Anisotropic coding metamaterials and their powerful manipulation of differently polarized terahertz waves显示文摘Metamaterials based on effective media can be used to produce a number of unusual physical properties(for example, negative refraction and invisibility cloaking)because they can be tailored with effective medium parameters that do not occur in nature.Recently, the use of coding metamaterials has been suggested for the control of electromagnetic waves through the design of coding sequences using digital elements‘0’and‘1,'which possess opposite phase responses. Here we propose the concept of an anisotropic coding metamaterial in which the coding behaviors in different directions are dependent on the polarization status of the electromagnetic waves. We experimentally demonstrate an ultrathin and flexible polarization-controlled anisotropic coding metasurface that functions in the terahertz regime using specially designed coding elements.By encoding the elements with elaborately designed coding sequences(both 1-bit and 2-bit sequences),the x-and y-polarized waves can be anomalously reflected or independently diffused in three dimensions. The simulated far-field scattering patterns and near-field distributions are presented to illustrate the dual-functional performance of the encoded metasurface, and the results are consistent with the measured results. We further demonstrate the ability of the anisotropic coding metasurfaces to generate a beam splitter and realize simultaneous anomalous reflections and polarization conversions, thus providing powerful control of differently polarized electromagnetic waves. The proposed method enables versatile beam behaviors under orthogonal polarizations using a single metasurface and has the potential for use in the development of interesting terahertz devices.Shuo Liu Tie Jun Cui Quan Xu Di Bao Liangliang Du Xiang Wan Wen Xuan Tang Chunmei Ouyang Xiao Yang Zhou Hao Yuan Hui Feng Ma Wei Xiang Jiang Jiaguang Han Weili Zhang Qiang Cheng 2016Light(Science & Applications)2016,5,1:36

Global leaf nitrogen and phosphorus stoichiometry and their scaling exponent显示文摘Leaf nitrogen(N) and phosphorus(P) concentrations constrain photosynthetic and metabolic processes, growth and the productivity of plants. Their stoichiometry and scaling relationships regulate the allocation of N and P from subcellular to organism, and even ecosystem levels, and are crucial to the modelling of plant growth and nutrient cycles in terrestrial ecosystems. Prior work has revealed a general biogeographic pattern of leaf N and P stoichiometric relationships and shown that leaf N scales roughly as two-thirds the power of P. However, determining whether and how leaf N and P stoichiometries, especially their scaling exponents, change with functional groups and environmental conditions requires further verification. In this study, we compiled a global data set and documented the global leaf N and P concentrations and the N:P ratios by functional group, climate zone and continent. The global overall mean leaf N and P concentrations were 18.9 mg g^(-1) and 1.2 mg g^(-1), respectively, with significantly higher concentrations in herbaceous than woody plants(21.72 mg g^(-1) vs. 18.22 mg g^(-1) for N; and 1.64 mg g^(-1) vs. 1.10 mg g^(-1) for P). Both leaf N and P showed higher concentrations at high latitudes than low latitudes. Among six continents, Europe had the highest N and P concentrations(20.79 and 1.54 mg g^(-1)) and Oceania had the smallest values(10.01 and 0.46 mg g^(-1)). These numerical values may be used as a basis for the comparison of other individual studies. Further, we found that the scaling exponent varied significantly across different functional groups, latitudinal zones, ecoregions and sites. The exponents of herbaceous and woody plants were 0.659 and0.705, respectively, with significant latitudinal patterns decreasing from tropical to temperate to boreal zones. At sites with a sample size ≥10, the values fluctuated from 0.366 to 1.928, with an average of 0.841.Several factors including the intrinsic attributes of different life forms, P-related growth rates and relative nutrient availability of soils likely account for the inconstant exponents of leaf N vs. P scaling relationships.Di Tian Zhengbing Yan Karl J.Niklas Wenxuan Han Jens Kattge Peter B.Reich Yongkai Luo Yahan Chen Zhiyao Tang Huifeng Hu Ian J.Wright Bernhard Schmid Jingyun Fang 2018National Science Review2018,5,5:24
