1New Vegetation Index and Its Application in Estimating Leaf Area Index of Rice显示文摘Leaf area index (LAI) is an important characteristic of land surface vegetation system, and is also a key parameter for the models of global water balancing and carbon circulation. By using the reflectance values of Landsat-5 blue, green and red channels simulated from rice reflectance spectrum, the sensitivities of the bands to LAI were analyzed, and the response and capability to estimate LAI of various NDVIs (normalized difference vegetation indices), which were established by substituting the red band of general NDVI with all possible combinations of red, green and blue bands, were assessed. Finally, the conclusion was tested by rice data at different conditions. The sensitivities of red, green and blue bands to LAI were different under various conditions. When LAI was less than 3, red and blue bands were more sensitive to LAI. Though green band in the circumstances was less sensitive to LAI than red and blue bands, it was sensitive to LAI in a wider range. When the vegetation indices were constituted by all kinds of combinations of red, green and blue bands, the premise for making the sensitivity of these vegetation indices to LAI be meaningful was that the value of one of the combinations was greater than 0.024, i.e. visible reflectance (VIS)>0.024. Otherwise, the vegetation indices would be saturated, resulting in lower estimation accuracy of LAI. Comparison on the capabilities of the vegetation indices derived from all kinds of combinations of red, green and blue bands to LAI estimation showed that GNDVI (Green NDVI) and GBNDVI (Green-Blue NDVI) had the best relations with LAI. The capabilities of GNDVI and GBNDVI to LAI estimation were tested under different circumstances, and the same result was acquired. 2Identification and Fine Mapping of a Gene Related to Pale Green Leaf Phenotype near the Centromere Region in Rice(Oryza sativa)显示文摘A thermo-insensitive pale green leaf mutant (pgl2) was isolated from T-DNA inserted transgenic lines of rice (Oryza sativa L. subsp. japonica cv. Nipponbare). Genetic analysis indicated that the phenotype was caused by a recessive mutation in a single nuclear-encoded gene. To map the PGL2 gene, an F2 population was constructed by crossing the mutant with Longtefu (Oryza sativa L. subsp. indica). The PGL2 locus was roughly linked to SSR marker RM331 on chromosome 8. To finely map the gene, 14 new InDel markers were developed around the marker, and PGL2 was further mapped to a 2.37 Mb centromeric region. Analysis on chlorophyll contents of leaves showed that there was no obvious difference between the mutant and the wild type in total chlorophyll (Chl) content, while the ratio of Chl a / Chl b in the mutant was only about 1, which was distinctly lower than that in the wild type, suggesting that the PGL2 gene was related to the conversion between Chl a and Chl b. 3Parasympathetic neurogenesis is strongly associated with tumor budding and correlates with an adverse prognosis in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma显示文摘Objective: To investigate the frequency of parasympathetic neurogenesis and determine its association with tumor budding and prognosis in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC).Methods: Parasympathetic neurogenesis was defined as the distribution of abnormal parasympathetic nerves in the stroma tissue. Staining of vesicular acetylcholine transporter(VACh T), as a marker for parasympathetic neurogenesis, was performed on a representative specimen of the tumor for 59 PDAC patients with available clinical, pathologic, and follow-up information. Three specimens containing normal pancreatic tissues were stained in parallel. The number of parasympathetic nerve fibers was counted in five high-power microscopic fields(5×0.785 mm^2). Cut-off values were calculated by receiver operating characteristic curve analysis.Results: VACh T-positive parasympathetic nerve fibers were not seen in the stroma of 3 cases of normal pancreatic tissues. In 59 PDAC cases, the range of parasympathetic neurogenesis was 4-38 fibers/(5×0.785) mm^2, with a median of 18 fibers/(5×0.785) mm^2. Patients with parasympathetic neurogenesis >15 fibers/(5×0.785) mm^2 were defined as the high-density group(39 patients, 66.1%), and those with parasympathetic neurogenesis ≤15 fibers/(5×0.785) mm^2 as the low-density group(20 patients, 33.9%). The high-density group had a higher occurrence of tumor budding(P=0.001) and a higher rate of early recurrence(P=0.035). 