1Characterization of expressed genes in the establishment of arbuscular mycorrhiza between Amorpha fruticosa and Glomus mosseae显示文摘Arbuscular mycorrhiza(AM) formed between plant roots and fungi is one of the most widespread symbiotic associations in nature. To understand the molecular mechanisms of AM formation, we profiled 30 symbiosis-related genes expressed in Amorpha fruticosa roots colonized by Glomus mosseae and in non-mycorrhizal roots at different stages using differential-display RT-PCR(DDRT-PCR). The expressed genes were confirmed by reverse Northern blotting. Eleven fragments were sequenced and putatively identified by homologous alignment. Of the eleven AM-related genes, five were obtained at the early-stage of plant-fungus interaction and six at the later stage. Three expressed sequence tag(ESTs) sequences were found to originate from the fungi and eight from the host plant by use of PCR evaluation of gDNA of both plant and fungi. The target genes included an ATP-binding cassette sub-family transporter gene, a transposon-insertion display band, and a photosynthesis-related gene. 2Characterization of effects of thermal property of aggregate on the carbon footprint of asphalt industries in China显示文摘In this study,the effects of the thermal properties of asphalt binders and aggregate materials were characterized in terms of the specific heat capacity(C) for energy consumption and environmental footprints of hot mix asphalt(HMA) and warm mix asphalt(WMA).Asphalt mixes produced using low-C aggregate are found to be more energy-efficient and environmental friendly,irrespective of the binder type and construction technology.Therefore,different fractions of aggregate blends were replaced with the aggregate provided from a low-C source or sustainable source.Analysis of energy consumption clearly indicated that the specific energy and environmental footprints decrease linearly as the low-C aggregate content increases.The amount of energy saving realized in the asphalt industries by the use of low-C aggregate is significant on a national scale in China.In this regard,China was chosen as a case study.Analysis of fuel requirement clearly indicated that the production of WMA using high thermal sensitivity aggregate can yield significant energy saving sufficient to fuel 44,007 to 664,880 Chinese households per year.Therefore,use of low C aggregate in asphalt mix production can be adopted as a strategy to produce WMA and HMA.Ali Jamshidi Kiyofumi Kurumisawa Toyoharu Nawa Jize Mao Ben Li 2017Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2017,4,2:1
3Simulation of strong earthquake characteristics of a scenario earthquake(M_(S)7.5)based on the enlightenment of 2022 M_(S)6.9 earthquake in Menyuan显示文摘The Menyuan area is an important transportation hub in the Hexi Corridor.The Menyuan M_(S)6.9 earthquake that occurred on January 8,2022 had a major impact on the local infrastructure and transportation of this region.Due to the high possibility of similar strong earthquakes occurring in this area in the future,preliminary assessment of the seismic intensity characteristics of destructive earthquakes in this region is essential for effective disaster control.This paper uses the empirical Green′s function(EGF)method as a numerical simulation tool to predict the ground motion intensity of Datong Autonomous County under the action of the scenario earthquake(M_(S)7.5).Seismic records of aftershocks of the 2016 Menyuan M_(S)6.4 earthquake were used as Green’s functions for this simulation.The uncertainties associated with various source parameters were considered,and 36possible earthquake scenarios were simulated to obtain 72 sets of horizontal ground motions in Datong County.The obtained peak ground acceleration(PGA)vs.time histories of the horizontal ground motion were screened using the attenuation relationships provided by the fifth-edition of China’s Seismic Ground Motion Parameter Zoning Map and the NGA-West2dataset.Ultimately,32 possible acceleration-time histories were selected for further analysis.The screened PGA values ranged from 78.8 to 153 cm/s^(2).The uncertainty associated with the initial rupture point was found to greatly affect the results of the earthquake simulation.The average acceleration spectrum of the selected acceleration-time history exceeded the expected spectrum of a intermediate earthquake,which means that buildings in Datong County might sustain some damage should the scenario earthquake occur.This research can provide reliable ground motion input for urban earthquake damage simulation and seismic design in Datong County.Growing the dataset of small earthquakes recorded in this region will facilitate the large-scale simulation of ground motions under different earthquake scenarios.Zhiwei Ji Zongchao Li Mengtan Gao Jize Sun Xiangyun Guo 2022Earthquake Science2022,35,6:0
4Frequency-tunable microwave quantum light source based on superconducting quantum circuits显示文摘A non-classical light source is essential for implementing a wide range of quantum information processing protocols,including quantum computing,networking,communication and metrology.In the microwave regime,propagating photonic qubits,which transfer quantum information between multiple superconducting quantum chips,serve as building blocks for large-scale quantum computers.In this context,spectral control of propagating single photons is crucial for interfacing different quantum nodes with varied frequencies and bandwidths.Here a deterministic microwave quantum light source was demonstrated based on superconducting quantum circuits that can generate propagating single photons,time-bin encoded photonic qubits and qudits.In particular,the frequency of the emitted photons can be tuned in situ as large as 200 MHz.Even though the internal quantum efficiency of the light source is sensitive to the working fre-quency,it is shown that the fidelity of the propagating photonic qubit can be well preserved with the time-bin encoding scheme.This work thus demonstrates a versatile approach to realizing a practical quantum light source for future distributed quantum computing.Yan Li Zhiling Wang Zenghui Bao Yukai Wu Jiahui Wang Jize Yang Haonan Xiong Yipu Song Hongyi Zhang Luming Duan 2023Chip2023,2,3:0
