| 1 | Yield stability and relationships among stability parameters in faba bean(Vicia faba L.) genotypes显示文摘Sixteen faba bean genotypes were evaluated in 13 environments in Ethiopia during the main cropping season for three years(2009–2011). The objectives of the study were to evaluate the yield stability of the genotypes and the relative importance of different stability parameters for improving selection in faba bean. The study was conducted using a randomized complete block design with four replications. G × E interaction and yield stability were estimated using 17 different stability parameters. Pooled analysis of variance for grain yield showed that the main effects of both genotypes and environments, and the interaction effect, were highly significant(P ≤ 0.001) and(P ≤ 0.01), respectively. The environment main effect accounted for 89.27% of the total yield variation, whereas genotype and G × E interaction effects accounted for 2.12% and 3.31%, respectively.Genotypic superiority index(Pi) and FT3 were found to be very informative for selecting both high-yielding and stable faba bean genotypes. Twelve of the 17 stability parameters,including CVi, RS, α, λ, S2 di, bi, S(2)i, Wi, σ2i, EV, P59, and ASV, were influenced simultaneously by both yield and stability. They should accordingly be used as complementary criteria to select genotypes with high yield and stability. Although none of the varieties showed consistently superior performance across all environments, the genotype EK 01024-1-2ranked in the top third of the test entries in 61.5% of the test environments and was identified as the most stable genotype, with type I stability. EK 01024-1-2 also showed a17.0% seed size advantage over the standard varieties and was released as a new variety in2013 for wide production and named 'Gora'. Different stability parameters explained genotypic performance differently, irrespective of yield performance. | 5 | Genetic variability,heritability and genetic advance in linseed(Linum usitatissimum L)genotypes for seed yield and other agronomic traits显示文摘The experiment was conducted using simple lattice design with two replication and the trails was totally consisted fifty six genotypes.Data on seed yield and other Agronomic traits were used to estimate the genetic variability parameters,heritability and genetic advance(GA).Analysis of variance revealed highly significant and significant difference for all studied traits.Evaluated characters were exhibited different levels of variability,heritability and genetic advance among the studied genotypes.Low to high phenotypic coefficient of variation(PCV)and genotypic coefficient of variation(GCV)were recorded.The highest GCV and PVC values were found particularly for lodging percent(76.65%and 90.63%),harvest index(42.26%and 47.92%)yield per hectare(41.23%and 48.19%)and number of capsule per branch(30.81%and 37.25%)respectively,whereas low GCV and PCV(8.27%and 9.73%respectively)manifested for days to maturate.The highest broad sense heritability value manifested for harvest index(77.78%)followed by seed yield per hectare(73.21%),while lowest heritability(3.78%)revealed only for seed per capsule.In present study low to moderate genetic advance were manifested and high heritability and genetic advance as percentage of mean(>50)was recorded for lodging percentage,number of capsule per branch,seed yield per hectare and harvest index,indicating predominance of additive gene action for these characters.Therefore the result of this study suggests existence of variability for seed yield and other agronomic traits in these linseed genotypes,which should be exploited in future breeding. | Gemechu Nedi Terfa Gudeta Nepir Gurmu | 2020 | Oil Crop Science2020,5,3: | 1 |

| 13 | Lifestyle modification practices and associated factors among hypertensive patients at Gambella Hospital Southwest Ethiopia;2019显示文摘Background:Hypertension is one of the leading causes of death in developed and developing countries that need urgent strategies to implement interventions.Appropriate lifestyle modification practices are the corner stone of the prevention and control.Objective:To assess lifestyle modification practices and associated factors among hypertensive patients.Methods:A facility-based cross-sectional study was conducted among hypertensive patients from 1 April to 30 April 2019.Simple random sampling was used to select the study subjects.Data were entered to EpiData 3.1 and exported to Statistical Package for Social Sciences,version 25.0,for analysis.A binary logistic regression analysis was performed to determine predictors of lifestyle modifications among hypertensive patients.Results:The findings of this study revealed that the level of lifestyle modification practice was 79(39.5%).This finding is very low,and it has a significant effect on the management of hypertensive disorders and hypertension-related acute and chronic complications.Ethnicity,family history of hypertension,and knowledge about hypertension were identified as predictors of lifestyle modification practice.Conclusions:In this study,lifestyle modification practice is low(about 40%),but scientifically,almost all hypertensive patients on follow-up should practice lifestyle modification modalities. | Tilahun Tariku Jimalo Ebissa Negara Gemechu Admasu Belay Gizaw | 2022 | Frontiers of Nursing2022,9,3: | 0 |
