Comprehensive Investigation and Assessment of Nutrient and Heavy Metal Contamination in the Surface Water of Coastal Bohai Sea in China显示文摘With the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization of coastal regions, eutrophication and metal pollution have caused serious environmental problems in China. To better understand the potential environmental risks associated with nutrients and heavy metals, the surface water was comprehensively investigated in the coastal Bohai Sea.A total of 150 sites were sampled from seven coastal regions, and the concentrations of nutrients(DIN and DIP)and metals(Cd,Pb,Zn,Cu,Cr,As and Hg)in the surface seawater were measured. The results showed that the DIN concentration of about 50%sites exceeded the Grade-I of Seawater Quality Standard of China.Due to high concentrations of DIN,the status of eutrophication was serious in the Bohai Bay and Shuangtaizi Estuary.According to Seawater Quality Standard of China,Pb,Zn,Hg and Cu were the main metal pollutants in the coastal Bohai Sea.There was generally low ecological risk caused by heavy metals, but certain hotspots existed near Shuangtaizi Estuary and Changxingdao Island.LIN Heshan LI Hongjun YANG Xiaolong XU Zizhou TONG Yindong YU Xingguang 2020Journal of Ocean University of China2020,19,4:2

Anomalous in-plane magnetoresistance of electron-doped cuprate La_(2.x)Ce_xCuO_(4±δ)显示文摘We report systematic in-plane magnetoresistance measurements on the electron-doped cuprate La_(2.x)Ce_xCuO_(4±δ) thin films as a function of Ce doping and oxygen content in the magnetic field up to 14 T. A crossover from negative to positive magnetoresistance occurs between the doping level x = 0.07 and 0.08. Above x = 0.08, the positive magnetoresistance effect appears, and is almost indiscernible at x = 0.15. By tuning the oxygen content, the as-grown samples show negative magnetoresistance effect, whereas the optimally annealed ones display positive magnetoresistance effect at the doping level x = 0.15. Intriguingly, a linear-field dependence of in-plane magnetoresistance is observed at the underdoping level x = 0.06, the optimal doping level x = 0.1 and slightly overdoping level x = 0.11. These anomalies of in-plane magnetoresistance may be related to the intrinsic inhomogeneity in the cuprates, which is discussed in the framework of network model.Heshan Yu Ge He Yanli Jia Xu Zhang Jie Yuan Beiyi Zhu A.Kusmartseva F.V.Kusmartsev Kui Jin 2017Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2017,60,9:1
Spatial pattern of macrobenthic communities along a shelf-slope-basin transect across the Bering Sea显示文摘Due to its unique geological location, the Bering Sea is an ideal place to investigate the water exchange and ecosystem connectivity of the Pacific Ocean–Arctic Ocean and subarctic–Arctic region. Based on a number of summer surveys(July to September, 2010, 2012 and 2014), macrobenthic communities and their spatial-temporal patterns are exhibited for the majority of the Bering Sea(53°59′–64°36′N). The results show that the macrobenthic communities were dominated by northern cold-water species and immigrant eurythermic species, and the communities assumed a dispersed and patchy distribution pattern. Polychaetes(Scoloplos armiger), crustaceans(Ceradocus capensis) and sea urchins(Echinarachnius parma) were the main dominant groups in the shallow shelves; the sea star(Ctenodiscus crispatus) and the brittle star(Ophiura sarsii) were the main dominant groups in the continental slope; whereas small polychaetes(Prionospio malmgreni) dominated the basin area. Sediment type, water depth, and currents were the major factors affecting the structure and spatial distribution of the macrobenthic communities. Compared with other seas, the shallow areas of the Bering Sea showed an extremely high-standing biomass. In particular, the northern shelf area(north of St. Lawrence Islands and west of 170°W),which is primarily controlled by Anadyr Water, is an undersea oasis. In contrast, a deficiency in the downward transport of particulate organic carbon has resulted in a desert-like seabed in the basin area. By