2Free-space realization of tunable pin-like optical vortex beams显示文摘We demonstrate,both analytically and experimentally,free-space pin-like optical vortex beams (POVBs). Such angular-momentum-carrying beams feature tunable peak intensity and undergo robust antidiffracting propagation,realized by judiciously modulating both the amplitude and the phase profile of a standard laser beam.Specifically,they are generated by superimposing a radially symmetric power-law phase on a helical phase structure,which allows the inclusion of an orbital angular momentum term to the POVBs. During propagation in free space,these POVBs initially exhibit autofocusing dynamics,and subsequently their amplitude patterns morph into a high-order Bessel-like profile characterized by a hollow core and an annular main lobe with a constant or tunable width during propagation. In contrast with numerous previous endeavors on Bessel beams,our work represents the first demonstration of long-distance free-space generation of optical vortex 'pins' with their peak intensity evolution controlled by the impressed amplitude structure. 3Roles of Te and Mn in the two phases of manganite with nominal composition La_(0.6)Sr_(0.1)Te_xMnO_3显示文摘Powder samples with nominal composition La0.6Sr0.1TexMnO3 (x = 0.00, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20) were prepared using the sol-gel method with thermal treatment up to 1473 K. On the basis of powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric and magnetic measurements, it was found that almost all of the Te and a few of the Mn ions were lost from the samples when they were calcined at 1473 K. 4Intrusions of Kuroshio and Shelf Waters on Northern Slope of South China Sea in Summer 2015显示文摘The northern slope region of the South China Sea(SCS) is a biological hot spot characterized by high primary productivity and biomasses transported by cross-shelf currents, which support the spawning and growth of commercially and ecologically important fish species. To understand the physical and biogeochemical processes that promote the high primary production of this region, we conducted a cruise from June 10 and July 2, 2015. In this study, we used fuzzy cluster analysis and optimum multiparameter analysis methods to analyze the hydrographic data collected during the cruise to determine the compositions of the upper 55-m water masses on the SCS northern slope and thereby elucidate the cross-slope transport of shelf water(SHW) and the intrusions of Kuroshio water(KW). We also analyzed the geostrophic currents derived from acoustic Doppler current profiler measurements and satellite data. The results reveal the surface waters on the northern slope of the SCS to be primarily composed of waters originating from South China Sea water(SCSW), KW, and SHW. The SCSW dominated a majority of the study region at percentages ranging between 60% and 100%. 5Pigeon Robot for Navigation Guided by Remote Control:System Construction and Functional Verification显示文摘Animal robots have outstanding advantages over traditional robots in their own energy supplies,orientation,and natural concealment,delivering significant value in the theories and applications of neural science,national security,and other fields.Presently,many animal robots have been fabricated,but researches about the applications of avian robots are still lacking.In this study,we constructed a Pigeon Robot System(PRS),optimized the electric stimulation parameters,assessed the electric stimulus of navigation,and evaluated the navigation efficiency in the field.Biphasic pulse constant current pattern was adapted,and the optimal stimulus parameters of 4 nuclei tested were of amplitude 0.3 mA,5 pulse trains,frequency 25 Hz,5 pulses,and a 25%duty cycle.Effective ratio of left and right steering behavior response to electric stimulus dorsointermedius ventralis anterior nuclei was 67%and 83%,respectively(mean value 75%).Electrical stimulation efficiency was 0.34-0.68 and path efficiency was 0.72-0.85 among pigeon robot individuals in the open field.Neither electrical stimulation efficiency nor path efficiency differed significantly(P>0.05),suggesting that the navigational PRS performance was not biased in either direction.PRS can achieve continuous navigation along simple pathways and provide the necessary application infrastructure and technical reference for the development of animal robot navigation technology.Zhengyue Zhou Denghui Liu Hong Sun Wenbo Xu Xinmao Tian Xiaoyuan Li Han Cheng Zhenlong Wang 2021Journal of Bionic Engineering2021,18,1:1

