| 1 | Investigation of the Flow in the Impeller Side Clearances of a Centrifugal Pump with Volute Casing显示文摘The paper is concerned with the fluid flow in the impeller side clearances of a centrifugal pump with volute cas-ing.The flow conditions in these small axial gaps are of significant importance for a number of effects such as disk friction,leakage losses or hydraulic axial thrust to name but a few.In the investigated single stage pump,the flow pattern in the volute turns out to be asymmetric even at design flow rate.To gain a detailed insight into the flow structure,numerical simulations of the complete pump including the impeller side clearances are accom-plished.Additionally,the hydraulic head and the radial pressure distributions in the impeller side clearances are measured and compared with the numerical results.Two configurations of the impeller,either with or without balancing holes,are examined.Moreover,three different operating points,i.e.:design point,part load or overload conditions are considered.In addition,analytical calculations are accomplished to determine the pressure distri-butions in the impeller side clearances.If accurate boundary conditions are available,the 1D flow models used in this paper can provide reasonable results for the radial static pressure distribution in the impeller side clearances.Furthermore,a counter rotating wake region develops in the rear impeller side clearances in absence of balancing holes which severely affects the inflow and outflow conditions of the cavity in circumferential direction. | Bjrn-Christian Will Friedrich-Karl Benra Hans-Josef Dohmen | 2012 | Journal of Thermal Science2012，21，3： | 17 |

Fenofibrate is a member of such fibrate class agents as bezafibrate and it work as a ligand of PPARα, and also shows a potent triglyceride-lowering effect. The elevation of aminotransferase levels has been frequently observed after the administration of fenofibrate and this phenomenon is considered to be non-pathological because fenofibrate activates the gene expression of the aminotransferases. Recently, fenofibrate has been used not only for hypercholesterolemia but also for primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC)[1,2]. However, the occurrence of liver injury induced by fenofibrate has not yet been reported written in the English literature. | 5 | Experimental investigation of velocity fluctuations in a radial diffuser pump显示文摘The strong interaction in a radial pump due to the relative movement between the impeller and the diffuser may excite not only strong pressure fluctuations but also velocity fluctuations. In this paper, the laser Doppler velocimetry(LDV) technique is successfully applied to measure the periodic flow field in a radial diffuser pump with low-specific speed, in order to investigate the velocity fluctuations caused by the impeller-diffuser interactions both in the impeller and diffuser regions. The velocity fluctuations in the impeller region are quantitatively examined at different radial positions, and the flow structure at the radial gap between two flow components is analyzed at different relative positions. | 9 | Skull metastasis from hepatocellular carcinoma with chronic hepatitis B显示文摘A 56-year-old male visited our hospital for evaluation of an occipital mass.Contrast computed tomography showed hypervascular enhancement with osteolytic change in the skull and a huge enhanced mass in the liver.Magnetic resonance imaging showed bone metastasis in the thoracic vertebrae.Assays for hepatitis B surface antigen and hepatitis B core antibody were positive and his liver condition was Child-Pugh grade A.Our diagnosis was hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) with skull and vertebrae metastases on chronic hepatitis B.He was treated with radiation therapy for bone metastases and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization for HCC.But he developed acute respiratory failure because of aspiration pneumonia,congestion and oedema with haemorrhage of the lungs and died.Dissection showed HCC with multiple bone metastases.The liver tumor was categorized as well-differentiated HCC,Edmondson classification Ⅰ,trabecular type and pseudoglandular type.In the liver mild infiltration of lymphocytes was seen in Glisson's capsules which were signif icantly enlarged with well preserved limiting plates.Piecemeal necrosis was not obvious.No fibrosis was noted.An 8 cm × 7 cm × 3 cm metastatic lesion had formed in the left occipitotemporal part of the cranial bone.The lesion was osteolytic and showed invasion into the dura mater.Neither the subdural cavity nor the brain showed involvement from the metastatic tumor.However,skull metastasis from HCC is very rare and it affects the patient's prognosis and the quality of life.Therefore,it is very important to make an early diagnosis and carry out proper management of skull metastasis from HCC. | Takashi Goto Takahiro Dohmen Kouichi Miura Shigetoshi Ohshima Kazuo Yoneyama Tomomi Shibuya Ei Kataoka Daisuke Segawa Wataru Sato Yumiko Anezaki Hajime Ishii Daigo Kon Ikuhiro Yamada Kentaro Kamada Hirohide Ohnishi | 2010 | World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2010，2，3： | 2 |
