2Monitoring the concentration of N_2O in the Fildes Peninsula, maritime Antarctica显示文摘Gases in the marine boundary layer in Fildes Peninsula, maritime Antarctica were sampled and analyzed for the first time. Sampling sites included areas covered by moss and lichen growth, penguin colonies and an area where scientific research stations are located. A total of 211 samples were analyzed for N2O concentrations, with an average of (321.33±3.07) nL/L. This is above the global average value of 314 nL/L. It is found that the N2O concentrations evidently increase during the summer months. Concentrations around the research stations are higher than at remote areas, indicating a potential source from human activities on the island. N2O concentrations at a large penguin colony on Barton Peninsula are the highest among the sampled areas. This may explain why N2O concentrations in Fildes Peninsula are higher than the global average. 3Down.regulation of E.cadherin enhances prostate cancer chemoresistance via Notch signaling显示文摘Background:The chemoresistance of prostate cancer(PCa)is invariably associated with the aggressiveness and metastasis of this disease.New emerging evidence indicates that the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition(EMT)may play pivotal roles in the development of chemoresistance and metastasis.As a hallmark of EMT,E-cadherin is suggested to be a key marker in the development of chemoresistance.However,the molecular mechanisms underlying PCa chemoresistance remain unclear.The current study aimed to explore the association between EMT and chemoresistance in PCa as well as whether changing the expression of E-cadherin would affect PCa chemoresistance.Methods:Parental PC3 and DU145 cells and their chemoresistant PC3-Tx R and DU145-Tx R cells were analyzed.PC3-Tx R and DU145-Tx R cells were transfected with E-cadherin-expressing lentivirus to overexpress E-cadherin;PC3 and DU145 cells were transfected with small interfering RNA to silence E-cadherin.Changes of EMT phenotype-related markers and signaling pathways were assessed by Western blotting and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction.Tumor cell migration,invasion,and colony formation were then evaluated by wound healing,transwell,and colony formation assays,respectively.The drug sensitivity was evaluated using MTS assay.Results:Chemoresistant PC3-Tx R and DU145-Tx R cells exhibited an invasive and metastatic phenotype that associated with EMT,including the down-regulation of E-cadherin and up-regulation of Vimentin,Snail,and N-cadherin,comparing with that of parental PC3 and DU145 cells.When E-cadherin was overexpressed in PC3-Tx R and DU145-Tx R cells,the expression of Vimentin and Claudin-1 was down-regulated,and tumor cell migration and invasion were inhibited.In particular,the sensitivity to paclitaxel was reactivated in E-cadherin-overexpressing PC3-Tx R and DU145-Tx R cells.When E-cadherin expression was silenced in parental PC3 and DU145 cells,the expression of Vimentin and Snail was up-regulated,and,particularly,the sensitivity to paclitaxel was decreased.Interestingly,Notch-1 expression was up-regulated in PC3-Tx R and DU145-Tx R cells,whereas the E-cadherin expression was down-regulated in these cells comparing with their parental cells.The use ofγ-secretase inhibitor,a Notch signaling pathway inhibitor,significantly increased the sensitivity of chemoresistant cells to paclitaxel.Conclusion:The down-regulation of E-cadherin enhances PCa chemoresistance via Notch signaling,and inhibiting the Notch signaling pathway may reverse PCa chemoresistance.Wenchu Wang Lihui Wang Atsushi Mizokami Junlin Shi Chunlin Zou Jinlu Dai Evan T. 4Evolution of boundary layer ozone in Shijiazhuang,a suburban site on the North China Plain显示文摘The structure of the boundary layer affects the evolution of ozone(O3), and research into this structure will provide important insights for understanding photochemical pollution.In this study, we conducted a one-month observation(from June 15 to July 14, 2016) of the boundary layer meteorological factors as well as O3 and its precursors in Luancheng County,Shijiazhuang(37°53′N, 114°38′E). Our research showed that photochemical pollution in Shijiazhuang is serious, and the mean hourly maximum and mean 8-hr maximum O3 concentrations are 97.9 ± 26.1 and 84.4 ± 22.4 ppbV, respectively. Meteorological factors play a significant role in the formation of O3. High temperatures and southeasterly winds lead to elevated O3 values, and at moderate relative humidity(40%–50%) and medium boundary layer heights(1200–1500 m), O3 production sensitivity occurred in the transitional region between volatile organic compounds(VOC) and nitrogen oxides(NOx) limitations,and the O3 concentration was the highest. The vertical profiles of O3 were also measured by a tethered balloon. The results showed that a large amount of O3 was stored in the residual layer, and the concentration was positively correlated with the O3 concentration measured the previous day. 5Effects of silica