| 1 | Accuracy of triage strategies for human papillomavirus DNA-positive women in low-resource settings:A cross-sectional study in China显示文摘Objective: Care HPV is a human papillomavirus(HPV) DNA test for low-resource settings(LRS).This study assesses optimum triage strategies for care HPV-positive women in LRS.Methods: A total of 2,530 Chinese women were concurrently screened for cervical cancer with visual inspection with acetic acid(VIA),liquid-based cytology and HPV testing by physician-and self-collected care HPV,and physician-collected Hybrid Capture 2(HC2).Screen-positive women were referred to colposcopy with biopsy and endocervical curettage as necessary.HPV-positivity was defined as ≥1.0 relative light units/cutoff(RLU/CO) for both care HPV and HC2.Primary physician-HC2,physician-care HPV and self-care HPV and in sequential screening with cytology,VIA,or increased HPV test-positivity performance,stratified by age,were assessed for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN) grade 2/3 or worse(CIN2/3+) detection.Results: The sensitivities and specificities of primary HPV testing for CIN2+ were: 83.8%,88.1% for physiciancare HPV; 72.1%,88.2% for self-care HPV; and 97.1%,86.0% for HC2.Physician-care HPV test-positive women with VIA triage had a sensitivity of 30.9% for CIN2+ versus 80.9% with cytology triage.Self-care HPV testpositive women with VIA triage was 26.5% versus 66.2% with cytology triage.The sensitivity of HC2 test-positive women with VIA triage was 38.2% versus 92.6% with cytology triage.The sensitivity of physician-care HPV testing for CIN2+ decreased from 83.8% at ≥1.0 RLU/CO to 72.1% at ≥10.00 RLU/CO,while the sensitivity of selfcare HPV testing decreased from 72.1% at ≥1.0 RLU/CO to 32.4% at ≥10.00 RLU/CO; similar trends were seen with age-stratification.Conclusions: VIA and cytology triage improved specificity for CIN2/3 than no triage.Sensitivity with VIA triage was unsuitable for a mass-screening program.VIA provider training might improve this strategy.Cytology triage could be feasible where a high-quality cytology program exists.Triage of HPV test-positive women by increased test positivity cutoff adds another LRS triage option. | Margaret Wang Shangying Hu Shuang Zha o Wenhua Zhang Qinjing Pan Xun Zhang FengChen Jinxiu Han Junfei Ma Jennifer S.Smith Youlin Qiao Caihong Zhou Fanghui Zhao | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,6: | 6 |
| 2 | Bioinspired iron porphyrins with appended poly-pyridine/amine units for boosted electrocatalytic CO_(2) reduction reaction显示文摘Developing highly efficient electrocatalysts for the CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)has attracted increasing interest in the past decade.Herein,we report on the design and synthesis of Fe porphyrin 1 with an appended N,N-di(2-picolyl)ethylenediamine(DPEN)unit that boosts electrocatalytic activity for CO_(2)-to-CO conversion in acetonitrile with water as the proton source.By mimicking carbon monoxide dehydrogenase(CODH),1 has poly-pyridine/amine units located at the active site to form hydrogen-bonded water-containing networks that enable fast proton transfer.The protonated and positively charged DPEN unit can also stabilize CO_(2) reduction intermediates through electrostatic and hydrogen-bonding interactions.These factors make 1 a highly active electrocatalyst for the CO_(2)RR by achieving a TOFmax of 5.0×10^(4)s^(−1) with water providing the protons.These critical roles of the DPEN unit in the CO_(2)RR are further supported by theoretical studies.This work is significant to highlight the benefits of using molecular catalysts to elucidate structural effects. | Jinxiu Han Ni Wang Xialiang Li Haitao Lei Yabo Wang Hongbo Guo Xiaotong Jin Qingxin Zhang Xinyang Peng Xue-Peng Zhang Wei Zhang Ulf-Peter Apfel Rui Cao | 2022 | eScience2022,2,6: | 0 |
| 3 | Cardiac cell type-specific responses to injury and contributions to heart regeneration显示文摘Heart disease is the leading cause of mortality worldwide.Due to the limited proliferation rate of mature cardiomyocytes,adult mammalian hearts are unable to regenerate damaged cardiac muscle following injury.Instead,injured area is replaced by fibrotic scar tissue,which may lead to irreversible cardiac remodeling and organ failure.In contrast,adult zebrafish and neonatal mammalian possess the capacity for heart regeneration and have been widely used as experimental models.Recent studies have shown that multiple types of cells within the heart can respond to injury with the activation of distinct signaling pathways.Determining the specific contributions of each cell type is essential for our understanding of the regeneration network organization throughout the heart.In this review,we provide an overview of the distinct functions and coordinated cell behaviors of several major cell types including cardiomyocytes,endocardial cells,epicardial cells,fibroblasts,and immune cells.The topic focuses on their specific responses and cellular plasticity after injury,and potential therapeutic applications. | Weijia Zhang Jinxiu Liang Peidong Han | 2021 | Cell Regeneration2021,10,1: | 0 |
| 4 | Fluoro-ruby retrograde tracing and three-dimensional visualization of the corticospinal tract in the guinea pig显示文摘Fluoro-ruby was injected into the posterior funiculus of the spinal cord in the cervical(C5-T2) and lumbar(L3-6) segments of adult guinea pigs.The spinal cord was cut into serial frozen sections.The Fluoro-ruby labeling was clearly delineated from the surrounding structure.The labeling traversed the cervical,thoracic and lumbar segments,and was located on the ventral portion of the posterior funiculus on the injected side,proximal to the intermediate zone of the dorsal gray matter.The fluorescence area narrowed rostro-caudally.The spinal cord,spinal cord gray matter and corticospinal tract were reconstructed using 3D-DOCTOR 4.0 software,resulting in a robust three-dimensional profile.Using functionality provided by the reconstruction software,free multi-angle observation and sectioning could be conducted on the spinal cord and corticospinal tract.Our experimental findings indicate that the Fluoro-ruby retrograde fluorescent tracing technique can accurately display the anatomical location of corticospinal tract in the guinea pig and that three-dimensional reconstruction software can be used to provide a three-dimensional image of the corticospinal tract. | Xiao Han Lulian Xu Yue Wu Hua Xun Jinxiu Pan Yingying Huang Dafeng Ji Huiqun Wu Guangming Lv Lemin Tang | 2012 | Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,5: | 0 |
