| 1 | Cerebral small vessel disease or intracranial large vessel atherosclerosis may carry different risk for future strokes显示文摘Background The effect of cerebral small vessel disease(CSVD)and intracranial arterial stenosis(ICAS)on stroke outcomes remains unclear.Methods Data of 1045 patients with minor stroke or transient ischaemic attack(TIA)were obtained from 45 sites of the Clopidogrel in High-Risk Patients with Acute Non-disabling Cerebrovascular Events(CHANCE)trial.We assessed the associations of burdens of CSVD and ICAS with new strokes and bleeding events using multivariate Cox regression models and those with modified Rankin Scale(mRS)scores using ordinal logistic regression models.Results Among the 1045 patients,CSVD was present in 830 cases(79.4%)and ICAS in 460(44.0%).Patients with>1 ICAS segment showed the highest risk of new strokes(HR 2.03,95%CI 1.15 to 3.56,p=0.01).No association between CSVD and the occurrence of new strokes was found.The presence of severe CSVD(common OR(cOR)2.01,95%CI 1.40 to 2.89,p<0.001)and>1 ICAS segment(cOR 2.15,95%CI 1.57 to 2.93,p<0.001)was associated with higher mRS scores.Severe CSVD(HR 10.70,95%CI 1.16 to 99.04,p=0.04),but not ICAS,was associated with a higher risk of bleeding events.Six-point modified CSVD score improved the predictive power for bleeding events and disability.Interpretation CSVD is associated with more disability and bleeding events,and ICAS is associated with an increased risk of stroke and disability in patients with minor stroke and TIA at 3 months.CSVD and ICAS may represent different vascular pathologies and play distinct roles in stroke outcomes. | Huimin Chen Yuesong Pan Lixia Zong Jing Jing Xia Meng Yuyuan Xu Hongyi Yan Xingquan Zhao Liping Liu Hao Li S Claiborne Johnston Yongjun Wang Yilong Wang | 2020 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,2: | 13 |
| 2 | Association of elevated hs-CRP and multiple infarctions with outcomes of minor stroke or TIA: subgroup analysis of CHANCE randomised clinical trial显示文摘Background and purpose The relationship of high-sensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)levels and infarction numbers with the prognosis of stroke is uncertain.This study evaluated the association of different hs-CRP levels and infarction numbers with the prognosis of acute minor ischaemic stroke or transient ischaemic attack(TIA).Methods A subset of 807 patients with both hs-CRP measurement and baseline MRI was included from the Clopidogrel in High-risk Patients with Acute Non-disabling Cerebrovascular Events trial.The primary efficacy outcome was the occurrence of an ischaemic stroke at the 1-year follow-up.Infarction numbers were classified as multiple acute infarctions(MAIs),single acute infarction and no acute infarction(NAI).The association between different hs-CRP levels with different infarction numbers and the risk of any outcome was analysed using multivariable Cox regression models.Results Among the 807 patients,84(10.4%)patients had a recurrent ischaemic stroke within 1 year.After adjustment for conventional confounding factors,patients with both elevated hs-CRP levels and MAIs were associated with approximately 4.7-fold of risk of ischaemic stroke within 1 year(16.7% vs 3.5%,HR 4.68,95% CI 1.54 to 14.23,p=0.007),compared with those with non-elevated hs-CRP levels and NAI.Similar results were observed for the composite events.Conclusions Combined elevated hs-CRP levels and MAIs may increase 1-year stroke risk stratification efficiency in patients with minor ischaemic stroke or TIA compared with using those markers alone,which indicated that the combination of inflammatory and imaging markers might improve the effectiveness of risk stratification concerning minor ischaemic stroke or TIA. | Guangyao Wang Jing Jing Jiejie Li Yuesong Pan Hongyi Yan Xia Meng Xingquan Zhao Liping Liu Hao Li David Z Wang Yongjun Wang Yilong Wang | 2021 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,1: | 11 |

