1Effects of transmitters and interleukin-10 on rat hepatic fibrosis induced by CCl_4显示文摘AIM: To study the effects of transmitters ET, AgII, PGI2,CGRP and GG on experimental rat hepatic fibrosis and the antifibrogenic effects of IL-10.METHODS: One hundred SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: control group (N): intraperitoneal injection a week; IL-10 treated group (E): besides same dosage of the third week. In the fifth, the seventh and the ninth week,rats in three groups were selected randomly to collect plasma and liver tissues. The levels of ET, AgII, PGI2, CGRP and GG were assayed by radioimmunoassay (RIA). The liver fibrosis was observed with silver staining.RESULTS: The hepatic fibrosis was developed with the increase of the injection frequency of CCl4. The ET, AgII, PGI2, CGRP The histological examination showed that the degrees of the rats liver fibrosis in group E were lower than those in group C.CONCLUSION: The transmitters ET, AgII, PGI2, CGRP and GG play a significant role in the rat hepatic fibrosis induced by CCl4. 2Expression of insulin-like growth factor 1 and insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor and its intervention by interleukin-10 in experimental hepatic fibrosis显示文摘AIM: To study the expression of IGF-1 and IGF-1R and its intervention by interleuldn-10 in the course of experimental hepatic fibrosis.METHODS: Hepatic fibrosis was induced in rats by carbon tetrachloride intoxication and liver specimens were taken from the rats administered CCl4 with or without IL-10 treatment and the animals of the control group.Immunoreactivities for insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1)and IGF-1 receptor(IGF-1R) were demonstrated by immunohistochemistry, and their intensities were evaluated in different animal groups.RESULTS: The positive levels for IGF-1 and IGF-1R were increased with the development of hepatic fibrosis, with the positive signals localized in cytoplasm and/or at the plasmic membrane of hepatocytes. The positive signals of IGF-1 and IGF-1R were observed more frequently (P<0.01) in the CCl4-treated group (92.0 % and 90.0 %) compared to those in the control group. The positive signals decreased significantly (P<0.05) in IL-10-treated group. 3Changed clinical aspects of primary liver cancer in China during the past 30 years显示文摘BACKGROUND: Primary liver cancer (PLC) is one of the most frequently seen tumors in China. Thirty years ago, patients with PLC were often detected at relatively late stage, with a palpable mass or marked clinical symptoms and poor prognosis. In the past 30 years, the diagnosis and treatment of PLC have been greatly improved with better prognosis. METHODS: In order to study the changes of PLC during the 30 years, the clinical data of 3250 patients with PLC from 10 medical institutions of China were collected, ana- lyzed , and compared with those of 3254 PLC patients be- fore the 30 years. RESULTS: In the 3250 patients aged 1-80 years, with an average age of 49.1 years, the male to female ratio (2.3:1) was lower than that before the 30 years. 73.5% of the 3250 patients sought medical advice within 3 months after the onset of the disease in contrast to 63.8% before the 30 years. Compared with those patients before the 30 years the symptoms and signs were alleviated generally. The HBsAg positive rate was 81.0%, but the HCV-Ab positive rate was 13.2%. The AFP level in 75% of patients was elevated, but in the remaining 25% was normal. 1912 patients (58.8%) were confirmed pathologically. Among them 1755 patients (91.8%) had hepatocellular carcinoma. The overall resec- tion rate was 46.3%. Those who had early, middle, late stage carcinoma accounted for 29.9%, 51.5%, and 18.6%respectively in contrast to 0.4%, 47.0%, and 52.6% repor- ted before the 30 years. The 1-, 3-, 5-year survival rates of the patients were 66.1%, 39.7%, and 32.5% respectively, whereas 93.5%, 70.1%, and 59.1% for the early stage pa- tients, and 65.3%, 30.5%, and 23.5% for the middle stage patients. The half and 1-year survival rates of the late stage patients were 52.5%, and 14.7%, respectively. CONCLUSION: Comparison with the clinical data before and after the 30 years show that PLC can be diagnosed ear- ly. 5Tumor size as a prognostic factor in patients with advanced gastric cancer in the lower third of the stomach显示文摘AIM: To explore the impact of tumor size on outcomes in patients with advanced gastric cancer in the lower third of the stomach. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical records of 430 patients with advanced gastric cancer in the lower third of the stomach who underwent distal subtotal gastrectomy and D2 lymphadenectomy in our hospital from January 1998 to June 2004. Receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to determine the appropriate cutoff value for tumor size, which was measured as maximum tumor diameter. Based on this cutoff value, patients were divided into two groups: those with large-sized tumors (LSTs) and those with small-sized tumors (SSTs). The correlations between other clinicopathologic factors and tumor size were investigated, and the 5-year overall survival (OS) rate was compared between the two groups. Potential prognostic factors were evaluated by univariate KaplanMeier survival analysis and multivariate Cox's propor-tional hazard model analysis. The 5-year OS rates in the two groups were compared according to pT stage and pN stage. RESULTS: The 5-year OS rate in the 430 patients with advanced gastric cancer in the lower third of the stomach was 53.7%. The mean ± SD tumor size was 4.9 ± 1.9 cm, and the median tumor size was 5.0 cm. ROC analysis indicated that the sensitivity and specificity results for the appropriate tumor size cutoff value of 4.8 cm were 80.0% and 68.2%, respectively (AUC=0.795, 95%CI: 0.751-0.839, P=0.000). Using this cutoff value, 222 patients (51.6%) had LSTs (tumor size ≥ 4.8 cm) and 208 (48.4%) had SSTs (tumor size<4.8 cm). Tumor size was significantly correlated with histological type (P=0.039), Borrmann type (P=0.000), depth of tumor invasion (P=0.000), lymph node metastasis (P=0.000), tumor-nodes metastasis stage (P=0.000), mean number of metastatic lymph nodes (P=0.000) and metastatic lymph node ratio (P=0.000). Patients with LSTs had a significantly lower 5-year OS rate than those with SSTs (37.1% vs 63.3%, P=0.000). Univariate analysis showed that depth of tumor invasion (c 2=69.581, P=0.000), lymph node metastasis (c 2=138.815, P=0.000), tumor size (c 2=78.184, P=0.000) and metastatic lymph node ratio (c 2=139.034, P=0.000) were significantly associated with 5-year OS rate. Multivariate analysis revealed that depth of tumor invasion (P=0.000), lymph node metastasis (P=0.019) and tumor size (P=0.000) were independent prognostic factors. Gastric cancers were divided into 12 subgroups: pT2N0; pT2N1; pT2N2; pT2N3; pT3N0; pT3N1; pT3N2; pT3N3; pT4aN0; pT4aN1; pT4aN2; and pT4aN3. In patients with pT2-3N3 stage tumors and patients with pT4a stage tumors, 5-year OS rates were significantly lower for LSTs than for SSTs (P<0.05 each), but there were no significant differences in the 5-year OS rates in LST and SST patients with pT23N0-2 stage tumors (P > 0.05). 7CROSS LAYER COORDINATED ENERGY SAVING STRATEGY IN MANET显示文摘Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) consists of a set of mobile hosts which can operate independently without infrastructure base stations. Energy saving is a critical issue for MANET since most mobile hosts will operate on battery powers. A cross layer coordinated framework for energy saving is proposed in this letter. 8The Mitochondrial DNA Mutation at Position 11778 in Chinese Families with Leber's Hereditary Optic Neuropathy显示文摘We amplified the 340 bp of mitochondrial DMA (mtDNA) by PCR including the recognized sequence of restriction enzyme of SfaN I . After amplification and digestion of SfaN I , two bands of 190 bp and 150 bp appeared in the mtDNA of four normal individuals but only one band of 340 bp appeared in the mtDNA with the mutation of G to A at the site of the nucleotide 11778 because such mutation destroyed the recognized sequence of SfaN I . 9Precipitation transformation of rare earth sulfate into chloride with p-dodecylphenoxy carboxylic acids显示文摘Methods for transforming rare earth(RE)sulfate into chloride mainly include extraction process with organophosphonic mono-acids or aliphatic acids and precipitation process with ammonium bicarbonate(NH4 HCO3).In this paper,alkylphenoxy carboxylic acids(HAs)ofp-dodecylphenoxy acetic acid(HA-Ⅰ),pdodecylphenoxypropanoic acid(HA-Ⅱ)and p-dodecylphenoxybutyric acid(HA-Ⅲ),which were liquid at room temperature were synthesized and characterized.The precipitation mechanisms of RE elements with the HAs were investigated and the HA/RE molar ratios of the solid complexes were determined as3:1 by equi-molar series method which accord with the principle of charge balance.Applicability of HAs for the transformation of RE sulfate from concentrated sulfuric acid roasted RE concentrate into chloride via precipitation method was discussed.100%HA-Ⅱwas selected as the liquid organic precipitant without dilution of volatile solvent soracceleration of phase separation by phase-modifiers.The RE sulfate solution can be precipitated by HA-Ⅱafter neutralization with liquid NaOH and stripped with concentrated HCl at room temperature.High concentration of RE chloride of 218.1 g/L with low residue of sulfate radical of 0.536 g/L was obtained.The residual organic precipitant in the raffinate solution was tested to be lower than 8 mg/L at 25℃and the chemical oxygen demand(COD)in wastewater was less than 50 mg/L.Yanliang Wang Jia Su Xiangguang Guo Jianguo Cui Yan Bai Fujian Li Xiaoqi Sun 2019Journal of Rare Earths2019,37,12:5