nanoparticles on growth and photosynthetic pigment contents of Scenedesmus obliquus显示文摘To assess the aquatic ecosystem safety for silica (SiO2) nanoparticles (NPs), the growth inhibition and photosynthetic pigment contents of Scenedesmus obliquus in logarithm growth phase exposed to SiO2 NPs and SiO2 bulk particles (BPs) suspensions were measured. SiO2 NPs with 10-20 nm diameters were found to be toxic. The 20% effective concentration (EC20) values for 72 and 96 hr were 388.1 and 216.5 mg/L, respectively. The contents of chlorophyll decreased significantly under moderate and high concentration (50, 100, and 200 mg/L) of SiO2 NPs after 96-hr exposure, but the carotenoids did not. SiO2 BPs were found to be nontoxic up to 200 mg/L. The toxicity of SiO2 NPs probablely due to their sorption to algal cells surface. 6Efficient InGaN-based yellow-light-emitting diodes显示文摘Realization of efficient yellow-light-emitting diodes(LEDs) has always been a challenge in solid-state lighting.Great effort has been made, but only slight advancements have occurred in the past few decades. After comprehensive work on InGaN-based yellow LEDs on Si substrate, we successfully made a breakthrough and pushed the wall-plug efficiency of 565-nm-yellow LEDs to 24.3% at 20 A∕cm^2 and 33.7% at 3 A∕cm^2. 7Mixing state of individual carbonaceous particles during a severe haze episode in January 2013,Nanjing,China显示文摘Chemical composition,hourly counts,and sizes of atmospheric carbonaceous particles were measured to investigate their mixing state on clear and hazy days.623,122 carbonaceous particles with sizes0.2-2.0 μm was analyzed using a single-particle aerosol mass spectrometer from 1st to 17 th January2013.Particle types included biomass/biofuel burning particles(biomass),element carbon(EC-dominant)particles that were also mixed with biomass/biofuel burning species(EC-biomass) or secondary species(EC-secondary),organic carbon(OC),internally mixed OC and EC(OCEC),ammonium-containing(ammonium) and sodium-containing(sodium) particles.On clear days the top ranked carbonaceous particle types were biomass(48.2%),EC-biomass(15.7%),OCEC(11.1%),and sodium(9.6%),while on hazy days they were biomass(37.3%),EC-biomass(17.6%),EC-secondary(16.6%),and sodium(12.7%).The fractions of EC-secondary,ammonium(10%),and sodium particle types were elevated on hazy days.Numbers of EC-secondary particles were more than four times those on clear days(4.1%).Thus,carbonaceous particles mixed with ammonium,nitrate and sulfate during aging and transport,enhancing their light extinction effects and hygroscopic growth under high relative humidity on hazy days,further reducing visibility.Our real-time single-particle data showed that changes to mixing state had a significant impact on light extinction during haze events in Nanjing.Honglei Wang Bin Zhu Zefeng Zhang Junlin An Lijuan Shen 2015Particuology2015,13,3:12
8Convergence proof of the DSMC method and the Gas-Kinetic Unified Algorithm for the Boltzmann equation显示文摘This paper investigates the convergence proof of the Direct Simulation Monte Carlo(DSMC) method and the Gas-Kinetic Unified Algorithm in simulating the Boltzmann equation.It can be shown that the particle velocity distribution function obtained by the DSMC method converges to a modified form of the Boltzmann equation,which is the equation of the gas-kinetic unified algorithm to directly solve the molecular velocity distribution function.Their convergence is derived through mathematical treatment.The collision frequency is presented using various molecular models and the local equilibrium distribution function is obtained by Enskog expansion using the converged equation of the DSMC method.These two expressions agree with those used in the unified algorithm.Numerical validation of the converging consistency between these two approaches is illustrated by simulating the pressure driven Poiseuille flow in the slip transition flow regime and the two-dimensional and three-dimensional flows around a circular cylinder and spherical-cone reentry body covering the whole flow regimes from low speed micro-channel flow to high speed non-equilibrium aerothermodynamics.LI Zhi Hui FANG Ming JIANG XinYu WU JunLin 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,2:10
9A high-quality Actinidia chinensis(kiwifruit)genome显示文摘Actinidia chinensis(kiwifruit)is a perennial horticultural crop species of the Actinidiaceae family with high nutritional and economic value.Two versions of the A.chinensis genomes have been previously assembled,based mainly on relatively short reads.Here,we report an improved chromosome-level reference genome of A.chinensis(v3.0),based mainly on PacBio long reads and Hi-C data.The high-quality assembled genome is 653 Mb long,with 0.76%heterozygosity.At least 43%of the genome consists of repetitive sequences,and the most abundant long terminal repeats were further identified and account for 23.38%of our novel genome.It has clear improvements in contiguity,accuracy,and gene annotation over the two previous versions and contains 40,464 annotated protein-coding genes,of which 94.41%are functionally annotated.Moreover,further analyses of genetic collinearity revealed that the kiwifruit genome has undergone two whole-genome duplications:one affecting all Ericales families near the K-T extinction event and a recent genus-specific duplication.The reference genome presented here will be highly useful for further molecular elucidation of diverse traits and for the breeding of this horticultural crop,as well as evolutionary studies with related taxa.Haolin Wu Tao Ma Minghui Kang Fandi Ai Junlin Zhang Guanyong Dong Jianquan Liu 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:10

