| 1 | Prevalence and evolution of drug resistance HIV-1 variants in Henan, China显示文摘To understand the prevalence and evolution of drug resistant HIV strains in Henan China after the implementation of free antiretroviral therapy for AIDS patients. 45 drug nave AIDS patients, 118 AIDS patients who received three months antiretroviral therapy and 124 AIDS patients who received six months antiretroviral treatment were recruited in the southern part of Henan province. Information on general condition, antiretroviral medicines, adherence and clinical syndromes were collected by face to face interview. Meanwhile, 14ml EDTA anticoagulant blood was drawn. CD4/CD8 T cell count, viral load and genotypic drug resistance were tested. The rates of clinical improvement were 55.1% and 50.8% respectively three months and six months after antiretroviral therapy. The mean CD4 cell count after antiretroviral therapy was significantly higher than in drug nave patients. The prevalence rate of drug resistant HIV strains were 13. 9%, 45.4% and 62.7% in drug nave patients, three month treatment patients and six month treatment patients, respectively. The number of resistance mutation codons and the frequency of mutations increased significantly with continued antiretroviral therapy. The mutation sites were primarily at the 103, 106 and 215 codons in the three-month treatment group and they increased to 15 codon mutations in the six-month treatment group. From this result, the evolution of drug resistant strains was inferred to begin with the high level NNRTI resistant strain, and then develop low level resistant strains to NRTIs. The HIV strains with high level resistance to NVP and low level resistance to AZT and DDI were highly prevalent because of the AZT+DDI+NVP combination therapy. These HIV strains were also cross resistant to DLV, EFV, DDC and D4T. Poor adherence to therapy was believed to be the main reason for the emergence and prevalence of drug resistant HIV strains. The prevalence of drug resistant HIV strains was increased with the continu- ation of antiretroviral therapy in the southern part of Henan province. | 2 | AtbHLH29 of Arabidopsis thaliana is a functional ortholog of tomato FER involved in controlling iron acquisition in strategy I plants显示文摘AtbHLH29 of Arabidopsis, encoding a bHLH protein, reveals a high similarity to the tomato FER which is proposed as a transcriptional regulator involved in controlling the iron deficiency responses and the iron uptake in tomato. For identification of its biological functions, AtbHLH29 was introduced into the genome of the tomato FER mutant T3238fer mediated by Agrobacterium tumefaciencs. Transgenic plants were regenerated and the stable integration of AtbHLH29 into their genomes was confirmed by Southern hybridization. Molecular analysis demonstrated that expression of the exogenous AtbHLH29 of Arabidopsis in roots of the FER mutant T3238fer enabled to complement the defect functions of FER. The transgenic plants regained the ability to activate the whole iron deficiency responses and showed normal growth as the wild type under iron-limiting stress. Our transformation data demonstrate that AtbHLH29 is a functional ortholog of the tomato FER and can completely replace FER in controlling the effective iron acquisition in tomato. Except of iron, FER protein was directly or indirectly involved in manganese homeostasis due to that loss functions of FER in T3238fer resulted in strong reduction of Mn content in leaves and the defect function on Mn accumulation in leaves was complemented by expression of AtbHLH29 in the transgenic plants. | 7 | Efficacy of intra- tumor injection of Kang-Lai-Te in treating transplanted hepatoma in rats显示文摘BACKGROUND: Non-operative therapy takes an impor- tant position in comprehensive therapy of liver cancer. De- spite some effects by using ethanol, acetic acid and heat sa- line for intra-tumor injection in the treatment of liver canc- er, it is difficult to attain a complete cure but bring about injury to the liver to some extent. Hence, searching for other drugs for the local treatment of liver tumor is an im- portant option. This study was designed to set up rat mo- dels of transplanted liver cancer, intra-tumor injection of Kang-Lai-Te (KLT), and negative control (saline) and positive control (ethanol). The effect of intra-tumor injec- tion of KLT in treating transplanted hepatoma in rats and its advantages and disadvantages were assessed and the pos- sibility of its use in treating patients with liver cancer was evaluated. METHODS: Forty rats were divided into 4 groups ( G1, G2, G3 and G4, 10 rats in each group). Different drugs were injected into their implanted hepatoma (G1 with 0.2 ml saline as control, G2 with 10 mg KLT, G3 with 20 mg KLT, G4 with 0.2 ml ethanol). After 3 and 8 days, the hepa- toma volume (HV), the serum levels of albumin, alanine aminotransferase(ALT), aspartate aminotransferase alkaline phosphatase( ALP) and creatinine, as well as the expression of proliferation cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in hepatoma were detected. RESULTS: After 3 days, the HVs were smaller in G3 and G4 than in G1 (P <0.05), the serum levels of albumin were higher in G2 and G3 than in Gl and G4 (P <0.05), the se- rum levels of ALT and AST were lower in G2 and G3 than in G4 (P<0.05), the serum levels of ALP was lower in G2 and G3 than in Gl and G4 (P <0. 