Determination on ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratio and stratigraphic dating of single-grain foraminifera显示文摘The Sr isotopic composition of foraminifera has been used in studies of chronstratigraphy and sedi- mentary geochemistry. However, it is difficult to sample foraminifera without overprinting of later diagenesis, which contains enough amount of Sr for isotopic measurement. Analysis of single-grain foraminifera was successively conducted by a combination of low Sr procedural blank and high precision determination of 87Sr/86Sr ratio. This combi- nation of single-grain foraminifera can be significant for the study and application of Sr isotopic composition of fo- raminifera. Measured foraminifera of this study, having a size between 250 μm and 400 μm, were sampled from the carbonate basement of a ferromanganese crust in western Pacific. Mean value of 87Sr/86Sr ratios of the analyzed sin- gle-grain foraminifera is 0.709150 ±0.000013 with internal precision between 4 ppm and 8 ppm for each measurement run. Average value of total procedural blank of Sr is 14 pg. It is significant but difficult to date foraminifera in carbonate basements of ferromanganese crusts. Based on the ob- tained value of 87Sr/86Sr ratio, the analyzed foraminifera can be dated at 0.91 +0.33/?0.39 Ma.TONG Jinggui LI Shengrong LI Xiannhui LI Qiuli FANG Nianqiao CHU Fengyou CHEN Fukun 2006Chinese Science Bulletin2006,51,17:6
The Lanshantou Kyanite-bearing Eclogite with Coesite Inclusions in the Sulu Ultrahigh-Pressure Metamorphic Belt and Its PTt Path显示文摘Coesite inclusions are found in kyanite from the Lanshantoueclogite in the Sulu ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) metamorphic belt. This discovery extends the stable region of kyanite to over 2.4 GPa. As an important UHP metamorphic belt in China, the Sulu eclogite belt is the product of A-subduction induced by strong compression of the Yellow Sea terrane to the Jiaodong-northereastem Jiangsu terrane during the interaction of the Eurasian plate and Palaeo-Pacific plate in the Indosinian. It stretches about 350 km and contains over 1000 eclogite bodies. Most eclogites in this belt belong to Groups B and C in the classification of Coleman et al., and commonly contain kyanite, while the Lanshantou eclogite belongs to Group A and contains coesite. The MgO, CaO and FeO contents in garnet and pyroxene show regular variation from the core to the rim, which reveals the PTt paths of progressive metamorphism during the Early Mesozoic (240-200 Ma) and retrogressive metamorphism during the Late Mesozoic and Cenozoic exhumation.HU Shouxi, SUN Jinggui, LING Hongfei, YE Ying, Fang Changquan and ZHAO Yiying Department of Earth Sciences, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210008, Jiangsu Department of Earth Sciences, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, Zhejiang 2001Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2001,75,4:5
Enzyme activities and gene expression of starch metabolism provide insights into grape berry development显示文摘Grapes are categorized as a non-climacteric type of fruit which its ripening is not associated to important rises in respiration and ethylene synthesis. The starch metabolism shares a certain role in the carbohydrate metabolic pathways during grape berry development, and is regarded as an important transient pool in the pathway of sugar accumulation. However, the comprehensive role of starch and its contribution to the quality and flavor of grape berry have not been explored thoroughly. In this study, the expression levels of genes enzyme activities and carbohydrate concentrations related to starch metabolism, were analyzed to understand the molecular mechanism of starch accumulation during grape berry development. The results indicated that starch granules in grape berry were located at the chloroplast in the sub-epidermal tissues, acting as the temporary reserves of photosynthetic products to meet the needs for berry development, and relatively high starch contents could be detected at véraison stage. Moreover, both ADP-glucose pyrophosphorylase(EC 2.7.7.27)and sucrose phosphate synthase(EC 2.3.1.14)involved in starch synthesis displayed elevated gene expression and enzymes activities in the sub-epidermal tissue,whileα-andβ-amylases involved in its degradation were highly transcribed and active in the central flesh, explaining the absence of starch in this last tissue.Change in the gene expression and activities of ADP-glucose pyrophosphorylase,β-amylase and sucrose phosphate synthase revealed that they were regulated by the circadian rhythms in the fruitlets compared with those in the leaves. Both the morphological, enzymological and transcriptional data in this study provide advanced understandings on the function of starch during berry development and ripening that are so important for berry quality. This study will further facilitate our understanding of the sugar metabolism in grape berry as well as in other plant species.Xudong Zhu Chaobo Zhang Weimin Wu Xiaopeng Li Chuan Zhang Jinggui Fang 2017Horticulture Research2017,4,1:4