11HLA-DRB1 allele polymorphisms in genetic susceptibility to esophageal carcinoma显示文摘AIM: To probe into the genetic susceptibility of HLA-DRB1 alleles to esophageal carcinoma in Han Chinese in Hubei Province.METHODS: HLA-DRB1 allele polymorphisms were typed by polymerase chain reaction with sequence-specific primers (PCR-SSP) in 42 unrelated patients with esophageal cancer and 136 unrelated normal control subjects and the associated HLA-DRB1 allele was measured by nucleotide sequence analysis with PCR.SAS software was used in statistics.RESULTS: Allele frequency (AF) of HLA-DRB1·0901 was significantly higher in esophageal carcinoma patients than that in the normal controls (0.2500 vs0.1397, P=0.028, the odds ratio 2.053, etiologic fraction 0.1282). After analyzed the allele nucleotide sequence of HLA-DRB1·0901 which approachs to the corresponded exon 2 sequence of the allele in genebank. There was no association between patients and controls in the rested HLA-DRB1 alleles.CONCLUSION: HLA-DRB1·0901 allele is more common in the patients with esophageal carcinoma than in the healthy controls, which is positively associated with the patients of Hubei Han Chinese. 13Effects and safety of aspirin use in patients after cerebrovascular bypass procedures显示文摘Object Superficial temporal artery to middle cerebral artery(STA-MCA)bypass is the most effective treatment for Moyamoya disease(MMD).In this study,we aimed to assess whether aspirin improves STA-MCA bypass patency and is safe in patients with MMD.Methods We performed a retrospective medical record review of patients with ischaemic-onset MMD who had undergone STA-MCA bypass at two hospitals between January 2011 and August 2018,to clarify the effects and safety of aspirin following STA-MCA bypass.The neurological status at the last follow-up(FU)was compared between patients with FU bypass patency and occlusion.Results Among 217 identified patients(238 hemispheres),the mean age was 41.4±10.2 years,and 51.8%were male;the indications for STA-MCA bypass were stroke(48.2%),followed by a transient ischaemic attack(44.0%).Immediate bypass patency was confirmed in all cases.During the FU period(1.5±1.5 y),15 cases were occluded at FU imaging,resulting in an overall cumulative patency rate of 94%.The patency rates were 93%and 94%in the short-term FU group(n=131,mean FU time 0.5±0.2 years)and long-term FU group(n=107,mean FU time 4.1±3.5 years),respectively.The STA-MCA bypass patency rate in the aspirin group was higher than that in the non-aspirin group(98.7%vs 89.7%;HR 1.57;95%CI 1.106 to 2.235;p=0.012).No significant difference in the FU haemorrhagic events was observed between the aspirin and non-aspirin groups.Conclusions Among adult patients with ischaemic-onset MMD undergoing STA-MCA bypass procedures,aspirin might increase the bypass patency rate,without increasing the bleeding risk.FU bypass patency may be associated with a better outcome.Additional studies,especially carefully designed prospective studies,are needed to address the role of aspirin after bypass procedures.Junlin Lu Guangchao Shi Yuanli Zhao Rong Wang Dong Zhang Xiaolin Chen Hao Wang Ji Zong Zhao 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,4:7
14Common-anode LED on a Si substrate for beyond 15 Gbit/s underwater visible light communication显示文摘Visible light communication based on light-emitting diodes(LEDs) has become a promising candidate by providing high data rates, low latency, and secure communication for underwater environments. In this paper,a self-designed common-anode GaN-based five-primary-color LED(RGBYC LED) on a Si substrate is proposed and fabricated. The design of a common anode is used to mitigate the saturation effect for a low-frequency component. Additionally, compared with commercially available LEDs that suffer from nonlinearity distortion,applying the designed LED can provide much better and broader linearity according to the measurement results.Therefore, the modulation depth and system performance can be further improved to implement a high-speed underwater visible light communication(UVLC) system. There is no nonlinearity compensation algorithm applied due to the good linearity of the proposed LED;thus, the offline digital signal processing is simplified. 