| 5 | Confinement and antenna effect for ultrasmall Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+) nanocrystals supported by MOF with enhanced near-UV light absorption thereby enhanced luminescence and excellently multifunctional applications显示文摘A novel host-guest luminous system with enhanced near-UV light absorption thereby enhanced luminescence are designed based on the synergism of quantum confinement,spatial confinement,and antenna effect,where ultrasmall Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+)nanocrystals are fixed inside MOF(Eu/Y-BTC)as supporting structure.The Eu/Y-BTC not only limits the size and leads to lattice distortion of Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+)nanocrystals and controls the distance between nanocrystals,but also promotes the light absorption and emission.The significantly red-shifted and broadened charge transfer band of Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+)/(Eu/Y-BTC)leads to the excellent applications of Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+)in white light-emitting diodes(LEDs).Our results show that white light with superior color quality(CRI>90)and extremely high luminous efficacy(an LER of 335 lm/W)could be achieved using Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+)/(Eu/Y-BTC)as red phosphor.The Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+)/(Eu/Y-BTC)also improves the photoelectric performance of dye-sensitized solar cells(DSSCs),not only because Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+)/(Eu/Y-BTC)has a large specific surface area and the adsorption amount of the dye is increased,but also because the valence band position of Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+)/(Eu/Y-BTC)is 2.41 eV,which can provide an additional energy level between the TiO2 and dye,promoting electron transfer.For these advantageous features,the multifunctional Y_(2)O_(3):Eu^(3+)/(Eu/Y-BTC)composite product will open new avenues in white LEDs and DSSCs. | Hongyi Xu Wenjing Yu Kai Pan Guofeng Wang Peifen Zhu | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,3: | 5 |

| 7 | Design and Analysis of Prioritized Medium Access Control Protocol for Backbone Routers in Wireless Mesh Networks显示文摘A Prioritized Medium Access Control (P-MAC) protocol is proposed for wireless routers of mesh networks with quality-of-service provisioning. The simple yet effective design of P-MAC offers strict service differentiation for prioritized packets. A Markov model is developed to yield important performance matrices including the packet blocking probability due to queue overflow and the packet reneging probability due to delay bound. It is further proved that the service time of P-MAC approximates exponential distribution, and can be effectively estimated. The analytic models with preemptive and non-preemptive schemes, validated via simulations, show that P-MAC can effectively support traffic differentiation and achieve very low packet dropping (both reneging and blocking) probabilities when the traffic load is below the channel capacity. When the network is overloaded, P-MAC can still maintain extremely stable and high channel throughput. | 8 | Comprehensive characterization of CRC with germline mutations reveals a distinct somatic mutational landscape and elevated cancer risk in the Chinese population显示文摘Objective:Hereditary colorectal cancer(CRC)accounts for approximately 5%–10%of all CRC cases.The full profile of CRC-related germline mutations and the corresponding somatic mutational profile have not been fully determined in the Chinese population.Methods:We performed the first population study investigating the germline mutation status in more than 1,000(n=1,923)Chinese patients with CRC and examined their relationship with the somatic mutational landscape.Germline alterations were examined with a 58-gene next-generation sequencing panel,and somatic alterations were examined with a 605-gene panel.Results:A total of 92 pathogenic(P)mutations were identified in 85 patients,and 81 likely pathogenic(LP)germline mutations were identified in 62 patients,accounting for 7.6%(147/1,923)of all patients.MSH2 and APC was the most mutated gene in the Lynch syndrome and non-Lynch syndrome groups,respectively.Patients with P/LP mutations had a significantly higher ratio of microsatellite instability,highly deficient mismatch repair,family history of CRC,and lower age.The somatic mutational landscape revealed a significantly higher mutational frequency in the P group and a trend toward higher copy number variations in the non-P group.The Lynch syndrome group had a significantly higher mutational frequency and tumor mutational burden than the nonLynch syndrome group.Clustering analysis revealed that the Notch signaling pathway was uniquely clustered in the Lynch syndrome group,and the MAPK and cAMP signaling pathways were uniquely clustered in the non-Lynch syndrome group.Population risk analysis indicated that the overall odds ratio was 11.13(95%CI:8.289–15.44)for the P group and 20.68(95%CI:12.89–33.18)for the LP group.Conclusions:Distinct features were revealed in Chinese patients with CRC with germline mutations.The Notch signaling pathway was uniquely clustered in the Lynch syndrome group,and the MAPK and cAMP signaling pathways were uniquely clustered in the non-Lynch syndrome group.Patients with P/LP germline mutations exhibited higher CRC risk. | Jianfei Yao Yunhuan Zhen Jing Fan Yuan Gong Yumeng Ye Shaohua Guo Hongyi Liu Xiaoyun Li Guosheng Li Pan Yang Xiaohui Wang Danni Liu Tanxiao Huang Huiya Cao Peisu Suo Yuemin Li Jingbo Yu Lele Song | 2022 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2022,19,5: | 1 |

