| 2 | MicroRNA changes of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells differentiated into neuronal-like cells by Schwann cell-conditioned medium显示文摘Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells differentiate into neurons under the induction of Schwann cells. However, key microRNAs and related pathways for differentiation remain unclear. This study screened and identified differentially expressed microRNAs in bone marrow- derived mesenchymal stem cells induced by Schwann cell-conditioned medium, and explored targets and related pathways involved in their differentiation into neuronal-like cells. Primary bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells were isolated from femoral and tibial bones, while primary Schwann cells were isolated from bilateral saphenous nerves. Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells were cultured in unconditioned (control group) and Schwann cell-conditioned medium (bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cell + Schwann cell group). Neuronal differentiation of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells induced by Schwann cell-conditioned medium was observed by time-lapse imaging. Upon induction, the morphology of bone marrow-derived mesencaymal stem cells changed into a neural shape with neurites. Results of quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction revealed that nestin mRNA expression was upregulated from 1 to 3 days and downregulated from 3 to 7 days in the bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cell + Schwann cell group. Compared with the control group, microtubule-associated protein 2 mRNA expression gradually increased from 1 to 7 days in the bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cell + Schwann cell group. After 7 days of induction, microRNA analysis iden:ified 83 significantly differentially expressed microRNAs between the two groups. Gene Ontology analysis indicated enrichment of microRNA target genes for neuronal projection development, regulation of axonogenesis, and positive regulation of cell proliferation. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway analysis demonstrated that Hippo, Wnt, transforming growth factor-beta, and Hedgehog signaling pathv/ays were potentially associated with neural differentiation of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells. This study, which carried out successful microRNA analysis of neuronal-like cells differentiated from bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells by Schwann cell induction, revealed key microRNAs and pathways involved in neural differentiation of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells. | 4 | Fast Marching Method for Microseismic Source Location in Cavern-Containing Rockmass: Performance Analysis and Engineering Application显示文摘Microseismic(MS)event locations are vital aspect of MS monitoring technology used to delineate the damage zone inside the surrounding rock mass.However,complex geological conditions can impose significantly adverse effects on the final location results.To achieve a high-accuracy location in a complex cavern-containing structure,this study develops an MS location method using the fast marching method(FMM)with a second-order difference approach(FMM2).Based on the established velocity model with three-dimensional(3D)discrete grids,the realization of the MS location can be achieved by searching the minimum residual between the theoretical and actual first arrival times.Moreover,based on the calculation results of FMM2,the propagation paths from the MS sources to MS sensors can be obtained using the linear interpolation approach and the Runge–Kutta method.These methods were validated through a series of numerical experiments.In addition,our proposed method was applied to locate the recorded blasting and MS events that occurred during the excavation period of the underground caverns at the Houziyan hydropower station.The location results of the blasting activities show that our method can effectively reduce the location error compared with the results based on the uniform velocity model.Furthermore,the obtained MS location was verified through the occurrence of shotcrete fractures and spalling,and the monitoring results of the in-situ multipoint extensometer.Our proposed method can offer a more accurate rock fracture location and facilitate the delineation of damage zones inside the surrounding rock mass. | Ruochen Jiang Feng Dai Yi Liu Ang Li | 2021 | Engineering2021,7,7: | 10 |

| 7 | Infection recurrence following minimally invasive treatment in patients with infectious pancreatic necrosis显示文摘BACKGROUND In recent decades,an increasing number of patients have received minimally invasive intervention for infected pancreatic necrosis(IPN)because of the benefits in reducing postoperative multiple organ failure and mortality.However,there are limited published data regarding infection recurrence after treatment of this patient population.AIM To investigate the incidence and prediction of infection recurrence following successful minimally invasive treatment in IPN patients.METHODS Medical records for 193 IPN patients,who underwent minimally invasive treatment between February 2014 and October 2018,were retrospectively reviewed.Patients,who survived after the treatment,were divided into two groups:one group with infection after drainage catheter