| 1 | Regulation of the inflammatory cycle by a controllable release hydrogel for eliminating postoperative inflammation after discectomy显示文摘Surgery is the final choice for most patients with intervertebral disc degeneration(IDD).Operation-caused trauma will cause inflammation in the intervertebral disc.Serious inflammation will cause tissue defects and induce tissue degeneration,IDD recurrence and the occurrence of other diseases.Therefore,we proposed a scheme to treat recurrence after discectomy by inhibiting inflammation with an aspirin(ASP)-loaded hydrogel to restore the mechanical stability of the spine and relieve local inflammation.ASP-liposomes(ASP-Lips)were incorporated into a photocrosslinkable gelatin-methacryloyl(GelMA)via mixing.This material can effectively alleviate inflammation by inhibiting the release of high mobility group box 1(HMGB1)from the nucleus to the cytoplasm.We further assessed the expression of inflammatory cytokines,such as interleukin 6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),and degeneration-related factors,such as type II collagen(COL-2),Aggrecan,matrix metallopeptidases-3(MMP-3),MMP-13,a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs-4(ADAMTS-4)and ADAMTS-5 in rat nucleus pulpous cells.The level of IDD was analyzed through H&E,safranin-O staining and immunohistochemistry in rabbit samples.In vitro,we found that ASP-Lip@GelMA treatment significantly decreased inflammatory cytokines,MMP-3 and-13,and ADAMTS-4 and-5 and up-regulated COL-2 and Aggrecan via the inhibited release of HMGB-1 from the nucleus.In vivo,ASP-Lip@GelMA can effectively inhibit inflammation of local tissue after disc surgery and fill local tissue defects.This composite hydrogel system is a promising way to treat the recurrence of IDD after surgery without persistent complications. | Yu Liu Jiacheng Du Peng Peng Ruoyu Cheng Jiayi Lin Congxin Xu Huilin Yang Wenguo Cui Haiqing Mao Yuling Li Dechun Geng | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,1: | 6 |

| 3 | FGF8 signaling sustains progenitor status and multipotency of cranial neural crest-derived mesenchymal cells in vivo and in vitro显示文摘The cranial neural crest(CNC)cells play a vital role in craniofacial development and regeneration.They are multi-potent progenitors,being able to differentiate into various types of tissues.Both pre-migratory and post-migratory CNC cells are plastic,taking on diverse fates by responding to different inductive signals.However,what sustains the multipotency ofCNCcells andderivatives remains largely unknown.In this study,we present evidence that FGF8 signaling is able to sustain progenitor status and multipotency of CNC-derived mesenchymal cells both in vivo and in vitro.We show that augmented FGF8 signaling in pre-migratory CNC cells prevents cell differentiation and organogenesis in the craniofacial region by maintaining their progenitor status.CNC-derived mesenchymal cells with Fgf8 overexpression or control cells in the presence of exogenous FGF8 exhibit prolonged survival,proliferation,and multi-potent differentiation capability in cell cultures.Remarkably,exogenous FGF8 also sustains the capability of CNC-derived mesenchymal cells to participate in organogenesis such as odontogenesis.Furthermore,FGF8-mediated signaling strongly promotes adipogenesis but inhibits osteogenesis of CNC-derived mesenchymal cells in vitro.Our results reveal a specific role for FGF8 in the maintenance of progenitor status and in fate determination of CNC cells,implicating a potential application in expansion and fate manipulation of CNC-derived cells in stem cell-based craniofacial regeneration. | Meiying Shao Chao Liu Yingnan Song Wenduo Ye Wei He Guohua Yuan Shuping Gu Congxin Lin Liang Ma Yanding Zhang Weidong Tian Tao Hu YiPing Chen | 2015 | Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2015,7,5: | 0 |

| 5 | Two dimensional GeO_(2)/MoSi_(2)N_(4)van der Waals heterostructures with robust type-Ⅱ band alignment显示文摘Constructing two-dimensional(2D)van der Waals heterostructures(vdWHs)can expand the electronic and optoelectronic applications of 2D semiconductors.However,the work on the 2D vdWHs with robust band alignment is still scarce.Here,we employ a global structure search approach to construct the vdWHs with monolayer MoSi_(2)N_(4)and widebandgap GeO_(2).The studies show that the GeO_(2)/MoSi_(2)N_(4)vdWHs have the characteristics of direct structures with the band gap of 0.946 eV and typeII band alignment with GeO_(2)and MoSi_(2)N_(4)layers as the conduction band minimum(CBM)and valence band maximum(VBM),respectively.Also,the direct-to-indirect band gap transition can be achieved by applying biaxial strain.In particular,the 2D GeO_(2)/MoSi_(2)N_(4)vdWHs show a robust type-II band alignment under the effects of biaxial strain,interlayer distance and external electric field.The results provide a route to realize the robust type-II band alignment vdWHs,which is helpful for the implementation of optoelectronic nanodevices with stable characteristics. | Xueping Li Peize Yuan Lin Li Ting Liu Chenhai Shen Yurong Jiang Xiaohui Song Congxin Xia | 2023 | Frontiers of physics2023,18,1: | 0 |