Neuroprotective effects of ginsenoside Rg1-induced neural stem cell transplantation on hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy显示文摘Ginsenoside Rg1 is the major pharmacologically active component of ginseng, and is reported to have various therapeutic actions. To determine whether it induces the differentiation of neural stem cells, and whether neural stem cell transplantation after induction has therapeutic effects on hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy,we cultured neural stem cells in 10–80 μM ginsenoside Rg1.Immunohistochemistry revealed that of the concentrations tested,20 m M ginsenoside Rg1 had the greatest differentiation-inducing effect and was the concentration used for subsequent experiments.Whole-cell patch clamp showed that neural stem cells induced by 20 μM ginsenoside Rg1 were more mature than non-induced cells. We then established neonatal rat models of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy using the suture method, and ginsenoside Rg1-induced neural stem cells were transplanted via intracerebroventricular injection. These tests confirmed that neural stem cells induced by ginsenoside had fewer pathological lesions and had a significantly better behavioral capacity than model rats that received saline.Transplanted neural stem cells expressed neuron-specific enolase, and were mainly distributed in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex. The present data suggest that ginsenoside Rg1-induced neural stem cells can promote the partial recovery of complicated brain functions in models of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.Ying-bo Li Yan Wang Ji-ping Tang Di Chen Sha-li Wang 2015Neural Regeneration Research2015,10,5:20

Precipitation and stability of reversed austenite in 9Ni steel显示文摘A new method was used to analyze the factors affecting the precipitation of reversed austenite during tempering. The samples were kept at various tempering temperatures for 10 min and their length changes were recorded. Then, the precipitation of reversed austenite which led to the length reduction was shown by thermal expansion curves. The results show that the effects of process parameters on the precipitation of reversed austenite can be determined more accurately by this method than by X-ray diffraction. When the quenching and tempering process is adopted, both the lower quenching temperature and higher tempering temperature can promote the precipitation of reversed austenite during tempering; and when the quenching, lamellarizing, and tempering process is used, intercritical quenching is considered beneficial to the precipitation of reversed austenite in the subsequent tempering because of Ni segregation during holding at the intercritical temperature.Yue-hui Yang Qing-wu Cai Di Tang Hui-bin Wu 2010International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2010,17,5:13
Effects of annealing temperature on the microstructure and properties of the 25Mn-3Si-3Al TWIP steel显示文摘Microstructures and mechanical properties of the 25Mn twinning induced plasticity (TWIP) steel at different annealing temperatures were investigated. The results indicated that when the annealing temperature was 1000°C,the 25Mn steel showed ex-cellent comprehensive mechanical properties, the tensile strength was about 640 MPa,the yield strength was higher than 255 MPa,and the elongation was above 82%. The microstructure was analyzed by optical microscopy (OM),X-ray diffraction (XRD),and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Before deformation the microstructure was composed of austenitic matrix and annealing twins at room temperature; at the same time,a significant amount of annealing twins and stacking faults were observed by TEM. Mechanical twins played a dominant role in deformation and as a result the mechanical properties were found to be excellent.Zhen-li Mi Di Tang Hai-tao Jiang Yong-juan Dai Shen-sheng Li 2009International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2009,16,2:13
