1ETME,a novel β-elemene derivative,synergizes with arsenic trioxide in inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in hepatocarcinoma cells via a p53-dependent pathway显示文摘Arsenic trioxide(ATO)has been identified as an effective treatment for acute promyelocytic leukemia(APL)but is much less effective against solid tumors such as hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).In the search for ways to enhance its therapeutic efficacy against solid tumors,we have examined its use in combination with a novel derivative ofβ-elemene,N-(β-elemene-13-yl)tryptophan methyl ester(ETME).Here we report the effects of the combination on cell viability,apoptosis,the cell cycle and mitochondria membrane potential(MMP)in HCC SMMC-7721 cells.We found that the two compounds acted synergistically to enhance antiproliferative activity and apoptosis.The combination also decreased the MMP,down-regulated Bcl-2 and pro-proteins of the caspase family,and up-regulated Bax and BID,all of which were reversed by the p53 inhibitor,pifithrin-α.In addition,the combination induced cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase and reduced tumor volume and weight in an xenograft model of nude mice.Overall,the results suggest that ETME in combination with ATO may be useful in the treatment of HCC patients particularly those unresponsive to ATO alone.Zhiying Yu Fangling Wu Liang Chen Qian Li Chaojie Wang Jinhua Dong Song-qiang Xie 2014Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2014,4,6:7

3Ecological Environment Conservation and Restoration and Sustainable Development of Minqin Oasis显示文摘Minqin oasis in the lower reaches of the Shiyang River is a main natural barrier for the Wuwei Basin. Due to the combined influence of human activities and natural factors in the past half a century, water quality in the lower reaches of the Shiyang River decreased and ecological environment deteriorated, which influenced sustainable development of this area and surrounding area seriously. This paper analyzed current situation and reasons of the deteriorated ecological environment in the lower reaches of the Shiyang River, and proposed that water environment regulation was the primary task in the eco-environment control of Minqin area, specifically,(a) By using existing policies, accelerating the construction of water-saving agriculture in the middle reaches of the Shiyang River, water quantity in the lower reaches would be guanranted, water shortage for agricultural production and ecological use in Minqin oasis would be relieved;(b) Unreasonable human activities such as overexploitation of underground water should be controlled strictly;(c) Water conservancy project should be developed vigorously to ensure rate of flow. 4Study and Implementation of a New SQL-Based ETL Approach显示文摘This paper analyzes the main characteristics,benefits,and disadvantages of existing traditional ETL(extraction,trans-formation,loading) methods,and summaries some factors affect-ing the performance of ETL tools. Then,a new ETL approach,E-LT(extraction,loading and transformation) ,is proposed. The E-LT approach applies database mapping technique to realize that loading stage and transformation stage in the ETL process are performed at the same time after the extraction stage. Thus,it can use SQL commands to complete loading and transformation proc-essing,and eliminates the staging area before loading in traditional ETL process. The framework of an ETL engine based on E-LT method is presented. The ETL process including initial loading and incremental refreshment is discussed in detail,and the SQL-based algorithm for initial loading is presented. The per-formance of E-LT method on loading throughout outperforms some commercial ETL approaches by experimental proof and theoretical analysis. 8MULTI-SCALE STRUCTURES IN EMULSION AND MICROSPHERE COMPLEX SYSTEMS显示文摘Multi-scale structures involved in emulsion and microsphere complex systems are presented and discussed. The stability and spatio-temporal structures of emulsions, as well as nano-structures formed on the surface of microspheres after polymerization, are affected by the molecular emulsifier/stabilizer structures and the adsorbed emulsifier/stabilizer nano-structures on the oil/water interface. The broad size distribution and variation of surface features of droplets are responsible for variations of the adsorbed emulsifier/stabilizer structures and the stability of the emulsions.On the other hand, preparation of a uniformly sized emulsion and employment of a combined emulsifier/stabilizer system can preserve the stability of the emulsions and microspheres. 9Surgical instruments hyalinization:Occlusion removal in minimally invasive endoscopic surgery显示文摘Minimal invasion is an important trend in surgery.However,the endoscope,as one of the key devices for monitoring the process of minimally invasive surgery,is limited by its size and working space it operates in,which result in a considerably narrow field of view.In particular,when a surgical instrument enters through the tool channel,the instrument occupies most of the area in an endoscopic image.This hampers the surgeon’s field of view and has a negative impact on the surgery.This study proposes a novel method for removing the occlusion caused by surgical instruments in endoscopic images by making foreground occlusions on endoscopic images transparent using image restoration and interframe information filling.Compared with unprocessed images,this method can provide a clearer field of view that is necessary for minimally invasive endoscopic surgeries and improve the quality of surgeries.Clinical endoscopic images are used to verify the feasibility of the proposed method,and the results show that the proposed method improves the visual effect of endoscopic images by removing surgical-instrument occlusions.This demonstrates the considerable potential of the proposed method for use in clinical applications.Dongsheng Xie Wenxin Chen Jin Zhao Xinya Song Kaifeng Wang Weiwei Xia Haiying Liu Fangle Chang Changsheng Li Xingguang Duan 2023Biomimetic Intelligence & Robotics2023,3,3:1
