1Tumor-expressed B7-H3 mediates the inhibition of antitumor T-cell functions in ovarian cancer insensitive to PD-1 blockade therapy显示文摘Although PD-L1/PD-1 blockade therapy has been approved to treat many types of cancers,the majority of patients with solid tumors do not respond well,but the underlying reason remains unclear.Here,we studied ovarian cancer(OvCa),a tumor type generally resistant to current immunotherapies,to investigate PD-1-independent immunosuppression.We found that PD-L1 was not highly expressed in the tumor microenvironment(TME)of human OvCa.Instead,B7-H3,another checkpoint molecule,was highly expressed by both tumor cells and tumor-infiltrating antigen-presenting cells(APCs),which correlated with T-cell exhaustion in patients.Using ID8 OvCa mouse models,we found that B7-H3 expressed on tumor cells,but not host cells,had a dominant role in suppressing antitumor immunity.Therapeutically,B7-H3 blockade,but not PD-1 blockade,prolonged the survival of ID8 tumorbearing mice.Collectively,our results demonstrate that tumor-expressed B7-H3 inhibits the function of CD8^(+)T cells and suggest that B7-H3 may be a target in patients who are not responsive to PD-L1/PD-1 inhibition,particularly OvCa patients.Dongli Cai Jiaming Li Dingfeng Liu Shanjuan Hong Qin Qiao Qinli Sun Pingping Li Nanan Lyu Tiantian Sun Shan Xie Li Guo Ling Ni Liping Jin Chen Dong 2020Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,3:8
2Large-scale coherent Ising machine based on optoelectronic parametric oscillator显示文摘Ising machines based on analog systems have the potential to accelerate the solution of ubiquitous combinatorial optimization problems.Although some artificial spins to support large-scale Ising machines have been reported,e.g.,superconducting qubits in quantum annealers and short optical pulses in coherent Ising machines,the spin stability is fragile due to the ultra-low equivalent temperature or optical phase sensitivity.In this paper,we propose to use short microwave pulses generated from an optoelectronic parametric oscillator as the spins to implement a large-scale Ising machine with high stability.The proposed machine supports 25,600 spins and can operate continuously and stably for hours.Moreover,the proposed Ising machine is highly compatible with high-speed electronic devices for programmability,paving a low-cost,accurate,and easy-to-implement way toward solving real-world optimization problems.Qizhuang Cen Hao Ding Tengfei Hao Shanhong Guan Zhiqiang Qin Jiaming Lyu Wei Li Ninghua Zhu Kun Xu Yitang Dai Ming Li 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,12:0

4The effect of different gravity fields on mass transfer in the rat bone lacunar-canalicular system显示文摘The bone lacunar-canalicular system(LCS)is an important microscopic infrastructure for signaling and solute transport in bone tissue,which guarantees normal physiological processes of the tissue,but the mass transfer laws in the LCS under different gravity fields have not yet been clarified.SD rats were injected intraperitoneally with different concentrations of sodium fluorescein tracer and subjected to mass transfer experiments in the LCS under normal gravity and hypergravity.The fluorescence distribution in the osteon was observed using laser scanning confocal microscopy.The hypergravity environment was provided by a self-designed high-G loading centrifuge.The fluorescence intensity of the Haversian canal in the osteon was the highest.The fluorescence intensity of lacunae farther away from the Haversian canal was lower,and the fitted curve was parabolic.With the increasing distance from the Haversian canal,the curve first rapidly decreased,and then the decreasing trend gradually became slower.Hypergravity promoted mass transfer in the LCS,and the 10 G hypergravity showed varying degrees of fluorescence intensity in each layer of the osteon relative to normal gravity,with intensity enhancements in the range of 132.7–249.0%.The fluorescence intensity was also significantly increased when the tracer concentration was halved and the gravity field magnitude was increased to 10G.In conclusion,hypergravity promoted the transport of solute molecules,nutrients,and signaling molecules within the LCS.The effect of hypergravity on mass transfer in the LCS was greater than that of tracer concentration.This may help to understand bone diseases from a mass transfer perspective.Hao Wang Jiaming Wang Kangning Li Lilan Gao Aiguo Wang Shuping Wei Linwei Lyu Chunqiu Zhang 2023Medicine in Novel Technology and Devices2023,,1:0
5Numerical simulation of temperature and relative humidity in zero energy cool chamber显示文摘Temperature and relative humidity are important parameters that can affect the storage of food in a zero energy cool chamber(ZECC).The distributions of average temperature and relative humidity are influenced by factors such as chamber size,water temperature,load weight and filler thickness.In this research,thermal environment analysis using numerical simulation of biological respiration was conducted for tomatoes stored in a ZECC.The ZECC was composed of inner and outer brick walls,filler(a mixture of sand and zeolite),water between the walls and a shading curtain.The results obtained from the numerical model were compared by setting different values for each factor.The following conclusions are drawn after comparison and analysis of results:(1)the distributions of average temperature and relative humidity are strongly related to the thickness of the filler–a thicker filler causes a lower temperature;(2)the water temperature in the filler exerts little influence on the average temperature and relative humidity;and(3)the lowest temperature and the highest relative humidity can be achieved with a chamber size of 0.6 m and a load weight of 30 kg.In addition,to validate the results of the numerical model,the simulation results are compared with experimental data,which show good agreement.It is confirmed that numerical simulation can be satisfactorily applied to predict the distribution of environmental parameters such as temperature and relative humidity in a cool chamber.Liu Yanhua Lyu Enli Muhammad M.Rahman Wang Yu Guo Jiaming Zhang Jie 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,3:0
