| 1 | A Survey of 16 Rare Earth Elements in the Major Foods in China显示文摘Objective The aim of this survey was to inves gate the level of contamina on of the most consumed foods in China with 16 rare earth elements (REEs),and to provide the basic data for establishing and revising food safety standards for REEs.Methods Sixteen REEs in foods were measured by induc vely coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) in the labs of the Centers for Disease Control and Preven on of four provinces and two municipali es,during 2009-2010.Results 1 231 samples were analyzed and 19 121 concentra on data of 16 REEs were collected.The REEs levels in the inves gated foods varied significantly.The concentra ons of cerium (Ce),dysprosium (Dy),y rium (Y),lanthanum (La),and neodymium (Nd) were rela vely high,while the remaining eleven REEs were at low levels.The mean values of total rare earth element oxides (REOs) in cereals,fresh vegetables,fresh aqua c products,fresh meats and eggs varied from 0.052 mg/kg to 0.337 mg/kg.Conclusion 16 REEs in the major foods were at very low contamina on levels in the inves gated regions. | JIANG Ding Guo YANG Jie ZHANG Shuo YANG Da Jin | 2012 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,3: | 28 |
| 2 | Optimization design and analysis of Si-^(63)Ni betavoltaic battery显示文摘Among the various micro-powers being investigated, betavoltaic batteries are very attractive for numerous applications because of their advantages of high energy density, long life, strong anti-interference, and so on. Based on the basic principle of the betavoltaic effect, the current paper adopted the Monte Carlo N-Particle code to simulate the transport processes of β particles in semiconductor materials and to establish the calculation formulas for nuclear radiation-generated current, open circuit voltage, and so on. By discussing the effect of minority carrier diffusion length, doping concentration, and junction depth on the property of batteries, the present work concluded that the best parameters for batteries are the use of silicon and the radioisotope Ni-63, i.e., Ni-63 with a mass thickness of 1 mg/cm2, Na=1×1019 cm-3, Nd=3.16×1016 cm-3, junction area of 1 cm2, junction depth of 0.3 μm, and so on. Under these parameters the short-circuit current, open circuit voltage, output power, and conversion efficiency are 573.3 nA, 0.253 V, 99.85 nW, and 4.94%, respectively. | 6 | Construction of a small-caliber tissue-engineered blood vessel using icariin-loaded β-cyclodextrin sulfate for in situ anticoagulation and endothelialization显示文摘The rapid endothelialization of tissue-engineered blood vessels(TEBVs) can effectively prevent thrombosis and inhibit intimal hyperplasia. The traditional Chinese medicine ingredient icariin is highly promising for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.β-cyclodextrin sulfate is a type of hollow molecule that has good biocompatibility and anticoagulation properties and exhibits a sustained release of icariin. We studied whether icariin-loaded β-cyclodextrin sulfate can promote the endothelialization of TEBVs. The experimental results showed that icariin could significantly promote the proliferation and migration of endothelial progenitor cells; at the same time, icariin could promote the migration of rat vascular endothelial cells(RAVECs). Subsequently,we used an electrostatic force to modify the surface of the TEBVs with icariin-loaded β-cyclodextrin sulfate, and these vessels were implanted into the rat common carotid artery. After 3 months, micro-CT results showed that the TEBVs modified using icariin-loaded β-cyclodextrin sulfate had a greater patency rate. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and CD31 immunofluorescence results showed a better degree of endothelialization. | 9 | Granular porous calcium carbonate particles for scalable and high-performance solar-driven thermochemical heat storage显示文摘Calcium carbonate is promising thermochemical heat storage material for next-generation solar power systems due to its high energy storage density,low cost,and high operation temperature.Researchers have tried to improve energy storage performances of calcium carbonate recently,but most researches focus on powders,which are not suitable for scalable applications.Here,novel granular porous calcium carbonate particles with very high solar absorptance,energy storage density,abrasive resistances,and energy storage rate are proposed for direct solar thermochemical heat storage.The average solar absorptance is improved by 234%compared with ordinary particles.Both cycle stability and abrasive resistances are excellent with almost no decay of energy storage density over 25 cycles nor apparent particle weight loss over 24 h of continuous operation insides a planetary ball mill.In addition,the decomposition temperature is reduced by 2.8%–5.6%while the reaction rate of heat storage is enhanced by 80%–205%depending on the CO_(2) partial pressure.The decomposition process of doped granular porous CaCO_(3) particles is found to involve three overlapping processes.This work provides new routes to achieve scalable direct solar thermochemical heat storage for next-generation high-temperature solar power systems. | SONG Chao LIU XiangLei XUAN YiMin ZHENG HangBin GAO Ke TENG Liang DA Yun LI Chuan LI YongLiang DING YuLong | 2021 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,10: | 4 |
