1A 3D bounding surface model for rockfill materials显示文摘A 3D bounding surface model is established for rockfill materials,which can be applied to appropriately predict the deformation and the stabilization of rockfill dams.Firstly,an associated plastic flow rule for rockfill materials is investigated based on the elaborate data from the large-style triaxial compression tests and the true triaxial tests.Secondly,the constitutive equations of the 3D bounding surface model are established by several steps.These steps include the bounding surface incorporating the general nonlinear strength criterion,stress-dilatancy equations,the evolution of the bounding surface and the bounding surface plasticity.Finally,the 3D bounding surface model is used to predict the mechanical behaviors of rockfill materials from the large-style triaxial compression tests and the true triaxial tests.Consequently,the proposed 3D bounding surface model can well capture such behaviors of rockfill materials as the strain hardening,the post-peak strain softening,and the volumetric strain contraction and expansion in both two-and three-dimensional stress spaces.XIAO Yang LIU HanLong ZHU JunGao SHI WeiCheng LIU MengCheng 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,11:16
2Modeling and behaviours of rockfill materials in three-dimensional stress space显示文摘A bounding surface model incorporating a unified nonlinear strength criterion is proposed.The proposed bounding surface model contains 9 model parameters,which can be determined from the conventional triaxial tests.The bounding surface model can reproduce such behaviours as the strain hardening,the post-peak strain softening,and the volumetric strain contraction and expansion.Based on the comparisons between the predictions and the test results,the proposed strength criterion and model can well reproduce the experimental results of the strength and stress-strain behaviours of rockfill material in three-dimensional stress space.The strength behaviour of rockfill material is summarized as:(a) the failure stress ratio decreases with the initial confining pressure on the meridian plane;(b) the failure deviatoric stress decreases with the Lode angle from 0o to 60o on the deviatoric plane.The stress ratio decreases with increasing one of such factors as the initial void ratio,the intermediate principal stress ratio and the minor principal stress at the same strain when the other factors are given.XIAO Yang LIU HanLong ZHU JunGao SHI WeiCheng 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,10:10

4Behavior of compacted clay-concrete interface显示文摘Tests of interface between compacted clay and concrete were conducted systematically using interface simple shear test apparatus.The samples,having same dry density with different water content ratio,were prepared.Two types of concrete with different surface roughness,i.e.,relatively smooth and relatively rough surface roughness,were also prepared.The main objectives of this paper are to show the effect of water content,normal stress and rough surface on the shear stress-shear displacement relationship of clay-concrete interface.The following were concluded in this study:1)the interface shear sliding dominates the interface shear displacement behavior for both cases of relatively rough and smooth concrete surface except when the clay water content is greater than 16%for the case of rough concrete surface where the shear failure occurs in the body of the clay sample;2)the results of interface shear strength obtained by direct shear test were different from that of simple shear test for the case of rough concrete surface;3)two types of interface failure mechanism may change each other with different water content ratio;4)the interface shear strength increases with increasing water content ratio especially for the case of clay-rough concrete surface interface.R.R.SHAKIR Jungao ZHU 2009Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2009,3,1:3
5An experiment study of vortex induced vibration of a steel catenary riser under steady current显示文摘The vortex induced vibration(VIV)of marine risers has been investigated by many researchers in experimental studies of a straight flexible riser model as well as a rigid cylinder to reveal the dynamic response characteristic and the mechanics behind it.However,due to the limitation of experimental apparatus,very few studies are about the VIV of a steel catenary riser(SCR)which is with a complex geometry.To investigate the VTV features and to further develop the corresponding numerical predictions of a SCR under steady current,a large-scale model test of a SCR was towed in an ocean basin at various speeds.Fiber Bragg grating strain sensors are instrumented on the riser model to measure both in-plane and out-of-plane responses.The characteristics of oscillating amplitude and dominating frequency response,the phenomenon of mode competition and travelling wave and the fatigue damage of the steel catenary riser in inline and cross-flow direction under steady current are analyzed.Tie Ren Yu-wang Xu Jungao Wang Hao-jie Ren Meng-meng Zhang Shi-xiao Fu Yao-song Chen 2020Journal of Hydrodynamics2020,32,5:1