6Review on the terahertz metasensor:from featureless refractive index sensing to molecular identification显示文摘The terahertz(THz)wave is at the intersection between photonics and electronics in the electromagnetic spectrum.Since the vibration mode of many biomedical molecules and the weak interaction mode inside the molecules fall in the THz regime,utilizing THz radiation as a signal source to operate substance information sensing has its unique advantages.Recently,the metamaterial sensor(metasensor)has greatly enhanced the interaction between signal and substances and spectral selectivity on the subwavelength scale.However,most past review articles have demonstrated the THz metasensor in terms of their structures,applications,or materials.Until recently,with the rapid development of metasensing technologies,the molecular information has paid much more attention to the platform of THz metasensors.In this review,we comprehensively introduce the THz metasensor for detecting not only the featureless refractive index but also the vibrational/chiral molecular information of analytes.The objectives of this review are to improve metasensing specificity either by chemical material-assisted analyte capture or by physical molecular information.Later,to boost THz absorption features in a certain frequency,the resonant responses of metasensors can be tuned to the molecular vibrational modes of target molecules,while frequency multiplexing techniques are reviewed to enhance broadband THz spectroscopic fingerprints.The chiral metasensors are also summarized to specific identification chiral molecules.Finally,the potential prospects of next generation THz metasensors are discussed.Compared to featureless refractive index metasensing,the specific metasensor platforms accelerated by material modification and molecular information will lead to greater impact in the advancement of trace detection of conformational dynamics of biomolecules in practical applications.JIAMING LYU LIHAO HUANG LIN CHEN YIMING ZHU SONGLIN ZHUANG 2024Photonics Research2024,12,2:0
7An Enhanced Sensorless Control Scheme for PMSM Drives Considering Self-inductance Asymmetry显示文摘Inductance asymmetry,which is brought by inherent asymmetric parameters,manufacture tolerance,winding fault,cables with unequal lengths,etc.,of permanent-magnet synchronous machines(PMSMs)can cause current harmonics and inaccurate position estimation.This paper proposes an enhanced fundamental model based sensorless control strategy for PMSMs with asymmetric inductances.The proportional-integral-resonant current regulator is introduced to reduce the second-order harmonics of currents,but there are still negative sequence components in the estimated back-electromotive forces(EMFs),which can cause the position estimated error.Differing from conventional methods in which negative sequences are filtered out before the phase-locked loop(PLL)module,the proposed method directly applies the estimated back-EMF with negative sequences as the reference input of PLL.An improved PLL with a bi-quad filter is proposed to attenuate the arising second harmonic position error and heighten the steady-state accuracy.Then,this position error is used for asymmetric inductance identification and its result is utilized to update the observer model.Furthermore,the dynamic performance is improved by the output limitation on the bi-quad filter as well as the implementation of a fast-locking technique in the PLL.The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified by experimental results.Lijian Wu Zekai Lyu Zekai Chen Jiaming Liu Ying Lu 2022CES Transactions on Electrical Machines and Systems2022,6,4:0
8Amplitude gradient-based metasurfaces for off-chip terahertz wavefront shaping显示文摘Metasurfaces provide an effective technology platform for manipulating electromagnetic waves,and the existing design methods all highlight the importance of creating a gradient in the output phase across light scattering units.However,in the emerging research subfield of meta-waveguides where a metasurface is driven by guided modes,this phase gradient-oriented approach can only provide a very limited emission aperture,significantly affecting the application potential of such meta-waveguides.In this work,we propose a new design approach that exploits the difference between meta-atoms in their light scattering amplitude.By balancing this amplitude gradient in the meta-atoms against the intensity decay in the energy-feeding waveguide,a large effective aperture can be obtained.Based on this new design approach,three different wavefront shaping functionalities are numerically demonstrated here on multiple devices in the terahertz regime.They include beam expanders that radiate a plane wave,where the beam width can increase by more than 900 times as compared to the guided wave.They also include a metalens that generates a Bessel-beam focus with a width 0.59 times the wavelength,and vortex beam generators that emit light with a tunable topological charge that can reach-30.This amplitude gradient design approach could benefit a variety of off-chip light shaping applications such as remote sensing and 6G wireless communications.WEN LYU JIANZHI HUANG SHENGQI YIN XUKANG WANG JIAMING LIU XU FANG HUA GENG 2023Photonics Research2023,11,9:0
