| 1 | Imbalance between expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9 and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 in invasiveness and metastasis of human gastric carcinoma显示文摘AIM: The expressive balance between matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and its tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) plays a critical role in maintaining the degradation and synthesis of extracellular matrix. Loss of such balance is associated with invasion and metastasis of tumors. This study aimed to determine the expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in gastric carcinoma, and the association of the expressive imbalance between MMP9 and TIMP-1 with the invasion and metastasis and prognosis of gastric carcinoma.METHODS: We used immunohistochemistry to determine the expressions of MMP-9, TTMP-1 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen Ki-67 in the gastric specimens taken from 256 patients with primary gastric carcinoma. The patients were followed-up for up to 96 months.RESULTS: No association between the expression of MMP9 and TIMP-1 and patients' sex and age, tumor size and location of gastric carcinoma was observed. The incidence of the positive expression of MMP-9 in cases with tumors invasion to muscularis propria and visceral peritoneum (70.13% and 69.09%, respectively) was significantly higher than that in cases with tumor invasion only to lamina propria or submucosa (42.50 %, P=0.0162). The positive correlation between MMP-9 expression and the depth of tumor invasion was observed (Pearson correlation coefficient=0.2129,P=0.016). Along with the increase of the metastatic station of lymph nodes, the incidence of the MMP-9 expression was increased by degrees; a positive correlation between them was observed (Pearson correlation coefficient=0.2910,P=0.0001). There was also a significant correlation between MMP-9 expression and the TNM stage in gastric carcinoma (Pearson correlation coefficient=0.3027, P<0.0001). The incidence of MMP-9 expression in stage Ⅱ and Ⅲ/Ⅳ (75.00%and 76.15%, respectively) was significantly higher than those in stage Ⅰ (46.15 %, P<0.0001). A negative correlation between TIMP-1 immunoreactivity and the depth of invasion,status of lymph node metastasis and TNM stage was observed (Pearson correlation coefficient =-0.1688, -0.3556and -0.3004, P=0.023, <0.0001 and <0.0001, respectively).Four types of co-expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 were observed; i.e. MMP-9 positive but T IMP-1 negative (n=115),both positive (n=52), both negative (n=62) and MMP-9negative but TIMP-1 positive (n=27). The frequency of serosal invasiveness was significant higher in patients with MMP-9 but without TIMP-1 expression than those with other types of the co-expression (P=0.0303). The incidence of lymph node metastasis was highest in patients with MMP-9but without TIMP-1 expression, and lowest in those with TIMP-1 but without MMP-9 expression (P<0.0001). The survival rate in patients with MMP-9 but without TIMP-1expression was lower than that in those with TIMP-1 but without MMP-9 expression (P=0.0014).CONCLUSION: Our results in gastric carcinoma demonstrated a significant positive association of MMP-9 over-expression with proliferation of tumor cells, the depth of invasiveness,lymph node metastasis and TNM stage, suggesting MMP-9can serve as a molecular marker of tumor invasion and metastasis. We also demonstrate a significant negative relationship of TIMP-1 expression with the depth of invasiveness and lymph node metastasis, which provide a new idea in the tumor biological and genetic treatment.The interaction between MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in the processes of tumor invasion and metastasis is that MMP-9 mainly promotes tumor invasion and metastasis and TIMP-1 inhibits functions of MMP-9. The imbalance between MMP-9 and TIMP-1 expression may suggest the occurrence of tumor invasion and metastasis, predict poor prognosis. | 4 | Phylogenetic diversity and specificity of bacteria associated with Microcystis aeruginosa and other cyanobacteria显示文摘Interactions between bacteria and cyanobacteria have been suggested to have a potential to influence harmful algal bloom dynamics; however, little information on these interactions has been reported. In this study, the bacterial communities associated with five strains of Microcystis aeruginosa, three species of other Microcystis spp., and four representative species of non-Microcystis cyanobacteria were compared. Bacterial 16S rDNA fragments were amplified and separated by denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) followed by DNA sequence analysis. The similarities among bacterial communities associated with these cyanobacteria were compared to the digitized DGGE profiles using the cluster analyses. The bacterial community structure of all cyanobacterial cultures differed. Cluster analysis showed that the similarity values among M. aeruginosa cultures were higher than those of other cyanobacterial cultures. Sequence analysis of DGGE fragments indicated the presence of bacteria including, Alphaproteobacteria, Betaproteobacteria, Gammaproteobacteria, Bacteroidetes and Actinobacteria in the cyanobacterial cultures. Members of the Sphingomonadales were the prevalent group among the Microcystis-associated bacteria. | 5 | Spatiotemporal differences and influencing factors of multiple cropping index in China during 1998-2012显示文摘Raising the level of the multiple cropping index(MCI) plays a critical role in food production of China. Therefore, exploring the spatiotemporal differences and factors of the MCI in China is of important practical significance. This paper examines the trend of multiple cropping index(MCI) changes in China at the national, regional and provincial levels during 1998–2012. Based on the Theil index, this paper explores the spatiotemporal differences of the MCI in China. Additionally, a spatial econometric model is used to identify the determinants of the spatiotemporal differences of the MCI from a behavioral perspective. The results are summarized as follows:(1) From the national perspective, the MCI shows an increasing trend year by year, rising from 120.1% in 1998 to 134.26% in 2012;(2) at the regional level, the northeastern region is the fastest growing area in terms of MCI, whereas the central region is the slowest growing area. The central region has the highest MCI level, whereas the northeastern region is connected to the lowest MCI level;(3) according to the Theil index value, the differences in the