10Drug adulteration analysis based on complexation with cyclodextrin and metal ions using ion mobility spectrometry显示文摘Drug adulteration and contamination are serious threats to human health therefore,their accurate monitoring is very important.Allopurinol(Alp)and theophylline(Thp)are commonly used drugs for the treatment of gout and bronchitis,while their isomers hypoxanthine(Hyt)and theobromine(Thm)have no effect and affect the efficacy of the drug.In this work,the drug isomers of Alp/Hyt and Thp/Thm are simply mixed withα-,β-,γ-cyclodextrin(CD)and metal ions and separated using trapped ion mobility spectrometry-mass spectrometry(TIMS-MS).TIMS-MS results showed that Alp/Hyt and Thp/Thm isomers could interact with CD and metal ions and form corresponding binary or ternary complexes to achieve their TIMS separation.Different metal ions and CDs showed different separation effect for the isomers,among which Alp and Hyt could be successfully distinguished from the complexes of[Alp/Hyt+γ-CD+Cu–H]^(+)with separation resolution(RP–P)of 1.51;whereas Thp and Thm could be baseline separated by[Thp/Thm+γ-CD+Ca–H]^(+)with RP–P of 1.96.Besides,chemical calculations revealed that the complexes were in the inclusion forms,and microscopic interactions were somewhat different,making their mobility separation.Moreover,relative and absolute quantification was investigated with an internal standard to determine the precise isomers content,and good linearity(R^(2)>0.99)was obtained.Finally,the method was applied for the adulteration detection where different drugs and urine were analyzed.In addition,due to the advantages of fast speed,simple operation,high sensitivity,and no chromatographic separation required,the proposed method provides an effective strategy for the drug adulteration detection of isomers.Zhigang Liang Huanhuan Wang Fangling Wu Longfei Wang Chenwei Li Chuan-Fan Ding 2023Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2023,13,3:0

12A modified harmony search algorithm and its applications in weighted fuzzy production rule extraction显示文摘Harmony search(HS)is a form of stochastic meta-heuristic inspired by the improvisation process of musicians.In this study,a modified HS with a hybrid cuckoo search(CS)operator,HS-CS,is proposed to enhance global search ability while avoiding falling into local optima.First,the randomness of the HS pitch disturbance adjusting method is analyzed to generate an adaptive inertia weight according to the quality of solutions in the harmony memory and to reconstruct the fine-tuning bandwidth optimization.This is to improve the efficiency and accuracy of HS algorithm optimization.Second,the CS operator is introduced to expand the scope of the solution space and improve the density of the population,which can quickly jump out of the local optimum in the randomly generated harmony and update stage.Finally,a dynamic parameter adjustment mechanism is set to improve the efficiency of optimization.Three theorems are proved to reveal HS-CS as a global convergence meta-heuristic algorithm.In addition,12 benchmark functions are selected for the optimization solution to verify the performance of HS-CS.The analysis shows that HS-CS is significantly better than other algorithms in optimizing high-dimensional problems with strong robustness,high convergence speed,and high convergence accuracy.For further verification,HS-CS is used to optimize the back propagation neural network(BPNN)to extract weighted fuzzy production rules.Simulation results show that the BPNN optimized by HS-CS can obtain higher classification accuracy of weighted fuzzy production rules.Therefore,the proposed HS-CS is proved to be effective.Shaoqiang YE Kaiqing ZHOU Azlan Mohd ZAIN Fangling WANG Yusliza YUSOFF 2023Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering2023,24,11:0