7Assisting effect of Al_(2)O_(3) on MnO_(x) for NO catalytic oxidation显示文摘Various Mn-based catalysts for NO oxidation were prepared using MnO_(x)as active compound,while Ti O_(2)and Al_(2)O_(3)were adopted as catalyst support.The performance of the catalysts was tested to study the effect of support on Mn-based catalyst activity.Performance of the catalysts followed as Mn_(0.4)/Al>Mn_(0.2)/Al>Mn_(0.4)/Ti>Mn_(0.2)/Ti>MnO_(x)>Al_(2)O_(3)on the whole,indicating the synergism of MnO_(x)and Al_(2)O_(3)for NO catalytic oxidation.Results were analyzed according to characterization data.Adsorbed oxygen on catalyst rather than lattice oxygen was detected as the active oxidizer for NO oxidation.As catalyst support,Al_(2)O_(3)provided more sites to carry surface adsorbed oxygen than TiO_(2),resulting in the presence of more active oxygen on Mn O_(x)/Al_(2)O_(3)than on MnO_(x)/TiO_(2).Moreover,MnO_(x)/Al_(2)O_(3)possessed high surface area and pore volume,which greatly benefited the adsorption of NO on catalyst and further favored the oxidation of NO by active oxygen.All these advantages helped Mn_(0.4)/Al exhibited the best catalytic efficiency.Denghui Wang Hui Li Qi Yao Shien Hui Yanqing Niu 2021Green Energy & Environment2021,6,6:1
8Intercellular transfer of activated STING triggered by RAB22A-mediated non-canonical autophagy promotes antitumor immunity显示文摘STING,an endoplasmic reticulum(ER)transmembrane protein,mediates innate immune activation upon cGAMP stimulation and is degraded through autophagy.Here,we report that activated STING could be transferred between cells to promote antitumor immunity,a process triggered by RAB22A-mediated non-canonical autophagy.Mechanistically,RAB22A engages PI4K2A to generate PI4P that recruits the Atg12–Atg5–Atg16L1 complex,inducing the formation of ER-derived RAB22A-mediated non-canonical autophagosome,in which STING activated by agonists or chemoradiotherapy is packaged.This RAB22A-induced autophagosome fuses with RAB22A-positive early endosome,generating a new organelle that we name Rafeesome(RAB22A-mediated non-canonical autophagosome fused with early endosome).Meanwhile,RAB22A inactivates RAB7 to suppress the fusion of Rafeesome with lysosome,thereby enabling the secretion of the inner vesicle of the autophagosome bearing activated STING as a new type of extracellular vesicle that we define as R-EV(RAB22A-induced extracellular vesicle).Activated STING-containing R-EVs induce IFNβrelease from recipient cells to the tumor microenvironment,promoting antitumor immunity.Consistently,RAB22A enhances the antitumor effect of the STING agonist diABZI in mice,and a high RAB22A level predicts good survival in nasopharyngeal cancer patients treated with chemoradiotherapy.Our findings reveal that Rafeesome regulates the intercellular transfer of activated STING to trigger and spread antitumor immunity,and that the inner vesicle of non-canonical autophagosome originated from ER is secreted as R-EV,providing a new perspective for understanding the intercellular communication of organelle membrane proteins.Ying Gao Xueping Zheng Boyang Chang Yujie Lin Xiaodan Huang Wen Wang Shirong Ding Weixiang Zhan Shang Wang Beibei Xiao Lanqing Huo Youhui Yu Yilin Chen Run Gong Yuanzhong Wu Ruhua Zhang Li Zhong Xin Wang Qiuyan Chen Song Gao Zhengfan Jiang Denghui Wei Tiebang Kang 2022Cell Research2022,32,12:1
9Symbolic dynamics of Belykh-type maps显示文摘The symbolic dynamics of a Belykh-type map(a two-dimensional discontinuous piecewise linear map) is investigated. The admissibility condition for symbol sequences named the pruning front conjecture is proved under a hyperbolicity condition.Using this result, a symbolic dynamics model of the map is constructed according to its pruning front and primary pruned region. 