2Practice guidelines for the pathological diagnosis of primary liver cancer: 2015 update显示文摘In 2010, a panel of Chinese pathologists reported the first expert consensus for the pathological diagnosis of primary liver cancers to address the many contradictions and inconsistencies in the pathological characteristics and diagnostic criteria for PLC. Since then considerable clinicopathological studies have been conducted globally, prompting us to update the practice guidelines for the pathological diagnosis of PLC. In April 18, 2014, a Guideline Committee consisting of 40 specialists from seven Chinese Societies(including Chinese Society of Liver Cancer, Chinese Anti-Cancer Association; Liver Cancer Study Group, Chinese Society of Hepatology, Chinese Medical Association; Chinese Society of Pathology, Chinese Anti-Cancer Association; Digestive Disease Group, Chinese Society of Pathology, Chinese Medical Association; Chinese Society of Surgery, Chinese Medical Association; Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology, Chinese Anti-Cancer Association; Pathological Group of Hepatobiliary Tumor and Liver Transplantation, Chinese Society of Pathology, Chinese Medical Association) was created for the formulation of the first guidelines for the standardization of the pathological diagnosis of PLC, mainly focusing on the following topics: gross specimen sampling, concepts and diagnostic criteria of small hepatocellular carcinoma(SHCC), microvascular invasion(MVI), satellite nodules,and immunohistochemical and molecular diagnosis. The present updated guidelines are reflective of current clinicopathological studies, and include a novel 7-point baseline sampling protocol, which stipulate that at least four tissue specimens should be sampled at the junction of the tumor and adjacent liver tissues in a 1:1 ratio at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock reference positions. For the purposes of molecular pathological examination, at least one specimen should be sampled at the intratumoral zone, but more specimens should be sampled for tumors harboring different textures or colors. Specimens should be sampled at both adjacent and distant peritumoral liver tissues or the tumor margin in order to observe MVI, satellite nodules and dysplastic foci/nodules distributed throughout the background liver tissues. Complete sampling of whole SHCC ≤ 3 cm should be performed to assess its biological behavior, and in clinical practice, therapeutic borders should be also preserved, even in SHCC. The diagnostic criteria of MVI and satellite nodules, immunohistochemical panels, as well as molecular diagnostic principles, such as clonal typing, for recurrent HCC and multinodule HCC were also proposed and recommended. The standardized process of pathological examination is aimed at ensuring the accuracy of pathological PLC diagnoses as well as providing a valuable frame of reference for the clinical assessment of tumor invasive potential, the risk of postoperative recurrence, long-term survival, and the development of individualized treatment regimens. 3Surgicopathological classification of hepatic space-occupying lesions:A single-center experience with literature review显示文摘Accompanying rapid developments in hepatic surgery,the number of surgeries and identifications of histological types of primary hepatic space-occupying lesions (PHSOLs) have increased dramatically.This has led to many changes in the surgicopathological spectrum of PHSOLs,and has contributed to a theoretical basis for modern hepatic surgery and oncological pathology.Between 1982 and 2009 at the Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital (EHBH) in Shanghai,31 901 patients underwent surgery and were diagnosed as having a PHSOL.In this paper,we present an analysis of the PHSOL cases at the EHBH for this time period,along with results from a systematic literature review.We describe a surgicopathological spectrum comprising more than 100 types of PHSOLs that can be stratified into three types:tumor-like,benign,and malignant.We also stratified the PHSOLs into six subtypes derived from hepatocytes;cholangiocytes;vascular,lymphoid and hemopoietic tissues;muscular,fibrous and adipose tissues;neural and neuroendocrine tissues;and miscellaneous tissues.The present study provides a new classification system that can be used as a current reference for clinicians and pathologists to make correct diagnoses and differential diagnoses among various PHSOLs.Wen-Ming Cong Hui Dong Lu Tan Xu-Xu Sun Meng-Chao Wu 2011World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,19:25