mTOR/miR-145-regulated exosomal GOLM1 promotes hepatocellular carcinoma through augmented GSK-3b/MMPs显示文摘Golgi membrane protein 1(GOLM1/GP73)is a serum marker of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).We have previously shown that mTOR promoted tumorigenesis of HCC through stimulating GOLM1 expression. In this study,we demonstrated that the mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR)was a negative regulator of microRNA-145(miR-145)expression.miR-145 inhibited GOLM1 expression by targeting a coding sequence of GOLM1 gene.GOLM1 and miR-145 were inversely correlated in human HCC tissues.GOLM1-enriched exosomes activated the glycogen synthase kinase-3β/matrix metalloproteinases(GSK-3β/MMPs)signaling axis of recipient cells and accelerated cell proliferation and migration. In contrast,miR-145 suppressed tumorigenesis and metastasis. We suggest that mTOR/miR-145/GOLM1 signaling pathway should be targeted for HCC treatment.Xiaochen Gai Bufu Tang Fangming Liu Yuting Wu Fang Wang Yanling Jing Fuqiang Huang Di Jin Ling Wang Hongbing Zhang 2019Journal of Genetics and Genomics2019,46,5:13
A phase I study of different doses and frequencies of pegylated recombinant human granulocyte-colony stimulating factor(PEG rhG-CSF) in patients with standard-dose chemotherapy-induced neutropenia显示文摘Objective: The recommended dose of prophylactic pegylated recombinant human granulocyte-colony stimulating factor(PEG rhG-CSF) is 100 μg/kg once per cycle for patients receiving intense-dose chemotherapy. However, few data are available on the proper dose for patients receiving less-intense chemotherapy. The aim of this phase I study is to explore the proper dose and administration schedule of PEG rhG-CSF for patients receiving standard-dose chemotherapy. Methods:Eligible patients received 3-cycle chemotherapy every 3 weeks. No PEG rhG-CSF was given in the first cycle.Patients experienced grade 3 or 4 neutropenia would then enter the cycle 2 and 3.In cycle 2,patients received a single subcutaneous injection of prophylactic PEG rhG-CSF on d 3,and received half-dose subcutaneous injection in cycle 3 on d 3 and d 5,respectively.Escalating doses(30,60,100 and 200μg/kg)of PEG rhG-CSF were investigated. Results:A total of 26 patients were enrolled and received chemotherapy,in which 24 and 18 patients entered cycle 2 and cycle 3 treatment, respectively. In cycle 2,the incidence of grade 3 or 4 neutropenia for patients receiving single-dose PEG rhG-CSF of 30,60,100 and 200 μg/kg was 66.67%,33.33%,22.22% and 0,respectively,with a median duration less than 1(0–2)d.No grade 3 or higher neutropenia was noted in cycle 3 in all dose cohorts. Conclusions:The pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profiles of PEG rhG-CSF used in cancer patients were similar to those reported,as well as the safety.Double half dose administration model showed better efficacy result than a single dose model in terms of grade 3 neutropenia and above. The single dose of 60 μg/kg,100 μg/kg and double half dose of 30 μg/kg were recommended to the phase Ⅱ study, hoping to find a preferable method for neutropenia treatment.Yan Qin Xiaohong Han Lin Wang Ping Du Jiarui Yao Di Wu Yuanyuan Song Shuxiang Zhang Le Tang Yuankai Shi 2017Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,5:11
A CFD/CSD model for aeroelastic calculations of large-scale wind turbines显示文摘In this paper,a CFD/CSD model coupling N-S equations and structural equations of motion in the time domain is described for aeroelastic analysis of large wind turbines. The structural modes of blades are analyzed with one-dimensional beam models.By combining point matched sliding grid for wind turbine rotation and deforming grid for structural vibrations,a hybrid dynamic grid strategy is designed for the multi-block structured grid system of a wind turbine. The dual time-stepping approach and finite volume scheme are applied to the three-dimensional unsteady preconditioned N-S equations, and DES approach is employed to simulate the unsteady massively separated flows.A modal approach is adopted to calculate the structural response, and a predictor-corrector scheme is used to solve the structural equations of motion.CFD and CSD solvers are tightly coupled via successive iterations within each physical time step.As a result,a time-domain CFD/CSD model for aeroelastic analysis of a large wind turbine is achieved. The presented method is applied to the NH1500 large wind turbine under the rated condition, and the calculated aeroelastic characteristics agree well with those of the prescribed vortex wake method.GUO TongQing LU ZhiLiang TANG Di WANG TongGuang DONG Lu 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,1:11
