1Roles of Helicobacter pylori infection and cyclooxygenase-2 expression in gastric carcinogenesis显示文摘AIM: Cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 is over expressed ingastrointestinal neoplasm. Helicobacter pylori ( H pylon)infection is causally linked to gastric cancer. However, theexpression of COX-2 in various stages of Hpylori-associatedgastric carcinogenesis pathway has not been elucidated.Therefore, the aim of this study was to clarify the role ofH pyloriinduced COX-2 expression during carcinogenesisin the stomach.METHODS: Gastric biopsies from 138 subjects [30 casesof chronic superficial gastritis (CSG), 28 cases of gastricglandular atrophy (GA), 45 cases of gastric mucosal intestinalmetaplasia (IM), 12 cases of moderate gastric epithelialdysplasia and 23 cases of gastric cancer] were enrolled.Hpyloriinfection was assessed by a rapid urease test andhistological examination (modified Giemsa staining). Theexpression of COX-1 and COX-2 in human gastric mucosawas detected by immunohistochemical staining.I^7~I_~: Hpyloriinfeddon rate was 64.3% in GA and 69.5%in gastric cancer, which was significantly higher than that(36.7%) in CSG (P<0.05). The positive expression rates ofCOX-2 were 10.0%, 35.7%, 37.8%, 41.7% and 69.5% inCSG, GA, IM, dysplasia and gastric cancer, respectively.From CSG to GA, IM, dysplasia and finally to gastric cancer,expression of COX-2 showed an ascending tendency, whereasCOX-1 expression did not change significantly in the gastricmucosa. 2Cross-Reaction of SARS-CoV Antigen with Autoantibodies in Autoimmune Diseases显示文摘To investigate the significance of the SARS-associated coronavirus (SARS-CoV) antibody, detected by ELISA and indirect immunofluorescence assays (IFA) for the SARS-CoV Vero E6 cell lysates, in non-SARS subjects,114 serum samples from healthy controls and 104 serum specimens from autoimmune disease patients were collected. The results of ELISA showed that among 114 sera from healthy controls, 4 (3.5 %) were positive of SARS-CoV-IgG antibody and 114 (100%) were all negative of SARS-CoV-IgM antibody; the specificity of SARS-CoV-IgG antibody for SARS patients was 96.5%, but the specificity of both SARS-CoV-IgG and -IgM antibodies for SARS patients was 100%. In 58 cases with SLE, positive rates of SARS-CoV-IgG and -IgM antibodies were 32.8% (19/58) and 8.6% (5/58), respectively, in which 11 cases (19%) were positive of both SARS-CoV-IgG and -IgM antibodies; in 10 cases with SS, positive rate of both SARS-CoV-IgG and -IgM antibodies was 10% (1/10); in 16 cases with MCTD, positive rate of SARS-CoV-IgG was 37.5% (6/16), positive rate of both SARS-CoV-IgG and -IgM antibodies was 6.3% (1/16); in 20 cases with RA, one case was positive (5%) of SARS-CoV-IgG. However, of all samples with positive SARS-CoV-IgG and -IgM antibodies for autoimmune diseases and healthy controls, SARS-CoV RNA and antibodies were all negative by RT-PCR and IFA. All sera for negative or positive ELISA results were also negative or positive results using ELISA with Vero E6 cells lysates. These studies showed that SARS-CoV Vero E6 cell lysates for the ELISA to detect SARS-CoV antibodies could lead to the false-positive reactions or cross-reactions of SARS-CoV antibodies in non-SARS diseases and healthy controls, and the false-positive reactions or cross-reactions were related to Vero E6 cell lysates and autoantibodies in non-SARS population.YunshanWang ShanhuiSun HongShen LihuaJiang MaoxiuZhang DongjieXiao YangLiu XiaoliMa YongZhang NongjianGuo TanghongJia 2004Cellular & Molecular Immunology2004,1,4:6
3A Study of Methods to Identify Industry-University-Research Institution Cooperation Partners based on Innovation Chain Theory显示文摘Purpose: This study aims at identifying potential industry-university-research collaboration(IURC) partners effectively and analyzes the conditions and dynamics in the IURC process based on innovation chain theory.Design/methodology/approach: The method utilizes multisource data, combining bibliometric and econometrics analyses to capture the core network of the existing collaboration networks and institution competitiveness in the innovation chain. Furthermore, a new identification method is constructed that takes into account the law of scientific research cooperation and economic factors.Findings: Empirical analysis of the genetic engineering vaccine field shows that through the distribution characteristics of creative technologies from different institutions, the analysis based on the innovation chain can identify the more complementary capacities among organizations.Research limitations: In this study, the overall approach is shaped by the theoretical concept of an innovation chain, a linear innovation model with specific types or stages of innovation activities in each phase of the chain, and may, thus, overlook important feedback mechanisms in the innovation process.Practical implications: Industry-university-research institution collaborations are extremely important in promoting the dissemination of innovative knowledge, enhancing the quality of innovation products, and facilitating the transformation of scientific achievements.Originality/value: Compared to previous studies, this study emulates the real conditions of IURC. 4A knowledge discovery method based on analysis of multiple co-occurrence relationships in collections of journal papers显示文摘Purpose:This paper explores a method of knowledge discovery by visualizing and analyzing co-occurrence relations among three or more entities in collections of journal articles.Design/methodology/approach:A variety of methods such as the model construction,system analysis and experiments are used.The author has improved Morris’crossmapping technique and developed a technique for directly describing,visualizing and analyzing co-occurrence relations among three or