Methodologies on estimating the energy requirements for maintenance and determining the net energy contents of feed ingredients in swine:a review of recent work显示文摘In the past two decades, a considerable amount of research has focused on the determination of the digestible(DE) and metabolizable energy(ME) contents of feed ingredients fed to swine. Compared with the DE and ME systems, the net energy(NE) system is assumed to be the most accurate estimate of the energy actually available to the animal. However, published data pertaining to the measured NE content of ingredients fed to growing pigs are limited. Therefore, the Feed Data Group at the Ministry of Agricultural Feed Industry Centre(MAFIC) located at China Agricultural University has evaluated the NE content of many ingredients using indirect calorimetry. The present review summarizes the NE research works conducted at MAFIC and compares these results with those from other research groups on methodological aspect. These research projects mainly focus on estimating the energy requirements for maintenance and its impact on the determination, prediction, and validation of the NE content of several ingredients fed to swine. The estimation of maintenance energy is affected by methodology, growth stage, and previous feeding level. The fasting heat production method and the curvilinear regression method were used in MAFIC to estimate the NE requirement for maintenance. The NE contents of different feedstuffs were determined using indirect calorimetry through standard experimental procedure in MAFIC. Previously generated NE equations can also be used to predict NE in situations where calorimeters are not available. Although popular, the caloric efficiency is not a generally accepted method to validate the energy content of individual feedstuffs. In the future, more accurate and dynamic NE prediction equations aiming at specific ingredients should be established, and more practical validation approaches need to be developed.Zhongchao Li Hu Liu akui Li Zhiqian Lv Ling Liu Changhua Lai Junjun Wang Fenglai Wang Defa Li Shuai Zhang 2018Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2018,9,3:6
Divergent Projection Patterns Revealed by Reconstruction of Individual Neurons in Orbitofrontal Cortex显示文摘The orbitofrontal cortex(OFC)is involved in diverse brain functions via its extensive projections to multiple target regions. There is a growing understanding of the overall outputs of the OFC at the population level, but reports of the projection patterns of individual OFC neurons across different cortical layers remain rare. Here,by combining neuronal sparse and bright labeling with a whole-brain florescence imaging system(fMOST),we obtained an uninterrupted three-dimensional whole-brain dataset and achieved the full morphological reconstruction of 25 OFC pyramidal neurons. We compared the wholebrain projection targets of these individual OFC neurons in different cortical layers as well as in the same cortical layer. We found cortical layer-dependent projections characterized by divergent patterns for information delivery. Our study not only provides a structural basis for understanding the principles of laminar organizations in the OFC,but also provides clues for future functional and behavioral studies on OFC pyramidal neurons.Junjun Wang Pei Sun Xiaohua Lv Sen Jin Anan Li Jianxia Kuang Ning Li Yadong Gang Rui Guo Shaoqun Zeng Fuqiang Xu Yu-Hui Zhang 2021Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,4:5
Fabrication and Testing of Metal Foil Planar Switch显示文摘A metal foil spark gap switch is fabricated by using magnetron sputtering deposition technology and standard microelectronic technology. The switch has two main electrodes and a trigger electrode. Stylus profiler is employed to measure the distance between the main electrodes and the dimensions of the trigger electrode. The discharge characteristics of the metal foil spark gap switch are discussed. The switch has short delay time and low time jitter. When it is fired by a conventional capacitive discharge unit (CDU), the firing circuit has low inductance and resistance. Because of its low profile structure, it can be easily integrated with the bridge foil used in a conventional exploding foil initiator system (EFIS).ZENG Qingxuan LV Junjun LI Mingyu 2013Defence Technology(防务技术)2013,9,2:4
