The definition of effective emissivity of land surface at the scale of remote sensing pixels显示文摘Remote sensing (RS) of land surface temperature (LST) is a very challenging problem at the present development stage of RS science. Tremendous efforts have been devoted to atmosphere correction and temperature emissivity separation (TES) of new LST product algorithms. However, the mechanism of directionality of thermal emission from land surface remains unknown, and even worse, there are confusions on the definition of the effective emissivity of land surface at the scale of RS pixels. | 2 | Information flow and controlling in regularization inversion of quantitative remote sensing显示文摘In order to minimize uncertainty of the inversed parameters to the largest extent by making full use of the limited information in remote sensing data, it is necessary to understand what the information flow in quantitative remote sensing model inversion is, thus control the information flow. Aiming at this, the paper takes the linear kernel-driven model inversion as an example. At first, the information flow in different inversion methods is calculated and analyzed, then the effect of information flow controlled by multi-stage inversion strategy is studied, finally, an information matrix based on USM is defined to control information flow in inversion. It shows that using Shannon entropy decrease of the inversed parameters can express information flow more properly. Changing the weight of a priori knowledge in inversion or fixing parameters and partitioning datasets in multi-stage inversion strategy can control information flow. In regularization inversion of remote sensing, information matrix based on USM may be a better tool for quantitatively controlling information flow. | YANG Hua, XU Wangli, ZHAO Hongrui, CHEN Xue & WANG Jindi Research Center for Remote Sensing and GIS, School of Geography, Beijing Normal University, State Key Laboratory of Remote Sensing Science, Beijing Key Laboratory for Remote Sensing of Environment and Digital Cities, Beijing 100875, China Department of Mathematics, Beijing Normal University, Beijing 100875, China | 2005 | Science China Earth Sciences2005,48,1: | 12
Improvement of Dark Object Method in Atmospheric Correction of hyperspectral remotely sensed data显示文摘The existing methods in atmospheric correction of hyperspectral data usually focus on removing the effects of water vapor and other absorptive gases, while this paper mainly studies the method of re- moving the influence of the aerosol and the water vapor simultaneously. Because the hyperspectral data has a larger number of bands, the conventional dark object method cannot be applied to the at- mospheric correction of the hyperspectral data which can be improved, as described in this paper, by adequately making use of spectral characteristics of the hyperspectral data with an iterative correction during the whole process. The effects of the aerosol and water vapor are eliminated at the same time finally. The improved dark object method is used to do the atomospheric correction of the Hyperion data in Yanzhou, Shandong Province as an example. And the result indicates that it can correct the atmospheric influence of the hyperspectral data quickly and remarkably. | ZHAO Xiang LIANG ShunLin LIU SuHong WANG JinDi QIN Jun LI Qing LI XiaoWen | 2008 | Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,3: | 8
Spatial and temporal distributions of nitrogen, phosphorus and heavy metals in the intertidal sediment of the Chang jiang River Estuary in China显示文摘Spatial and temporal distributions of nutrients(N and P) and heavy metals(Cu,Zn,Pb and Cd) in the intertidal sediments at Dongtan wetland of the Changjiang River(Yangtze River) Estuary were examined by laying one transect running seaward to landward during January,April,June,August and October of 2005. Total nitrogen(TN) and heavy metal concentrations in the intertidal sediment showed an increasing trend from open bare flat to the high marsh, with the maximum concentrations in the high marsh and the minimum values in open bare flat. In contrast, sediment total phosphorus(TP) concentrations changed little among sampling sites. One-way ANOVA found that there were significantly temporal variations of nutrients and heavy metals concentrations in the intertidal sediment(P <0.05) . The concentrations of heavy metals generally showed an increasing trend from January to October. As compared with other large estuaries, heavy metal contamination in the intertidal sediment of the Changjiang River Estuary was relatively low. | QUAN Weimin SHI Liyan HAN Jindi PING Xianyin SHEN Anglv CHEN Yaqu | 2010 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2010,29,1: | 7