comparing our results to previous studies, we found that macrobenthic communities of the Bering Sea have undergone significant structural changes in recent decades, resulting in a decrease in abundance and an increase in biomass. In addition, populations of amphipods and bivalves in the northern shelves have decreased significantly and have been gradually replaced by other species. These changes might be associated with advanced seasonal ice melting, changes in organic carbon input, and global warming, indicating that large-scale ecosystem changes have been occurring in the Bering Sea.LIN Heshan LIU Kun WANG Jianjun HUANG Yaqin LI Zhong LIN Junhui HE Xuebao ZHANG Shuyi MOU Jianfeng WANG Yu XING Bingpeng 2018Acta Oceanologica Sinica2018,37,6:1
Self-organization of various“phase-separated”nanostructures in a single chemical vapor deposition显示文摘Chemical vapor deposition(CVD)is one of the most versatile techniques for the controlled synthesis of functional nanomaterials. When multiple precursors are induced, the CVD process often gives rise to the growth of doped or alloy compounds. In this work,we demonstrate the self-assembly of a variety of‘phase-separated’functional nanostructures from a single CVD in the presence of various precursors. In specific, with silicon substrate and powder of Mn and SnTe as precursors,we achieved self-organized nanostructures including Si/SiOx core-shell nanowire heterostructures both with and without embedded manganese silicide particles,Mn11Si19 nanowires, and SnTe nanoplates. The Si/SiOx core-shell nanowires embedded with manganese silicide particles were grown along the<111>direction of the crystalline Si via an Au-catalyzed vapor-liquid-solid process,in which the Si and Mn vapors were supplied from the heated silicon substrates and Mn powder, respectively. In contrast, direct vapor-solid deposition led to particle-free<110>-oriented Si/SiOx core-shell nanowires and<100>-oriented Mn11Si19 nanowires,a promising thermoelectric material. No Sn or Te impurities were detected in these nanostructures down to the experimental limit.Topological crystalline insulator SnTe nanoplates with dominant{100}and{111}facets were found to be free of Mn(and Si)impurities, although nanoparticles and nanowires containing Mn were found in the vicinity of the nanoplates. While multiple-channel transport was observed in the SnTe nanoplates,it may not be related to the topological surface states due to surface oxidation. Finally,we carried out thermodynamic analysis and density functional theory calculations to understand the‘phase-separation’phenomenon and further discuss general approaches to grow phase-pure samples when the precursors contain residual impurities.Jinmei Wang Dongyue Xie Zhen Li Xiaohang Zhang Xing Sun Amanda L.Coughlin Thomas Ruch Qiang Chen Yaroslav Losovyj Seunghun Lee Heshan Yu Haidong Zhou Haiyan Wang Jian Wang Shixiong Zhang 2020Nano Research2020,13,6:0
Optimizing impedance matching by a dual-carbon Co-regulation strategy of Co_(3)O_(4)@rGO/celery stalks derived carbon composites for excellent microwave absorption显示文摘Both macroscopic composition and microstructure should be considered for reasonable microwave ab-sorbent designing. In this study,Co_(3)O_(4)@reduced graphene oxide(rGO)/Celery stalks derived carbon(CDC)was prepared by loading Co_(3)O_(4) particles into rGO and biomass-derived carbon mixture through oxidation precipitation.By changing the mass ratio of rGO to CDC,the dielectric and impedance matching proper-ties of the composites can be easily regulated. The RL min value of Co_(3)O_(4)@rGO/CDC_(13) composite(weight ratio for rGO:CDC is 1:3)reaches-84.3 dB with a thickness of 4.6 mm,and the widest effective band-width can be obtained at 4.5 GHz with a matching thickness of 2.8 mm.The Co_(3)O_(4)@rGO/CDC_(13) compos-ite with multiple components(Co_(3)O_(4),CDC,rGO)and 3D net structure produces magnetic/dielectric loss combinations, interfacial polarization, and multiple reflections and scattering, and the CDC with half tube and half sheet structure is conducive to the optimization of impedance matching. The strategy of co-regulating dielectric properties of materials with double carbon provides a novel pathway for the prepa-ration of lightweight,low-cost,and high-performance absorbers.Xiubo Xie Yukun Wang Xueqin Sun Heshan Wang Ronghai Yu Wei Du Hongjing Wu 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,2:0
