| 1 | Health risks associated with heavy metals in the drinking water of Swat, northern Pakistan显示文摘The concentrations of heavy metals such as Cd, Cr, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn were investigated in drinking water sources(surface and groundwater) collected from Swat valley, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The potential health risks of heavy metals to the local population and their possible source apportionment were also studied. Heavy metal concentrations were analysed using atomic absorption spectrometer and compared with permissible limits set by Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency and World Health Organization. The concentrations of Cd, Cr, Ni and Pb were higher than their respective permissible limits, while Cu, Mn and Zn concentrations were observed within their respective limits. Health risk indicators such as chronic daily intake(CDI) and health risk index(HRI) were calculated for adults and children separately. CDIs and HRIs of heavy metals were found in the order of Cr > Mn >Ni > Zn > Cd > Cu > Pb and Cd > Ni > Mn > Cr > Cu > Pb > Zn, respectively. HRIs of selected heavy metals in the drinking water were less than 1, indicating no health risk to the local people. Multivariate and univariate statistical analyses showed that geologic and anthropogenic activities were the possible sources of water contamination with heavy metals in the study area. | Kifayatullah Khan Yonglong Lu Hizbullah Khan Shahida Zakir Ihsanullah Sardar Khan Akbar Ali Khan Luo Wei Tieyu Wang | 2013 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,10: | 12 |
| 2 | Potential of MXenes in Water Desalination: Current Status and Perspectives显示文摘MXenes, novel 2D transition metal carbides, have emerged as wonderful nanomaterials and a superlative contestant for a host of applications. The tremendous characteristics of MXenes,i.e.,high surface area, high metallic conductivity, ease of functionalization, biocompatibility, activated metallic hydroxide sites, and hydrophilicity, make them the best aspirant for applications in energy storage, catalysis, sensors, electronics, and environmental remediation.Due to their exceptional physicochemical properties and multifarious chemical compositions,MXenes have gained considerable attention for applications in water treatment and desalination in recent times. It is vital to understand the current status of MXene applications in desalination in order to define the roadmap for the development of MXene-based materials and endorse their practical applications in the future. This paper critically reviews the recent advancement in the synthesis of MXenes and MXene-based composites for applications in desalination. The desalination potential of MXenes is portrayed in detail with a focus on ion-sieving membranes, capacitive deionization, and solar desalination. The ion removal mechanism and regeneration ability of MXenes are also summarized to get insight into the process. The key challenges and issues associated with the synthesis and applications of MXenes and MXene-based composites in desalination are highlighted.Lastly, research directions are provided to guarantee the synthesis and applications of MXenes in a more effective way. This review may provide an insight into the applications of MXenes for water desalination in the future. | Ihsanullah Ihsanullah | 2020 | Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,6: | 6 |
| 3 | A split target detection and tracking algorithm for ballistic missile tracking during the re-entry phase显示文摘In the re-entry phase of a ballistic missile, decoys can be deployed as a mean to overburden enemy defenses. This results in a single track being split into multiple track-lets.Tracking of these track-lets is a critical task as any miss in the tracking procedure can become a cause of a major threat. The tracking process becomes more complicated in the presence of clutter. The low detection rate is one of the factors that may contribute to increasing the difficulty level in terms of tracking in the cluttered environment. This work introduces a new algorithm for the split event detection and target tracking under the framework of the joint integrated probabilistic data association(JIPDA)algorithm. The proposed algorithm is termed as split event-JIPDA(SE-JIPDA).This work establishes the mathematical foundation for the split target detection and tracking mechanism. The performance analysis is made under different simulation conditions to provide a clear insight into the merits of the proposed algorithm. The performance parameters in these simulations are the root mean square error(RMSE),confirmed true track rate(CTTR)and confirmed split true track rate(CSTTR). | Muhammad Asad Sumair Khan Ihsanullah Zahid Mehmood Yifang Shi Sufyan Ali Memon Uzair Khan | 2020 | Defence Technology(防务技术)2020,16,6: | 2 |

| 9 | Specific wave profiles and closed-form soliton solutions for generalized nonlinear wave equation in(3+1)-dimensions with gas bubbles in hydrodynamics and fluids显示文摘Nonlinear evolution equations(NLEEs)are frequently employed to determine the fundamental principles of natural phenomena.Nonlinear equations are studied extensively in nonlinear sciences, ocean physics, fluid dynamics, plasma physics, scientific applications, and marine engineering. The generalized exponen-tial rational function(GERF)technique is used in this article to seek several closed-form wave solutions and the evolving dynamics of different wave profiles to the generalized nonlinear wave equation in(3+1)dimensions,which explains several more nonlinear phenomena in liquids, including gas bubbles.A large number of closed-form wave solutions are generated, including trigonometric function solutions,hyper-bolic trigonometric function solutions, and exponential rational functional solutions. In the dynamics of distinct solitary waves,a variety of soliton solutions are obtained, including single soliton,multi-wave structure soliton,kink-type soliton, combo singular soliton, and singularity-form wave profiles. These de-termined solutions have never previously been published. The dynamical wave structures of some analyt-ical solutions are graphically demonstrated using three-dimensional graphics by providing suitable values to free parameters. This technique can also be used to obtain the soliton solutions of other well-known equations in engineering physics, fluid dynamics, and other fields of nonlinear sciences. | Sachin Kumar Ihsanullah Hamid M.A.Abdou | 2023 | Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science2023,8,1: | 0 |
