1Classification and assessment of rock mass parameters in Choghart iron mine using P-wave velocity显示文摘Engineering rock mass classification,based on empirical relations between rock mass parameters and engineering applications,is commonly used in rock engineering and forms the basis for designing rock structures.The basic data required may be obtained from visual observation and laboratory or field tests.However,owing to the discontinuous and variable nature of rock masses,it is difficult for rock engineers to directly obtain the specific design parameters needed.As an alternative,the use of geophysical methods in geomechanics such as seismography may largely address this problem.In this study,25 seismic profiles with the total length of 543 m have been scanned to determine the geomechanical properties of the rock mass in blocks Ⅰ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ-2 of the Choghart iron mine.Moreover,rock joint measurements and sampling for laboratory tests were conducted.The results show that the rock mass rating(RMR) and Q values have a close relation with P-wave velocity parameters,including P-wave velocity in field(V_(PF)).P-wave velocity in the laboratory(V_(PL)) and the ratio of V_(PF) V_(PL)(i.e.K_p = V_(PF)/V_(PL).However,Q value,totally,has greater correlation coefficient and less error than the RMR,In addition,rock mass parameters including rock quality designation(RQD),uniaxial compressive strength(UCS),joint roughness coefficient(JRC) and Schmidt number(RN) show close relationship with P-wave velocity.An equation based on these parameters was obtained to estimate the P-wave velocity in the rock mass with a correlation coefficient of 91%.The velocities in two orthogonal directions and the results of joint study show that the wave velocity anisotropy in rock mass may be used as an efficient tool to assess the strong and weak directions in rock mass.Mohammadreza Hemmati Nourani Mohsen Taheri Moghadder Mohsen Safari 2017Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2017,9,2:8
2On the evaluation of steam assisted gravity drainage in naturally fractured oil reservoirs显示文摘Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage(SAGD)as a successful enhanced oil recovery(EOR)process has been applied to extract heavy and extra heavy oils.Huge amount of global heavy oil resources exists in carbonate reservoirs which are mostly naturally fractured reservoirs.Unlike clastic reservoirs,few studies were carried out to determine the performance of SAGD in carbonate reservoirs.Even though SAGD is a highly promising technique,several uncertainties and unanswered questions still exist and they should be clarified for expansion of SAGD methods to world wide applications especially in naturally fractured reservoirs.In this communication,the effects of some operational and reservoir parameters on SAGD processes were investigated in a naturally fractured reservoir with oil wet rock using CMG-STARS thermal simulator.The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of fracture properties including fracture orientation,fracture spacing and fracture permeability on the SAGD performance in naturally fractured reservoirs.Moreover,one operational parameter was also studied;one new well configuration,staggered well pair was evaluated.Results indicated that fracture orientation influences steam expansion and oil production from the horizontal well pairs.It was also found that horizontal fractures have unfavorable effects on oil production,while vertical fractures increase the production rate for the horizontal well.Moreover,an increase in fracture spacing results in more oil production,because in higher fracture spacing model,steam will have more time to diffuse into matrices and heat up the entire reservoir.Furthermore,an increase in fracture permeability results in process enhancement and ultimate recovery improvement.Besides,diagonal change in the location of injection wells(staggered model)increases the recovery efficiency in long-term production plan.Seyed Morteza Tohidi Hosseini Shayan Esfahani Mehran Hashemi Doulatabadi Abdolhossein Hemmati Sarapardeh Amir H.Mohammadi 2017Petroleum2017,3,2:2

5Effects of herbal extracts and compounds and pharmacological agents on pulmonary fibrosis in animal models:a review显示文摘Pulmonary fibrosis, a chronic inflammatory disease that occurs mainly in older adults, is a serious health threat with few effective treatment options. The etiological aspects of pulmonary fibrosis remain unknown, though some factors such as cigarette smoking, viral infections, surfactant protein polymorphisms, and chronic or high doses use of certain drugs are considered to be risk factors for the progression of pulmonary fibrosis. No standard treatments have been introduced in clinic yet. Although glucocorticoids and antioxidant drugs have been administered, the severe and broad-spectrum adverse effects of glucocorticoids limit their use. Efforts to identify novel therapeutic agents with improved safety profiles are therefore ongoing. In this review, the authors have described the effects of herbal extracts and compounds and certain pharmacological agents on pulmonary fibrosis in animal models. 6Stochastic Transmission Expansion Planning Incorporating Reliability Solved Using SFLA Meta-heuristic Optimization Technique显示文摘This paper addresses stochastic transmission expansion planning(TEP)under uncertain load conditions when reliability is taken into consideration.The main objective of the proposed TEP is to minimize the total planning cost by denoting the place,number,and type of new transmission lines subject to safe operation criteria.In this paper,the objective function consists of two terms,namely,investment cost(IC)of new lines and reliability cost.The reliability cost is incorporated as the loss of load cost(LOLC).Network uncertainties in the form of loads are molded as Gaussian probability distribution function(PDF).Monte-Carlo simulation is applied to tackle the uncertainties.The proposed stochastic TEP is expressed as constrained optimization planning and solved using shuffled frog leaping algorithm(SFLA)SFLA is compared to other optimization techniques such as particle swarm optimization(PSO)and genetic algorithms(GA).Finally,stochastic planning(planning including uncertainty)and deterministic planning(planning excluding uncertainty)are compared to demonstrate impacts of uncertainty on the results.Simulation results in different cases and scenarios verify the effectiveness and viability of the proposed stochastic TEP,including uncertainty and reliability.Saedeh Alaee Rahmat-Allah Hooshmand Reza Hemmati 2016CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2016,2,2:2