Up-regulation of glycolipid transfer protein by bicyclol causes spontaneous restriction of hepatitis C virus replication显示文摘Bicyclol is a synthetic drug for hepatoprotection in clinic since 2004. Preliminary clinical observations suggest that bicyclol might be active against hepatitis C virus(HCV) with unknown mechanism. Here, we showed that bicyclol significantly inhibited HCV replication in vitro and in hepatitis C patients. Using bicyclol as a probe, we identified glycolipid transfer protein(GLTP) to be a novel restrictive factor for HCV replication. The GLTP preferentially bound host vesicle-associated membrane protein-associated protein-A(VAP-A) in competition with the HCV NS5 A, causing an interruption of the complex formation between VAP-A and HCV NS5 A. As the formation of VAP-A/NS5 A complex is essential for viral RNA replication, up-regulation of GLTP by bicyclol reduced the level of VAP-A/NS5 A complex and thus inhibited HCV replication. Bicyclol also exhibited an inhibition on HCV variants resistant to direct-acting antiviral agents(DAAs) with an efficacy identical to that on wild type HCV. In combination with bicyclol, DAAs inhibited HCV replication in a synergistic fashion. GLTP appears to be a newly discovered host restrictive factor for HCV replication, Up-regulation of GLTP causes spontaneous restriction of HCV replication.Meng-Hao Huang Hu Li Rong Xue Jianrui Li Lihua Wang Junjun Cheng Zhouyi Wu Wenjing Li Jinhua Chen Xiaoqin Lv Qiang Li Pei Lan Limin Zhao Yongfeng Yang Zonggen Peng Jiandong Jiang 2019Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2019,9,4:3
Chemical Synthesis Residual Pyrolysis and Combustion: Kinetics and Evolved Gases Investigated by TG-FTIR显示文摘Chemical synthetic residual is one of the solid wastes generated from pharmaceutical industry. The pyrolysis and combustion characteristics of chemical synthesis residual were investigated using a thermogravimetric analyser coupled with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(TG-FTIR)in this study. The processes of pyrolysis and combustion can be divided into three stages. The average weight loss rate of pyrolysis process at low temperature was higher than that of combustion. The kinetic parameters of chemical synthesis residual during pyrolysis and combustion were calculated based on the TG results.Acetic acid and 4-aminophenol were the main evolved matter observed in the pyrolysis process. The emission characteristics of combustion at low temperature were similar to that of the pyrolysis, while CO2 was found as the major gaseous product at high temperature.A high temperature about 850°C is needed to make sure the complete combustion of chemical synthesis residual.FANG Chunqi JIANG Xuguang LV Guojun YAN Jianhua LIN Xuliang SONG Huibo CAO Junjun 2020Journal of Thermal Science2020,29,1:3
Integrated histopathological, lipidomic, and metabolomic profiles reveal mink is a useful animal model to mimic the pathogenicity of severe COVID-19 patients显示文摘Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)is transmitted on mink farms between minks and humans in many countries. However, the systemic pathological features of SARS-CoV-2-infected minks are mostly unknown. Here,we demonstrated that minks were largely permissive to SARS-CoV-2,characterized by severe and diffuse alveolar damage, and lasted at least 14 days post inoculation(dpi). We first reported that infected minks displayed multiple organ-system lesions accompanied by an increased inflammatory response and widespread viral distribution in the cardiovascular, hepatobiliary, urinary, endocrine, digestive, and immune systems. The viral protein partially co-localized with activated Mac-2+macrophages throughout the body. Moreover,we first found that the alterations in lipids and metabolites were correlated with the histological lesions in infected minks, especially at 6 dpi,and were similar to that of patients with severe and fatal COVID-19.Particularly,altered metabolic pathways, abnormal digestion, and absorption of vitamins, lipids, cholesterol, steroids, amino acids, and proteins, consistent with hepatic dysfunction, highlight metabolic and immune dysregulation.Enriched kynurenine in infected minks contributed to significant activation of the kynurenine pathway and was related to macrophage activation.Melatonin, which has significant anti-inflammatory and immunomodulating effects, was significantly downregulated at 6 dpi and displayed potential as a targeted medicine. Our data first illustrate systematic analyses of infected minks to recapitulate those observations in severe and fetal COVID-19 patients, delineating a useful animal model to mimic SARS-CoV-2-induced systematic and severe pathophysiological features and provide a reliable tool for the development of effective and targeted treatment strategies, vaccine research, and potential biomarkers.Zhiqi Song Linlin Bao Wei Deng Jiangning Liu Erjun Ren Qi Lv Mingya Liu Feifei Qi Ting Chen Ran Deng Fengdi Li Yunpeng Liu Qiang Wei Hong Gao Pin Yu Yunlin Han Wenjie Zhao Junjun Zheng Xujian Liang Fuhe Yang Chuan Qin 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,2:2