Anatomical berry characteristics during the development of grape berries with different shapes显示文摘The aim of this study was to characterize the changes in berry anatomy during the development of grape(Vitis vinifera L.,and Vitis vinifera×Vitis labrusca)with different shapes.Paraffin sectioning was used to examine the structural parameters of the cells. The results revealed that, with the development of berries, the transverse and longitudinal diameters of the flesh cells gradually increased, revealing certain regularity. However, the transverse and longitudinal diameters of the epidermal and sub-epidermal cells were different between varieties, reflecting the specificity of the varieties. The growth of the transverse and longitudinal diameters of the berries was found to be completed in the early stage of development.A combination of correlation analysis and size analysis for each cell layer revealed that, due to the small crosssectional area of the epidermal and sub-epidermal cells, the influence of these cells on the transverse and the longitudinal diameters of the berries would be small. In conclusion, the longitudinal and transverse diameters of the grape berries were mainly determined by the longitudinal and transverse diameters of the flesh cells. The different shapes of the grape berries could mainly be attributed to the different growth rates of the flesh cells in the longitudinal and transverse directions. These different rates of growth led to different lengths and widths of the berry.Chuan Zhang Xiucai Fan Chonghuai Liu Jinggui Fang 2021Horticultural Plant Journal2021,7,4:1

Over-expression of Gene FaASR Promotes Strawberry Fruit Coloring显示文摘Fruit development and ripening is a complicate process. Although much progress has been made on the ripenig process, the molecular mechamism of fruit development is not yet clear. In this study, we used ‘Sweet Charlie' strawberry as test materials, based on cloning the strawberries ASR homologous gene, we carried out the bioinformatics and temporal expression analysis of Fa ASR, by manipulating ASR gene expression level in strawberry fruit, we tested the changes of physiological indicators, including sugar, ABA, pigments content, and fruit firmness, as well as phenotypic changes. In addition, we measured the expression changes of some anthocyanin-related gene, such as CHS and UFGT, by which we revealed the regulation mechanisms of ASR gene over strawberry fruit ripening. Strawberry ASR contained a typical domain of ABA/WDS that was related to fruit ripening and stress-resistance, and ASR gene over-expression could promote strawberry fruit coloring, endogenous ABA and sucrose accumulation, fruit softening, and induced the transcription levels of anthocyanin-related genes CHS and UFGT. The present study will further reveal the molecular mechanisms of information transmission in fruit development, and will also play an important foundation for future molecular improvement of strawberries breeding.LIU Zhongjie ZHAO Pengcheng CUI Liwen FANG Jinggui JIA Haifeng 2015Horticultural Plant Journal2015,1,3:0
Mining candidate genes of grape berry cracking based on high density genetic map显示文摘Fruit cracking is a phenomenon in which the peel cracks during grape berry development, which seriously affects the yield and quality of the fruit. However, there are few studies on the mining of candidate genes related to berry cracking. In order to better understand the genetic basis of berry cracking,we used the results of previous quantitative trait locus(QTL)mapping, combined with field surveys of berry-cracking types and the berry-cracking rate,to mine candidate berry-cracking genes. The results showed that three identical QTL loci were detected in two years(2019 and 2020);and three candidate genes were annotated in the QTL interval. In mature berries, the expressions of the candidate genes were more abundant in the cracking-susceptible parent(‘Crimson Seedless’)than in the cracking-resistant parent(‘Muscat Hamburg’).Grape berry cracking is a complex trait controlled by multiple genes, mainly including genes encoding cellulose synthase–like protein H1,glucan endo-1,3-beta-glucosidase 12,and brassinosteroid insensitive 1-associated receptor kinase 1.The high expression of the candidate berry-cracking genes may promote the occurrence of berry cracking. This study helps elucidate the genetic mechanism of grape berry cracking.Chuan Zhang Liwen Cui Chonghuai Liu Xiucai Fan Jinggui Fang 2023Horticultural Plant Journal2023,9,4:0
Identification of key gene networks controlling monoterpene biosynthesis during grape ripening by integrating transcriptome and metabolite profiling显示文摘Monoterpenes are typical aroma components of muscat grape cultivars, providing pleasant floral and fruity aromas to grapes and wines. However, the molecular mechanism of monoterpene biosynthesis between muscat and non-muscat grape remains unclear. Here, the muscat grape cultivar‘Jumeigui’and the non-muscat grape cultivar‘Kyoho’were chosen as plant materials for a comprehensive transcriptome and metabolite analysis. The gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)analysis demonstrated that a total of 27 and 23 monoterpene compounds were identified and quantified in the‘Jumeigui’and‘Kyoho’grape, respectively.‘Jumeigui’grape accumulated significantly higher concentrations of monoterpenes than‘Kyoho’grape.Furthermore, geraniol, linalool, geranic acid, and β-citronellol might be important odorants contributing to the floral character of the‘Jumeigui’grape due to the high levels odor activity values(OAVs).Transcriptome analysis demonstrated that the expression profiles of VvDXS,VvGGPPS.SSU1,Vv TPS-b/g showed a positive correlation with monoterpene accumulation in grapes. In addition, the expression patterns of the genes involved in jasmonic acid(JA)synthesis and signal were also positively correlated with monoterpene accumulation. All these results will help guide the functional verification of candidate genes related to monoterpene biosynthesis,as well as identify the master transcriptional and hormonal regulators of this pathway in grapes.Xiangpeng Leng Jiameng Cong Lixia Cheng Haoliang Wan Yuanxia Liu Yongbing Yuan Jinggui Fang 2023Horticultural Plant Journal2023,9,5:0
