| 1 | Precision Livestock Farming: Precision feeding technologies and sustainable livestock production显示文摘In order to be able to produce safe,uniform,cheap,environmentally-and welfare-friendly food products and market these products in an increasingly complex international agricultural market,livestock producers must have access to timely production related information.Especially the information related to feeding/nutritional issues is important,as feeding related costs are always significant part of variables costs for all types of livestock production.Therefore,automating the collection,analysis and use of production related information on livestock farms will be essential for improving livestock productivity in the future.Electronically-controlled livestock production systems with an information and communication technology(ICT)focus are required to ensure that information is collected in a cost effective and timely manner and readily acted upon on farms.New electronic and ICT related technologies introduced on farms as part of Precision Livestock Farming(PLF)systems will facilitate livestock management methods that are more responsive to market signals.The PLF technologies encompass methods for electronically measuring the critical components of the production system that indicate the efficiency of resource use,interpreting the information captured and controlling processes to ensure optimum efficiency of both resource use and livestock productivity.These envisaged real-time monitoring and control systems could dramatically improve production efficiency of livestock enterprises.However,further research and development is required,as some of the components of PLF systems are in different stages of development.In addition,an overall strategy for the adoption and commercial exploitation of PLF systems needs to be developed in collaboration with private companies.This article outlines the potential role PLF can play in ensuring that the best possible management processes are implemented on farms to improve farm profitability,quality of products,welfare of livestock and sustainability of the farm environment,especially as it related to intensive livestock species. | T M Banhazi L Babinszky V Halas M Tscharke | 2012 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2012,5,4: | 5 |

| 8 | Toxoplasma gondii infection among chronic hepatitis C patients:A casecontrol study显示文摘Objective:To determine the detection rate of anti-Toxoplasma gondii(T.gondii) IgG and IgM in chronic HCV patients attending the Department of Tropical Medicine Mansoura University hospital in Egypt.Methods:This study included 120 adult chronic HCV patients.81 decompensate cirrhosis(late-stage)and 39 chronic HCV non cirrhotic patients(early-stage) and40 healthy blood donors as controls.Serum samples uere examined for anti-Toxoplasma IgM and anti-Toxoplasma IgG antibodies by ELISA.Real-time RT-polymerase chain reaction assay was done for quantitation of hepatitis C virus.Results:Anti-T.gondii IgG antibodies were detected in 75(92.6%) of 81 late-stage cirrhotic patients.30(76.9%) of the 39 chronic HCV non cirrhotic patients(early-Stage) and in 6(15ft) of 40 controls with statistically significant difference(P<0.001).Anti-T.gondii IgM antibodies were found in 11(13.6%) in late stage patients,5(12.8%)in early stage and in 3(7.5%) of controls with no statistical significant difference(P=0.610).There was no correlation between stage of fibrosis and IgM or IgG antibodies positivity in our studied groups(P=0.526).High IgG levels significantly correlated with high viral load(P=0.026).Conclusions:Our findings suggest that the serious opportunistic T.gondii infection represent a potential significant risk for chronic HCV patients.So.toxoplasmosis should be considered in their investigations and follow-up. | Hala A El-Nahas Nora L El-Tantawy Raghda E Farag Argaya MA Alsalem | 2014 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2014,7,8: | 1 |