Integrating thermal energy storage and microwave absorption in phase change material-encapsulated core-sheath MoS_(2)@CNTs显示文摘Developing advanced nanocomposite integrating solar-driven thermal energy storage and thermal management functional microwave absorption can facilitate the cutting-edge application of phase change materials(PCMs).To conquer this goal,herein,two-dimensional MoS_(2) nanosheets are grown in situ on the surface of one-dimensional CNTs to prepare core-sheath MoS_(2)@CNTs for the encapsulation of paraffin wax(PW).Benefiting from the synergistic enhancement photothermal effect of MoS_(2) and CNTs,MoS_(2)@CNTs is capable of efficiently trapping photons and quickly transporting phonons, thus yielding a high solar-thermal energy conversion and storage efficiency of 94.97%.Meanwhile,PW/MoS_(2)@CNTs composite PCMs exhibit a high phase change enthalpy of 101.60 J/g and excellent lo ng-term thermal storage durability after undergoing multiple heating-cooling cycles.More attractively,PW/MoS_(2)@CNTs composite PCMs realize thermal management functional microwave absorption in heat-related electronic application scenarios, which is superior to the single microwave absorption of traditional materials. The minimum reflection loss(RL) for PW/MoS_(2)@CNTs is-28 dB at 12.91 GHz with a 2.0 mm thickness. This functional integration design provides some insightful references on developing advanced microwave absorbing composite PCMs,holding great potential towards high-efficiency solar energy utilization and thermally managed microwave absorption fields.Panpan Liu Yang Li Zhaodi Tang Junjun Lv Piao Cheng Xuemei Diao Yu Jiang Xiao Chen Ge Wang 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,9:0

Morphological disruption and visual tuning alterations in the primary visual cortex in glaucoma(DBA/2J)mice显示文摘Glaucoma is a leading cause of irreve rsible blindness wo rldwide, and previous studies have shown that,in addition to affecting the eyes,it also causes abnormalities in the brain. However,it is not yet clear how the primary visual cortex(V1)is altered in glaucoma. This study used DBA/2J mice as a model for spontaneous secondary glaucoma. The aim of the study was to compare the electrophysiological and histomorphological chara cteristics of neurons in the V1between 9-month-old DBA/2J mice and age-matched C57BL/6J mice.We conducted single-unit recordings in the V1 of light-anesthetized mice to measure the visually induced responses, including single-unit spiking and gamma band oscillations. The morphology of layerⅡ/Ⅲneurons was determined by neuronal nuclear antigen staining and Nissl staining of brain tissue sections.Eighty-seven neurons from eight DBA/2J mice and eighty-one neurons from eight C57BL/6J mice were examined.Compared with the C57BL/6J group,V1 neurons in the DBA/2J group exhibited weaker visual tuning and impaired spatial summation.Moreove r,fewer neuro ns were observed in the V1 of DBA/2J mice compared with C57BL/6J mice. These findings suggest that DBA/2J mice have fewer neurons in the VI compared with C57BL/6J mice, and that these neurons have impaired visual tuning. Our findings provide a better understanding of the pathological changes that occur in V1 neuron function and morphology in the DBA/2J mouse model. This study might offer some innovative perspectives regarding the treatment of glaucoma.Yin Yang Zhaoxi Yang Maoxia Lv Ang Jia Junjun Li Baitao Liao Jing’an Chen Zhengzheng Wu Yi Shi Yang Xia Dezhong Yao Ke Chen 2024Neural Regeneration Research2024,19,1:0
Particle erosion of infrared materials显示文摘Erosion test of some infrared (IR) optical crystals (Ge, ZnS, MgF2, and quartz) was conducted with a number of different erodents (glass bead, and angular SiC, SiO2, Al2O3) by a homemade gas-blasting erosion tester. The influence of impact angle, im-pact velocity, erodent, and erosion time on the erosion rate and the effect of erosion on their IR transmittance were studied. The damaged surface morphology was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, and the erosion mechanism was explored. All of the materials show the maximum in wear versus impact angle at 90°, confirming their brittle failure behavior. It is found that the ero-sion rate is dependent on the erodent velocity by a power law, and it is highly correlated to the hardness of the erodent. The erosion rate-time curves do not show an incubation state, but an accelerated erosion period followed a maximum erosion (steady state). The decrease of IR transmittance is direct proportion to the erosion rate. Although the material loss occurs primarily by brittle process, ductile behavior is clearly an important feature, especially for MgF2 and ZnS.Qi He Fanxiu Lv Fenglei Zhang Huibin Guo Junjun Wei 2008Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2008,15,6:0