more entities in collections of journal articles.Findings:The visualization tools and the knowledge discovery method can efficiently reveal the multiple co-occurrence relations among three entities in collections of journal papers.It can reveal more and in-depth information than analyzing co-occurrence relations between two entities.Therefore,this method can be used for mapping knowledge domain that is manifested in association with the entities from multi-dimensional perspectives and in an all-round way.Research limitations:The technique could only be used to analyze co-occurrence relations of less than three entities at present.Practical implications:This research has expanded the study scope of co-occurrence analysis.The research result has provided a theoretical support for co-occurrence analysis.Originality/value:There has not been a systematic study on co-occurrence relations among multiple entities in collections of journal articles.This research defines multiple co-occurrence and the research scope,develops the visualization analysis tool and designs the analysis model of the knowledge discovery method.Hongshen PANG 2012Chinese Journal of Library and Information Science2012,,4:4

6The Expression and Change of the β_3 Integrin Subunit and Fibronectin in Normal Human Oviductal Tissue and Tubal Ectopic Pregnant Tissue显示文摘Objective To investigate the expression and change of the β3 integrin subunit and fibronectin in normal human oviductal tissue during various phases of the menstrual cycle and tubal ectopic pregnant tissue Methods Samples of normal ( n=29 ) and pregnant fallopian tube ( n=22 ) tissues were obtained from women who had normal cycle and history of normal pregnancy. Normal oviductal tissue samples were divided into 4 groups based on their menstrual cycle.Both expression and distribution of the β3 subunit and fibronectin were determined with the immunohistochemical method and the image analysis.Results The β3 subunit was expressed in the cytoplasm of ciliated cells. The expression level of the β3 subunit was higher after ovulation than that before ovulation in isthmus epithelium (P <0.001), and declined significantly after ovulation in ampullae epithelium (P<0. 001). In umbrella epithelium within 4 days after ovulation, the expression level of the β3 subunit was observed at rather higher level among other phases (P <0.001). The ciliated and secretory cells of the epithelium except for where the pregnancy occurred in tubal pregnancy expressed the β3 subunit, and no significant relationship was found between the normal tubal tissue of the secretory phase and tubal ectopic pregnant tissue (P>0. 05). Fibronectin was expressed in the basement membrane of human oviductal epithelium and matrix. The expression level of fibronectin was higher in the hyperplastic phase than that in the secretory one (P <0. 001). And it was lower in normal tubal tissue of the secretory phase than that in tubal ectopic pregnant tissue (P <0.001).Conclusion The β3 integrin subunit was expressed in the ciliated cells of human oviductal epithelium, and fibronectin was expressed in the basement membrane of human oviductal epithelium and matrix. Their expression and change in oviductal tissue is based on different phases of menstrual cycle. Theβ3 subunit could not related to the occurrence of tubal ectopic pregnancy. 7Quality Control on Crimping of Large Diameter Welding Pipe显示文摘Crimping is used in production of large diameter submerged-arc welding pipes. Many researches are focused on crimping in certain manufacturing mode of welding pipe. The application scopes of research achievements become limited due to lack of uniformity in theoretical analysis. In order to propose a crimping prediction method in order to control forming quality, the theory model of crimping based on elastic-plastic mechanics is established. The main technical parameters are determined by theoretical analysis, including length of crimping, base radius of punch, terminal angle of punch, base radius of die, terminal angle of die and horizontal distance between punch and die. In addition, a method used to evaluate the forming quality is presented, which investigates the bending angle after springback, forming force, straight edge length and equivalent radius of curvature. In order to investigate the effects of technical parameters on forming quality, a two-dimensional finite element model is established by finite element software ABAQUS. The finite element model is verified in that its shapes error is less than 5% by comparable experiments, which shows that their geometric precision meets demand. The crimping characteristics is obtained, such as the distribution of stress and strain and the changes of forming force, and the relation curves of technical parameters on forming quality are given by simulation analysis. The sensitivity analysis indicates that the effects of length of crimping, technical parameters of punch on forming quality are significant. In particular, the data from simulation analysis are regressed by response surface method (RSM) to establish prediction model. The feasible technical parameters are obtained from the prediction model. 11The critical pressure for driving a red blood cell through a contracting microfluidic channel显示文摘When a red blood cell(RBC) is driven by a pressure gradient through a microfluidic channel, its passage or blockage provides a measure of the rigidity of the cell. This has been developed as a means to separate RBCs according to their mechanical properties, which are known to change with pathological conditions such as malaria infection. In this study, we use numerical simulations to establish a quantitative connection between the minimum pressure needed to drive an RBC through a contracting microfluidic channel and the rigidity of the cell membrane.