10Human remains and the environment of Early Pleistocene in the Nihewan Basin显示文摘A new Early Pleistocene Paleolithic site was found in July 2001 in the Nihewan Ba-sin, Hebei Province. Totally 500 mammal specimens assigned to 21 species and 5 lithic artifacts were collected. The coexistence of Allophaiomys deucalion, Borsodia chinensis and Yangia tingi provides important evidence of chronology. On the basis of the comparison of mammalian fauna, the date of Paleolithic artifacts is probably earlier than 1.8 MaBP, possibly 2.0 MaBP. This is the earliest evidence of hominid activity found so far in North China. The hominid at that time in the Nihewan Basin lived in an environment of arid grasslands with scattered trees of temperate zone. 11Preparation of high-purity neodymium chloride by solvent extraction in the mixer-settlers: A pilot-scale investigation显示文摘A novel purification process based on mixer-settlers for high-purity NdCl_3 was developed. Acidic solution and pure NdCl_3 solution were compared to scrub the less-extractable rare earths(REs)(La, Ce, and Pr)from loaded organic phase. The extractant with low-degree saponification was evaluated to remove the more-extractable element(Sm). Then the RE impurities(La, Ce, Pr, and Sm) in Nd were purified by an integrated process. Furthermore, effect of smuggling behavior on the purification of NdCl_3 in mixersettlers was studied. 12Chemical induction of settlement and metamorphosis in two Babylonia (Gastropoda) larvae显示文摘By exposure to 12 x 10 3 mol/dm3 K+ for 24 h, more than 90% of planktonic larvae of Babylonia formosae and B. areolata were effectively induced to metamorphose completely. 15 x 10 - 3 mol/dm3 K+ exerted toxic effect on larval B. areolata over a 24-h period, but produced better results of induction by 12 h exposure. Metamorphosed juveniles induced by increased by K’ could move and feed normally. Percent metamorphosis increased with average shell height for K + -induced larvae. L-DOPA, epinephrine and norepinephrine ranging from 5. 5 x 10 -- 6 to 5. 5 x 10 - 5 mol/dm3 had no inductive activity to metamorphosis in larval B. areolata, whereas the rate of metamorphosis induced by dopamine at a concentration of 10--4 mol/dm3 was approximately half less than that by 12 x 10 3 mol/dm3 K+. TEA (a K+ -channel blocker) did not inhibit metamorphosis in the two Babylonia larvae by induction of K+. Based on the results of K+ -induced experiments, it is preliminarily suggested that shell height of larvae achieving metamorphic competence was in the range of 860. 2 - 1 009. 8μm for B. formosae, and 849. 6- 956. 0 um for B. areolata. 15Ab Initio Calculations of the Electronic Structures of Copper Pyrites CuS2, CuSe2 and CuTe2显示文摘The electronic structures of CuS2, CuSe2 and CuTe2 with pyrite structures, within the framework the density-functional theory have been investigated. 17Understanding the defect chemistry of oxide nanoparticles for creating new functionalities:A critical review显示文摘This work presents a critical review on the studies of defect chemistry of oxide nanoparticles for creating new functionalities pertinent to energy applications including dilute-magnetic semiconductors,giant-dielectrics,or white light generation.Emphasis is placed on the relationships between the internal structure and defective surfaces of oxide nanoparticles and their synergy in tailoring the materials properties.This review is arranged in a sequence:(1) structural fundamentals of bulk oxides,using TiO2 as a model simple oxide to highlight the importance of polymorphs in tuning the electronic structures;(2) structural features of simple oxide nanoparticles distinct from the bulk,which show that nanoparticles can be considered as a special solid under the compression as originated from the surface defect dipole-dipole interactions;and(3) new functions achieved through extending the defect chemistry concept to the assembled architectures or multi-component oxide nanoparticles,in which defect surfaces enable the localized electrons or intermediate levels to produce giant dielectric performance or tunable light generation.It is concluded that understandings of defect chemistry provide diverse possibilities to manipulate electrons in oxide nanoparticles for functionalities in energy-relevant applications.LI GuangShe,LI LiPing & ZHENG Jing State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Fuzhou 350002,China 2011Science China Chemistry2011,54,6:3

19Photocatalytic intercalated material based on HLaNb_2O_7 as host and Cd_(0.8)Zn_(0.2)S as guest显示文摘A novel photocatalytic material (Pt,Cd0.8Zn0.2S)/HLaNb2O7 was fabricated by successive intercalation and exchange reactions. The (Pt,Cd0.8Zn0.2S)/HLaNb2O7 possessed a gallery height less than 0.5 nm and showed a broad absorption with wavelength over 370―500 nm. Using (Pt,Cd0.8Zn0.2S)/HLaNb2O7 as catalyst, the photocatalytic H2 evolution was more than 160 cm3·h-1·g-1 in the presence of Na2S as a sacrificial agent under irradiation with wavelength more than 290 nm from a 100-W mercury lamp. 20Theoretical study on tetranuclear boron clusters: B4X4 (X = H, F, Cl, Br, I)显示文摘The molecular orbitals for B4H4, B4F4, B4Cl4, B4Br4 and B4I4 have been calculated by using all-electron or effective core potential ab initio method at the self-consistent field level using basis sets with diffuse and polarization functions. The boron-boron and boron-halide (-hydrogen) distances of these cage compounds are optimized with three kinds of basis sets constrained to a tetrahedral symmetry. According to the localization scheme of Boys, four three-centered two-electron (3c2e) B-B-B bonds localized on each of the faces of the B4 tetrahedron are derived for B4X4 clusters.