| 11 | Size controllable single-crystalline Ni-rich cathodes for high-energy lithium-ion batteries显示文摘A single-crystalline Ni-rich(SCNR)cathode with a large particle size can achieve higher energy density,and is safer,than polycrystalline counterparts.However,synthesizing large SCNR cathodes(>5μm)without compromising electrochemical performance is very challenging due to the incompatibility between Ni-rich cathodes and high temperature calcination.Herein,we introduce Vegard’s Slope as a guide for rationally selecting sintering aids,and we successfully synthesize size-controlled SCNR cathodes,the largest of which can be up to 10μm.Comprehensive theoretical calculation and experimental characterization show that sintering aids continuously migrate to the particle surface,suppress sublattice oxygen release and reduce the surface energy of the typically exposed facets,which promotes grain boundary migration and elevates calcination critical temperature.The dense SCNR cathodes,fabricated by packing of different-sized SCNR cathode particles,achieve a highest electrode press density of 3.9 g cm^(-3)and a highest volumetric energy density of 3000 Wh L^(-1).The pouch cell demonstrates a high energy density of 303 Wh kg^(-1),730 Wh L^(-1)and 76% capacity retention after 1200 cycles.SCNR cathodes with an optimized particle size distribution can meet the requirements for both electric vehicles and portable devices.Furthermore,the principle for controlling the growth of SCNR particles can be widely applied when synthesizing other materials for Li-ion,Na-ion and K-ion batteries. | Ji-Lei Shi Hang Sheng Xin-Hai Meng Xu-Dong Zhang Dan Lei Xiaorui Sun Hongyi Pan Junyang Wang Xiqian Yu Chunsheng Wang Yangxing Li Yu-Guo Guo | 2023 | National Science Review2023,10,2: | 0 |

| 13 | Inconsistent centralised versus noncentralised ischaemic stroke aetiology显示文摘Background and purpose The Trial of Org 10172 in Acute Stroke Treatment(TOAST)system is the most widely used aetiological categorisation system in clinical practice and research.Limited studies have validated the accuracy of routine aetiological diagnosis of patients with ischaemic stroke according to the TOAST criteria when the reported subtype is assumed to be correct.We investigated the agreement between centralised and non-centralised(site-reported,at discharge)stroke subtypes in the Third China National Stroke Registry(CNSR-III),and analysed the influence of classification consistency on evaluation during hospitalisation and for secondary prevention strategy.Methods All patients with ischaemic stroke from the CNSR-III study with complete diffusion-weighted imaging data were included.We used multivariable Cox proportional-hazard regression models to evaluate the factors associated with consistency between centralised and non-centralised stroke subtypes.Sensitivity analyses were conducted of the subgroup of patients with complete information.Results This study included 12180 patients(mean age,62.3 years;and women,31.4%).Agreement between centralised and non-centralised subtype was the highest for the large-artery atherosclerosis subtype stroke(77.4%of centralised patients),followed by the small-vessel occlusion subtype(40.6%of centralised patients).Agreements for cardioembolism and stroke of other determined aetiology subtypes were 38.7%and 12.2%,respectively.Patient-level and hospital-level factors were associated with the inconsistency between centralised/non-centralised aetiological subtyping.This inconsistency was related to differences in secondary prevention strategies.Only 15.3%of the newly diagnosed patients with cardioembolism underwent centralised subtyping with indications to receive oral anticoagulants at discharge.In comparison,51.3%of the consistent cardioembolism group and 42.0%of the centrally reassigned cardioembolism group with anticoagulation indications were prescribed oral anticoagulants.Conclusions Substantial inconsistency exists between centralised and non-centralised subtyping in China.Inaccurate aetiological subtyping could lead to inadequate secondary prevention,especially in patients with cardioembolic stroke. | Yue Suo Jing Jing Xia Meng Zixiao Li Yuesong Pan Yong Jiang Xiaomeng Yang Huan Liu Hongyi Yan Liping Liu Xingquan Zhao Yilong Wang Hao Li Yongjun Wang | 2020 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,4: | 0 |