Two-dimensional molecular crystalline semiconductors towards advanced organic optoelectronics显示文摘The compelling demand for higher performance and lower cost in the optoelectronics industry has driven the development of organic semiconductors.Molecular crystalline semiconductors(MCSs),especially two-dimensional MCSs(2D-MCSs),possess intrinsic ordered structure, quantum confinement effect, high mobility, unique optical and electrical properties, and more ecological and cheaper production, which make great promises in high-performance optoelectronic applications. Here we provide a review of design principles and synthetic strategies for 2D-MCS materials, exploiting their potential as a revolution option in associated optoelectronic devices. The merits and limitations of each strategy are presented, and these molecular crystals are considered as a competitive choice for emerging semiconducting materials in information science. Finally, the current challenges and future perspectives in this field are also elaborated.Xuemei Dong Heshan Zhang Yinxiang Li Bin Liu Keyuan Pan Yijie Nie Mengna Yu Mustafa Eginligil Juqing Liu Wei Huang 2022Nano Research2022,15,10:0
Community structure and spatial-temporal variation of netzphytoplankton in the Bering Sea in summer显示文摘Marine biodiversity is changing in response to altered physical environment, subsequent ecological changes as well as anthropogenic disturbances. In this study, phytoplankton samples in situ collected in the Bering Sea in July of 1999 and 2010 were analyzed to obtain phytoplankton community structure and spatial-temporal variation between the beginning and end of this decade, and the correlation of phytoplankton community dynamics and environmental factors was investigated. A total of 5 divisions, 58 genera and 153 species of phytoplankton belonging to 3 ecological groups were identified. The vast majority of phytoplankton consisted of diatoms accounting for 66.7% of the total species and 95.2% of the total abundance. Considering differentiation in spatial extent and phytoplankton sample types, there were subtle changes in species composition, large altering in abundance and significant variation in spatial distribution between two surveys. The abundance peak area was located at the Bering Strait while sub peak was found at the Bering Sea Basin. The boreal-temperate diatom was the dominant flora, which was subsequently replaced by eurythermal and frigid-water diatom. Phytoplankton community in the Bering Sea was not a simplex uniform community but composed of deep-ocean assemblage and neritic assemblage. The deep-ocean assemblage was located in the northwestern Pacific Ocean and Bering Sea Basin, dominated by boreal-temperate species(Neodenticula seminae, Thalassiothrix longissima, Amphiprora hyperborean, Chaetoceros atlanticus, Thalassiosira trifulta, etc.) and eurychoric species(Thalassionema nitzschioides, Ch. compressus, Rhizosolenia styliformis, etc.), and characterized by low abundance, even interspecies abundance allocations, diverse dominant species and high species diversity. The neritic assemblage was distributed on the continental shelf and slope of Bering Sea and was mainly composed of frigid-water species(Th.nordenski?ldii, Ch. furcellatus, Ch. socialis, Bacteriosira fragilis, etc.) and eurythermal and euryhaline species(L.danicus, Ch. curvisetus, Coscinodiscus curvatulus, etc.), and it was characterized by high abundance, uneven interspecies allocations, prominent dominant species and low species diversity. Spatial-temporal variation of species composition and abundance of phytoplankton in the Bering Sea was directly controlled by surface circulation, nutrient supply and ice edge.WANG Yu XIANG Peng YE Youyin LIN Gengming YANG Qingliang LIN Heshan LIN Mao 2016Acta Oceanologica Sinica2016,35,4:0