4A distributed scheme developed for eco-hydrological modeling in the upper Heihe River显示文摘Modeling the hydrological processes at catchment scale requires a flexible distributed scheme to represent the catchment topography,river network and vegetation pattern.This study has developed a distributed scheme for eco-hydrological simulation in the upper Heihe River.Based on a 1 km×1 km grid system,the study catchment is divided into 461 sub-catchments,whose main streams form the streamflow pathway.Furthermore,a 1 km grid is represented by a number of topographically similar'hillslope-valley'systems,and the hillslope is the basic unit of the eco-hydrological simulation.This model is tested with a simplified hydrological simulation focusing on soil-water dynamics and streamflow routing.Based on a 12-year simulation from 2001 to 2012,it is found that variability in hydrological behavior is closely associated with climatic and landscape conditions especially vegetation types.The subsurface and groundwater flows dominate the total river runoff.This implies that the soil freezing and thawing process would significantly influence the runoff generation in the upper Heihe basin.Furthermore,the runoff components and water balance characteristics vary among different vegetation types,showing the importance of coupling the vegetation pattern into catchment hydrological simulation.This paper also discusses the model improvement to be done in future study.YANG DaWen GAO Bing JIAO Yang LEI Hui Min ZHANG YanLin YANG HanBo CONG ZhenTao 2015Science China Earth Sciences2015,58,1:20

6Community structure and elevational diversity patterns of soil Acidobacteria显示文摘Acidobacteria is one of the most dominant and abundant phyla in soil,and was believed to have a wide range of metabolic and genetic functions. Relatively little is known about its community structure and elevational diversity patterns. We selected four elevation gradients from 1000 to 2800 m with typical vegetation types of the northern slope of Shennongjia Mountain in central China. The vegetation types were evergreen broadleaved forest,deciduous broadleaved forest,coniferous forest and sub-alpine shrubs. We analyzed the soil acidobacterial community composition,elevational patterns and the relationship between Acidobacteria subdivisions and soil enzyme activities by using the 16 S rRNA meta-sequencing technique and multivariate statistical analysis. The result found that 19 known subdivisions as well as an unclassified phylotype were presented in these forest sites,and Subdivision 6 has the highest number of detectable operational taxonomic units(OTUs). A significant single peak distribution pattern(P < 0.05) between the OTU number and the elevation was observed. The Jaccard and Bray–Curtis index analysis showed that the soil Acidobacteria compositional similarity significantly decreased(P < 0.01) with the increase in elevation distance. Mantel test analysis showed the most of the soil Acidobacteria subdivisions had the significant relationship(P < 0.01) with different soil enzymes. Therefore,soil Acidobacteria may be involved in different ecosystem functions in global elemental cycles. 7A drug-eluting Balloon for the trEatment of coronarY bifurcatiON lesions in the side branch:a prospective multicenter ranDomized (BEYOND)clinical trial in China显示文摘Background:Treatment of coronary bifurcation lesions remains challenging;a simple strategy has been preferred as of late,but the disadvantage is ostium stenosis or even occlusion of the side branch(SB).Only a few single-center studies investigating the combination of a drug-eluting stent in the main branch followed by a drug-eluting balloon in the SB have been reported.This prospective,multicenter,randomized study aimed to investigate the safety and efficacy of a paclitaxel-eluting balloon(PEB)compared with regular balloon angioplasty(BA)in the treatment of non-left main coronary artery bifurcation lesions.Methods:Between December 2014 and November 2015,a total of 222 consecutive patients with bifurcation lesions were enrolled in this study at ten Chinese centers.Patients were randomly allocated at a 1:1 ratio to a PEB group(n=113)and a BA group(n=109).The primary efficacy endpoint was angiographic target lesion stenosis at 9 months.Secondary efficacy and safety endpoints included target lesion revascularization,target vessel revascularization,target lesion failure,major adverse cardiac and cerebral events(MACCEs),all-cause death,cardiac death,non-fatal myocardial infarction,and thrombosis in target lesions.The main analyses performed in this clinical trial included case shedding analysis,base-value equilibrium analysis,effectiveness analysis,and safety analysis.SAS version 9.4 was used for the statistical analyses.Results:At the 9-month angiographic