties of an osteon-mimetic cortical bone-like scaffold显示文摘The objective of this work was to fabricate a rigid,resorbable and osteoconductive scaffold by mimicking the hierarchical structure of the cortical bone.Aligned peptide-functionalize nanofiber microsheets were generated with calcium phosphate(CaP)content similar to that of the natural cortical bone.Next,the CaP-rich fibrous microsheets were wrapped around a microneedle to form a laminated microtube mimicking the structure of an osteon.Then,a set of the osteon-mimetic microtubes were assembled around a solid rod and the assembly was annealed to fuse the microtubes and form a shell.Next,an array of circular microholes were drilled on the outer surface of the shell to generate a cortical bone-like scaffold with an interconnected network of Haversian-and Volkmann-like microcanals.The CaP content,porosity and density of the bone-mimetic microsheets were 240 wt%,8%and 1.9 g/ml,respectively,which were close to that of natural cortical bone.The interconnected network of microcanals in the fused microtubes increased permeability of a model protein in the scaffold.The cortical scaffold induced osteogenesis and vasculogenesis in the absence of bone morphogenetic proteins upon seeding with human mesenchymal stem cells and endothelial colony-forming cells.The localized and timed-release of morphogenetic factors significantly increased the extent of osteogenic and vasculogenic differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells and endothelial colony-forming cells in the cortical scaffold.The cortical bonemimetic nature of the cellular construct provided balanced rigidity,resorption rate,osteoconductivity and nutrient diffusivity to support vascularization and osteogenesis.Danial Barati Ozan Karaman Seyedsina Moeinzadeh Safaa Kader Esmaiel Jabbari 2019Regenerative Biomaterials2019,6,2:5
4Antimicrobial activities of the rhizome extract of Zingiber zerumbet Linn显示文摘Objective:To investigate antimicrobial effects of ethanolic extract of Zingiber zerumbet(Z.zerumbet)(L.)Smith and its chloroform and petroleum ether soluble fractions against pathogenic bacteria and fungi.Methods:The fresh rhizomes of Zingiber zerumbet were extracted in cold with ethanol(4.0 L)after concentration.The crude ethanol extract was fractionated by petroleum ether and chloroform to form a suspension of ethanol extract(15.0 g),petroleum ether fraction(6.6 g)and chloroform soluble fraction(5.0 g).The crude ethanol extract and its petroleum ether and chloroform fractions were evaluated for antibacterial and antifungal activity against thirteen pathogenic bacteria and three fungi by the disc diffusion method.Commercially available kanamycin(30μg/disc)was used as standard disc and blank discs impregnated with the respective solvents were used as negative control.Results:At a concentration of 400μg/disc,all the samples showed mild to moderate antibacterial and antifungal activity and produced the zone of inhibition ranging from 6 mm to 10 mm.Among the tested samples,the crude ethanol extract showed the highest activity against Vibrio parahemolyticus(V.parahemolyticus).The minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)of the crude ethanol extract and its fractions were within the value of 128-256μg/mL against two Gram positive and four Gram negative bacteria and all the samples showed the lowest MIC value against V.parahemolyticus(128μg/mL).Conclusions:It can be concluded that,potent antibacterial and antifungal phytochemicals are present in ethanol extract of Z.zerumbet(L.).Golam Kader Farjana Nikkon Mohammad Abdur Rashid Tanzima Yeasmin 2011Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2011,1,5:4
5Conjugated hyperbilirubinemia presenting in first fourteen days in term neonates显示文摘AIM To describe the etiology and characteristics of earlyonset conjugated hyperbilirubinemia(ECHB) presenting within 14 d of life in term neonates.METHODS Retrospective review was performed of term infants up to 28-d-old who presented with conjugated hyperbilirubinemia(CHB) at a tertiary center over a 5-year period from January 2010 to December 2014. CHB is defined as conjugated bilirubin(CB) fraction greater than 15% of total bilirubin and CB greater or equal to 25 μmol/L. ECHB is defined as CHB detected within 14 d of life. 