By constructing an example, first it is illustrated that the classical solution to this kind of Cauchy problem may blow up in a finite time, even if the system is weakly linearly degenerate. Then some lower bounds of the life-span of classical solutions are given in the case that the system is weakly linearly degenerate. These estimates imply that, when the system is weakly linearly degenerate, the classical solution exists almost globally in time. In this paper, a populationgrowth model is considered with a discrete age-dependence and spatial diffusion, and isinvestigated in a semigroup framework. The spectral properties of the population oper-ator are given. On the basis of such spectral consideration, the asymptotic behaviourof the semigroup generated by the population operator is obtained. 5A deep seismic sounding profile across the Tianshan Mountains显示文摘The deep seismic sounding profile across the Tianshan Mountains revealed a two-layer crustal structure in the Tianshan region, namely the lower and upper crusts. Lateral variations of layer velocity and thickness are evidently shown. Low-velocity layers spread discontinuously at the bottom of the upper crust. The Mono depth is 47 km in the Kuytun area and 50 km in the Xayar area. In the Tianshan Mountains, the Moho becomes deeper with the maximum depth of 62 km around the boundary between the southern and northern Tianshan Mountains. The average velocity ranges from 6.1 to 6.3 km/s in the crust and 8.15 km/s at the top of the upper mantle. Two groups of reliable reflective seismic phases of the Moho (Pm1 and Pm2) are recognized on the shot record section of the Kuytun area. A staked and offset region, 20-30 km long, is displayed within a shot-geophone distance of 190-210 km in Pm1 and Pm2. 7The vernalization-induced long non-coding RNA VAS functions with the transcription factor TaRF2b to promote TaVRN1 expression for flowering in hexaploid wheat显示文摘Vernalization is a physiological process in which prolonged cold exposure establishes flowering competence in winter plants. In hexaploid wheat, TaVRN1 is a cold-induced key regulator that accelerates floral transition. However, the molecular mechanism underlying the gradual activation of TaVRN1 during the vernalization process remains unknown. In this study, we identified the novel transcript VAS (TaVRN1 alternative splicing) as a non-coding RNA derived from the sense strand of the TaVRN1 gene only in winter wheat, which regulates TaVRN1 transcription for flowering. VAS was induced during the early period of vernalization, and its overexpression promoted TaVRN1 expression to accelerate flowering in winter wheat. VAS physically associates with TaRF2b and facilitates docking of the TaRF2b-TaRF2a complex at the TaVRN1 promoter during the middle period of vernalization. TaRF2b recognizes the Sp1 motif within the TaVRN1 proximal promoter region, which is gradually exposed along with the disruption of a loop structure at the TaVRN1 locus during vernalization, to activate the transcription of TaVRN1. The tarf2b mutants exhibited delayed flowering, whereas transgenic wheat lines overexpressing TaRF2b showed earlier flowering. 9BOUNDARY FEEDBACK STABILIZATION OF NONUNIFORM TIMOSHENKO BEAM WITH A TIPLOAD显示文摘The boundary stabilization problem of a Timoshenko beam attached with a mass at one end is studied. First, with linear boundary force feedback and moment control simultaneously at the end attached with the load, the energy corresponding to the closed loop system is proven to be exponentially convergent to zero as time t →∞. 10A novel high resolution model without open boundary conditions applied to the China Seas: first investigation on tides显示文摘We developed a Global Ocean Circulation and Tide Model (GOCTM) with coarse grids in the open deep ocean degrading ‘smoothly’ into the highly resolved China Seas (CS) of refined grids to study the tides and circulation there.GOCTM is based on the framework of the Finite Volume approach for better mass conservation through improved transports across the discrete individual control volume.It also takes a full advantage of the geometric flexibility of unstructured mesh using a realistic global topography including the Arctic Ocean.The CS are given a special focus by refining the unstructured grids,but they are embedded into global domain naturally.Furthermore,GOCTM not only successfully avoids the treatment of the open boundaries,but also optimizes the trade-off between computational cost and model accuracy.Meanwhile,GOCTM is driven by the astronomical tide-generating potential and the secondary tide-generating potential directly,together with the wind stress and heat flux.GOCTM succeeds in reproducing the global eight principal tidal harmonic constants.Particularly,the simulated tidal results in the CS are improved compared to some other regional models with the discrepancy of 3.9 cm for M 2 tide.This idea of GOCTM can also be referred for other regional ocean study.YU Huaming CHEN Xueen BAO Xianwen Thomas Pohlmann WU Dexing 2010Acta Oceanologica Sinica2010,29,6:5

12Genome editing in plants with MAD7 nuclease显示文摘MAD7 is an engineered nuclease of the Class 2 type V-A CRISPR-Cas(Cas12 a/Cpf1)family with a low level of homology to canonical Cas12 a nucleases.It has been publicly released as a royalty-free nuclease for both academic and commercial use.Here,we demonstrate that the CRISPR-MAD7 system can be used for genome editing and recognizes T-rich PAM sequences(YTTN)in plants.Its editing efficiency in rice and wheat is comparable to that of the widely used CRISPR-Lb Cas12 a system.We develop two variants,MAD7-RR and MAD7-RVR that increase the target range of MAD7,as well as an M-AFID(a MAD7-APOBEC fusion-induced deletion)system that creates predictable deletions from 50-deaminated Cs to the MAD7-cleavage site.Moreover,we show that MAD7 can be used for multiplex gene editing and that it is effective in generating indels when combined with other CRISPR RNA orthologs.Using the CRISPR-MAD7 system,we have obtained regenerated mutant rice and wheat plants with up to 65.6%efficiency.Qiupeng Lin Zixu Zhu Guanwen Liu Chao Sun Dexing Lin Chenxiao Xue Shengnan Li Dandan Zhang Caixia Gao Yanpeng Wang Jin-Long Qiu 2021Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,6:4
