| 2 | Preparation of High-Strength Al–Mg–Si/Al_2O_3 Composites with Lamellar Structures Using Freeze Casting and Pressureless Infiltration Techniques显示文摘Lamellar porous alumina scaffolds with the initial solid loadings of 20, 25, and 30 vol% were prepared by freeze casting using 5 lm alumina powders. With the addition of 3 wt% Mg O–Al2O3–Si O2 nanopowders in a eutectic composition as sintering aid, the maximum compressive strength of the sintered scaffolds reached(64 ± 2) MPa after sintering at 1,773 K for 2 h. The lamellar porous scaffolds were then filled with a molten Al–12Si–10 Mg alloy(in wt%)by pressureless infiltration at 1,223 K in a N2 atmosphere, yielding the shell-like structure of the composites. | 6 | Scale-up of bubbling fluidized beds with continuous particle flow based on particle-residence-time distribution显示文摘Few studies have investigated scale-up of the residence-time distribution(RTD) of particles in bubbling fluidized beds(BFBs) with continuous particle flow.Two approaches were investigated in this study:first,using well-known scaling laws that require changes in particle properties and gas velocity;second,using a simple approach keeping the same particles and gas velocity for different beds.Our theoretical analysis indicates it is possible to obtain similar RTDs in different BFBs with scaling laws if the plug-flow residence time(t_(plug)) is changed as m^(0.5),where m is the scaling ratio of the bed;however,neither approach can ensure similar RTDs if t_(plug)is kept invariant.To investigate RTD variations using two approaches without changing t_(plug),we performed experiments in three BFBs.The derivatives d?(θ)/dθ(where E(θ) is the dimensionless RTD density function and θ is the dimensionless time) in the early stage of the RTDs always varied with m-1,which was attributed to the fact that the particle movement in the early stage were mainly subject to dispersion.Using the simple approach,we obtained similar RTDs by separately treating the RTDs in the early and post-stages.This approach guarantees RTD similarity and provides basic rules for designing BFBs. | Juwei Zhang Guangwen Xu | 2015 | Particuology2015,13,2: | 3 |
| 7 | Effects of shear keys on nonlinear seismic responses of an arch-gravity dam显示文摘In the paper,the added tangential nonlinear springs are introduced to represent the effects of one-way and two-way shear keys.