10Detection and characteristics analysis of the western subarctic front using the high-resolution SST product显示文摘Oceanic front plays a significant role in the ocean vertical mixing and the regulation of air-sea interaction,among others.The western branch of the subarctic front(WSAF)located in the Northwest Pacific has attained lots of attention given its strong intensity and widespread influence on this region.In this study,we take advantage of the merged sea surface temperature(SST)at a high spatial resolution of 0.05°to investigate the characteristics of WSAF.The front detection algorithm that combines the Sobel operator and histogram analysis is adopted.It is advantageous in both preserving the front intensity represented by the SST gradient as well as reducing the detection noise level.We systematically applied this algorithm to the daily SST products for front detection,based on which the WSAF characteristics including its intensity,occurrence of frequency,latitudinal position and coverage area are then extracted.WSAF is mostly located within a small latitude range between 40°N and 41°N with a clear seasonal trend in its intensity that peaks in the winter and troughs in the summer.The seasonal variation of WSAF intensity is almost consistent throughout the temporal period of interest from 2010 to 2018.Similar seasonality is observed for its occurrence of frequency with the winter-summer contrast reaching up to5%.The findings presented here shall help better interpret the WSAF characteristics in the long-term run as well as their impact on the regional weather and climate patterns at high spatial resolution.Changyuan Chen Chen Wang Huimin Li Denghui Hu Gang Li Xin Chen Yijun He 2023Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,6:0
11Different coding characteristics between flight and freezing in dorsal periaqueductal gray of mice during exposure to innate threats显示文摘Background:Flight and freezing are two vital defensive behaviors that mice display to avoid natural enemies.When they are exposed to innate threats,visual cues are processed and transmitted by the visual system into the emotional nuclei and finally transmitted to the periaqueductal gray(PAG)to induce defensive behaviors.However,how the dorsal PAG(dPAG)encodes the two defensive behaviors is unclear.Methods:Multi-array electrodes were implanted in the dPAG nuclei of C57BL/6 mice.Two kinds of visual stimuli(looming and sweeping)were used to induce defensive behaviors in mice.Neural signals under different defense behaviors were recorded,and the encoding characteristics of the two behaviors were extracted and analyzed from spike firing and frequency oscillations.Finally,synchronization of neural activity during the defense process was analyzed.Results:The neural activity between flight and freezing behaviors showed different firing patterns,and the differences in the inter-spike interval distribution were mainly reflected in the 2–10 ms period.The frequency band activities under both defensive behaviors were concentrated in the theta band;the active frequency of flight was~8to 10 Hz,whereas that of freezing behavior was~6 to 8 Hz.The network connection density under both defense behaviors was significantly higher than the period before and after defensive behavior occurred,indicating that there was a high synchronization of neural activity during the defense process.Conclusions:The dPAG nuclei of mice have different coding features between flight and freezing behaviors;during strong looming stimulation,fast neuro-i nstinctive decision making is required while encountering weak sweeping stimulation,and computable planning late behavior is predicted in the early stage.The frequency band activities under both defensive behaviors were concentrated in the theta band.There was a high synchronization of neural activity during the defense process,which may be a key factor triggering different defensive behaviors.Denghui Liu Shouhao Li Liqing Ren Xinyu Liu Xiaoyuan Li Zhenlong Wang 2022Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2022,5,6:0
12Oxygen-deficient TiO_(2) Yolk-shell Spheres for Enhanced Lithium Storage Properties显示文摘Anatase TiO_(2) is a promising anode material for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)owing to its low cost and stability.However,the intrinsically kinetic limits seriously hindered its lithium-ion storage capability.Here we present that anatase TiO_(2) with rich oxygen vacancies can enhance its lithium-ion storage performance.We synthesize anatase TiO_(2) with well-retained hierarchical structure by annealing the H_(2)Ti_(5)O_(11)·3H_(2)O yolk-shell spheres precursor in nitrogen atmosphere.EPR and XPS data evidence that the oxygen-deficient environment could generate abundant oxygen vacancies in the as-derived anatase TiO_(2),which leads to improved electron conductivity and reduced charge-transfer resistance.The rich oxygen vacancies and high structural integrity of the hierarchical yolk-shell spheres enable the as-derived anatase TiO_(2) yolk-shell spheres with a high specific capacity of 280 mAh g^(-1) at 100 mA g^(-1) and 71%of capacity retention after 5000 cycles at 2 A g^(-1).Zhaoqian Li Yuqi Peng Chaofeng Liu Xianxi Zhang Xiuling Li Yang Huang Yingke Ren Denghui Ji Guozhong Cao 2022Energy & Environmental Materials2022,5,1:0