follow-up,the difference in the primary efficacy endpoint of target lesion stenosis between the PEB(28.7%±18.7%)and BA groups(40.0%±19.0%)was-11.3%(95%confidence interval:-16.3%to-6.3%,Psuperiority<0.0001)in the intention-to-treat analysis,and similar results were recorded in the per-protocol analysis,demonstrating the superiority of PEB to BA.Late lumen loss was significantly lower in the PEB group than in the BA group(-0.06±0.32 vs.0.18±0.34 mm,P<0.0001).For intention-to-treat,there were no significant differences between PEB and BA in the 9-month percentages of MACCEs(0.9%vs.3.7%,P=0.16)or non-fatal myocardial infarctions(0 vs.0.9%,P=0.49).There were no clinical events of target lesion revascularization,target vessel revascularization,target lesion failure,all-cause death,cardiac death or target lesion thrombosis in either group.Conclusions:In de novo non-left main coronary artery bifurcations treated with provisional T stenting,SB dilation with the PEB group demonstrated better angiographic results than treatment with regular BA at the 9-month follow-up in terms of reduced target lesion stenosis.Trial registration:ClinicalTrials.gov,NCT02325817;http://gffzzd3f38a9638994581spoknu60fq99n6f5c.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn.Quan-Min Jing Xin Zhao Ya-Ling Han Ling-Ling Gao Yang Zheng Zhan-Quan Li Ping Yang Hong-Liang Cong Chuan-Yu Gao Tie-Min Jiang Hui Li Jun-Xia Li Dong-Mei Wang Geng Wang Zhan-Chun Cong Zhong Zhang 2020Chinese Medical Journal2020,,8:17
8Germanium/perovskite heterostructure for high-performance and broadband photodetector from visible to infrared telecommunication band显示文摘A high-performance and broadband heterojunction photodetector has been successfully fabricated.The heterostructure device is based on a uniform and pinhole-free perovskite film constructed on top of a single-crystal germanium layer.The perovskite/germanium photodetector shows enhanced performance and a broad spectrum compared with the single-material-based device.The photon response properties are characterized in detail from the visible to near-infrared spectrum.At an optical fibre communication wavelength of 1550 nm,the heterojunction device exhibits the highest responsivity of 1.4 A/W.The performance is promoted because of an antireflection perovskite coating,the thickness of which is optimized to 150 nm at the telecommunication band.At a visible light wavelength of 680 nm,the device shows outstanding responsivity and detectivity of 228 A/W and 1.6×10^(10) Jones,respectively.These excellent properties arise from the photoconductive gain boost in the heterostructure device.The presented heterojunction photodetector provides a competitive approach for wide-spectrum photodetection from visible to optical communication areas.Based on the distinguished capacity of light detection and harvesting from the visible to near-infrared spectrum,the designed germanium/perovskite heterostructure configuration is believed to provide new building blocks for novel optoelectronic devices.Wei Hu Hui Cong Wei Huang Yu Huang Lijuan Chen Anlian Pan Chunlai Xue 2019Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1:14
9Indoor SVOC pollution in China:A review显示文摘Epidemiological and toxicological studies have proved that semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) may have significant adverse effects on human health.For example,phthalic acid esters (PAEs),polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) may harm the endocrine,reproductive and respiratory systems of humans.Moreover,some SVOCs are carcinogenic.This paper summarizes the source emission characteristics for typical SVOCs observed indoors,evaluates the gas-phase and particle-phase concentrations of indoor di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) under the steady-state condition,estimates the exposure of PAEs and the health risk of PAHs,and then proposes some solutions to some urgent problems for indoor SVOC pollution.The results show that the production and consumption quantities of plasticizers,coal and cigarettes in China are the highest in the world,and that the consumption of flame retardants and pesticides are also very high.As estimated,indoor plasticizer and flame retardant concentrations are higher in China than that of the developed countries such as the USA,which implies that indoor SVOC pollution may be more serious in China.According to the model analysis,DEHP remains mainly in the particle-phase under the steady-state condition;the particle-phase concentration of DEHP increases with increasing particle concentration.The exposure of DEHP is higher for children than it is for adults.It is estimated that 260 thousand people are diagnosed with cancer resulting from exposure to PAHs every year.A multidisciplinary approach to the further study of indoor SVOC pollution is necessary.WANG LiXin ZHAO Bin LIU Cong LIN Hui YANG Xu ZHANG YinPing 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,15:13