On the effective inversion by imposing a priori information for retrieval of land surface parameters显示文摘The anisotropy of the land surface can be best described by the bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF). As the field of multiangular remote sensing advances, it is increasingly probable that BRDF models can be inverted to estimate the important biological or climatological parameters of the earth surface such as leaf area index and albedo. The state-of-the-art of BRDF is the use of the linear kernel-driven models, mathematically described as the linear combination of the isotropic kernel, volume scattering kernel and geometric optics kernel. The computational stability is characterized by the algebraic operator spectrum of the kernel-matrix and the observation errors. Therefore, the retrieval of the model coefficients is of great importance for computation of the land surface albedos. We first consider the smoothing solution method of the kernel-driven BRDF models for retrieval of land surface albedos. This is known as an ill-posed inverse problem. The ill-posedness arises from that the linear kernel driven BRDF model is usually underdetermined if there are too few looks or poor directional ranges, or the observations are highly dependent. For example, a single angular observation may lead to an under-determined system whose solution is infinite (the null space of the kernel operator contains nonzero vectors) or no solution (the rank of the coefficient matrix is not equal to the augmented matrix). Therefore, some smoothing or regularization technique should be applied to suppress the ill-posedness. So far, least squares error methods with a priori knowledge, QR decomposition method for inversion of the BRDF model and regularization theories for ill-posed inversion were developed. In this paper, we emphasize on imposing a priori information in different spaces. We first propose a gen-eral a priori imposed regularization model problem, and then address two forms of regularization scheme. The first one is a regularized singular value decomposition method, and then we propose a retrieval method in l1 space. We show that the proposed method is suitable for solving land surface parameter retrieval problem if the sampling data are poor. Numerical experiments are also given to show the efficiency of the proposed methods. | WANG YanFei MA ShiQian YANG Hua WANG JinDi LI XiaoWen | 2009 | Science China Earth Sciences2009,52,4: | 4

Principle and application of three-band gradient difference vegetation index显示文摘Vegetation index is a simple, effective and experiential measurement of terrestrial vegetation activity, and plays a very important role in qualitative and quantitative remote sensing. Aiming at shortages of current vegetation indices, and starting from the analysis of vegetation spectral characteristics, we put forward a new vegetation index, the three-band gradient difference vegetation index (TGDVI), and established algorithms to inverse crown cover fraction and leaf area index (LAI) from it. Theoretical analysis and model simulation show that TGDVI has high saturation point and the ability to remove the influence of background to some degree, and the explicit functional relation with crown cover fraction and LAI can be established. Moreover, study shows that TGDVI also has the ability to partly remove the influence of thin cloud. Experiment in the Shunyi District, Beijing, China shows that reasonable result can be reached using the vegetation index to retrieve LAI. We also theoretically analyzed the reason why the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) owns the low saturation point, and show that it is determined by the definition of NDVI and the characteristic of vegetation spectra, and is unavoidable to some degree. Meanwhile, through model simulation, we also indicate that the relationship between simple ratio vegetation index (SR) and LAI closes to a piecewise linear one instead of a linear one, which is mainly caused by the influence of background and different change rates of reflectance in red and infrared bands with LAI increasing. | TANG Shihao, ZHU Qijiang, WANG Jindi, ZHOU Yuyu & ZHAO Feng Research Center for Remote Sensing and GIS, Department of Geography, Beijing Normal University, Beijing 100875, China National Satellite Meteorological Center, China Meteorological Administration, Beijing 100081, China | 2005 | Science China Earth Sciences2005,48,2: | 4
High Spatial Resolution and High Temporal Frequency(30-m/15-day) Fractional Vegetation Cover Estimation over China Using Multiple Remote Sensing Datasets:Method Development and Validation显示文摘High spatial resolution and high temporal frequency fractional vegetation cover(FVC) products have been increasingly in demand to monitor and research land surface processes. This paper develops an algorithm to estimate FVC at a 30-m/15-day resolution over China by taking advantage of the spatial and temporal information from different types of sensors: the 30-m resolution sensor on the Chinese environment satellite(HJ-1) and the 1-km Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS). The algorithm was implemented for each main vegetation class and each land cover type over China. First, the high spatial resolution and high temporal frequency normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI) was acquired by using the continuous correction(CC) data assimilation method. Then, FVC was generated with a nonlinear pixel unmixing model. Model coefficients were obtained by statistical analysis of the MODIS NDVI. The proposed method was evaluated based on in situ FVC measurements and a global FVC product(GEOV1 FVC). Direct validation using in situ measurements at 97 sampling plots per half month in 2010 showed that the annual mean errors(MEs) of forest, cropland, and grassland were-0.025, 0.133, and 0.160, respectively, indicating that the FVCs derived from the proposed algorithm were consistent with ground measurements [R2 = 0.809,root-mean-square deviation(RMSD) = 0.065]. An intercomparison between the proposed FVC and GEOV1 FVC demonstrated that the two products had good spatial–temporal consistency and similar magnitude(RMSD approximates 0.1). Overall, the approach provides a new operational way to estimate high spatial resolution and high temporal frequency FVC from multiple remote sensing datasets. | Xihan MU Tian ZHAO Gaiyan RUAN Jinling SONG Jindi WANG Guangjian YAN Tim RMCVICAR Kai YAN Zhan GAO Yaokai LIU Yuanyuan WANG | 2021 | Journal of Meteorological Research2021,35,1: | 3