6Hepatitis B virus S gene enhances immune responses of a multiple-epitope DNA construct of hepatitis C virus in mice显示文摘The purpose of this study was to construct an eukaryotic DNA vector encoding a multiple-epitope antigen (MFC) of hepatitis C virus (HCV) and a hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) , and explore the effect of HBsAg gene on the immunity of HCV multiple-epitope DNA construct in vitro and in vivo in mice. An HCV DNA vector (pVAX1-HBs-MFC) was constructed by fusing HBsAg gene to the N-terminal of an HCV multiple-epitope antigen gene. The pVAX1-HBs-MFC was transfected into HEK 293T cells and its expression was measured by ELISA and Western blotting. BALB/c mice were intramuscularly immunized with the pVAX1-HBs-MFC, and an ELISA approach was applied to determine the specific antibody titers and subtypes in the mouse serum. The cross-reactivity of the antibodies was also checked with two synthesized HCV hypervariable region 1 (HVR1) peptides. The IFN-γ production and cell proliferation of the mouse spleen cells were evaluated by ELISA and MTS (3-[4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-5-[3-carboxymethoxyphenyl]-2-[4-sulfophenyl] -2H-tetrazolium, inner salt) assays, respectively. The expression of pVAX1-HBs-MFC was detectable in the transfected HEK 293T cells. The serum antibody response was effectively elicited in BALB/c mice injected with pVAX1-HBs-MFC. The highest titer of antibody against HCV (MFC) was 1∶1280, and the ratio of IgG2a/IgG1 was 1.50±0.12 at the fifth week after first immunization. Moreover, the collected mouse serum antibody had the ability to cross-react with the two synthesized HCV HVR1 peptides. The stimulation index of the mouse splenocytes to MFC was 1.79 ±0.07, and the IFN-γ level was 287±6?pg/ml at week 21 after first immunization. The highest titer of the antibody in control BALB/c mice immunized with pVAX1-MFC was 1∶320, and the ratio of IgG2a/IgG1 was 1.33±0.11 at week 5 post-immunization. Furthermore, the stimulation index of the mouse splenocytes cells to MFC was 1.52±0.06, and the IFN-γ level was 225±9.3?pg/ml at week 21 post-immunization. The HBsAg gene can enhance the effects of an HCV multiple-epitope DNA construct on its humoral and cellular immune responses. 11Overcritical electron acceleration and betatron radiation in the bubble-like structure formed by re-injected electrons in a tailored transverse plasma显示文摘We present a novel scheme for dense electron acceleration driven by the laser irradiation of a near-critical-density plasma.The electron reflux effect in a transversely tailored plasma is particularly enhanced in the area of peak density.We observe a bubble-like distribution of re-injected electrons,which forms a strong quasistatic electromagnetic field that can accelerate electrons longitudinally while also preserving the electron transverse emittance.Simulation results demonstrate that over-dense electrons could be trapped in such an artificial bubble and accelerated to an energy of ~500 MeV.The obtained relativistic electron beam can reach a total charge of up to 0.26 nC and is well collimated with a small divergence of 17 mrad.Moreover,the wavelength of electron oscillation is noticeably reduced due to the shaking of the bubble structure in the laser field.As a result,the energy of the produced photons is substantially increased to the range.This new regime provides a path to generating high-charge electron beams and high-energy-ray sources.Yuan Zhao Haiyang Lu Cangtao Zhou Jungao Zhu 2023Matter and Radiation at Extremes2023,8,1:0
12Nonlinear elastic model for compacted clay concrete interface显示文摘In this paper,a nonlinear elastic model was developed to simulate the behavior of compacted clay concrete interface(CCCI)based on the principle of transition mechanism failure(TMF).A number of simple shear tests were conducted on CCCI to demonstrate different failure mechanisms;i.e.,sliding failure and deformation failure.The clay soil used in the test was collected from the'Shuang Jang Kou'earth rockfill dam project.It was found that the behavior of the interface depends on the critical water contents by which two failure mechanisms can be recognized.Mathematical relations were proposed between the shear at failure and water content in addition to the transition mechanism indicator.The mathematical relations were then incorporated into the interface model.The performance of the model is verified with the experimental results.The verification shows that the proposed model is capable of predicting the interface shear stress versus the total shear displacement very well.R.R.SHAKIR Jungao ZHU 2009Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2009,3,2:0
