| 1 | High-average-power, high-repetition-rate tunable terahertz difference frequency generation with GaSe crystal pumped by 2 μm dual-wavelength intracavity KTP optical parametric oscillator显示文摘We have demonstrated a high-average-power,high-repetition-rate optical terahertz(THz)source based on difference frequency generation(DFG)in the GaSe crystal by using a near-degenerate 2μm intracavity KTP optical parametric oscillator as the pump source.The power of the 2μm dual-wavelength laser was up to 12.33 W with continuous tuning ranges of 1988.0–2196.2 nm/2278.4–2065.6 nm for two waves.Different GaSe cystal lengths have been experimentally investigated for the DFG THz source in order to optimize the THz output power,which was in good agreement with the theoretical analysis.Based on an 8 mm long GaSe crystal,the THz wave was continuously tuned from 0.21 to 3 THz.The maximum THz average power of 1.66μW was obtained at repetition rate of 10 kHz under 1.48 THz.The single pulse energy amounted to 166 pJ and the conversion efficiency from 2 μm laser to THz output was 1.68×10^(-6).The signal-to-noise ratio of the detected THz voltage was 23 dB.The acceptance angle of DFG in the GaSe crystal was measured to be 0.16°. | DEXIAN YAN YUYE WANG DEGANG XU PENGXIANG LIU CHAO YAN JIA SHI HONGXIANG LIU YIXIN HE LONGHUANG TANG JIANCHEN FENG JIANQIN GUO WEI SHI KAI ZHONG YUEN H.TSANG JIANQUAN YAO | 2017 | Photonics Research2017,5,2: | 5 |
| 2 | Reflective graphene oxide absorber for passively mode-locked laser operating at nearly 1μm显示文摘A low cost and simply fabricated reflective graphene oxide is successfully made. By using this absorber, as well as an end reflector, we obtain a passively mode-locked Yb:LuYSiO5 laser operating at nearly 1 μm. When the pump power is increased up to 5.73 W, stable mode locking is achieved. The central wavelength of the laser spectrum is 1043.2 nm with a pulse duration of 5.0 ps. | 6 | A study of different annealing schedules in SARNA-predict A permutation based SA algorithm for RNA folding显示文摘Purpose–The purpose of this paper is to present a study of the effect of different types of annealing schedules for a ribonucleic acid(RNA)secondary structure prediction algorithm based on simulated annealing(SA).Design/methodology/approach–An RNA folding algorithm was implemented that assembles the final structure from potential substructures(helixes).Structures are encoded as a permutation of helixes.An SA searches this space of permutations.Parameters and annealing schedules were studied and fine-tuned to optimize algorithm performance.Findings–In comparing with mfold,the SA algorithm shows comparable results(in terms of F-measure)even with a less sophisticated thermodynamic model.In terms of average specificity,the SA algorithm has provided surpassing results.Research limitations/implications–Most of the underlying thermodynamic models are too simplistic and incomplete to accurately model the free energy for larger structures.This is the largest limitation of free energy-based RNA folding algorithms in general.Practical implications–The algorithm offers a different approach that can be used in practice to fold RNA sequences quickly.Originality/value–The algorithm is one of only two SA-based RNA folding algorithms.The authors use a very different encoding,based on permutation of candidate helixes.The in depth study of annealing schedules and other parameters makes the algorithm a strong contender.Another benefit is that new thermodynamic models can be incorporated with relative ease(which is not the case for algorithms based on dynamic programming). | Herbert H.Tsang Kay C.Wiese | 2015 | International Journal of Intelligent Computing and Cybernetics2015,8,2: | 0 |
| 7 | Controllable optical emission wavelength in all-inorganic halide perovskite alloy microplates grown by two-step chemical vapor deposition显示文摘All-inorganic halide perovskites(IHP),CsPbX_(3)(X=Cl,Br,I)exhibiting efficient optical emissions within the spectral range of 410 to 730 nm are potential candidates for many optoelectronic devices.Anion alloying of these IHPs is expected to achieve tunable emission wavelength covering the entire visible spectrum.Here,we developed a two-step chemical vapor deposition(CVD)process for growing quaternary IHP CsPbX_(3)(X=Cl/Br and Br/I)alloys.By exploiting the fast diffusion of halide anions in IHPs,the alloy composition can be precisely controlled by the growth time of the respective layers once the growth of the individual ternary IHP is optimized.Hence complexities in the multi-parameter optimization in the conventional CVD growth of quaternary alloys can be mitigated.Using this process,we synthesized single crystalline,homogeneous and thermally stable CsPbCl3_((1−X))Br_(3x)and CsPbBr3_((1−X))I_(3x)perovskites alloy microplates and demonstrated continuously tunable emission covering the spectrum from 428 to 715 nm by varying the halide compositions in the alloys.These alloy microplates also exhibit room temperature amplified spontaneous emissions(ASE)along with strong photonic discharges from the microplate’s edges and hence are potentially useful as a gain medium as well as optical cavities for emissions with wavelengths covering the visible spectrum. | Mohammad K.Hossain Pengfei Guo Wayesh Qarony Yuen H.Tsang Chaoping Liu Sai W.Tsang Johnny C.Ho Kin M.Yu | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,11: | 0 |
