1Spatial Variation of P and N in Water and Sediments of Dianchi Lake, China显示文摘Dianchi Lake is one of the most eutrophic lakes in China. In order to understand this eutrophication and to help control the pollution, this research investigated the spatial distribution of Kjeldahl nitrogen (K-N) and total phosphorus(TP) through analysis of bottom water and sediment (3 depths) samples collected at 118 sites around Dianchi Lake. The concentrations of K-N and TP for the lake bottom water in the Caohai part of the lake were much higher than those in the Waihai part, generally decreasing from north to south. In the sediments, the K-N concentration was higher in the Caohai part and the middle of the Waihai part. On the other hand, TP in the sediments was greater in the southern and western parts. Both K-N and TP had similar spatial distributions for the sediment samples of three different depths.Vertically, the K-N and TP concentration in the sediments decreased with an increase in depth. This was evidence that eutrophication and pollution of Dianchi Lake was becoming gradually more severe. 2Lake Sediments from Dianchi Lake:A Phosphorus Sink or Source?显示文摘Dianchi Lake is a highly eutrophic lake in southwestern China where phosphorus (P) is the limiting element for eutrophication and where lake sediments play an important role in the P cycle. One hundred and eighteen sites were sampled throughout Dianchi Lake in 2002 to investigate the P loading of the lake sediments, while fresh surface sediments were studied in the laboratory to clarify its role for phosphorus. The results showed that concentrations of total phosphorus (TP) in sediments were very high, with a maximum value of 6.66 g kg-1, and decreased with sediment depth. P adsorption on surface sediments was rapid with adsorption amounts higher in acidic than in alkaline conditions. The release experiments showed that P release increased as pH rose from 7.0 to 10.5. Additionally, compared with aerobic conditions, P release was much higher under anaerobic conditions, especially with low P content in the lake water. At present, the sediments in Dianchi Lake still function as a sink for phosphorus at high P levels in lake water. 3Healthcare Algorithms by Wearable Inertial Sensors: A Survey显示文摘Wearable smart devices, such as smart watch, wristband are becoming increasingly popular recently. They generally integrate the MEMS-designed inertial sensors, including accelerometer, gyroscope and compass, which provide a convenient and inexpensive way to collect motion data of users. Such rich, continuous motion data provide great potential for remote healthcare and decease diagnosis. Information processing algorithms play the critical role in these approaches, which is to extract the motion signatures and to access different kinds of judgements. This paper reviews key algorithms in these areas. In particular, we focus on three kinds of applications: 1) gait analysis; 2) fall detection and 3) sleep monitoring. They are the most popular healthcare applications based on the inertial data. By categorizing and introducing the key algorithms, this paper tries to build a clear map of how the inertial data are processed; how the inertial signatures are defined, extracted, and utilized in different kinds of applications. 4Reversible N6-methyladenosine of RNA:The regulatory mechanisms on gene expression and implications in physiology and pathology显示文摘N6-methyladenosine(m6A)is the most abundant inner RNA modification in eukaryotes.Due to the development of RNA sequencing technology,the distribution pattern of m6A in the transcriptome has been uncovered.Dynamically,the reversible N6-methylation is mediated by two types of proteins,which are classified as“writers”and“erasers”.Under the association of specific co-factors,writers show spatiotemporal N6-methyltransferase activity.Mechanically,m6A can be recognized by“reader”proteins or can directly modify RNA conformation,and it widely affects gene expression by mediating RNA stability,translation,splicing and export.m6A is involved in a series of physiology processes.Dysregulation of m6A is gradually defined as the pathogenesis of some diseases,e.g.,cancer and cardiovascular disease.Therefore,a good understanding of m6A is essential for molecular biology and pathology research.In this article we systemically present an overview of the functions and mechanisms of identified m6A regulators.The discovered biological and pathological processes affected by m6A are also summarized.We hope that readers with related research interests benefit from our review.Xinyu Fang Mengyang Li Tao Yu Gaoli Liu Jianxun Wang 2020Genes & Diseases2020,7,4:4