'Late-onset' CHB(LCHB) is detected at 15-28 d of life and served as the comparison group.RESULTS Total of 117 patients were recruited: 65 had ECHB, 52had LCHB. Neonates with ECHB were more likely to be clinically unwell(80.0% vs 42.3%, P < 0.001) and associated with non-hepatic causes(73.8% vs 44.2%, P = 0.001) compared to LCHB. Multifactorial liver injury(75.0%) and sepsis(17.3%) were the most common causes of ECHB in clinically unwell infants, majority(87.5%) had resolution of CHB with no progression to chronic liver disease. Inborn errors of metabolism were rare(5.8%) but associated with high mortality(100%) in our series. In the subgroup of clinically well infants(n = 13) with ECHB, biliary atresia(BA) was the most common diagnosis(61.5%), all presented initially with normal stools and decline in total bilirubin but with persistent CHB. CONCLUSION Secondary hepatic injury is the most common reason for ECHB. 7滴灌施肥时序对不同质地土壤水氮分布的影响显示文摘【目的】探究不同滴灌施肥时序下不同质地土壤水、氮的运移规律和分布特征。【方法】通过室内土槽试验,设置3种土壤质地:砂土、壤土、黏土,分别记为S1、S2、S3,4种施肥时序:仅灌水、1/2N-1/2W(前1/2时间施氮肥)、1/4W-1/2N-1/4W(前1/4时间灌水后在中间1/2时间施氮肥)、3/8W-1/2N-1/8W(前3/8时间灌水后在中间1/2时间施氮肥),分别记为T1、T2、T3、T4,分析了土壤湿润锋的运移以及水分、硝态氮在土体内的分布特征。【结果】在灌水量和滴头流量均相同的条件下,3种土壤的湿润锋分布特征存在明显差异。湿润锋的最大入渗深度:砂土(29.5 cm)>壤土(21 cm)>黏土(15 cm)。硝态氮在湿润体边缘累积,并且随着施肥次序向前推移,硝态氮向湿润体边缘运移的趋势越来越明显。不同施肥时序下,硝态氮在3种土壤中的分布存在差异。S1T4处理的硝态氮在砂土下层的比例最低;S2T3处理下壤土的硝态氮分布最均匀;S3T2处理可以降低硝态氮在黏土表层堆积。【结论】对于砂土、壤土和黏土,分别采用3/8W-1/2N-1/8W、1/4W-1/2N-1/4W和1/2N-1/2W的施肥时序,有利于降低氮肥淋失的风险,提高氮肥利用效率。孙玮皓 申孝军 Mounkaila Hamani Abdoul Kader 司转运 高阳 2022灌溉排水学报2022,41,3:3
8Impact of the Travelling Magnetic Field on the Metallic Impurities During the Crystallization of Photovoltaic Silicon显示文摘Silicon is the most extensively studied semiconductor mainly owing to its wide applicability in the photovoltaic solar cell industry.However the qualily of Si photovoltaic cells depends on the purity of the material and on the grain structure of the ingot from which the wafers are cutting.The electrical performance of such materials,i.e.mainly their minority carrier lifetime,is closely related to metal impurities present in the feedstock or introduced during crystal growth.These impurities strongly interact with existing crystal defects to form complexes,accumulate at dislocations or grain boundaries in different forms,or even form silieide precipitates,which simultaneously contain several metal impurities.In such a context,it is necessary to control the segregation of impurities especially metallic in the grown ingot in order to optimize the cell properties as a function of the raw material purity.A new Bridgman set-up is developed in order to study the crystallization of photovoltaic Si under independently controlled solidification parameters growth rate,thermal gradient,purity and convection.Convection,either natural or forced,plays a very important role during the crystallization.Its intensity and flow pattern affect heat and mass transfer and,consequently,macrostructure and segregation in a solidified ingot.Here the convection can be controlled by a travelling magnetic field in order to homogenize or segregate the rejected impurities such as metallic elements.The effects of the magnetic field intensity and frequency on the segregation and crystalline structure will be presented.Kader Zaidat Mircea Cablea Abdallah Nouri Ghatfan Hassan Bachir Saadi Olga.Budenkova Annie.Gagnoud Yves.Delannoy 2012Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2012,19,S1:2
9The effect on wound healing of pazopanib and bevacizumab compared with corticosteroid in experimental glaucoma filtration surgery显示文摘AIM: To compare the effects of bevacizumab and pazopanib with corticosteroids on wound healing after trabeculectomy. METHODS: In the study, 35 New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into five groups. Apart from the first group, limbus-based trabeculectomy was performed for the eyes of rabbits. No postoperative treatment was administered for group Ⅰ. Topically administered saline, prednisolone acetate(1%), bevacizumab 5 mg/mL, pazopanib 5 mg/mL for group Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ and Ⅴ respectively were applied for groups 6 h daily for 28 d. On day 28 of the experiment, eyes were enucleated and histologically and immunohistochemically analyzed.RESULTS: The fibroblast counts of groups Ⅳ and Ⅴ were determined to be lower than those of groups Ⅱ and Ⅲ(P<0.05). In the mononuclear cell(MNC) count evaluation, no statistically significant difference was determined between the treatment groups(P>0.05). The immunohistochemical staining intensity of fibroblast growth factor β(FGF-β) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) was determined to be lower in groups Ⅳ and Ⅴ than in groups Ⅱ and Ⅲ(P<0.05). No statistically significant difference was determined between groups Ⅳ and Ⅴ in respect of fibroblast count, MNC count, FGF-β and VEGF staining intensity(P>0.05). The platelet derived growth factor β(PDGF-β) intensity was lower in group Ⅴ than in groups Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ(P<0.05). While the PDGF-β staining intensity was significantly lower in group Ⅳ thanin group Ⅱ, the difference compared with group Ⅲ was not statistically significant(P>0.05). 