MCI show a narrowing trend from 0.11 in 1998 to 0.03 in 2012, which is primarily attributed to the differences among the four regions;(4) the MCI shows differences among China's 31 provinces, and the gap that it shows is great; and(5) the proportion of non-agricultural population has a significant negative effect on the MCI. However, the proportions of non-agricultural industry, agricultural policy, per capita operating arable land area and rural household per capita net income have a significant positive impact on the MCI. The usefulness of high mass resolution for overcoming some spectral interference was demonstrated. The optimum conditions for the deter- mination were tested and discussed. The standard addition method was employed for quantitative analysis. The detection limits were 0.016-1.50 μg?g?1, the recovery ratios were 92.2%-111.2%, and the RSD was less than 3.6%. The method was accurate, quick, and convenient. | 12 | Spatiotemporal differences and convergence of urban industrial land use efficiency for China's major economic zones显示文摘Based on an SBM model, this paper first analyzes the spatial differences of urban industrial land use efficiency(UILUE) in the six main economic zones of China. Then, we analyze the dynamic changes in the urban industrial land's total factor productivity(UILTFP) by using the Malmquist productivity index approach, and we examine the UILTFP's convergence. The results show that the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta have a higher UILUEs but show downward trends in UILTFPs. The other four zones, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Chengdu-Chongqing, Guanzhong-Tianshui and the Central Plains, show poorer UILUEs but have upward trends in UILTFPs. A significant excess supply of industrial land and labor exists in all six zones, and the zones in economically developed areas perform better in industrial output. The results of the convergence test do not support σ-convergence but support conditional β-convergence for all zones. These results indicate that the gaps in the UILTFP of industrial land in all six zones, in fact, do not narrow, and the UILTFPs of cities will converge to their own steady states. The regression results of the influencing factors show that the urbanization rate should be increased in the Pearl River Delta and reduced in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei. The Yangtze River Delta and Chengdu-Chongqing should pay more attention to the problem of industrial labor surplus, and the Pearl River Delta should reduce the proportion of industrial output. The flow rate was 0.25 mL/min and the total run time was 6 min. The multiple reaction monitoring(MRM) transitions, m/z 494.5→394.5 for imatinib, 488.7→401.5 for dasatinib, 530.7→289.5 for nilotinib and 528.5→403.4 for IS, were chosen to achieve high selectivity in the simultaneous analyses. The method exhibited great improvement in sensitivity and good linearity over the concentration range of 2.6–5250.0 ng/mL for imatinib, 2.0–490.0 ng/mL for dasatinib, and 2.4–4700.0 ng/mL for nilotinib. The method showed acceptable results on sensitivity, specificity,recovery, precision, accuracy and stability tests. This UPLC–MS/MS assay was successfully used for human plasma samples analysis and no significant differences were found in imatinib steady-state trough concentrations among the SLC22A5-1889T > C or SLCO1B3 699G > A genotypes(P > 0.05). | 19 | Is investment-cashflow sensitivity a good measure of financial constraints?显示文摘Since Fazzari et al.(1988),investment-cashflow sensitivity has been one of the most important indicators for testing and measuring the external financial constraints of corporations.This study analyzes the effect of changes in the relative cost of internal and external financing on investment decisions in response to tax changes.China's2004 VAT reform decreased companies' effective tax rates,leading to an increase in operating cashflow.This,in turn,reduced the internal cost of financing and the value of the tax shield and increased the cost of debt financing.This study shows that in the case of the VAT reform,investment-cashflow sensitivity increased significantly,whereas cash holdings-cashflow sensitivity and borrowing-slack sensitivity did not significantly change.We conclude that investment-cashflow sensitivity is not an effective measure of financial constraints under information asymmetry,but cash-cashflow sensitivity and borrowing-slack sensitivity may be useful alternatives. | Hualin Wan Kai Zhu | 2011 | China Journal of Accounting Research2011,,4: | 5 |
| 20 | Exploration and practice of general practitioner responsibility system in an urban community of Shanghai显示文摘Objective:The Minhang district of Shanghai was selected as the subject and its public health management model was investigated.Methods:Minhang became a pilot location for the implementation of the general practitioner responsibility system(GPRS)in 2011.Since then,the management model of public health services in the district has gradually merged with the GPRS through a series of actions:the adjustment of organizations and the coordination mechanism in community public health services,the integration of basic public health services and clinic practice,the establishment of an informationized Internet service platform,comprehensive budgeting management of public health service programs,and performance assessment management of health workers.Results:By the end of 2014,the number of residents who had a contractual relationship with a general practitioner(GP)in Minhang had reached 1.4367 million and all of them had family health records.Compared with 2010,both the rate of maternal management and the rate of children management stayed at high level(≥96%),the rate of hypertension management increased(40.73%vs.28.70%),the rate of blood pressure control increased(82.13%vs.77.51%),the incidence of diabetes decreased(21.93%vs.37.85%),the rate of effective control of blood glucose for dia-betic patients increased(82.43%vs.62.77%),and the rate of child health management increased(99.79%vs.91.54%).Conclusion:The GPRS has helped to create a better community health environment.How-ever,the development of this system is limited by several factors,including the following:the shortage of GPs,most GPs do not have good public health service skills and a correct public health concept,unclear division of different services,and imperfect department coordination. | Yan Wu Yanping Zhao Xiaoxia Huang Junyan Wang Huilin Xu Hualin Su | 2015 | Family Medicine and Community Health2015,3,4: | 5 |
