1Efficient first-principles prediction of solid stability:Towards chemical accuracy显示文摘The question of material stability is of fundamental importance to any analysis of system properties in condensed matter physics and materials science.The ability to evaluate chemical stability,i.e.,whether a stoichiometry will persist in some chemical environment,and structure selection,i.e.what crystal structure a stoichiometry will adopt,is critical to the prediction of materials synthesis,reactivity and properties.Here,we demonstrate that density functional theory,with the recently developed strongly constrained and appropriately normed(SCAN)functional,has advanced to a point where both facets of the stability problem can be reliably and efficiently predicted for main group compounds,while transition metal compounds are improved but remain a challenge.SCAN therefore offers a robust model for a significant portion of the periodic table,presenting an opportunity for the development of novel materials and the study of fine phase transformations even in largely unexplored systems with little to no experimental data.Yubo Zhang Daniil A.Kitchaev Julia Yang Tina Chen Stephen T.Dacek Rafael A.Sarmiento-Pérez Maguel A.L.Marques Haowei Peng Gerbrand Ceder John P.Perdew Jianwei Sun 2018npj Computational Materials2018,,1:7

3Acetylation of ezrin regulates membrane–cytoskeleton interaction underlying CCL18-elicited cell migration显示文摘Ezrin,a membrane–cytoskeleton linker protein,plays an essential role in cell polarity establishment,cell migration,and division.Recent studies show that ezrin phosphorylation regulates breast cancer metastasis by promoting cancer cell survivor and promotes intrahepatic metastasis via cell migration.However,it was less characterized whether there are additional post-translational modifications and/or post-translational crosstalks on ezrin underlying context-dependent breast cancer cell migration and invasion.Here we show that ezrin is acetylated by p300/CBP-associated factor(PCAF)in breast cancer cells in response to CCL18 stimulation.Ezrin physically interacts with PCAF and is a cognate substrate of PCAF.The acetylation site of ezrin was mapped by mass spectrometric analyses,and dynamic acetylation of ezrin is essential for CCL18-induced breast cancer cell migration and invasion.Mechanistically,the acetylation reduced the lipid-binding activity of ezrin to ensure a robust and dynamic cycling between the plasma membrane and cytosol in response to CCL18 stimulation.Biochemical analyses show that ezrin acetylation prevents the phosphorylation of Thr567.Using atomic force microscopic measurements,our study revealed that acetylation of ezrin induced its unfolding into a dominant structure,which prevents ezrin phosphorylation at Thr567.Thus,these results present a previously undefined mechanism by which CCL18-elicited crosstalks between the acetylation and phosphorylation on ezrin control breast cancer cell migration and invasion.This suggests that targeting PCAF signaling could be a potential therapeutic strategy for combating hyperactive ezrin-driven cancer progression.Xiaoyu Song Wanjuan Wang Haowei Wang Xiao Yuan Fengrui Yang Lingli Zhao McKay Mullen Shihao Du Najdat Zohbi Saravanakumar Muthusamy Yalei Cao Jiying Jiang Peng Xia Ping He Mingrui Ding Nerimah Emmett Mingming Ma Quan Wu Hadiyah-Nicole Green Xia Ding Dongmei Wang Fengsong Wang Xing Liu 2020Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,6:1

5Intelligent polymeric hydrogen sulfide delivery systems for therapeutic applications显示文摘Hydrogen sulfide(H_(2)S)plays an important role in regulating various pathological processes such as protecting mammalian cell from harmful injuries,promoting tissue regeneration,and regulating the process of various diseases caused by physiological disorders.Studies have revealed that the physiological effects of H_(2)S are highly associated with its concentrations.At relatively low concentration,H_(2)S shows beneficial functions.However,long-time and high-dose donation of H_(2)S would inhibit regular biological process,resulting in cell dysfunction and apoptosis.To regulate the dosage of H_(2)S delivery for precision medicine,H_(2)S delivery systems with intelligent characteristics were developed and a variety of biocompatibility polymers have been utilized to establish intelligent polymeric H_(2)S delivery systems,with the abilities to specifically target the lesions,smartly respond to pathological microenvironments,as well as real-timely monitor H_(2)S delivery and lesion conditions by incorporating imaging-capable moieties.In this review,we focus on the design,preparation,and therapeutic applications of intelligent polymeric H_(2)S delivery systems in cardiovascular therapy,inflammatory therapy,tissue regenerative therapy,cancer therapy and bacteria-associated therapy.Strategies for precise H_(2)S therapies especially imaging-guided H_(2)S theranostics are highlighted.Since H_(2)S donors with stimuli-responsive characters are vital components for establishing intelligent H_(2)S delivery systems,the development of H_(2)S donors is also briefly introduced.Fan Rong Tengjiao Wang Qian Zhou Haowei Peng Jingtian Yang Quli Fan Peng Li 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,1:0

8Genetic structure of Aedes albopictus(Diptera:Culicidae)populations in China and relationship with the knockdown resistance mutations显示文摘Background Mosquito control is needed to prevent dengue fever, which is mainly spread byAedes albopictus in China. Application of insecticides is one of the main mosquito control methods;however, this approach can fail due to the knockdown resistance (kdr) gene mutation that causes decreased sensitivity to insecticides inAe. albopictus. Thekdr mutation patterns among different regions in China differ significantly. However, the underlying mechanism and factors that influencekdr mutation remain unclear. To explore the potential influence of genetic background on the development of insecticide resistance inAe. albopictus, we analyzed the genetic structure ofAe. albopictus populations in China and its correlation with majorkdr mutations.Methods We collectedAe. albopictus from 17 sites in 11 provinces (municipalities) across China from 2016 to 2021 and extracted the genomic DNA from individual adult mosquitoes. We selected eight microsatellite loci for genotyping, and based on microsatellite scores, we estimated intraspecific genetic diversity, population structure, and effective population size. The association between the intrapopulation genetic variation and F1534 mutation rate was evaluated by the Pearson correlation coefficient.Results Based on variation analysis of the microsatellite loci of 453 mosquitoes representing 17 populations throughout China, more than 90% of the variation occurred within individuals, whereas only about 9% of the variation occurred among populations, indicating that field populations ofAe. albopictus are highly polymorphic. The northern populations tended to belong to gene pool I (BJFT 60.4%, SXXA 58.4%, SDJN 56.1%, SXYC 46.8%), the eastern populations tended to belong to pool III (SH 49.5%, JZHZ 48.1%), and the southern populations tended to belong to three different gene pools. Moreover, we observed that the greater the fixation index (FST), the lower the wild-type frequency of F1534 ofVSGC.Conclusions The degree of genetic differentiation amongAe. albopictus populations in China was low. These populations were divided into three gene pools, in which the northern and eastern pools are relatively homogeneous, while the southern gene pool is heterogeneous.
