Optimal operation of electricity, natural gas and heat systems considering integrated demand responses and diversified storage devices显示文摘In recent years, the increasing penetration level of renewable generation and combined heat and power(CHP) technology in power systems is leading to significant changes in energy production and consumption patterns. As a result, the integrated planning and optimal operation of a multi-carrier energy(MCE) system have aroused widespread concern for reasonable utilization of multiple energy resources and efficient accommodation of renewable energy sources. In this context, an integrated demand response(IDR) scheme is designed to coordinate the operation of power to gas(P2 G) devices, heat pumps, diversified storage devices and flexible loads within an extended modeling framework of energy hubs. Subsequently, the optimal dispatch of interconnected electricity, natural gas and heat systems is implemented considering the interactions among multiple energy carriers by utilizing the bi-level optimization method. Finally, the proposed method is demonstrated with a 4-bus multi-energy systemand a larger test case comprised of a revised IEEE 118-bus power system and a 20-bus Belgian natural gas system. | Linna NI Weijia LIU Fushuan WEN Yusheng XUE Zhaoyang DONG Yu ZHENG Rui ZHANG | 2018 | Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2018,6,3: | 30
Multi-agents modelling of EV purchase willingness based on questionnaires显示文摘Traditional experimental economics methods often consume enormous resources of qualified human participants, and the inconsistence of a participant’s decisions among repeated trials prevents investigation from sensitivity analyses. The problem can be solved if computer agents are capable of generating similar behaviors as the given participants in experiments. An experimental economics based analysis method is presented to extract deep information from questionnaire data and emulate any number of participants.Taking the customers’willingness to purchase electric vehicles(EVs)as an example,multi-layer correlation information is extracted from a limited number of questionnaires.Multiagents mimicking the inquired potential customers are modelled through matching the probabilistic distributions of their willingness embedded in the questionnaires. The authenticity of both the model and the algorithmis validated by comparing the agent-based Monte Carlo simulation results with the questionnaire-based deduction results. With the aid of agent models, the effects of minority agents with specific preferences on the results are also discussed. | Yusheng XUE Juai WU Dongliang XIE Kang LI Yu ZHANG Fushuan WEN Bin CAI Qiuwei WU Guangya YANG | 2015 | Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2015,3,2: | 14
Risk-based security-constrained economic dispatch in power systems显示文摘Based on a new perspective in coordinating with the traditional'N-1'criteria and system risk,a real-time electricity market model is presented,in which the system risk is employed to model the system’s overall security level. This new model is called the risk-based security-constrained economic dispatch(RB-SCED).Relative to the securityconstrained economic dispatch(SCED)used in the power industry today, the RB-SCED finds more secure and economic operating conditions. It does this by obtaining solutions that achieve a better balance between post-contingency flows on individual branches and the overall system risk. The method exploits the fact that,in a SCED solution, some postcontingency branch flows which exceed their limits impose little risk while other post-contingency branch flows which are within their limits impose significant risk. The RB-SCED softens constraints for the former and hardens constraints for the latter, thus achieving simultaneous improvement in both security and economy. In this work, the basic concept and the mathematical formulation of the RB-SCED model are systematically described.Experimental results on a 9-bus system and the ISO New England actual system have demonstrated the advantages of RB-SCED over SCED. | Qin WANG Aimin YANG Fushuan WEN Jihong LI | 2013 | Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2013,1,2: | 8
Multi-agent modeling and analysis of EV users' travel willingness based on an integrated causal/statistical/behavioral model显示文摘An electric vehicle(EV) centred ecosystem has not yet been formed, the existing limited statistic data are far from enough for the analysis of EV users' travel and charge behaviors, which however tends to be affected by many certain and uncertain factors. An experimental economics(EE)-based simulation method can be used to analyze thebehaviors of key participants in a system. However, it is restricted by the system size, experimental site and the number of qualified human participants. Therefore, this method is hard to be adopted for the behavioral analysis of a large number of human participants. In this paper, a new method combining a questionnaire statistics and the EEbased simulation is proposed. The causal relationship is considered in the design of the questionnaires and data extraction, then a multi-agent modeling integration method is introduced in the EE-based simulation, which enables the integration of causal/statistical/behavioral models into the multi-agent framework to reflect the EV users' travel willingness statistically. The generated multi-agents are used to replace human participants in the EE-based simulation in order to evaluate EV users' travel demands in different scenarios, and compare the differences of simulated or measured travel behaviors between potential EV users and internal combustion engine(ICE) vehicle users. | Juai WU Yusheng XUE Dongliang XIE Kang LI Fushuan WEN Junhua ZHAO Guangya YANG Qiuwei WU | 2018 | Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2018,6,6: | 7