removal and another group without infection.The morphological and clinical data were compared between the two groups.Significantly different variables were introduced into the correlation and multivariate logistic analysis to identify independent predictors for infection recurrence.Sensitivity and specificity for diagnostic performance were determined.RESULTS Of the 193 IPN patients,178 were recruited into the study.Of them,9(5.06%)patients died and 169 patients survived but infection recurred in 13 of 178 patients(7.30%)at 7(4-10)d after drainage catheters were removed.White blood cell(WBC)count,serum C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-6,and procalcitonin levels measured at the time of catheter removal were significantly higher in patients with infection than in those without(all P<0.05).In addition,drainage duration and length of the catheter measured by computerized tomography scan were significantly longer in patients with infection(P=0.025 and P<0.0001,respectively).Although these parameters all correlated positively with the incidence of infection(all P<0.05),only WBC,CRP,procalcitonin levels,and catheter length were identified as independent predictors for infection recurrence.The sensitivity and specificity for infection prediction were high in WBC count(≥9.95×109/L)and serum procalcitonin level(≥0.05 ng/mL)but moderate in serum CRP level(cut-off point≥7.37 mg/L).The catheter length(cut-off value≥8.05 cm)had a high sensitivity but low specificity to predict the infection recurrence.CONCLUSION WBC count,serum procalcitonin,and CRP levels may be valuable for predicting infection recurrence following minimally invasive intervention in IPN patients.These biomarkers should be considered before removing the drainage catheters. | Chong-Chong Gao Jia Li Feng Cao Xiao-Hui Wang Ang Li Zhe Wang Fei Li | 2020 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,22: | 5 |
| 8 | Clinical information and management status of de novo stage IV breast cancer patients: a Chinese multicenter investigation (CSBrS-002)显示文摘Background:Although de novo stage IV breast cancer is so far incurable,it has entered an era of individualized treatment and chronic disease management.Based on systemic treatment,whether the surgical resection of primary or metastatic foci of de novo stage IV breast cancer can bring survival benefits is currently controversial.We aimed to explore the clinicopathological factors and current status of the management of de novo stage IV breast cancer in China to provide a reference for clinical decisions.Methods:Based on the assistance of Chinese Society of Breast Surgery,a retrospective study was conducted to analyze the clinical data of patients with de novo stage IV breast cancer in 33 centers from January 2017 to December 2018.The relationship between basic characteristic(age,menstrual status,family history,reproductive history,pathological type,estrogen receptor[ER]status,progesterone receptor[PR]status,human epidermal growth factor receptor 2[HER2]status,Ki-67 percentage,and molecular subtype),and metastasis sites(lung metastasis,liver metastasis,and bone metastasis)was examined by Pearson Chi-square tests.Results:A total of 468 patients with de novo stage IV breast cancer were enrolled.The median age of the enrolled patients was 51.5 years.The most common pathological type of primary lesion was invasive carcinoma(97.1%).Luminal A,luminal B,HER2 overexpressing,and triple-negative subtypes accounted for 14.3%,51.8%,22.1%,and 11.8% of all cases,respectively.Age,PR status,and HER2 status were correlated with lung metastasis(χ^(2)=6.576,4.117,and 8.643 and P=0.037,0.043,and 0.003,respectively).Pathological type,ER status,PR status,and molecular subtype were correlated with bone metastasis(χ^(2)=5.117,37.511,5.224,and 11.603 and P=0.024,<0.001,0.022,and 0.009,respectively).Age,PR status,HER2 status,Ki-67 percentage,and molecular subtype were correlated with liver metastasis(χ^(2)=11.153,13.378,10.692,21.206,and 17.684 and P=0.004,<0.001,0.001,<0.001,and 0.001,respectively).Combined treatment with paclitaxel and anthracycline was the most common first-line chemotherapy regimen for patients with de novo stage IV breast cancer(51.7%).Overall,91.5% of patients used paclitaxel-containing regimens.Moreover,59.3% of hormone receptor-positive patients underwent endocrine therapy.Conclusions:In 2018,1.07% of patients from all studied centers were diagnosed with de novo stage IV breast cancer.This study indicated that 95.1% of patients received systemic therapy and 54.2% of patients underwent surgical removal of the primary lesion in China. | Ang Zheng Bao-Liang Guo Jian-Guo Zhang Feng Jin Chinese Society of Breast Surgery | 2021 | Chinese Medical Journal2021,,13: | 5 |