Commissioning progress of the FAST显示文摘The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST) was completed with its main structure installed on September 25, 2016, after which it entered the commissioning phase. This paper aims to introduce the commissioning progress of the FAST over the past two years. To improve its operational reliability and ensure effective observation time, FAST has been equipped with a real-time information system for the active reflector system and hierarchical commissioning scheme for the feed support system, which ultimately achieves safe operation of the two systems. For meeting the high-performance indices, a highprecision measurement system was set up based on the effective control methods that were implemented for the active reflector system and feed support system. Since the commissioning of the FAST, a low-frequency ultra-wideband receiver and 19-beam1.05-1.45 GHz receiver have been mainly used. Telescope efficiency, pointing accuracy, and system noise temperature were completely tested and ultimately achieved the acceptance indices of the telescope. The FAST has been in the process of national acceptance preparations and has begun to search for pulsars. In the future, it will still strive to improve its capabilities and expand its application prospects.Peng Jiang YouLing Yue HengQian Gan Rui Yao Hui Li GaoFeng Pan JingHai Sun DongJun Yu HongFei Liu NingYu Tang Lei Qian JiGuang Lu Jun Yan Bo Peng ShuXin Zhang QiMing Wang Qi Li Di Li 2019Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2019,62,5:11

Contribution and underlying mechanisms of CXCR4 overexpression in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus显示文摘Aberrant expression of CXCR4 has been indicated to play a role in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE),but the mechanism of CXCR4 dysregulation in SLE is unclear. This study is aimed to explore the clinical significance and possible mechanisms of abnormal CXCR4 expression on B cells from patients with untreated SLE.Expression of CXCR4 on peripheral B cells was determined by flow cytometry and western blotting.Freshly isolated B cells were cultured with exogenous interleukin 21(IL-21)in the presence or absence of CD40 ligand(CD40L)plus anti-IgM antibody(aIgM),and changes in CXCR4 expression were detected.Involvement of phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase(PI3K)/Akt and Janus kinase/Signal transducer and activator of transcription(JAK/STAT)signaling pathways was assessed by adding blocking agents Ly294002 and AG490.Since CD63 is reported to mediate endosomal recruitment of CXCR4 and BCL6 is capable of silencing CD63 gene transcription,we also measured BCL6 and CD63 gene transcription with real-time PCR.It was shown that CXCR4 expression on B cells was significantly upregulated in SLE patients, especially in those with lupus nephritis, and was positively correlated with SLE Disease Activity Index scores and negatively with the serum complement 3 levels(Po0.05).Downregulation of CXCR4 by IL-21 was intact. In contrast,a similar effect of aIgM plus CD40L in downregulating CXCR4 expression was defective in SLE patients but was restored by co-stimulation with IL-21 in vitro. Both Ly294002 and AG490 promoted downregulation of surface CXCR4 expression on B cells from SLE patients(P=0.078 and P=0.064).Furthermore,B cells from SLE patients exhibited diminished CD63 mRNA and enhanced BCL6 mRNA expression(both Po0.05).To sum up,CXCR4 was overexpressed on SLE B cells, positively correlating with disease activity and kidney involvement.Overactivation of the PI3K/Akt and JAK/STAT pathways as well as defective CD63 synthesis may contribute to CXCR4 dysregulation in SLE.Li-dan Zhao Di Liang Xiang-ni Wu Yang Li Jing-wen Niu Chen Zhou Li Wang Hua Chen Wen-jie Zheng Yun-yun Fei Fu-lin Tang Yong-zhe Li Feng-chun Zhang Wei He Xue-tao Cao Xuan Zhang 2017Cellular & Molecular Immunology2017,14,10:10
Influence of isothermal bainitic processing on the mechanical properties and microstructure characterization of TRIP steel显示文摘The mechanical properties of transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) steel are strongly affected by the conditions of iso-thermal bainitic processing. The multiphase microstructure of TRIP steel under different conditions of isothermal bainitic processing was investigated using OM,SEM,XRD and TEM. The volume fraction of retained austenite and the carbon content in austenite were determined quantitatively using X-ray diffraction patterns. The relationship between mechanical properties and isothermal bainitic processing parameters was investigated. The stability of retained austenite was analyzed by the volume fraction of retained austenite and the carbon content in retained austenite. The experimental results show that the multiphase microstructure consists of ferrite, bainite and metastable retained austenite. To obtain good mechanical properties, the optimal conditions of isothermal bainitic tem-perature and holding time are 410-430°C and 180-240 s,respectively. After isothermal bainitic processing under the optimal condi-tions,the corresponding volume fraction of retained austenite is 5vol%-15vol%,which can provide enough retained austenite and plastic stability for austenite with high carbon content.Haitao Jiang Hubin Wu Di Tang Qiang Liu 2008Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2008,15,5:10