Small signal stability analysis of power systems with high penetration of wind power显示文摘The integration of large amount of wind power into a power system imposes a new challenge for the secure and economic operation of the system. It is necessary to investigate the impacts of wind power generation on the dynamic behavior of the power system concerned. This paper investigates the impacts of large amount of wind power on small signal stability and the corresponding control strategies to mitigate the negative effects. The concepts of different types of wind turbine generators(WTGs)and the principles of the grid-connected structures of wind power generation systems are first briefly introduced. Then, the state-of-the-art of the studies on the impacts of WTGs on small signal stability as well as potential problems to be studied are clarified. Finally, the control strategies on WTGs to enhance power system damping characteristics are presented. | Ping HE Fushuan WEN Gerard LEDWICH Yusheng XUE | 2013 | Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2013,1,3: | 6
Primary energy congestion of power systems显示文摘Primary energy has the potential to bring challenges to the reliability, economic, and eco-friendliness of global electric power systems. The concept of electric power security are proposed, including many factors that are not considered in power system reliability analysis, such as coal supply for power system, fuel price for electricity power market, carbon emissions of power generation, and so on.It is broader than power system reliability and security, which means that providing energy in the form of reliable, economical, and eco-friendly electric power.Following an account of existing blackout defence methods and systems, the processes of transforming various kinds of primary energy into electric power and the interactions between them are described, particularly with regard to flows of energy, capital, and information.Factors that limit the liquidity of these flows are defined as“generalized congestion”,and the challenges presented by primary energy are named“primary energy congestion”.China’s dilemma on coal supply for power generation is presented in some detail as an example of primary energy congestion. To cope with impacts of the primary energy on electric power systems,an idea is introduced to extend the scope of existing coordinated blackout defence systems to account for primary energy, which would lead to an integrated tool to provide decision support to power system operators accounting for primary energy congestion. | Yusheng XUE Bin CAI Geoffrey JAMES Zhaoyang DONG Fushuan WEN Feng XUE | 2014 | Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2014,2,1: | 6
Evaluation index system of shared energy storage market towards renewable energy accommodation scenario:A China’s Qinghai province context显示文摘With the ever-increased installed capacity of renewable energy generation units in a power system, the so-called shared energy storage(SES),a novel business model under the umbrella of the shared economy principle, has the potential to play an essential role in the accommodation of renewable energy generation. However, unified evaluation standards and methods, which can help decision-makers analyze the performance of the SES market, are still not available. In this paper,an evaluation index system of the SES market is designed based on the trading rules of China’s Qinghai province and the structure-conduct-performance(SCP)analytical model. Moreover, the definition and characteristics of the indices, which can show the performance of the SES market from different perspectives, are given.Furthermore, the ideal cases are presented as the evaluation benchmark based on the development expectation of the SES market, and the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)and the technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution(TOPSIS)are applied to evaluate the SES market comprehensively. Finally,a case study based on actual data of the SES trading pilot project in Qinghai shows that the evaluation index system can reflect the operation status, existing problems and influencing factors of the SES market. | Baomin Fang Weiqiang Qiu Maochun Wang Wei Zhou Zhenzhi Lin Fushuan Wen | 2022 | Global Energy Interconnection2022,5,1: | 5
Resiliency oriented control of a smart microgrid with photovoltaic modules显示文摘The resiliency of a standalone microgrid is of considerable issue because the available regulation measures and capabilities are limited.Given this background, this paper presented a new mathematical model for a detailed photovoltaic(PV)module and the application of new control techniques for efficient energy extraction. The PV module employs a single-stage conversion method to integrate it with the utility grid. For extraction the maximum power from PV and integrate it to power grid,a three-phase voltage source converter is used. For obtaining the maximum power at a particular irradiance a maximum power point tracking(MPPT)scheme is used. The fuzzy logic control and adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system are proposed for direct current(DC)link voltage control. The proposed model and control scheme are validated through a comparison with the standard power-voltage and current-voltage charts for a PV module.Simulation results demonstrate that the system stability can be maintained with the power grid and in the island mode,in contrast with the MPPT. | Sambeet Mishra Kristjan Peterson Tauno Hilimon Jelena Shuvalova Fushuan Wen Ivo Palu | 2021 | Global Energy Interconnection2021,4,5: | 2
Adaptive Ultra-short-term Wind Power Prediction Based on Risk Assessment显示文摘A risk assessment based adaptive ultra-short-term wind power prediction(USTWPP)method is proposed in this paper. In this method, features are first extracted from the historical data, and then each wind power time series(WPTS)is split into several subsets defined by their stationary patterns.A WPTS that does not match any of the stationary patterns is then included in a subset of non-stationary patterns. Each WPTS subset is then related to a USTWPP model that is specially selected and optimized offline based on the proposed risk assessment index. For online applications, the pattern of the last short WPTS is first recognized, and the relevant prediction model is then applied for USTWPP.Experimental results confirm the efficacy of the proposed method. | Yusheng Xue Chen Yu Kang Li Fushuan Wen Yi Ding Qiuwei Wu Guangya Yang | 2016 | CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2016,2,3: | 2
