| 1 | Discovery and preclinical development of ⅢM-160, a Bergenia ciliatabased anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic botanical drug candidate显示文摘Objective: Bergenia ciliata(Haw.) Sternb. is used in the Indian traditional system of medicine to treat various ailments including rheumatism and to heal wounds. The objective of the present study was to perform a preclinical characterization of the B. ciliata-based botanical extract IIIM-160.Methods: ⅢM-160 was chemically standardized and analyzed for heavy metal content, aflatoxins,pesticides and microbial load. The in vitro and in vivo efficacies were determined in suitable models of inflammation, arthritis and nociception. An acute oral toxicity study was performed in Swiss albino mice.A suitable oral formulation was developed and characterized.Results: Bergenin was found to be the major component(9.1% w/w) of ⅢM-160. The botanical lead displayed inhibition of lipopolysaccharide-induced production of proinflammatory cytokines in THP-1 cells, with selectivity toward interleukin-6(IL-6) and had an excellent safety-window. It showed anti-inflammatory, anti-arthritic and antinociceptive activity in animal models and was not toxic at oral doses up to 2 g/kg in Swiss-albino mice. The gastroretentive, sustained-release capsule formulation showed sustained-release of the bergenin over the period of 24 h, resulting in improved plasma-exposure of bergenin in Sprague–Dawley rats.Conclusion: The dual-activity of IL-6 inhibition and antinociception marks the suitability of ⅢM-160 for treating rheumatoid arthritis. | 2 | Deep Learning Based Automated Detection of Diseases from Apple Leaf Images显示文摘In Agriculture Sciences, detection of diseases is one of the mostchallenging tasks. The mis-interpretations of plant diseases often lead towrong pesticide selection, resulting in damage of crops. Hence, the automaticrecognition of the diseases at earlier stages is important as well as economicalfor better quality and quantity of fruits. Computer aided detection (CAD)has proven as a supportive tool for disease detection and classification, thusallowing the identification of diseases and reducing the rate of degradationof fruit quality. In this research work, a model based on convolutional neuralnetwork with 19 convolutional layers has been proposed for effective andaccurate classification of Marsonina Coronaria and Apple Scab diseases fromapple leaves. For this, a database of 50,000 images has been acquired bycollecting images of leaves from apple farms of Himachal Pradesh (H.P)and Uttarakhand (India). An augmentation technique has been performedon the dataset to increase the number of images for increasing the accuracy.The performance analysis of the proposed model has been compared with thenew two Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models having 8 and 9 layersrespectively. The proposed model has also been compared with the standardmachine learning classifiers like support vector machine, k-Nearest Neighbour, Random Forest and Logistic Regression models. | 10 | Deep Learning Based Automated Diagnosis of Skin Diseases Using Dermoscopy显示文摘Biomedical image analysis has been exploited considerably by recent technology involvements,carrying about a pattern shift towards‘automation’and‘error free diagnosis’classification methods with markedly improved accurate diagnosis productivity and cost effectiveness.This paper proposes an automated deep learning model to diagnose skin disease at an early stage by using Dermoscopy images.The proposed model has four convolutional layers,two maxpool layers,one fully connected layer and three dense layers.All the convolutional layers are using the kernel size of 3∗3 whereas the maxpool layer is using the kernel size of 2∗2.The dermoscopy images are taken from the HAM10000 dataset.The proposed model is compared with the three different models of ResNet that are ResNet18,ResNet50 and ResNet101.The models are simulated with 32 batch size and Adadelta optimizer.The proposed model has obtained the best accuracy value of 0.96 whereas the ResNet101 model has obtained 0.90,the ResNet50 has obtained 0.89 and the ResNet18 model has obtained value as 0.86.Therefore,features obtained from the proposed model are more capable for improving the classification performance of multiple skin disease classes.This model can be used for early diagnosis of skin disease and can also act as a second opinion tool for dermatologists. | Vatsala Anand Sheifali Gupta Deepika Koundal Shubham Mahajan Amit Kant Pandit Atef Zaguia | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,5: | 0 |
| 11 | BE-SONOS flash memory along with metal gate and high-k dielectrics in tunnel barrier and its impact on charge retention dynamics显示文摘We investigate the effect of a high-k dielectric in the tunnel layer to improve the erase speed-retention trade-off. Here, the proposed stack in the tunnel layer is AlLaO_3/Hf AlO/SiO_2. These proposed materials possess low valence band offset with high permittivity to improve both the erase speed and retention time in barrier engineered silicon-oxide-nitride-oxide-silicon(BE-SONOS). In the proposed structure Hf Al O and AlLaO_3 replace Si_3N_4 and the top SiO_2 layer in a conventional oxide/nitride/oxide(ONO) tunnel stack. Due to the lower conduction band offset(CBO) and high permittivity of the proposed material in the tunnel layer, it offers better program/erase(P/E) speed and retention time. In this work the gate length is also scaled down from 220 to 55 nm to observe the effect of high-k materials while scaling, for the same equivalent oxide thickness(EOT). We found that the scaling down of the gate length has a negligible impact on the memory window of the devices. Hence, various investigated tunnel oxide stacks possess a good memory window with a charge retained up to 87.4%(at room temperature) after a period of ten years.