15Energetic materials based on poly furazan and furoxan structures显示文摘Furazan and furoxan represent fascinating explosophoric units with intriguing structures and unique properties.Compared with other nitrogen-rich heterocycles,most poly furazan and furoxan-based heterocycles demonstrate superior energetic performances due to the higher enthalpy of formation and density levels.A large variety of advanced energetic materials have been achieved based on the combination of furazan and furoxan moieties with different kinds of linkers and this review provides an overview of the development of energetic poly furazan and furoxan structures during the past decades,with their physical properties and detonation characteristics summarized and compa red with traditional energetic materials.Various synthetic strategies towards these compact energetic structures are highlighted by covering the most important cyclization methods for construction of the hetercyclic scaffolds and the following modifications such as nitrations and oxidations.Given the synthetic availabilities and outstanding properties,energetic materials based on poly furazan and furoxan structures are undoubtedly listed as a promising candidate for the development of new-generation explosives,propellants and pyrotechnics.Junlin Zhang Jing Zhou Fuqiang Bi Bozhou Wang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,9:6
16Development of Genomic Microsatellite Multiplex PCR Using Dye-Labeled Universal Primer and Its Validation in Pedigree Analysis of Pacific Oyster(Crassostrea gigas)显示文摘There is an increasing requirement for traceability of aquaculture products, both for consumer protection and for food safety. There are high error rates in the conventional traceability systems depending on physical labels. Genetic traceability technique depending on DNA-based tracking system can overcome this problem. Genealogy information is essential for genetic traceability, and microsatellite DNA marker is a good choice for pedigree analysis. As increasing genotyping throughput of microsatellites, microsatellite multiplex PCR has become a fast and cost-effective technique. As a commercially important cultured aquatic species, Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas has the highest global production. The objective of this study was to develop microsatellite multiplex PCR panels with dye-labeled universal primer for pedigree analysis in C. gigas, and these multiplex PCRs were validated using 12 full-sib families with known pedigrees. Here we developed six informative multiplex PCRs using 18 genomic microsatellites in C. gigas. Each multiplex panel contained a single universal primer M13(-21) used as a tail on each locus-specific forward primer and a single universal primer M13(-21) labeled with fluorophores. The polymorphisms of the markers were moderate, with an average of 10.3 alleles per locus and average polymorphic information content of 0.740. The observed heterozygosity per locus ranged from 0.492 to 0.822. Cervus simulations revealed that the six panels would still be of great value when massive families were analysed. Pedigree analysis of real offspring demonstrated that 100% of the offspring were unambiguously allocated to their parents when two multiplex PCRs were used. 17Thermal studies of novel molecular perovskite energetic material(C_(6)H_(14)N_(2))[NH_(4)(ClO_(4))_(3)]显示文摘(C6H(14)N2)[NH4(ClO4)3] is a newly developed porous hybrid inorganic-organic framework material with easy access and excellent detonation performances,however,its thermal properties is still unclear and severely hampered further applications.In this study,thermal behaviors and non-isothermal decomposition reaction kinetics of(C6H(14)N2)[NH4(ClO4)3] were investigated systematically by the combination of differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and simultaneous thermal analysis methods.In-situ FTIR spectroscopy technology was applied for investigation of the structure changes of(C6H(14)N2) NH4(ClO4)3]and some selected referents for better understanding of interactions between different components during the heating process.Experiment results indicated that the novel molecular perovskite structure renders(C6H(14)N2)[NH4(ClO4)3] better thermal stability than most of currently used energetic materials.Underhigh temperature s,the stability of the cage skeleton constructed by NH4^+and ClO4^-ions determined the decomposition process rather than organic moiety confined in the skeleton.The simple synthetic method,good detonation performances and excellent thermal properties make(C6H(14)N2)[NH4(ClO4)3] an ideal candidate for the preparation of advanced explosives and propellants.Jing Zhou Li Ding Fengqi Zhao Bozhou Wang Junlin Zhang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,2:5