10Combined hepatocellular and cholangiocarcinoma originating from the same clone:a pathomolecular evidence-based study显示文摘Background:Combined hepatocellular and cholangiocarcinoma(CHC) is a unique subtype of liver cancer comprising both hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(ICC);however,its cellular origin remains unclear.The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinicopathologic features and the clonal relationship between HCC and ICC in 34 patients with CHC.Methods:The clinicopathologic features and prognosis of the 34 CHC patients were compared with those of 29 patients with separated HCC and ICC(5HC).Loss of heterozygosity(LOH) at 10 highly polymorphic microsatellite markers was detected in 16 CHC and 10 SHC tissues for determination of the clonal origin of CHC.Expression of hepatocyte markers[hepatocyte paraffin 1(Hep Par 1) and glypican 3(GPC3)]and cholangiocyte markers[cytokeratin(CK)7 and 19]in tumor tissues was examined by immuno histochemical analysis.Results:In the 16 CHC specimens,the difference in LOH patterns between HCC and ICC was less than 30%,suggesting the same clonal origin of HCC and ICC.Consistent with this finding,immunohistochemical analysis revealed that hepatocyte markers(Hep Par 1 and GPC3) and cholangiocyte markers(CK7 and CK19) were simultaneously expressed in both the HCC and ICC components in 52.9%of CHC specimens,suggesting that the two components shared a similar phenotype with hepatic progenitor cells(HPCs).On the contrary,in all 10 SHC cases,the difference in LOH patterns between the HCC and ICC components was greater than 30%,suggesting different clonal origins of HCC and ICC.Overall survival and disease-free survival were shorter for patients with CHC than for patients with SHC(P < 0.05).Conclusions:Our results suggest that the HCC and ICC components of CHC may originate from the same clone,having the potential for dual-directional differentiation similar to HPCs.CHC tended to exhibit the biological behaviors of both HCC and ICC,which may enhance the infiltrative capacity of tumor cells,leading to poor clinical outcomes for patients with CHC.Qian Zhao Wen-Long Yu Xin-Yuan Lu Hui Dong Yi-Jin Gu Xia Sheng Wen-Ming Cong Meng-Chao Wu 2016Chinese Journal of Cancer2016,35,11:9

12Ginsenoside Rg1 Attenuates Isoflurane-induced Caspase-3 Activation via Inhibiting Mitochondrial Dysfunction显示文摘Objective The inhalation anesthetic isoflurane has been shown to induce mitochondrial dysfunction and caspase activation, which may lead to learning and memory impairment. Ginsenoside Rg1 is reported to be neuroprotective. We therefore set out to determine whether ginsenoside Rg1 can attenuate isoflurane-induced caspase activation via inhibiting mitochondrial dysfunction. Methods We investigated the effects of ginsenoside Rg1 at concentrations of 12.5, 25, and 50 μmol/L and pretreatment times of 12 h and 24 h on isoflurane-induced caspase-3 activation in H4 na?ve and stably transfected H4 human neuroglioma cells that express full-length human amyloid precursor protein(APP)(H4-APP cells). For mitochondrial dysfunction, we assessed mitochondrial permeability transition pore(m PTP) and adenosine-5'-triphosphate(ATP) levels. We employed Western blot analysis, chemiluminescence, and flowcytometry. Results Here we show that pretreatment with 50 μmol/L ginsenoside Rg1 for 12 h attenuated isoflurane-induced caspase-3 activation and mitochondrial dysfunction in H4-APP cells, while pretreatment with 25 and 50 μmol/L ginsenoside Rg1 for 24 h attenuated isoflurane-induced caspase-3 activation and mitochondrial dysfunction in both H4 na?ve and H4-APP cells. Conclusion These data suggest that ginsenoside Rg1 may ameliorate isoflurane-induced caspase-3 activation by inhibiting mitochondrial dysfunction. 14Crop rotation-dependent yield responses to fertilization in winter oilseed rape(Brassica napus L.)