1Serum containing Tongqiaohuoxue decoction suppresses glutamate-induced PC12 cell injury显示文摘Glutamate application is an established method of inducing PC12 cell injury. PC12 cells were cultured with serum containing Tongqiaohuoxue decoction consisting of moschus, Carthamus tinctorius, Rhizoma chuanxiong, Semen pruni persicae, and Radix Paeoniae Rubra. After 24 hours of co-cultivation, glutamate (12.5 mM) was added to the culture medium. We found that serum containing Tongqiaohuoxue decoction prevented the increase in reactive oxygen species, and the decreases in superoxide dismutase and Na+-K+-ATPase activity, induced by glutamate. It also reduced the concentration of malondialdehyde, enhanced the mitochondrial transmembrane potential, inhibited the elevation of cellular calcium, and decreased phosphorylation of calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II. 10Environmentally persistent free radicals in PM_(2.5):a review显示文摘Environmentally persistent free radicals(EPFRs)are a new class of pollutants that are long-lived in fine particles(PM_(2.5)),i.e.,their 1/e lifetime ranges from days to months(or even infinite).They are capable of producing harmful reactive oxygen species such as hydroxyl radicals.The redox cycling of EPFRs is considered as an important pathway for PM_(2.5) to induce oxidative stress inside the humans,causing adverse health effects such as respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.Conse-quently,research regarding their toxicity,formation and environmental occurrences in PM_(2.5) has attracted increasing atten-tions globally during the past two decades.However,literature data in this field remain quite limited and discrete.Hence,an extensive review is urgently needed to summarize the current understanding of this topic.In this work,we systematically reviewed the analytical methods and environmental occurrences,e.g.,types,concentrations,and decay behaviors,as well as possible sources of EPFRs in PM_(2.5).The types of pretreatment methods,g-values of common EPFRs and categories of decay processes were discussed in detail.Moreover,great efforts were made to revisit the original data of the published works of EPFRs in airborne particulate matter and provided additional useful information for comparison where possible,e.g.,their mean and standard deviation of g-values,line widths(ΔHp-p),and concentrations.Finally,possible research opportunities were highlighted to further advance our knowledge of this emerging issue.Mengxia Xu Tao Wu Yu-Ting Tang Tong Chen Lavrent Khachatryan Poornima Ramesh Iyer Dengting Guo Anran Chen Miao Lyu Jinhu Li Jiaqi Liu Dan Li Yuxin Zuo Shihan Zhang Yiran Wang Yining Meng Fei Qi 2019Waste Disposal and Sustainable Energy2019,1,3:0
11Wave uplift force on horizontal panels: a laboratory study显示文摘Accurate estimation of wave uplift force is essential to the designs of reliable coastal and marine structures.We presents a series of laboratory work here on the impact of regular waves on horizontal panels,from which an empirical formula to estimate accurately the wave uplift force on panels is established.The laboratory measurements show that the wave uplift force depends mainly on the incident wave height,the wave period,the wave length,the panel width,and the clearance between the subsurface of the panel and the still water level.Among these factors,the impact of the panel width on uplift forces is relatively complicated.Result shows that the relative panel width(i.e.,the ratio of panel width to wave length)plays a more important role in estimating the wave uplift force.Based on our comprehensive laboratory measurements,we further developed an empirical formula to compute wave uplift force on horizontal panels through dimensionless analysis.Compared with other empirical formulas,this formula uses dimensionless variables of clear physical meanings,thus can describe the interaction between waves and the panels in a better way.In addition,the efficiency of the formula to estimate wave uplift force on horizontal panels is verified against existing works.Therefore,the findings in this study shall be useful for understanding the mechanism of wave uplift force on horizontal panels and numerical model validation.LIU Qingjun SUN Tianting WANG Dengting WEI Zhangping 2019Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2019,37,6:0
12Stable-thickness study of masonry block on the inner slope of dikes显示文摘Dike failure caused by overtopping is likely to result in major casualties and property losses.Aiming at this fact,a series of physical model experiments were conducted on stable thickness of masonry block on the inner slope of the dike.According to the erosion of block embankment with different thicknesses,the relation between the stable thickness of masonry block pitching of the inner slope and the average overtopping discharge is discussed.New equations subject to irregular waves are presented for average overtopping discharge,based upon the analysis of mean overtopping discharge and comparison of present overtopping discharge formulas at domestic and abroad.Finally,a calculation equation of the stable thickness of the dry masonry block stone of inner slope subject to irregular waves is given.In conclusion,the formula matches well with the experiment result,which is capable of functioning as an important reference for structure designs of the dike in China.SUN Tianting LIU Qingjun WANG Dengting 2019Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2019,37,6:0