Kinematics of syn-tectonic unconformities and implications for the tectonic evolution of the Hala'alat Mountains at the northwestern margin of the Junggar Basin,Central Asian Orogenic Belt显示文摘The Hala'alat Mountains are located at the transition between the West Junggar and the Junggar Basin. In this area, rocks are Carboniferous, with younger strata above them that have been identified through well data and high-resolution 3D seismic profiles.Among these strata, seven unconformities are observed and distributed at the bases of:the Permian Jiamuhe Formation, the Permian Fengcheng Formation, the Triassic Baikouquan Formation, the Jurassic Badaowan Formation, the Jurassic Xishanyao Formation, the Cretaceous Tugulu Group and the Paleogene. On the basis of balanced sections, these unconformities are determined to have been formed by erosion of uplifts or rotated fault blocks primarily during the Mesozoic and Cenozoic. In conjunction with the currently understood tectonic background of the surrounding areas, the following conclusions are proposed:the unconformities at the bases of the Permian Jiamuhe and Fengcheng formations are most likely related to the subduction and closure of the Junggar Ocean during the late Carboniferous-early Permian;the unconformities at the bases of the Triassic Baikouquan and Jurassic Badaowan formations are closely related to the late Permian-Triassic Durbut sinistral slip fault;the unconformities at the bases of the middle Jurassic Xishanyao Formation and Cretaceous Tugulu Group may be related to reactivation of the Durbut dextral slip fault in the late Jurassic-early Cretaceous, and the unconformity that gives rise to the widely observed absence of the upper Cretaceous in the northern Junggar Basin may be closely related to large scale uplift. All of these geological phenomena indicate that the West Junggar was not calm in the Mesozoic and Cenozoic and that it experienced at least four periods of tectonic movement.Delong Ma Dengfa He Di Li Jieyun Tang Zheng Liu 2015Geoscience Frontiers2015,6,2:9
Influence of Chromium on Corrosion Behavior of Low-alloy Steel in Cargo Oil Tank O_2-CO_2-SO_2-H_2S Wet Gas Environment显示文摘As international maritime organization(IMO)draft 289 was adopted to develop a low-alloy anti-corrosion steel for the deck of cargo oil tank and to understand corrosion mechanism, corrosion behavior of a low-alloy steel with chromium contents was studied in O2-CO2-SO2-H2 S wet gas environment.Corrosion rate was measured, and the microstructure and morphology of corrosion product film were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The phase and chemical composition of the corrosion product film were investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD)and energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),respectively. The effect of misorientation distribution on corrosion resistance of steel was evaluated by electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD).The results showed that corrosion rate decreased with increasing chromium content in the low-alloy steel, and the corrosion type was general corrosion. The phenomenon of chromium enrichment was found in corrosion product film consisting ofα-FeOOH,γ-FeOOH,sulphur,FeS2 and Fe1-xS.The increase of chromium content decreases the amount of high-angle grain boundaries, thus resulting in the improvement of corrosion resistance.Peng ZHOU Jin-ming LIANG Fei ZHANG Hui-bin WU Di TANG 2015Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2015,22,7:9

