| 1 | Trefoil factors:Tumor progression markers and mitogens via EGFR/MAPK activation in cholangiocarcinoma显示文摘AIM:To investigate trefoil factor(TFF) gene copy number,mRNA and protein expression as potential biomarkers in cholangiocarcinoma(CCA).METHODS:TFF mRNA levels,gene copy number and protein expression were determined respectively by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(PCR),quantitative PCR and immunohistochemistry in bile duct epithelium biopsies collected from individuals with CCA,precancerous bile duct dysplasia and from disease-free controls.The functional impact of recombinant human(rh) TFF2 peptide treatment on proliferation and epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) /mitogenactivated protein kinase(MAPK) signaling was assessed in the CCA cell line,KMBC,by viable cell counting and immunoblotting,respectively.RESULTS:TFF1,TFF2 and TFF3 mRNA expression was significantly increased in CCA tissue compared to disease-free controls,and was unrelated to gene copy number.TFF1 immunoreactivity was strongly increased in both dysplasia and CCA,whereas TFF2 immunoreactivity was increased only in CCA compared to diseasefree controls.By contrast,TFF3 immunoreactivity was moderately decreased in dysplasia and further decreased in CCA.Kaplan-Meier analysis found no association of TFF mRNA,protein and copy number with age,gender,histological subtype,and patient survival time.Treatment of KMBC cells with rhTFF2 stimulated proliferation,triggered phosphorylation of EGFR and downstream extracellular signal related kinase(ERK),whereas co-incubation with the EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor,PD153035,blocked rhTFF2-dependent proliferation and EGFR/ERK responses.CONCLUSION:TFF mRNA/protein expression is indicative of CCA tumor progression,but not predictive for histological sub-type or survival time.TFF2 is mitogenic in CCA via EGFR/MAPK activation. | Kanuengnuch Kosriwong Trevelyan R Menheniott Andrew S Giraud Patcharee Jearanaikoon Banchob Sripa Temduang Limpaiboon | 2011 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2011，17，12： | 16 |

| 4 | Urine-derived stem/progenitor cells:A focus on their characterization and potential显示文摘Cell therapy,i.e.,the use of cells to repair an affected tissue or organ,is at the forefront of regenerative and personalized medicine.Among the multiple cell types that have been used for this purpose[including adult stem cells such as mesenchymal stem cells or pluripotent stem cells],urine-derived stem cells(USCs)have aroused interest in the past years.USCs display classical features of mesenchymal stem cells such as differentiation capacity and immunomodulation.Importantly,they have the main advantage of being isolable from one sample of voided urine with a cheap and unpainful procedure,which is broadly applicable,whereas most adult stem cell types require invasive procedure.Moreover,USCs can be differentiated into renal cell types.This is of high interest for renal cell therapy-based regenerative approaches.This review will firstly describe the isolation and characterization of USCs.We will specifically present USC phenotype,which is not an object of consensus in the literature,as well as detail their differentiation capacity.In the second part of this review,we will present and discuss the main applications of USCs.These include use as a substrate to generate human induced pluripotent stem cells,but we will deeply focus on the use of USCs for cell therapy approaches with a detailed analysis depending on the targeted organ or system.Importantly,we will also focus on the applications that rely on the use of USC-derived products such as microvesicles including exosomes,which is a strategy being increasingly employed.In the last section,we will discuss the remaining barriers and challenges in the field of USC-based regenerative medicine. | Perrine Burdeyron Sébastien Giraud Thierry Hauet Clara Steichen | 2020 | World Journal of Stem Cells2020，12，10： | 6 |

| 10 | Prevalence of Malnutrition and Frailty in Elderly Cancer Patients and Resulting Impact on Primary Treatment Recommendations in Colorectal and Breast Cancer显示文摘Objectives To estimate the prevalence of malnutrition in elderly cancer patients and its association with frailty and primary cancer treatment recommendations in patients with the two most prevalent cancers(colorectal cancer,CRC and breast cancer,BC)in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France.Methods The entire cohort of 704 patients aged 75 years or older presenting with cancer who underwent comprehensive geriatric assessment(CGA)between 2014 and 2017 was included.Nutritional status,frailty(defined by the Balducci classification system based on CGA parameters and comorbidity),and pathological criteria were analyzed in terms of the cancer treatment recommendations suggested by geriatricians both in the whole cohort and in those with CRC and BC.Results In the whole group of 704 patients(84.3+/-4.8 years),the prevalence of malnutrition was 62.9%,and was higher in CRC than in BC patients(71.1%vs 55.4%,P<0.01).In a multivariate analysis,malnutrition and frailty(as determined by the Balducci classification system)were independently related in CRC patients(OR:7.28,95%CI,1.58~34.03;P=0.012)and were unrelated to metastasis[odds ratio(OR):1.34,95%CI,0.56~3.18;P=0.5].By contrast,malnutrition in BC patients was related exclusively to the extent of metastasis(OR:3.52,95%CI,1.50~8.24;P=0.002).It was also demonstrated that geriatricians had a greater tendency to suggest only palliative care to CRC patients presenting with malnutrition(15.4%vs 2.7%,P=0.006)than to BC patients(9.8%vs 5.4%,NS).Conclusion Malnutrition in elderly cancer patients is prevalent,especially in those with colorectal cancer,where malnutrition is frailty-related and may strongly impact on cancer treatment strategies. | Vittoria Balzano Véronique Dardaine Giraud Carine Sauger Carole Lefebvre Patrick Heitzmann Thierry Lecomtef Étienne Dorvalg | 2020 | Journal of Nutritional Oncology2020，5，4： | 2 |
| 11 | Energy and Water Balance at Soil-Air Interface in a Sahelian Region显示文摘The aim of this work is an improvement of the parameterization of the soil moisture in the scheme of the Land Surface Process Model (LSPM) for applications over desert areas. In fact, in very dry conditions, the water vapour flux plays an important role in the evaporation processes and influences the underground profiles of humidity and temperature. The improved version of soil moisture parameterization in the LSPM scheme has been checked by using the data taken from the database of the field experiment HAPEX-Sahel (Hydrology-Atmosphere Pilot Experiment in the Sahel, 1990-1992). Model simulations refer to three dif- ferent stations located in Niger (Fallow, Millet and Tiger sites) where input data for LSPM and observations were simultaneously available. The results of simulations, taking into account the water vapour flux in the soil model LSPM, seem to compare better with the observed behaviour of soil moisture and turbulent heat fluxes than those overlooking the water vapour flux, confirming the great importance of the water vapour in such dry conditions. | Minwei Qian, N.
