2Preparation of High-Strength Al–Mg–Si/Al_2O_3 Composites with Lamellar Structures Using Freeze Casting and Pressureless Infiltration Techniques显示文摘Lamellar porous alumina scaffolds with the initial solid loadings of 20, 25, and 30 vol% were prepared by freeze casting using 5 lm alumina powders. With the addition of 3 wt% Mg O–Al2O3–Si O2 nanopowders in a eutectic composition as sintering aid, the maximum compressive strength of the sintered scaffolds reached(64 ± 2) MPa after sintering at 1,773 K for 2 h. The lamellar porous scaffolds were then filled with a molten Al–12Si–10 Mg alloy(in wt%)by pressureless infiltration at 1,223 K in a N2 atmosphere, yielding the shell-like structure of the composites. 4Liquid biopsy for esophageal cancer: Is detection of circulating cell-free DNA as a biomarker feasible?显示文摘Esophageal cancer(EC)is a common cancer and is histopathologically classified into esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and esophageal adenocarcinoma.EC is a worldwide public health issue because of late diagnosis and lack of effective therapy.In contrast to standard tumor biopsies,liquid biopsies are emerging as a tool which is minimally invasive that can complement or even substitute more classical approaches.Specifically,cell-free DNA(cfDNA)has shown promise in cancer-related clinical applications.Indeed,cfDNA has been shown to be an effective circulating biomarker for non-invasive cancer diagnosis and monitoring of cancer patients.Although the clinical application of cfDNA has been reported on other cancers,few studies have evaluated its use in EC.Here,we review this relevant literature and discuss limitations and advantages of its application in the diagnosis and monitoring of EC.Zuyang Yuan Xinfeng Wang Xiao Geng Yin Li Juwei Mu Fengwei Tan Qi Xue Shugeng Gao Jie He 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,1:4
5How Aging and Intergeneration Disparity Influence Consumption Inequality in China显示文摘Concurrent with market economic reforms,China is facing an increasing income gap and an aging population.The question addressed in the present paper is how much aging contributes to the rising disparity in consumption.Based on the model established by Ohtake and Saito(1998),our study shows that cohort effects contribute close to 60 percent of the rising consumption inequality,while approximately 10 percent is the result of aging.The growth of aggregate consumption inequality caused by the cohort effect has various implications.Strengthening the redistribution system,especially the tax system,may enable the economy to avoid further increases in income inequality.Juwei Zhang Jing Xiang 2014China & World Economy2014,22,3:4
6Scale-up of bubbling fluidized beds with continuous particle flow based on particle-residence-time distribution显示文摘Few studies have investigated scale-up of the residence-time distribution(RTD) of particles in bubbling fluidized beds(BFBs) with continuous particle flow.Two approaches were investigated in this study:first,using well-known scaling laws that require changes in particle properties and gas velocity;second,using a simple approach keeping the same particles and gas velocity for different beds.Our theoretical analysis indicates it is possible to obtain similar RTDs in different BFBs with scaling laws if the plug-flow residence time(t_(plug)) is changed as m^(0.5),where m is the scaling ratio of the bed;however,neither approach can ensure similar RTDs if t_(plug)is kept invariant.To investigate RTD variations using two approaches without changing t_(plug),we performed experiments in three BFBs.The derivatives d?(θ)/dθ(where E(θ) is the dimensionless RTD density function and θ is the dimensionless time) in the early stage of the RTDs always varied with m-1,which was attributed to the fact that the particle movement in the early stage were mainly subject to dispersion.Using the simple approach,we obtained similar RTDs by separately treating the RTDs in the early and post-stages.This approach guarantees RTD similarity and provides basic rules for designing BFBs.Juwei Zhang Guangwen Xu 2015Particuology2015,13,2:3
7Effects of shear keys on nonlinear seismic responses of an arch-gravity dam显示文摘In the paper,the added tangential nonlinear springs are introduced to represent the effects of one-way and two-way shear keys. The added tangential stiffness coefficient is relative to the joint opening and the relative tangential movement and determined numerically by using a refined model of shear keys.The user subroutine of nonlinear spring elements has been implemented into ABAQUS program.The seismic responses of an arch-gravity dam are mainly examined.It is shown by the results that a significant increase of about 17%-30%in joint opening can be observed for the dam with one-way shear keys;the two-way shear keys are beneficial to restrain the sliding displacement along both the radial and vertical directions,whereas the one-way shear keys mainly restrain the displacement along the radial direction;for the dam with shear keys,the maximum arch stress is increased,the cantilever stress is reduced,and the location of the maximum cantilever stress is also moved from the dam heel to the midheight of the cantilever.JIANG ShouYan 1,DU ChengBin 1 &YUAN JuWei 2 1 Department of Engineering Mechanics,Hohai University,Nanjing 210098,China 2 Jiangsu Hongji Science and Technology Company.,Ltd.,Nanjing 210008,China 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,S1:2
