1'Charge while driving'for electric vehicles:road traffic modeling and energy assessment显示文摘The aim of this research study is to present a method for analyzing the performance of the wireless inductive charge-while-driving(CWD)electric vehicles, from both traffic and energy points of view.To accurately quantify the electric power required from an energy supplier for the proper management of the charging system,a traffic simulation model is implemented. This model is based on a mesoscopic approach, and it is applied to a freight distribution scenario.Lane changing and positioning are managed according to a cooperative system among vehicles and supported by advanced driver assistance systems(ADAS).From the energy point of view, the analyses indicate that the traffic may have the following effects on the energy of the system:in a low traffic level scenario, the maximum power that should be supplied for the entire road is simulated at approximately 9 MW;and in a high level traffic scenario with lower average speeds, the maximum power required by the vehicles in the charging lane increases by more than 50%.Francesco Paolo DEFLORIO Luca CASTELLO Ivano PINNA Paolo GUGLIELMI 2015Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2015,3,2:10

20Estimation of charging demand for electric vehicles by discrete choice models and numerical simulations: Application to a case study in Turin显示文摘The electrification of vehicles is considered one of the most important strategies for addressing the issues related to energy dependence and climate change. To meet user needs, electric vehicle(EV)management for charging operations is essential. This study uses modelling and simulation of EV user behaviour to forecast possible scenarios for electric charging in cities and to identify potential management problems and opportunities for improvement of EVs and EV charging infrastructures. The conurbation of Turin was selected as a case study to reproduce realistic scenarios by applying discrete choice modelling based on socio-economic and transport system data. One of objectives of the study was to describe user charging behaviour from a geographic perspective to model where users prefer to charge in the area studied according to the variables that may affect decisions.Another objective was to estimate the number of electric vehicles in Turin and the characteristics of their users, both of which are helpful in understanding electric mobility within a city.Analysing these behavioural issues in a modelling framework can provide a set of tools to compare and evaluate a variety of possible modifications, indicating an adequate network of charging infrastructure to facilitate the diffusion of electric vehicles.Lorenzo Sica Francesco Deflorio 2023Green Energy and Intelligent Transportation2023,2,2:0