显示文摘Differences in soil physical, chemical and biological properties between paddy–upland and continuous upland rotations will influence nutrient relations and crop growth. With the aim of estimating rapeseed yield performance in response to fertilization in rice–rapeseed(RR) and cotton–rapeseed(CR) rotations, on-farm experiments were conducted at 70 sites across Hubei province, central China. The economically optimal fertilizer rates of winter oilseed rape in different rotations were determined. Field experiments showed that previous crops significantly influenced seed yields. Without N fertilization,seed yields were significantly lower for the RR rotation than for the CR rotation. The average yield increase ratio and agronomic efficiency associated with nitrogen(N)fertilization in the RR rotation were 96.6% and 6.56 kg kg- 1, significantly higher than those in the CR rotation. No seed yield differences were detected between the two rotations under phosphorus(P) and potassium(K) fertilization. In contrast to the CR rotation, N fertilizer played a more vital role in maintaining high seed yields in the RR rotation owing to the lower indigenous soil N supply. Compared with local N fertilizer recommendation rates for the RR rotation, on average an additional 18 kg N ha- 1was recommended according to the economically optimal N fertilizer rate(EONFR). In contrast, the EONFR was 14 kg N ha- 1lower than the locally recommended N fertilizer rate for the CR rotation. There were no differences between the two rotations for the average economically optimal P and K fertilization rates. 16Correlation of Platelet and Coagulation Function with Blood Stasis Syndrome in Coronary Heart Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis显示文摘Objective To investigate the correlation of platelet and coagulation function with blood stasis syndrome(BSS)in coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods The protocol for this meta-analysis was registered on PROSPERO(CRD42019129452).PubMed,Excerpta Medica Database(Embase),the Cochrane Library,and China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)were searched from inception to 1st June,2020.Trials were considered eligible if they enrolled BSS and non-BSS(NBSS)patients with CHD and provided information on platelet and coagulation function.The platelet function,coagulation function,and fibrinolytic activity were compared between the BSS and NBSS groups.Forest plots were generated to show the SMDs or ESs with corresponding 95%CIs for each study.Subgroup analysis and sensitivity analysis were performed to explore potential sources of heterogeneity.Results The systematic search identified 1,583 articles.Thirty trials involving 10,323 patients were included in the meta-analysis.The results showed that mean platelet volume,platelet distribution width,platelet aggregation rate,platelet P selectin,fibrinogen,plasminogen activator inhibitor-1(PAI-1),thromboxane B2(TXB2),6-keto-prostaglandin F1alpha(6-keto-PGF1α),and TXB2/6-keto-PGF1αwere higher in the BSS group than in the NBSS group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Activated partial thromboplastin time was lower in the BSS group than in the NBSS group in the acute phase of CHD(P<0.01).The R and K values in thromboelastography and tissue plasminogen activator(t-PA)and t-PA/PAI-1 were lower in the BSS group than in the NBSS group(all P<0.01).No difference was found in the results of platelet count,plateletcrit,maximum amplitude,von Willebrand factor,prothrombin time,thrombin time,international normalized ratio,etc.between groups.Conclusions Increased platelet function,hypercoagulability,and decreased fibrinolytic activity were found among CHD patients with BSS.XIN Qi-qi CHEN Xun YUAN Rong YUAN Ya-hui HUI Jia-qi MIAO Yu CONG Wei-hong CHEN Ke-ji 2021Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2021,27,11:7

19A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 20Role of PLC-PIP2 and cAMP-PKA Signal Pathways in Radiation-induced Immune-suppressing Effect显示文摘Objective The purpose of the present study was to observe the changes in CD4+CD25+Nrp1+Treg cells after irradiation with different doses and explore the possible molecular mechanisms involved. Methods ICR mice and mouse lymphoma cell line(EL-4 cells) was used. The expressions of CD4,CD25,Nrp1,calcineurin and PKC-α were detected by flow cytometry. The expressions of TGF-β1,IL-10,PKA and cAMP were estimated with ELISA. Results At 12 h after irradiation,the expression of Nrp1 increased significantly in 4.0 Gy group,compared with sham-irradiation group(P<0.05) in the spleen and thymus,respectively,when ICR mice received whole-body irradiation(WBI). Meanwhile the synthesis of Interleukin 10(IL-10) and transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1) increased significantly after high dose irradiation(HDR)(> or = 1.0 Gy). In addition,the expression of cAMP and PKA protein increased,while PKC-α,calcineurin decreased at 12h in thymus cells after 4.0 Gy X-irradiation. While TGF-β1 was clearly inhibited when the PLC-PIP2 signal pathway was stimulated or the cAMP-PKA signal pathway was blocked after 4.0 Gy X-irradiation,this did not limit the up-regulation of CD4+CD25+Nrp1+Treg cells after ionizing radiation.