13Structural analysis of [Bmim]_2CuCl_4 ionic liquids in the presence of water and ethanol by XAFS technique显示文摘The structure of [Bmim]2Cu Cl4 ionic liquids(Bmim: 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium) with different ratios of H2 O and C2H5 OH was investigated using X-ray absorption fine structure(XAFS) technique. In this study, XAFS was employed to directly probe the conformational variations of copper ions in [Bmim]2Cu Cl4 with the addition of either water or ethanol. XAFS analysis confirmed that the structure of ionic liquids gradually transformed from tetrahedral to octahedral configuration with the increase in ratio of H2 O. Our results also showed that water molecules coordinated with the copper ions of [Bmim]2Cu Cl4, leading to the conformational change in ionic liquids. However, the XAFS spectra of [Bmim]2Cu Cl4/C2H5 OH indicated no coordination of anhydrous ethanol with the copper ions of [Bmim]2Cu Cl4. The structure of [Bmim]2Cu Cl4 ionic liquids is maintained as the tetrahedral configuration in presence of ethanol. 14Room temperature in-situ preparation of hydrazine-linked covalent organic frameworks coated capillaries for separation and determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons显示文摘Covalent organic frameworks(COFs)have been increasingly used in capillary electrochromatography due to their excellent characteristics.In this work,hydrazine-linked TFPB-DHzDS(TFPB:1,3,5-tris(4-formylphenyl)benzene;DHzDS:2,5-bis(3-(ethylthio)propoxy)terephthalohydrazide)was first synthesized by a simpler and easier method at room temperature and introduced into capillary electrochromatography as coating material.The TFPB-DHzDS coated capillaries were prepared by an in-situ growth process at room temperature.After optimizing the coating concentration and experimental conditions of capillary electrochromatography,baseline separation of two groups of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons was achieved based on the TFPB-DHzDS coated capillary.And the established method was used successfully to determine PAHs in natural water and soil samples.The spiked recoveries of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in these samples ranged from 90.01%to 111.0%,indicating that the method is reliable and could detect polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in natural samples.Finally,molecular simulation was applied to study and visualize the interaction between the analytes and coating COF materials to investigate the molecular level separation mechanism further.Yanli Zhang Wenjuan Lv Fangling Wang Xiao Niu Guoxiu Wang Xuequan Wu Xiaoyun Zhang Xingguo Chen 2023Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2023,17,5:0
15The Study of IgG Subclass Profiles of Anti-HBc in Populations with Different Status of HBV Infection显示文摘To study IgG subclasses for the hepatitis B virus (HBV) core antigen (anti-HBc) in different populations, a comparison was made between 104 chronic carriers (60 male and 44 female) and 434 recovered individuals (247 male and 192 female). Biochemistry analyses of AST (aspartate aminotransferase) and ALT (alanine aminotransferase) were also performed. Among the 104 chronic carriers, 21 patients were found to be ALT and AST abnormal (> 25 IU/ml). After comparing these ALT and AST abnormal patients with other ALT and AST normal chronic carriers, no statistical difference was observed in the OD values of the anti-HBe (p > 0.05). The ELISA results showed the anti-HBc IgG subclass pattern was IgG1 > IgG3 > IgG4 in chronic carriers and IgG3 > IgG1 > IgG4 in recovered individuals (p < 0.05). This result suggests the IgG1/IgG3 ratio may be related with HBV status. However, in spite of the different anti-HBc IgG1/IgG3 patterns demonstrated in different populations, both anti-HBc IgG1 and IgG3 concentrations were significantly higher in chronic carriers (p < 0.05). Therefore, both the anti-HBc IgG1/IgG3 ratio and their amounts differed. They may play a significant role in chronic carriers and recovered individuals. The anti-HBc IgG subclass profiles of chronic carriers were not changed regardless of liver inflammation, and were independent of sex and age. 16Molecular Cloning and Bioinformatics Analysis of araC Gene of Vibrio alginolyticus显示文摘[Objective]To clone araC gene of Vibrio alginolyticus HY9901 strain,and analyze bioinformatics.[Methods]the whole genome sequence of Vibrio alginolyticus on GenBank was used to design specific primers.According to the principle of PCR amplification sequence,the target gene araC was amplified,and then the sequence was further analyzed by bioinformatics method to establish the phylogenetic tree of araC gene and its corresponding subunit three-dimensional structure model.[Results]Sequence analysis revealed araC gene is 711 bp and encodes a putative protein of 236 amino acids.The predicted molecular mass of AraC was 26.92 ku.Using Signal P 4.0 and TMHMM Server 2.0 software for analysis,it was predicted that the AraC protein did not contain a signal peptide or a transmembranous region.The AraC protein had two cAMP and cGMP dependent protein kinase phosphorylation site,five protein kinase C phosphorylation sites,three casein kinase II phosphorylation sites,one prenyl group binding site(CAAX box)and five microbodies C-terminal targeting signal.The predicted results of protein subcellular localization showed that AraC was located in the mitochondria,nucleus and cytoplasm.Its protein is unstable and hydrophilic.The AraC protein is a transcriptional regulatory protein which belongs to HTH_18 superfamily.According to the prediction,secondary structure:a-helix(Alpha helix)accounted for 52.12%,random coil(31.78%),extended strand(11.02%),b-fold(Beta turn)accounted for 5.08%.V.alginolyticus,Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Vibrio palustris were clustered together,which implies that the genetic relationship between these three species was the closest.Fangling MO Gyamfua AFRIYIE Jialing HU Junling WANG Shihui ZHOU Zhongduo WANG F.K.A.KUEBUTORNYE Chuanhao PAN Huanying PANG 2021Asian Agricultural Research2021,13,2:0