5Serum mitochondrial tsRNA serves as a novel biomarker for hepatocarcinoma diagnosis显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),which makes up the majority of liver cancer,is induced by the infection of hepatitis B/C virus.Biomarkers are needed to facilitate the early detection of HCC,which is often diagnosed too late for effective therapy.The tRNA-derived small RNAs(tsRNAs)play vital roles in tumorigenesis and are stable in circulation.However,the diagnostic values and biological functions of circulating tsRNAs,especially for HCC,are still unknown.In this study,we first utilized RNA sequencing followed by quantitative reverse-transcription PCR to analyze tsRNA signatures in HCC serum.We identified tRF-Gln-TTG-006,which was remarkably upregulated in HCC serum(training cohort:24 HCC patients vs.24 healthy controls).In the validation stage,we found that tRF-Gln-TTG-006 signature could distinguish HCC cases from healthy subjects with high sensitivity(80.4%)and specificity(79.4%)even in the early stage(Stage I:sensitivity,79.0%;specificity,74.8%;155 healthy controls vs.153 HCC patients from two cohorts).Moreover,in vitro studies indicated that circulating tRF-Gln-TTG-006 was released from tumor cells,and its biological function was predicted by bioinformatics assay and validated by colony formation and apoptosis assays.In summary,our study demonstrated that serum tsRNA signature may serve as a novel biomarker of HCC.Shoubin Zhan Ping Yang Shengkai Zhou Ye Xu Rui Xu Gaoli Liang Chenyu Zhang Xi Chen Liuqing Yang Fangfang Jin Yanbo Wang 2022Frontiers of Medicine2022,16,2:2

12Spatial Allocation of Urban Medical Facilities for the Elderly in China: With Hefei City as Example显示文摘The severe situation of a constantly growing aging population has brought along great challenges to the development of China’s medical and health undertakings. From the perspective of fairness, this paper discusses the rationality of the spatial allocation of medical facilities in the urban area of Hefei, considering the elderly’s demand through accessibility analysis. In term of medical facilities distribution, the 10-minute pedestrian accessible area of all medical facilities for the elderly is far from evenly covering the city’s urban area. The areas of high coverage rate concentrate within the Second Ring Road and aggregate in the sub-centers of the city as well. While in the fringe areas far away from the city center in the direction of the sub-city centers, which are undergoing the anti-aggregation of the elderly, the coverage rate of medical facilities is quite low. In term of medical facilities capacity(i.e., number of beds), there exits also an imbalance, with some facilities facing a serious shortage of beds, while some others seeing a remarkable surplus of beds supply. 16Study on Physical and Mechanical Properties of Structural Laminated Bamboo Panel显示文摘In this paper, the physical and mechanical properties of laminated bamboo lamber were studied by testing moisture content, delamination ratio, horizontal shear strength, MOE and MOR of the structure-use material, in the same time, these subjects of finger-joint were tested too. The results showed that, the horizontal shear strength, MOR, MOE of laminated bamboo were superior to the ordinary structure-use timber in architecture, such as Pinus. 17Paternal environmental exposure-induced spermatozoal small noncoding RNA alteration meditates the intergenerational epigenetic inheritance of multiple diseases显示文摘Studies of human and mammalian have revealed that environmental exposure can affect paternal health conditions as well as those of the offspring.However,studies that explore the mechanisms that meditate this transmission are rare.Recently,small noncoding RNAs(sncRNAs)in sperm have seemed crucial to this transmission due to their alteration in sperm in response to environmental exposure,and the methodology of microinjection of isolated total RNA or sncRNAs or synthetically identified sncRNAs gradually lifted the veil of sncRNA regulation during intergenerational inheritance along the male line.Hence,by reviewing relevant literature,this study intends to answer the following research concepts:(1)paternal environmental factors that can be passed on to offspring and are attributed to spermatozoal sncRNAs,(2)potential role of paternal spermatozoal sncRNAs during the intergenerational inheritance process,and(3)the potential mechanism by which spermatozoal sncRNAs meditate intergenerational inheritance.In summary,increased attention highlights the hidden wonder of spermatozoal sncRNAs during intergenerational inheritance.Therefore,in the future,more studies should focus on the origin of RNA alteration,the target of RNA regulation,and how sncRNA regulation during embryonic development can be sustained even in adult offspring.Xin Yin Azhar Anwar Yanbo Wang Huanhuan Hu Gaoli Liang Chenyu Zhang 2022Frontiers of Medicine2022,16,2:0