13Contrast between the Climatic States of the Warm Pool in the Indian Ocean and in the Pacific Ocean显示文摘Based on the analysis of Levitus data, the climatic states of the warm pool in the Indian Ocean (WPIO) and in the Pacific Ocean (WPPO) are studied. It is found that WPIO has a relatively smaller area, a shallower bottom and a slightly lower seawater temperature than those of WPPO. The horizontal area at different depths, volumes, central positions, and bottom depths of both WPIO and WPPO show quite apparent signals of seasonal variation. The maximum amplitude of WPIO surface area’s seasonal variation is 58% larger over the annual mean value. WPIO’s maximum volume variation amplitude is 66% larger over the annual mean value. The maximum variation amplitudes of the surface area and volume of WPPO are 20. 9% and 20.6% larger over the annual mean value respectively. WPIO and WPPO show different temporal and spatial characteristics mainly due to the different wind fields and restriction of ocean basin geometry. For instance, seasonal northern displacement of WPIO is, to some extent, constrained by the basin of the Indian Ocean, while WPPO moves relatively freely in the longitudinal direction. 15New experimental method for inundation effect of film condensation on horizontal tube bundle显示文摘Theory of film condensation heat transfer(FCHT) for vapor condensed on horizontal tube bundle(HTB) is vital to many industry processes.Meanwhile,the inundation effect is the key to model the film condensation heat transfer coefficient(CHTC) on HTB.This paper proposed a new experimental method,homologous method,to obtain the inundation effect precisely.Based on the requirements of the new test method,a new test facility was designed and established.Then,the superiority of homologous method for inundation effect was investigated based on experiment result and theoretic analysis.The results showed that the homogenous method can effectively control the experimental error of inundation effect,which is less than 50% of the error of CHTC,and less than 30% of the error of the inundation effect gained by routine method.The new test facility built for the homogenous method is excellent in obtaining the accurate inundation effect of film condensation on HTB.All the result is a foundation of the theoretical development of the FCHT on HTB.MA ZhiXian ZHANG JiLi SUN DeXing 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,10:3
16Seasonal variations of air-sea heat fluxes and sea surface temperature in the northwestern Pacific marginal seas显示文摘Using a net surface heat flux(Qnet) product obtained from the objectively analyzed air-sea fluxes(OAFlux) project and the international satellite cloud climatology project(ISCCP), and temperature from the simple ocean data assimilation(SODA), the seasonal variations of the air-sea heat fluxes in the northwestern Pacific marginal seas(NPMS) and their roles in sea surface temperature(SST) seasonality are studied. The seasonal variations of Qnet, which is generally determined by the seasonal cycle of latent heat flux(LH), are in response to the advection-induced changes of SST over the Kuroshio and its extension. Two dynamic regimes are identified in the NPMS: one is the area along the Kuroshio and its extension, and the other is the area outside the Kuroshio. The oceanic thermal advection dominates the variations of SST and hence the sea-air humidity plays a primary role and explains the maximum heat losing along the Kuroshio. The heat transported by the Kuroshio leads to a longer period of heat losing over the Kuroshio and its Extension. Positive anomaly of heat content corresponds with the maximum heat loss along the Kuroshio. The oceanic advection controls the variations of heat content and hence the surface heat flux. This study will help us understand the mechanism controlling variations of the coupled ocean-atmosphere system in the NPMS. 19Time-periodic solutions of the Einstein's field equations Ⅲ:physical singularities显示文摘In this paper we construct a new time-periodic solution of the vacuum Einstein's field equations, this solution possesses physical singularities, i.e., the norm of the solution's Riemann curvature tensor takes the infinity at some points. We show that this solution is intrinsically time-periodic and describes a time-periodic universe with the 'time-periodic physical singularity'. 20Winter heat budget in the Huanghai Sea and the effect from Huanghai Warm Current (Yellow Sea Warm Current)显示文摘Four sources of surface heat flux (SHF) and the satellite remote sensing sea surface temperature (SST) data are combined to investigate the heat budget closure of the Huanghai Sea (HS) in winter.It is found that heat loss occurs all over the HS during winter and the area averaged heat content change decreases with a rate of-106 W/m 2.Comparing with the area averaged SHF of-150 W/m 2 from the four SHF data sets,it can be concluded that the SHF plays a dominant role in the HS heat budget during winter.In contrast,the heat advection transported by the Huanghai Warm Current (Yellow Sea Warm Current,HWC) accounted for up to 29% of the HS heat content change.Close correlation,especially in February,between the storm events and the SST increase demonstrates that the HWC behaves strongly as a wind-driven compensation current.QIAO Lulu WANG Xiaohua WANG Yongzhi WU Dexing BAO Xianwen MU Lin 2011Acta Oceanologica Sinica2011,30,5:2