| 14 | Identification and validation of key biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets for primary open-angle glaucoma显示文摘Primary open-angle glaucoma(POAG)is a prevalent cause of blindness worldwide,resulting in degeneration of retinal ganglion cells and permanent damage to the optic nerve.However,the underlying pathogenetic mechanisms of POAG are currently indistinct,and there has been no effective nonsurgical treatment regimen.The objective of this study is to identify novel biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets for POAG.The mRNA expression microarray datasets GSE27276 and GSE138125,as well as the single-cell high-throughput RNA sequencing(sc RNA-seq)dataset GSE148371 were utilized to screen POAGrelated differentially expressed genes(DEGs).Functional enrichment analyses,protein-protein interaction(PPI)analysis,and weighted gene co-expression network analysis(WGCNA)of the DEGs were performed.Subsequently,the hub genes were validated at a single-cell level,where trabecular cells were annotated,and the mRNA expression levels of target genes in different cell clusters were analyzed.Immunofluorescence and quantitative real-time PCR(q PCR)were performed for further validation.DEGs analysis identified 43 downregulated and 32 upregulated genes in POAG,which were mainly enriched in immune-related pathways,oxidative stress,and endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress.PPI networks showed that FN1 and DUSP1 were the central hub nodes,while GPX3 and VAV3 were screened out as hub genes through WGCNA and subsequently validated by q PCR.Finally,FN1,GPX3,and VAV3 were determined to be pivotal core genes via single-cell validation.The relevant biomarkers involved in the pathogenesis of POAG,may serve as potential therapeutic targets.Further studies are necessary to unveil the mechanisms underlying the expression variations of these genes in POAG. | Jian Wu Caixia Lin Chenlong Yang Lijie Pan Hongyi Liu Sirui Zhu Shuwen Wei Xu Jia Qi Zhang Ziyu Yu Xiaofang Zhao Weihai Liu Yehong Zhuo Ningli Wang | 2023 | Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,12: | 0 |
| 15 | Unified casting(UniCast)aluminum alloy—a sustainable and low-carbon materials solution for vehicle lightweighting显示文摘Casting aluminum(Al)alloys have been widely used in the automotive industry to improve fuel economy as well as to reduce greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions in the vehicle use phase.However,the casting Al alloys used for load-bearing body and chassis components today are mostly made from primary Al with a low impurity Fe content typically less than 0.2 wt.%,owing to the requirements for high ductility and adequate fatigue strength.Primary Al is made directly from alumina which was refined from aluminum ore(bauxite),using an electrolytic process which consumes a lot of energy and produces GHG emissions that are much higher than those from steel making.The objective of this paper is to present a Unified Casting(UniCast)Al alloy concept as a sustainable materials solution for vehicle lightweighting.The UniCast alloy chemistry is intentionally designed to be more tolerant of Fe impurity.This chemistry can not only satisfy the requirements on castability,but also deliver mechanical properties needed for a variety of thin-walled and thick-walled automotive structural components that are produced by various casting processes.The UniCast alloy concept will contribute to the establishment of a closed-loop recycling system in the future as the shredded scrap obtained from the disposed end-of-life vehicles can be directly recycled back into UniCast alloy ingot with a more efficient sorting process.In addition,by setting the upper limit of Fe content in the UniCast alloy to a higher level,it will become possible to use a high fraction of post-consumer scraps to produce this alloy.To demonstrate the feasibility of this concept,an exemplary UniCast alloy chemistry has been elaborated in this article.Furthermore,challenges and future research opportunities related to the realization of UniCast alloy concept in the automotive industry are discussed.It is hoped that this article will be of great implication to industrial researchers and academicians for making concerted efforts to establish closed-loop recycling of Al castings for the automotive and other transportation industry segments. | Hongyi Zhan Guang Zeng Qigui Wang Congjie Wang Pan Wang Zhou Wang Yiwu Xu Devin Hess Paul Crepeau Jianfeng Wang | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,23: | 0 |