13MFN2 suppresses clear cell renal cell carcinoma progression by modulating mitochondria-dependent dephosphorylation of EGFR显示文摘Background:Clear cell renal cell carcinoma(ccRCC)is the most lethal renal cancer.An overwhelming increase of patients experience tumor progression and unfavorable prognosis.However,the molecular events underlying ccRCC tumorigenesis and metastasis remain unclear.Therefore,uncovering the underlying mechanisms will pave the way for developing novel therapeutic targets for ccRCC.In this study,we sought to investigate the role of mitofusin-2(MFN2)in supressing ccRCC tumorigenesis and metastasis.Methods:The expression pattern and clinical significance of MFN2 in ccRCC were analyzed by using the Cancer Genome Atlas datasets and samples from our independent ccRCC cohort.Both in vitro and in vivo experiments,including cell proliferation,xenograft mouse models and transgenic mouse model,were used to determine the role of MFN2 in regulating the malignant behaviors of ccRCC.RNA-sequencing,mass spectrum analysis,co-immunoprecipitation,bio-layer interferometry and immunofluorescence were employed to elucidate the molecular mechanisms for the tumor-supressing role of MFN2.Results:we reported a tumor-suppressing pathway in ccRCC,characterized by mitochondria-dependent inactivation of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)signaling.This process was mediated by the outer mitochondrial membrane(OMM)protein MFN2.MFN2 was down-regulated in ccRCC and associated with favorable prognosis of ccRCC patients.in vivo and in vitro assays demonstrated thatMFN2 inhibited ccRCC tumor growth and metastasis by suppressing the EGFR signaling pathway.In a kidney-specific knockout mouse model,loss of MFN2 led to EGFR pathway activation and malignant lesions in kidney.Mechanistically,MFN2 preferably binded small GTPaseRab21 in its GTPloading form,which was colocalized with endocytosed EGFR in ccRCC cells.Through this EGFR-Rab21-MFN2 interaction,endocytosed EGFR was docked to mitochondria and subsequently dephosphorylated by the OMM-residing tyrosine-protein phosphatase receptor type J(PTPRJ).Conclusions:Our findings uncover an important non-canonicalmitochondriadependent pathway regulating EGFR signaling by the Rab21-MFN2-PTPRJ axis,which contributes to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for ccRCC.Li Luo Denghui Wei Yihui Pan Qiu-Xia Wang Jian-Xiong Feng Bing Yu Tiebang Kang Junhang Luo Jiefeng Yang Song Gao 2023Cancer Communications2023,43,7:0

15Metal-atom-doped W_(18)O_(49) nanowires for electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction in alkaline medium显示文摘Non-noble transition metal oxides(TMOs)are promising catalysts with improved catalytic activity and stability in oxygen evolution reaction(OER).However,the structural complexity of TMO-based electrocatalysts renders the determination of the active sites and OER mechanisms challenging.Here,we demonstrate that the OER activity of Co-doped one-dimensional W_(18)O_(49)(Co-W_(18)O_(49))is intrinsically dominated by the surface structure and electronic properties of the octahedral sites and Co-O-W bonds.Compared with RuO_(2) and W_(18)O_(49) heterogeneous electrocatalysts,Co-W_(18)O_(49) exhibits higher turnover frequency,attaining 1.97 s−1 at 500 mV overpotential.The results indicate that Co substitution contributes to the localized charge distribution of the active octahedral sites constructed by the Co-O-W bonds under OER conditions.Here,we determine the mechanism of TMOs for the OER,which may be applied to various other TMOs for OER electrocatalyst design.Liangbo Xie Long Hai Yuan Meng Wenwen Zheng Huapu Hu Denghui Shang Ke Shao Cailing Zhang Yi Li 2023ChemPhysMater2023,2,2:0