7Precursors and potential sources of ground-level ozone in suburban Shanghai显示文摘A high level of ozone(O3)is frequently observed in the suburbs of Shanghai,the reason for this high levei remains unclear.To obtain a detailed insight on the high level of 03 during summer in Shanghai,03 and its precursors were measured at a suburban site in Shanghai from July 1;2016 to July 31,2016.Using the Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory,(HYSPLIT)model and concentration weighted trajectories(CW T),we found that Zhejiang province was the main potential source.of 03 in suburban Shanghai.When the sampling site was cotrolled by south-westerm winds exceeding 2 m/s,the O3-rich air masses from upwind regions(such as Zhejiang province)could be transported to the.suburban Shanghai.The propylene-equivalent concentation(PEC)and ozone formation potential(OFP)were,further calculated for each vOC species,and the resuts suggested that propylene,(m+p)-xylene,and.toluene played dominant roles in O3 formation.The Ozone Isopleth Plotting Research(OZIPR)model was used to reveal the impact ofO;precursors on O3 formation,and 4 base-cases were.selected to adjust the model simulaton.An average disparity.of 18.20%was achieved between the simulated and observed 03 concentrations.The 03 isopleth diagram ilustrated that 03 fomatin in July 2016 was in VOC-senstive regime,although the VOCNO,ratio was greater than 20.By intoducing sensitivity(S),a sensitvity analysis was performed for 03 formaton.We found.that 03 formation was senstive to propylene,(m+p)-xylene,e,o-xylene and toluene.The results provide theoretical suppot for 0;plluton treatment in Shanghai.Kun Zhang Jialuo Xu Qing Huang Lei Zhou Qingyan Fu Yusen Duan Guangli Xiu 2020Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2020,14,6:4
8The Survey of Cronobacter spp.(formerly Enterbacter sakazakii) in Infant and Follow-up Powdered Formula in China in 2012显示文摘Objective To determine Cronobacter spp.contamination in infant and follow-up powdered formula in China.Methods All of 2282 samples were collected from the retail markets in China from January 2012 to December 2012,and analyzed for Cronobacter spp.by the Chinese National Food Safety Standard.Characterization of the isolates was analyzed by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis(PFGE)with XbaI and Spe I restriction enzymes.Results Cronobacter spp.strains were isolated from 25 samples,and the positive rates in infant powdered formulas and follow-up powdered formulas were 0.90%(10/1011)and 1.18%(15/1271),respectively.Analysis of variable data regarding different purchasing store formats,seasonality,and production locations as well as comparison of infant versus follow-up formulas did not reveal statistically significant factors.During the sampling period,one of six surveillance zones did exhibit a statistically significant trend towards higher positive rate.PFGE characterization of Cronobacter spp.to elucidate genetic diversity revealed only three pairs of Cronobacter spp.out of 25 having the same PFGE patterns.Conclusion The current investigation indicated a lower positive rate of Cronobacter spp.in the powdered formula in China.This evidence suggested contamination originating from multiple different sources during the manufacturing process.PEI Xiao Yan YAN Lin ZHU Jiang Hui LI Ning GUO Yun Chang FU Ping JIA Hua Yun ZHANG Xiu Li YANG Xiao Rong YANG Da Jin 2016Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2016,29,2:4
9Optimal Waist Circumference Cut-off values for Identifying Metabolic Risk Factors in Middle-aged and Elderly Subjects in Shandong Province of China显示文摘Objective To study the optimal waist circumference(WC) cut-off values for identifying metabolic risk factors in middle-aged and elderly subjects in Shandong Province of China. Methods A total of 2 873 men and 5 559 women were included in this cross-sectional study. Metabolic syndrome(MetS) was diagnosed according to the definition of Chinese Diabetes Society in 2004. The relation between WC and MetS was analyzed by multivariate logistic regression analysis. The optimal WC cut-off values were identified using the area under the ROC curve and the different diagnostic criteria for central obesity were compared. Results The WC was the risk factor for MetS independent of BMI, blood glucose, blood lipid, and blood pressure. The optimal WC cut-off value was 83.8 cm and 91.1 cm for identifying MetS in women and men, respectively. Compared with 80 cm and 85 cm for women and men, 85 cm and 90 cm had a higher Youden index for identifying all metabolic risk factors and MetS in women and men. 11Comprehensive and high-resolution emission inventory of atmospheric pollutants for the northernmost cities agglomeration of Harbin-Changchun,China:Implications for local atmospheric environment management显示文摘Using a bottom-up estimation method,a comprehensive,high-resolution emission inventory of gaseous and particulate atmospheric pollutants for multiple anthropogenic sectors with typical local sources has been developed for the Harbin-Changchun city agglomeration(HCA).The annual emissions for CO,NO_(x),SO_(2),NH_(3),VOC S,PM_(2.5),PM 10,BC and OC during 2017 in the HCA were estimated to be 5.82 Tg,0.70 Tg,0.34 