Pyrolysis behaviour and combustion kinetics of waste printed circuit boards显示文摘The effective recycling of waste printed circuit boards(WPCBs)can conserve resources and reduce environmental pollution. This study explores the pyrolysis and combustion characteristics of WPCBs in various atmospheres through thermogravimetric and Gaussian fitting analyses.Furthermore, this study analyses the pyrolysis products and combustion processes of WPCBs through thermogravimetric and Fourier transform infrared analyses(TG-FTIR)and thermogravimetry-mass spectrometry(TG-MS).Results show that the pyrolysis and combustion processes of WPCBs do not constitute a single reaction, but rather an overlap of multiple reactions. The pyrolysis and combustion process of WPCBs is divided into multiple reactions by Gaussian peak fitting. The kinetic parameters of each reaction are obtained by the Coats-Redfern method. In an argon atmosphere, pyrolysis consists of the overlap of the preliminary pyrolysis of epoxy resin, pyrolysis of small organic molecules, and pyrolysis of brominated flame retardants. The thermal decomposition process in the O_(2) atmosphere is mainly divided into two reactions:brominated flame retardant combustion and epoxy combustion. This study provided the theoretical basis for pollution control, process optimization, and reactor design of WPCBs pyrolysis. | Kang Yan Chongwei Liu Liping Liu Min Xiong Jiongtong Chen Zhongtang Zhang Shuiping Zhong Zhifeng Xu Jindi Huang | 2022 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,9: | 2
Desulfurization of Petroleum Coke by Calcination in Ammonia Atmosphere below 1000℃显示文摘The desulfurization efficiency and mechanism of the calcination of petroleum coke in ammonia atmosphere at lower than 1000 ℃ were investigated through a series of conditional experiments and comparison with other gases such as H_2. The topics of efficiency and reaction mechanism are usually discussed through investigation by means of the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET) technique, and the thermogravimetry coupled with the mass spectrometry(TG-MS). Results showed that in addition to H_2, ammonia not only could retain a high desulfurization rate but could also reduce coke loss during the desulfurization process of petroleum coke. The best desulfurization conditions covered a petroleum coke particle size of less than 0.1 mm, a calcination temperature of 800 ℃ in ammonia atmosphere with a flow rate of 10 L/h, and a heating duration of more than 120 min. Ammonia decomposition, H_2 generation, decline in the activation energy of the carbon–sulfur bonds, and petroleum coke with a largest specific surface area at 800 ℃ are the key goals of desulfurization studied thereby. As proved by TG-MS analysis, given a large quantity of H_2, ammonia can be decomposed at the same temperature to completely come into contact with the sulfur species in petroleum coke to generate H_2S. | Zhong Qifan Xiao Jin Huang Jindi Yuan Jie Yu Bailie | 2016 | China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2016,18,4: | 2
Lanthanum-dopedα-Ni(OH)_(2)1D-2D-3D hierarchical nanostructures for robust bifunctional electro-oxidation显示文摘The development of advanced electrocatalysts for electro-oxidation reactions has attracted much attention because of the critical role of such electrocatalysts in improving the overall efficiency of coupled hydrogen production. We have developed an efficient lanthanum-dopedα-Ni(OH)_(2) bifunctional catalyst with a 1D-2D-3D hierarchical nanostructure. It shows superior activity and stability in the anodic oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and urea oxidation reaction(UOR).Enrichment of the edge sites and conducting La doping inα-Ni(OH)_(2) phase enable formation and stabilization of abundant local Ni^(3+)ions.This guarantees ultralow onset potentials in electro-oxidation reactions. The 1D-2D-3D hierarchical nanostructure significantly boosts the in situ generation of high-valence active species, which results in efficient and stable OER and UOR performances, and the synergistic merit of doping-induced facile reaction kinetics.Because of the structural benefits of a large surface area,charge-transfer promotion, good structural stability, and bifunctionality,a 1%La-dopedα-Ni(OH)_(2) hierarchical nanostructure gives superior OER and UOR performances with low overpotentials, large catalytic current densities, and excellent operational stability. It is therefore a promising catalyst for use in simultaneous alkaline wastewater treatment and hydrogen production. | Zimeng Wei Wenbin Sun Shanshan Liu Jindi Qi Luyao Kang jiechen Li Shanshan Lou Junfeng Xie Bo Tanga Yi Xie | 2021 | Particuology2021,19,4: | 1