| 9 | Periodically poled lithium niobate whispering gallery mode microcavities on a chip显示文摘In this study, we investigate the fabrication of periodically poled lithium niobate(PPLN) microdisk cavities on a chip. These resonators are fabricated from a PPLN film with a 16 μm poling period on insulator using conventional microfabrication techniques.The quality factor of the PPLN microdisk resonators with a 40-μm radius and a 700-nm thickness is 6.7×10~5. Second harmonic generation(SHG) with an efficiency of 2.2×10^(-6) mW(-1) is demonstrated in the fabricated PPLN microdisks. | 10 | Adding memory to pressure-sensitive phosphors显示文摘Mechanoluminescence(ML)is the phenomenon describing the emission of light during mechanical action on a solid,leading to applications such as pressure sensing,damage detection and visualization of stress distributions.In most cases,this mechanical action releases energy that was previously stored in the crystal lattice of the phosphor by means of trapped charge carriers.A drawback is the need to record the ML emission during a pressure event.In this work,we provide a method for adding a memory function to these pressure-sensitive phosphors,allowing an optical readout of the location and intensity of a pressure event in excess of 72 h after the event.This is achieved in the BaSi_(2)O_(2)N_(2):Eu^(2+) phosphor,where a broad trap depth distribution essential for the process is present.By merging optically stimulated luminescence(OSL),thermoluminescence(TL)and ML measurements,the influence of light,heat and pressure on the trap depth distribution is carefully analysed.This analysis demonstrates that mechanical action can not only lead to direct light emission but also to a reshuffling of trap occupations.This memory effect not only is expected to lead to new pressure sensing applications but also offers an approach to study charge carrier transitions in energy storage phosphors. | Robin R.Petit Simon E.Michels Ang Feng Philippe F.Smet | 2019 | Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1: | 5 |
| 11 | Distinct Contributions of Replication and Transcription to Mutation Rate Variation of Human Genomes显示文摘Here, we evaluate the contribution of two major biological processes-DNA replication and transcription-to mutation rate variation in human genomes. Based on analysis of the public human tissue transcriptomics data, high-resolution replicating map of Hela cells and dbSNP data, we present significant correlations between expres-sion breadth, replication time in local regions and SNP density. SNP density of tissue-specific (TS) genes is sig-nificantly higher than that of housekeeping (HK) genes. TS genes tend to locate in late-replicating genomic re-gions and genes in such regions have a higher SNP density compared to those in early-replication regions. In addi-tion, SNP density is found to be positively correlated with expression level among HK genes. We conclude that the process of DNA replication generates stronger mutational pressure than transcription-associated biological processes do, resulting in an increase of mutation rate in TS genes while having weaker effects on HK genes. | 14 | A Dose-response Meta-analysis of Egg Intake and Breast Cancer Risk显示文摘Aim Eggs are one of the most nutritious foods in nature,but there is no unified conclusion about the association between egg intake and breast cancer risk.Methods The PubMed and Web of Science databases for the literature on egg intake and breast cancer risk were searched for papers published during the last 10 years.These were then filtered according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Stata16.0 software was applied to perform a meta-analysis,the generalized least squares method and constrained cubic spline model were used to assess the dose-response trends between egg intake and breast cancer risk.Results A total of 9 articles were included:6 case control studies and 3 cohort studies.The Newcastle-Ottawa scale(NOS)values of the included articles were all≥6 points.The pooled relative risks(RR)of egg intake and breast cancer risk was 0.91(95%CI:0.69-1.19).The dose-response analysis showed a linear trend for egg intake and breast cancer risk(P=0.689).With every 10 g/day increase in egg intake,the incidence of breast cancer increased by 2%(RR=1.02,95%CI:0.99-1.05).However,these results were not statistically significant.Conclusion This meta-analysis found no significant association between egg intake and breast cancer. | Peng Wei Ma Fei Fei Feng Zi Ang Shi Ke Di Xu Yuan Lin Zou Yan Li Wang Si Qi Ning Chun Hua Song | 2021 | Journal of Nutritional Oncology2021,6,2: | 3 |

| 16 | Cyclic-delay time-reversal space-time block codes for single-carrier transmission with frequency-domain decision-feedback equalization显示文摘Transmit diversity is an important multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) approach to improve the transmission reliability;however,it is usually designed with maximum-likelihood detection.In this paper,we investigate a simple transceiver structure for single-carrier MIMO systems,in which the cyclic-delay time-reversal space-time block code (CDTR-STBC) is employed at the transmitter,and the frequency-domain decision-feedback equalization (FD-DFE) is used at the receiver.We separate the transmit antennas into two groups,and then,encode the groups by STBC and cyclically delay the data streams within each group.Such processing can mitigate the impact of error-propagation and reduce the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) loss when FD-DFE is employed,in which SNR is defined as the ratio of the received signal power over the noise power at each receive antenna.To support our proposal,this paper also provides the performance analysis of FD-DFE.It is shown that the proposed scheme can achieve full diversity and full transmission rate for a MIMO system employing arbitrary antennas.Therefore,it has considerable performance improvement over the existing schemes. | FENG Ang YIN QinYe WANG HuiMing | 2011 | Science China(Information Sciences)2011,54,9: | 2 |