05), the PCNA labeling indexes (PCNA LI) were lower in G2 and G3 than in Gl and GA (P <0.05). After 8 days, the HVs were smaller in G2, G3 and G4 than in Gl (P <0.05), and the differences of HVs among G2, G3 and G4 were not significant. The serum levels of ALP were lower in G1, G2 and G3 than in G4 (P <0.05), and the PCNA LI were lower in G3 than in Gl andG4 (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Intra-tumor injection of KLT into implan- ted hepatoma is evidently effective, but it is less effective than ethanol. | 8 | Status and distribution changes of the endangered Green Peafowl (Pavo muticus) in China over the past three decades (1990s-2017)显示文摘Background: Understanding the changes in population dynamics, including demographics, distribution and threats, is essential for species status assessing. The endangered Green Peafowl(Pavo muticus) has experienced sharp population declines and distribution range diminishing both in China and Southeast Asia. Field population surveys have not been conducted in China since the 1990 s, which hindered conservation planning and decision-making.Methods: With interview and line transects methods, we figured out the population and distribution changes of Green Peafowl across its historical ranges over the past three decades in China during 2014-2017.Results: The Green Peafowl once habituated in 54 counties in China. Nearly 60% of the distribution counties were lost in the past three decades, with the left 22 counties distributed in central, southern and western Yunnan, SW China. Population decrease detected in all distribution areas except for Shuangbai and Xinping county where more than 60% of the total population is located. Only about 30% of the former bird population were recorded with the same interviewing method as 20 years ago. Three birds, 1 carcass, 6 calls and 12 footprints were detected along the 865 km line transects, indic-ating extremely low encounter rate of Green Peafowl in field. Sharp decreases in flock sizes were also detected, from 820 birds per flock in the 1990 s to 3-5 birds at present. Poaching and habitat conversion are two widespread and long-lasting threats, while poisoning caused mortality in the past and hydropower construction affect regional population's survival. Large flocks of 18–27 birds were discovered in the field, which increases our confidence of population recovery of this endangered pheasant in China.Conclusions: Only interviewed bird number and counts based on line transects were presented in this study, without further population estimation due to limitation of the data sets. | 12 | Temporal echocardiography findings in patients with fulminant myocarditis: beyond ejection fraction decline显示文摘The features of myocardial strains from speckle-tracking echocardiography (STE) have not been well defined in fulminant myocarditis (FM) patients.In this study,changes in the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and global and layer-specific myocardial strains over time were monitored.We aimed to determine the echocardiographic patterns of FM and ascertain their significance in FM treatment.Twenty patients who were clinically diagnosed with FM and received mechanical life support were prospectively enrolled.Conventional echocardiographic measurements were obtained,and serial strain echocardiography was performed from admission to hospital discharge until LVEF recovery (> 50%).Global/regional peak systolic longitudinal strains (GLS/RLS) and layer-specific longitudinal strains were quantified,and their changes with time were monitored in 14 FM patients.All patients had severely impaired cardiac function.Steep improvement in LVEF and GLS were observed within 6 days.Layer-specific strain analysis showed that reduction at admission or recovery at discharge in the endocardium and epicardium strains were equal.In conclusion,FM patients who received mechanical circulatory supports exhibited steep improvement in ventricular function within 6 days.The patchy and diffused distribution pattern of reduced RLS and equally and severely impaired strain in the endocardium and epicardium are valuable features in the diagnosis of FM. | Houjuan Zuo Rui Li Fei Ma Jiangang Jiang Kun Miao Haojie Li Eike Nagel Marijana Tadic Hong Wang Dao Wen Wang | 2020 | Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,3: | 10 |

