Methane adsorption behavior on coal having different pore structures显示文摘The adsorption of methane onto five dry coal samples was measured at 298 K over the pressure range from 0 to 3.5 MPa using a volumetric method. The isotherm data were fitted to the Langmuir and the Freundlich equations. The kinetic data were fitted to a pseudo second order equation, the linear driving force equation(LDF),and an intra-particle diffusion model. These results showed that higher methane adsorption is correlated with larger micro-pore volumes and specific surface areas. The adsorption was related to the narrow micro-pore size distribution when the previous two parameters are large. The kinetics study showed that the kinetics of methane adsorption onto these five dry coal samples followed a pseudo second order model very well.Methane adsorption rates are controlled by intra-particle diffusion. The faster the intra-particle diffusion, the faster the methane adsorption rate will be. | Zhao Yi Jiang Chengfa Chu Wei | 2012 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2012,22,6: | 7
Low-temperature CO oxidation over CuO-CeO_2/SiO_2 catalysts:Effect of CeO_2 content and carrier porosity显示文摘The effects of CeO2 contents and silica carrier porosity with their pore diameters ranging from 5.2 nm to 12.5 nm of CuO-CeO2/SiO2 cata-lysts in CO oxidation were investigated. The catalysts were characterized by N2 adsorption/desorption at low temperature,X-ray diffraction (XRD),temperature-programmed reduction by H2 (H2-TPR),oxygen temperature programmed desorption (O2-TPD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).The results suggested that, the ceria content and the porosity of SiO2 carrier possessed great impacts on the structures and catalytic performances of CuO-CeO2/SiO2 catalysts. When appropriate content of CeO2 (Ce content 8 wt%) was added, the catalytic activity was greatly enhanced. In the catalyst supported on silica carrier with larger pore diameter, higher dispersion of CuO was observed, better agglomeration-resistant capacity was displayed and more lattice oxygen could be found, thus the CuO-CeO2 supported on Si-1 showed higher catalytic activity for low-temperature CO oxidation. | Jingjie Luo Wei Chu Huiyuan Xu Chengfa Jiang Tao Zhang | 2010 | Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2010,19,4: | 5
Oxidative dehydrogenation of propane over Ni-Mo-Mg-O catalysts显示文摘In this work, a series of Ni-Mo-Mg-O catalysts with mesoporous structure prepared by sol-gel method were investigated for the oxidative dehydrogenation of propane (ODHP). The techniques of temperature-programmed reduction with H2 (H2-TPR), N2 adsorption-desorption, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) were employed for catalyst characterization. It is found that the activity of the catalysts for ODHP increases first and then decreases with the increase of Mo content. The catalyst with a Mo/Ni atomic ratio of 1/1 exhibits the best catalytic activity, which gives the propene selectivity of 81.4% at a propane conversion of 11.3% under 600°C and maintains the good catalytic performance for 22 h on stream. This is related not only to its high reducibility and dispersion as revealed by TPR and XRD, but also to the formation of more selective oxygen species on the MoOx-NiO interface as identified by XPS. | Lin Wang Wei Chu Chengfa Jiang Yuefeng Liu Jie Wen Zaiku Xie | 2012 | Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2012,21,1: | 4
CO oxidation over Co_3O_4/SiO_2 catalysts:Effects of porous structure of silica and catalyst calcination temperature显示文摘The catalytic performances of Co3O4/SiO2 catalysts prepared by incipient wetness impregnation for CO oxidation were investigated using three kinds of silica as carriers with different pore sizes of 7.7,14.0 and 27.0 nm.The effects of calcination temperature on the catalyst surface and micro structure properties as well as catalytic performance for the oxidation of carbon monoxide were also studied. All catalysts were characterized by N2 adsorption-desorption,XRD,XPS,FTIR,H2-TPR and O2-TPD.It was found that the properties and crystal size of cobalt-containing species strongly depended on the pore size of silica carrier. While the silica pore size increased from 7.7 to 27.0 nm,the Co3O4 crystal size increased from 8.5 to 13.5 nm.Moreover,it was demonstrated that if the spinel crystal structure of Co3O4 was obtained at a calcination temperature as low as 150℃,the catalyst sample would have a high Co3O4 surface dispersion and an increase of surface active species, and thus exhibit a high activity for the oxidation of carbon monoxide. | Jian Zheng Wei Chu Hui Zhang Chengfa Jiang Xiaoyan Dai | 2010 | Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2010,19,6: | 4

Growth of carbon nanotubes on the novel FeCo-Al_2O_3 catalyst prepared by ultrasonic coprecipitation显示文摘FeCo-Al2O3 catalyst was prepared by an ultrasonic coprecipitation (UC) method for the growth of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) from catalytic decomposition of methane. Its catalytic performance was compared with that of the FeCo-Al2O3 catalyst counterparts prepared by stepwise impregnation (I) and conventional coprecipitation (C) methods, respectively. The structure and properties of the catalysts and the CNTs as produced thereon were investigated by means of XRD,XPS,TEM and N2 adsorption techniques. It was found that the catalyst prepared by the ultrasonic coprecipitation method was more active, and the yield and purity of the synthesized CNTs were promoted evidently. The XPS results revealed that there were more active components on the surface of the catalyst prepared by the ultrasonic coprecipitation method. On the other hand,N2 adsorption demonstrated that the catalyst prepared by the ultrasonic coprecipitation method conferred larger specific surface area, which was beneficial to dispersion of active components.TEM images further confirmed its higher dispersion. These factors could be responsible for its higher activity for the growth of CNTs from catalytic decomposition of methane. | Jie Wen Wei Chu Chengfa Jiang Dongge Tong | 2010 | Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2010,19,2: | 2
Effects of ultrasonic impregnation combined with calcination in N_2 atmosphere on the property of Co_3O_4/CeO_2 composites for catalytic methane combustion显示文摘Co_3O_4/CeO_2 composites with high surface areas and ultrafine crystalline sizes for catalytic combustion of methane were firstly prepared by a new sol-gel method which combined ultrasonic impregnation treatment and calcination in N_2 atmosphere. The samples were characterized by various means such as nitrogen adsorption/desorption, X-ray diffraction(XRD), H_2 temperature-programmed reduction(H_2-TPR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). Results showed that the modified catalyst had the mesoporous structure, comparatively higher amount of surface oxygen and larger oxygen vacancies than others. As a result of the structure and surface composition merits, a high methane combustion conversion(50%) could be obtained at a low temperature of 262 °C for the modified Co_3O_4/CeO_2 composites catalysts. The experimental results demonstrated that ultrasonic impregnation treatment combined with the N_2 thermal treatment prior to calcination in air had a promising application for preparation of Co_3O_4/CeO_2 composites catalysts for low-temperature catalytic combustion of methane. | Hong Lu Chengfa Jiang Zhenwu Ding Wei Wang Wei Chu Yanyan Feng | 2016 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2016,25,3: | 1
