| 1 | Whole-genome resequencing of the wheat A subgenome progenitor Triticum urartu provides insights into its demographic history and geographic adaptation显示文摘Triticum urartu is the progenitor of the A subgenome in tetraploid and hexaploid wheat.Uncovering the landscape of genetic variations in T.urartu will help us understand the evolutionary and polyploid characteristics of wheat.Here,we investigated the population genomics of T.urartu by genome-wide sequencing of 59 representative accessions collected around the world.A total of 42.2 million highquality single-nucleotide polymorphisms and 3 million insertions and deletions were obtained by mapping reads to the reference genome.The ancient T.urartu population experienced a significant reduction in effective population size(Ne)from3000000 to140000 and subsequently split into eastern Mediterranean coastal and Mesopotamian-Transcaucasian populations during the Younger Dryas period.A map of allelic drift paths displayed splits and mixtures between different geographic groups,and a strong genetic drift towards hexaploid wheat was also observed,indicating that the direct donor of the A subgenome originated from northwestern Syria.Genetic changes were revealed between the eastern Mediterranean coastal and Mesopotamian-Transcaucasian populations in genes orthologous to those regulating plant development and stress responses.A genome-wide association study identified two single-nucleotide polymorphisms in the exonic regions of the SEMI-DWARF 37 ortholog that corresponded to the different T.urartu ecotype groups.Our study provides novel insights into the origin and genetic legacy of the A subgenome in polyploid wheat and contributes a gene repertoire for genomicsenabled improvements in wheat breeding. | Xin Wang Yafei Hu Weiming He Kang Yu Chi Zhang Yiwen Li Wenlong Yang Jiazhu Sun Xin Li Fengya Zheng Shengjun Zhou Lingrang Kong Hongqing Ling Shancen Zhao Dongcheng Liu Aimin Zhang | 2022 | Plant Communications2022,3,5: | 1 |
| 2 | Novel Natural Allelic Variations at the Rht-1 Loci in Wheat显示文摘Plant height is an important agronomic trait.Dramatic increase in wheat yield during the'green revolution'is mainly due to the widespread utilization of the Reduced height(Rht)-1 gene.We analyzed the natural allelic variations of three homoeologous loci Rht-A1,Rht-B1,and Rht-D1 in Chinese wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)micro-core collections and the Rht-B1/D1 genotypes in over 1,500 bred cultivars and germplasms using a modifed EcoTILLING.We identifed six new Rht-A1 allelic variations(Rht-A1b–g),eight new Rht-B1 allelic variations(Rht-B1h–o),and six new Rht-D1 allelic variations(Rht-D1e–j).These allelic variations contain single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)or small insertions and deletions in the coding or uncoding regions,involving two frame-shift mutations and 15 missenses.Of which,Rht-D1e and Rht-D1h resulted in the loss of interactions of GID1-DELLA-GID2,Rht-B1i could increase plant height.We found that the Rht-B1h contains the same SNPs and 197 bp fragment insertion as reported in Rht-B1c.Further detection of Rht-B1h in Tibet wheat germplasms and wheat relatives indicated that Rht-B1c may originate from Rht-B1h.These results suggest rich genetic diversity at the Rht-1 loci and provide new resources for wheat breeding. | Aixia Li Wenlong Yang Xueyuan Lou Dongcheng Liu Jiazhu Sun Xiaoli Guo Jing Wang Yiwen Li Kehui Zhan Hong-Qing Ling Aimin Zhang | 2013 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2013,55,11: | 1 |

| 6 | Performance of vertical axis water turbine with eye-shaped baffle for pico hydropower显示文摘t A series of inline pico hydropower systems,which could be used in confined space,especially for water distribution networks(WDNs),was designed and investigated.The turbine with an eye-shaped vertical water baffle was developed to evaluate the hydraulic performance.A three-dimensional dynamic mesh was employed and the inlet velocity was considered as the inlet boundary condition,whereas the outlet boundary was set as the outflow.Then,numerical simulations were conducted and the standard k-εturbulence model was found to be the best capable of predicting flow features through the comparison with the experimental results.The effects of the opening diameter of the water baffle and installation angle of the rotor on the flow field in the turbine were investigated.The results suggested that the water baffle opening at d=30 mm and the rotor at a 52°angle could achieve the highest efficiency of 5.93%.The proper eye-shaped baffle not only accelerates the fluid flow and generates positive hydrodynamic torque,but also eliminates the flow separation.The scheme proposed in this paper can be exploited for practical applications in the water pipelines at various conditions and power requirements. | Zhuohuan HU Dongcheng WANG Wei LU Jian CHEN Yuwen ZHANG | 2022 | Frontiers in Energy2022,16,4: | 0 |