Tg,0.75 Tg,0.81 Tg,0.67 Tg,1.59 Tg,0.12 Tg and 0.26 Tg,respectively.For PM 10 and SO_(2),the emissions from industry processes were the dominant contributors representing 54.7%and 49.5%,respectively,of the total emissions,while 95.3%and 44.5%of the total NH_(3)and NO x emissions,respectively,were from or associated with agricultural activities and transportation.Spatiotemporal distributions showed that most emissions(except NH_(3))occurred in November to March and were concentrated in the central cities of Changchun and Harbin and the surrounding cities.Open burning of straw made an important contribution to PM_(2.5)in the central regions of the northeastern plain during autumn and spring,while domestic coal combustion for heating purposes was significant with respect to SO_(2)and PM_(2.5)emissions during autumn and winter.Furthermore,based on Principal Component Analysis and Multivariable Linear Regression model,air temperature,relative humidity,electricity and energy consumption,and the urban and rural population were optimized to be representative indicators for rapidly assessing the magnitude of regional atmospheric pollutants in the HCA.Such indicators and equations were demonstrated to be useful for local atmospheric environment management.Mengduo Zhang Weiwei Chen Xiangjin Shen Hongmei Zhao Chengkang Gao Xuelei Zhang Wei Liu Chengjiang Yang Yang Qin Shichun Zhang Jing Fu Daniel Tong Aijun Xiu 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,6:3
12Improving Impact Toughness of Polylactide/Ethylene-co-vinyl-acetate Blends via Adding Fumed Silica Nanoparticles:Effects of Specific Surface Area-dependent Interfacial Selective Distribution of Silica显示文摘Adding fumed silica(Si0_(2))has been considered as an effective method for tailoring the phase morphology and performance of elastomer-toughened plastic binary blends.It has been demonstrated that the selective distribution of SiO_(2) plays a decisive role in the mechanical properties of plastic/elastomer/SiO_(2)nanocomposites,especially for the impact toughness.In this work,we aim to illuminate the role of specific surface area in controlling their selective distribution of fumed SiO_(2) and consequent mechanical properties of plastic/elastomer binary blends.Three types of SiO_(2) with different specific surface areas were incorporated into polylactide/ethylene-co-vinyl-acetate(PLA/EVA)model blends by melt blending directly.It was found that the selective distribution of SiO_(2) is largely determined by their specific surface areas,i.e.SiO_(2) nanoparticles with low specific surface area has a stronger tendency to be located at the interface between PLA matrix and EVA dispersed phase as compared to those with high specific surface area.The specific surface area-dependent interfacial selective distribution of SiO_(2) is mainly attributed to the extent of increased viscosity of EVA dispersed phase in which SiO_(2)nanoparticles are initially dispersed and resultant migration rate of SiO_(2) nanoparticles.The interfacial localized SiO_(2) nanoparticles induce an obvious enhancement in the impact toughness with strength and modulus well maintained.More importantly,in the case of the same interfacial distribution,toughening efficiency is increased with the specific surface area of SiO_(2).Therefore,this is an optimum specific surface area of SiO_(2) for the toughening.This work not only provides a novel way to manipulate the selective distribution of SiO_(2) in elastomer-toughened plastic blends toward high-performance,but also gives a deep insight into the role of interfacial localized nanoparticles in the toughening mechanism.Ting-Ting Zhang Mei-Xi Zhou Zhen-You Guo You-Bo Zhao Di Han Hao Xiu Hong-Wei Bai Qin Zhang Qiang Fu 2021Chinese Journal of Polymer Science2021,39,8:2

16Spatio-temporal Evolution on Geographic Boundaries of HFRS Endemic Areas in Shandong Province, China显示文摘Objective To take effective strategies and measures for the prevention and control of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome(HFRS) endemic areas by investigating its dynamic geographical boundaries in Shandong Province, China. Methods The incidence of HFRS from 1982 to 2008 in Shandong Prvince, China, was detected with inverse distance weighting(IDW) interpolation based on geographical information system(GIS). Dynamic geographical boundaries of HFRS endemic areas in Shandong Province, China, were analyzed by geographical boundary analysis. Results The HTN-type endemic areas of HFRS were located in Linyi City in phase 1(1982-1986), the SEO-type endemic areas of HFRS were located in Jining City in phase 2(1987-2003), and the endemic areas of HFRS in Jining City gradually disappeared and the endemic areas of HFRS with mixed-types of reservoir rodents were located in Linyi City in phase 3(2004-2008). Meanwhile, new endemic areas emerged in the northwestern Shandong province, China.
