14-1BB signaling activates glucose and fatty acid metabolism to enhance CD8^(+) T cell proliferation显示文摘4-1BB(CD137)is a strong enhancer of the proliferation of CD8^(+)T cells.Since these cells require increased production of energy and biomass to support their proliferation,we hypothesized that 4-1BB signaling activated glucose and fatty acid metabolism.We found that treatment with agonistic anti-4-1BB mAb promoted the proliferation of CD8^(+)T cells in vitro,increasing their size and granularity.Studies with a glycolysis inhibitor and a fatty acid oxidation inhibitor revealed that CD8^(+)T cell proliferation required both glucose and fatty acid metabolism.Anti-4-1BB treatment increased glucose transporter 1 expression and activated the liver kinase B1(LKB1)-AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK)-acetyl-CoA carboxylase(ACC)signaling pathway,which may be responsible for activating the metabolism of glucose and fatty acids.We also examined whether blocking glucose or fatty acid metabolism affected cell cycle progression and the anti-apoptotic effect of 4-1BB signaling.The increase of anti-apoptotic factors and cyclins in response to anti-4-1BB treatment was completely prevented by treating CD8^(+)T cells with the fatty acid oxidation inhibitor,etomoxir,but not with the glycolysis inhibitor,2-deoxy-D-glucose.We conclude that anti-4-1BB treatment activates glucose and fatty acid metabolism thus supporting the increased demand for energy and biomass,and that fatty acid metabolism plays a crucial role in enhancing the cell cycle progression of anti-CD3-activated CD8^(+)T cells in vitro and the anti-apoptotic effects of 4-1BB signaling on these cells.Beom K Choi Do Y Lee Don G Lee Young H Kim Seon-Hee Kim Ho S Oh Chungyong Han Byoung S Kwon 2017Cellular & Molecular Immunology2017,14,9:6

3Physiological Effect of Kinetin on the Photosynthetic Apparatus and Antioxidant Enzymes Activities During Production of Anthurium显示文摘The results observed in the literature raise the hypothesis according to which cytokinin plays important roles in photosynthetic metabolisms and antioxidant enzymes. Thus, the study aimed to evaluate the effect of foliar application of the isolated cytokinin kinetin at the production cycle, seeking to analyze its effects on enzyme activity and photosynthetic parameters. The plants treated with CK presented reduction of leaf CO_2 assimilation rate(Pn) and stomatal conductance(Gs), while that transpiration rate(Tr) was unaffected. The internal CO_2 concentrations decreased with the increase in cytokinin levels, but were maintained under CK 50 mg·L^(-1). The plants treated with CK 75 mg·L^(-1) was verified higher carboxylation efficiency(Pn/Ci), which was associated to values of CO_2 assimilation and transpiration unaltered. Apparent electron transport rate showed variations in the concentration of 25 mg·L^(-1). Considering the study of enzyme activity, on the other hand, it cannot be stated that kinetin has an effective action in delaying oxidative damage. It presents mixed results, since an efficiency in the application of cytokinin was not observed, presenting induction levels of ascorbate peroxidase activity. 4Mimicking unfolding motion of a beetle hind wing显示文摘This paper presents an experimental research aiming to realize an artificial hind wing that can mimic the wing unfolding motion of Allomyrina dichotoma, an insect in coleopteran order. Based on the understanding of working principles of beetle wing folding/unfolding mechanisms, the hind wing unfolding motion is mimicked by a combination of creative ideas and state-of-art artificial muscle actuator. In this work, we devise two types of artificial wings and the successfully demonstrate that they can be unfolded by actuation of shape memory alloy wires to provide actuation force at the wing base and along the leading edge vein. 5采用Fe_(2)O_(3)/水纳米流体强化翅片管壳换热器的传热显示文摘为了优化效率和减少能量损失,需要对传热机理及热性能进行全面研究。在基液中加入不同的纳米颗粒可提高热交换器的热性能。设计了一种翅片管壳式换热器,以体积浓度分别为1%、1.5%、2%的Fe_(2)O_(3)/水纳米流体作为换热流体,研究不同体积浓度的纳米流体对传热的影响,并将所得结果与纯水作为换热流体结果进行比较。采用ANSYS Fluent软件对传热过程进行数值模拟。数值模拟结果表明:纳米流体可成功应用于换热器中,提高Fe_(2)O_(3)纳米颗粒的体积分数可以获得更大的热能,而不会产生明显的压降。此外,当纳米流体中Fe_(2)O_(3)的体积分数为2%时,其传热速率提高率最高,为19.1%。AFSHARI Faraz SÖZEN Adnan KHANLARI Ataollah TUNCER Azim Doğuş 2021Journal of Central South University2021,28,11:2