11Carbon mineralization in subtropical alluvial arable soils amended with sugarcane bagasse and rice husk biochars显示文摘Subtropical recent alluvial soils are low in organic carbon(C).Thus,increasing organic C is a major challenge to sustain soil fertility.Biochar amendment could be an option as biochar is a C-rich pyrolyzed material,which is slowly decomposed in soil.We investigated C mineralization(CO_(2)-C evolution)in two types of soils(recent and old alluvial soils)amended with two feedstocks(sugarcane bagasse and rice husk)(1%,weight/weight),as well as their biochars and aged biochars under a controlled environment(25±2℃)over 85 d.For the recent alluvial soil(charland soil),the highest absolute cumulative CO_(2)-C evolution was observed in the sugarcane bagasse treatment(1140 mg CO_(2)-C kg^(-1)soil)followed by the rice husk treatment(1090 mg CO_(2)-C kg^(-1)soil);the lowest amount(150 mg CO_(2)-C kg^(-1)soil)was observed in the aged rice husk biochar treatment.Similarly,for the old alluvial soil(farmland soil),the highest absolute cumulative CO_(2)-C evolution(1290 mg CO_(2)-C kg^(-1)soil)was observed in the sugarcane bagasse treatment and then in the rice husk treatment(1270 mg CO_(2)-C kg^(-1)soil);the lowest amount(200 mg CO_(2)-C kg^(-1)soil)was in the aged rice husk biochar treatment.Aged sugarcane bagasse and rice husk biochar treatments reduced absolute cumulative CO_(2)-C evolution by 10%and 36%,respectively,compared with unamended recent alluvial soil,and by 10%and 18%,respectively,compared with unamended old alluvial soil.Both absolute and normalized C mineralization were similar between the sugarcane bagasse and rice husk treatments,between the biochar treatments,and between the aged biochar treatments.In both soils,the feedstock treatments resulted in the highest cumulative CO_(2)-C evolution,followed by the biochar treatments and then the aged biochar treatments.The absolute and normalized CO_(2)-C evolution and the mineralization rate constant of the stable C pool(K_(s))were lower in the recent alluvial soil compared with those in the old alluvial soil.The biochars and aged biochars had a negative priming effect in both soils,but the effect was more prominent in the recent alluvial soil.These results would have good implications for improving organic matter content in organic C-poor alluvial soils.Mohammad Arifur RAHMAN Mohammad Abdul KADER Mohammad JAHIRUDDIN Mohammad Rafiqul ISLAM Zakaria Mohammad SOLAIMAN 2022Pedosphere2022,32,3:2
12Mulching type-induced soil moisture and temperature regimes and water use efficiency of soybean under rain-fed condition in central Japan显示文摘Soybean(Glycine max)is a high water-demand crop and grown under moderate temperature in Japan.To protect the crop from hot summer and to utilize rainfall for its cultivation,selection of appropriate mulching material(s)is crucial.For optimum production of the crop,soil moisture and temperature regimes as well as water use efficiency(WUE)of the crop were investigated under straw,grass,paper,plastic and bare soil(control)mulching under rain-fed condition at Gifu university farm in Japan.The mulching treatments,compared to the control,lowered soil temperature by 2°C at 5 cm depth and 0.5°C at 15 and 25 cm depths.The plastic and straw mulching stored the highest quantity of soil moisture at 5 and 15 cm depths;the bare soil stored the lowest quantity.At 25 cm depth,soil-moisture content was the highest under paper mulch but invariable under the other mulches.Plastic mulching reduced evaporation rate from the soil surface and,consequently,the reduced soil-water consumption(SWC)from the root zone augmented WUE of soybean.The paper mulching,by conserving soil-moisture and reducing soil temperature,provided better crop growth attributes,while the plastic mulching improved WUE of green soybean.Therefore,the plastic mulch performed best in reducing soil-water consumption and increasing WUE,while the paper mulch was good for soil-moisture conservation and temperature modification that increased soybean yield.Mohammad Abdul Kader Masateru Senge Mohammad Abdul Mojid Kimihito Nakamura 2017International Soil and Water Conservation Research2017,5,4:2