18Relationships Between Evacuation Population Size, Earthquake Emergency Shelter Capacity, and Evacuation Time显示文摘Determining the location of earthquake emergency shelters and the allocation of affected population to them are key issues that face shelter planning and emergency management. To solve this emergency shelter location–allocation problem, evacuation time and the construction cost of shelters—both influenced by the evacuation population size and its spatial distribution—are two important considerations. In this article, a mathematical model with two objectives—to minimize total weighted evacuation time(TWET) and total shelter area(TSA)—is allied with a modified particle swarm optimization algorithm to address the problem. The relationships between evacuation population size, evacuation time, and total shelter area are examined using Jinzhan Town in Chaoyang District of Beijing, China, as a case study. The results show that TWET has a power function relationship with TSA under different population size scenarios, and a linear function applies between evacuation population and TWET under different TSAs. The joint relationships of TSA, TWET, and population size show that TWET increases with population increase and TSA decrease, and compared with TSA, population influences TWET more strongly. 19CO_(2) mineralization of carbide slag for the production of light calcium carbonates显示文摘The production of polyvinyl chloride by calcium carbide method is a typical chemical process with high coal consumption,leading to massive flue gas and carbide slag emissions.Currently,the carbide slag with high CaO content is usually stacked in residue field,easily draining away with the rain and corroding the soil.In this work,we coupled the treatment of flue gas and carbide slag to propose a facile CO_(2)mineralization route to prepare light calcium carbonate.And the route feasibility was comprehensively evaluated via experiments and simulation.Through experimental investigation,the Ca^(2+) leaching and mineralization reaction parameters were determined.Based on the experiment,a process was built and optimized through Aspen Plus,and the energy was integrated to obtain the overall process energy and material consumption.Finally,the net CO_(2)emission reduction rate of the entire process through the life-cycle assessment method was analyzed.Moreover,the relationship between the parameters and the CO_(2)emission life-cycle assessment was established.The final optimization results showed that the mineralization process required 1154.69 kW·h·(t CO_(2))^(-1) of energy(including heat energy of 979.32 kW·h·(t CO_(2))^(-1) and electrical energy of 175.37 kW·h·(t CO_(2))^(-1)),and the net CO_(2)emission reduction rate was 35.8%.The light CaCO_(3)product can be sold as a high value-added product.According to preliminary economic analysis,the profit of mineralizing can reach more than 2,100 CNY·(t CO_(2))^(-1).Tongyang Zhang Guanrun Chu Junlin Lyu Yongda Cao Wentao Xu Kui Ma Lei Song Hairong Yue Bin Liang 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,3:4
20A New Material of Lindera (Lauraceae) of the Late Pliocene from Tengchong, Yunnan and the Genus' Biogeography Significance显示文摘Lindera is a large genus of graceful, pleasantly scented and common native trees and shrubs of southern China and neighboring regions of SE Asia. There is a well-documented Cenozoic fossil record not only in these regions but also from elsewhere. A new fossil leaf record has been found in diatomite beds from the Upper Pliocene Mangbang Formation of Tuantian, Tengchong County, Yunnan. The leaves are identified and assigned to Lindera acuminatissima K. Q. Dao et B. N. Sun sp. nov., by comparing their leaf architecture and epidermal characteristics with those of 51 extant Lauraceae species and with 15 known fossil Lindera taxa. The specimens have well-preserved cuticles, with typical leaf architecture and epidermal characteristics of the Lauraceae, including entire leaf margin, intramarginal veins, basal ternate acrodromous primary veins, one-cell trichome base, paracytic stomatal apparatus, sunken guard cells, subsidiary hardly staining cells and presence of oil cells. These characteristics are consistent with Lindera sect. Daphnidium but are different from reported fossil and extant species of Lindera. The cuticles of Lindera are fragile and delicate with only three Lindera fossils reported based on this tissue. In terms of paleobiogeography, the fossil record indicates that Lindera is distributed in high- to mid-latitude regions of the Late Cretaceous to Paleocene northern hemisphere. Coincidentally, the records of Lindera located on both sides of the Bering Land Bridge possibly support the hypothesis that ancient plants extended via transcontinental exchanges through the Bering Corridor. In the Eocene, ancient Lindera spread to Europe through the Northern Degeer Route and the Southern Thulian Route. At the same time, ancient Lindera spread into Central Asia. Climatic changes and tectonization since the Neogene prevented the propagation of Lindera throughout Asia, North America and Europe, and hence the distribution areas have just regressed to the low-latitude regions in Asia and North America. From the Paleogene to the Neogene, Lindera has changed its distribution by surviving extreme climate changes. Quaternary glaciations ultimately led to Lindera becoming extinct in Europe.