| 14 | Behavior of noncircular tunnels excavated in stratified rock masses-Case of underground coal mines显示文摘The amount of tunnels excavated along stratified/sedimentary rock masses in Quangninh coal mine area,Vietnam, is gradually increasing. Rock mass in Quangninh is characterized by beddings between rock layers. The behavior of stratified rock masses surrounding the tunnels depends on both the intact rock and the beddings between rock layers. The main characteristics of stratified rock masses that need to be considered are their heterogeneity and anisotropy. Depending on the dip angle of rock layers, movements and failure zones developed surrounding the tunnels can be asymmetrical over the vertical axis of tunnel. This asymmetry causes adverse behaviors of the tunnel structures. The objective of this study is to highlight convergences and yielded zones developed in rock masses surrounding noncircular tunnels in Quangninh coal mine area using a finite element method. The presence of bedding joints is explicitly simulated. The numerical results indicated that with the increase in dip angle of bedding joints, the stress asymmetry over the tunnel vertical axis increases. It gradually leads to an asymmetry of the failure zone surrounding the tunnel. An increase of rock mass quality means a decrease of rock mass sensitivity to the discontinuities. | 15 | Role of trivalent antimony in the removal of As, Sb, and Bi impurities from copper electrolytes显示文摘The role of trivalent antimony was investigated in removing As, Sb, and Bi impurities from a copper electrolyte. Purification experiments were carried out by adding a various concentrations of Sb(Ⅲ) ions in a synthetic electrolyte containing 185 g/L sulfuric acid, 45 g/L Cu2+, 10 g/L As, and 0.5 g/L Bi under stirring at 65°C for 2 h. The electrolyte was filtered, and the structure, morphology and composition of the precipitate were analyzed by means of chemical analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and IR spectroscopy. The precipitate is composed of irregular lumps which are agglomerated by fine dendritic and floccus particles, and it mainly consists of As, Sb, Bi, and O elements. Characteristic bands in the IR spectra of the precipitate are As-OX (X=As, Sb, Bi), Sb-OY (Y=Sb, Bi), O-As-O, As-OH, Sb-OH, and O-H. The precipitate is a mixture of microcrystalline SbAsO4, (Sb,As)2O3, and amorphous phases. | 19 | 离子固化剂改性蒙脱土吸附水特性及持水模型研究显示文摘采用不同浓度离子固化剂对天然钙蒙脱土进行改性处理,开展素土与改性土在相对湿度(P/P0)0.01~0.95区间的水汽等温吸—脱附试验,通过持水速率曲线、晶层d001演化曲线及红外光谱特征峰解析蒙脱土吸附水进程中主控因素的演化规律,据此提出水合状态变化的界限相对湿度区间,在此基础上,分别从阳离子水化能和晶层表面水合能角度,建立了离子固化剂改性蒙脱土微观持水方程。试验结果表明:对于钙蒙脱土,在0 200 MPa),蒙脱土持水能力只受控于层间阳离子水化作用,而在中高吸力段(15 MPa<ψ<200 MPa),晶层基面与水之间的分子作用力是影响蒙脱土表面水合能及持水性状的主要因素。在特定吸力范围内,离子固化剂通过改变相应的物化性质参数(阳离子交换量、比表面积)从而弱化蒙脱土持水能力。基于微观水合机制所构建的持水方程能够很好预测本次试验及文献报道的数据结果,不同吸力段的持水模型可量化表征离子固化剂对蒙脱土吸附水性状的调控机理。 | 黄伟 刘清秉 项伟 张云龙 王臻华 DAO Minh Huan | 2019 | 岩土工程学报2019,41,1: | 8 |
| 20 | Floor heave characteristics and control technology of the roadway driven in deep inclined-strata显示文摘Based on in-mine instrumentation and theoretical analysis of the unsymmetrical large-deformation that occurred in the roadway after excavation,Differential Floor Heave(DFH)was found to be the main reason for roadway failure.It needs to be pointed out that the specific roadway was driven in inclined rock strata.In addition,the factors that contribute to the occurrence of DFH are discussed in detail.It is believed that DFH is triggered by the unsymmetrical stress distribution in the floor and the different rock types encountered near the two floor corners.Hence,DFH control should be focused on the left floor corner where shearing failure occurs initially and the left floor surface where tensile failure is more severe.The proposed DFH control strategies include unsymmetrical grouting for the whole roadway,re-design of the roof and ribs support,reinforcement of the weak zones,and release of the concentrated stress in the earlier stage.Meanwhile,it is recommended that in the later stage,both bolts and cable bolts with higher strength and the backfilling technique using the coal measure rocks and concrete should be employed in the reversed-arch floor.The field instrumentation results,after using the proposed control strategies,indicate that large deformation in a DFH roadway has been successfully controlled. | Wang Meng Guo Guanlong Wang Xiangyu Guo Yu Dao Vietdoan | 2015 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2015,25,2: | 7 |