Fluorescence regional integration and differential fluorescence spectroscopy for analysis of structural characteristics and proton binding properties of fulvic acid sub-fractions显示文摘Structural characteristics and proton binding properties of sub-fractions(FA3–FA13) of fulvic acid(FA), eluted stepwise by pyrophosphate buffer were examined by use of fluorescence titration combined with fluorescence regional integration(FRI) and differential fluorescence spectroscopy(DFS). Humic-like(H-L) and fulvic-like(F-L) materials, which accounted for more than 80% of fluorescence response, were dominant in five sub-fractions of FA. Based on FRI analysis, except the response of F-L materials in FA9 and FA13, maximum changes in percent fluorescence response were less than 10% as pH was increased from 2.5 to 11.5.Contents of carboxylic and phenolic groups were compared for fluorescence peaks of FA sub-fractions based on pH-dependent fluorescence derived from DFS. Static quenching was the dominant mechanism for binding of protons by FA sub-fractions. Dissociation constants(p Ka) were calculated by use of results of DFS and the modified Stern-Volmer relationship. The p Kaof H-L, F-L, tryptophan-like and tyrosine-like materials of FA subfractions exhibited ranges of 3.17–4.06, 3.12–3.97, 4.14–4.45 and 4.25–4.76, respectively, for acidic pHs. At basic pHs, values of p Ka for corresponding materials were in ranges of 9.71–10.24, 9.62–10.99, 9.67–10.31 and 9.33–10.28, respectively. At acidic pH, protein-like(P-L)materials had greater affinities for protons than did either H-L or F-L materials. The dicarboxylic and phenolic groups were likely predominant sites of protonation for both H-L and F-L materials at both acidic and basic pHs. Amino acid groups were significant factors during proton binding to protein-like materials of FA sub-fractions at basic pH.Fanhao Song Fengchang Wu Weiying Feng Zhi Tang John P.Giesy Fei Guo Di Shi Xiaofei Liu Ning Qin Baoshan Xing Yingchen Bai 2018Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,12:9
Plasma metabolomic and lipidomic alterations associated with COVID-19显示文摘The pandemic of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has become a global public health crisis. The symptoms of COVID-19 range from mild to severe, but the physiological changes associated with COVID-19 are barely understood. In this study,we performed targeted metabolomic and lipidomic analyses of plasma from a cohort of patients with COVID-19 who had experienced different symptoms. We found that metabolite and lipid alterations exhibit apparent correlation with the course of disease in these patients, indicating that the development of COVID-19 affected their whole-body metabolism. In particular, malic acid of the TCA cycle and carbamoyl phosphate of the urea cycle result in altered energy metabolism and hepatic dysfunction, respectively. It should be noted that carbamoyl phosphate is profoundly down-regulated in patients who died compared with patients with mild symptoms. And,more importantly, guanosine monophosphate(GMP),which is mediated not only by GMP synthase but also by CD39 and CD73,is significantly changed between healthy subjects and patients with COVID-19,as well as between the mild and fatal cases. In addition, dyslipidemia was observed in patients with COVID-19.Overall,the disturbed metabolic patterns have been found to align with the progress and severity of COVID-19.This work provides valuable knowledge about plasma biomarkers associated with COVID-19 and potential therapeutic targets,as well as an important resource for further studies of the pathogenesis of COVID-19.Di Wu Ting Shu Xiaobo Yang Jian-Xin Song Mingliang Zhang Chengye Yao Wen Liu Muhan Huang Yuan Yu Qingyu Yang Tingju Zhu Jiqian Xu Jingfang Mu Yaxin Wang Hong Wang Tang Tang Yujie Ren Yongran Wu Shu-Hai Lin Yang Qiu Ding-Yu Zhang You Shang Xi Zhou 2020National Science Review2020,7,7:9
Improvement of the matrix and the interface quality of a Cu/Al composite by the MARB process显示文摘The matrix accumulative roll bonding technology (MARB) can improve the matrix performance of metal com- posite and strengthen the bonding quality of the interface. In this research, for the first time, the technology of MARB was proposed. A sound Cu/Al bonding composite was obtained using the MARB process and the bonding characteristic of the interface was studied using scanning electricity microscope (SEM) and energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The result indicated that accumulation cycles and diffusion annealing temperature were the most important factors for fabricating a Cu/Al composite material. The substrate aluminum was strengthened by MARB, and a high quality Cu/Al composite with sound interface was obtained as well.XU Rongchang TANG Di REN Xueping WANG Xiaohong WEN Yonghong 2007Rare Metals2007,26,3:9
