1High-Resolution Genome-wide Association Study Identifies Genomic Regions and Candidate Genes for Important Agronomic Traits in Wheat显示文摘Wheat(Triticum aestivum)is a major staple food crop worldwide.Genetic dissection of important agronomic traits is essential for continuous improvement of wheat yield to meet the demand of the world's growing population.We conducted a large-scale genome-wide association study(GWAS)using a panel of 768 wheat cultivars that were genotyped with 327609 single-nucleotide polymorphisms generated by genotyping-by-sequencing and detected 395 quantitative trait loci(QTLs)for 12 traits under 7 environments.Among them,273 QTLs were delimited to≤1.0-Mb intervals and 7 of them are either known genes(Rht-D,Vrn-B1,and Vrn-D1)that have been cloned or known QTLs(TaGA2ox8,APO1,TaSus1-7B,and Rht12)that were previously mapped.Eight putative candidate genes were identified for three QTLs that enhance spike seed setting and grain size using gene expression data and were validated in three bi-parental populations.Protein sequence analysis identified 33 putative wheat orthologs that have high identity with rice genes in QTLs affecting similar traits.Large r^2 values for additive effects observed among the QTLs for most traits indicated that the phenotypes of these identified QTLs were highly predictable.Results from this study demonstrated that significantly increasing GWAS population size and marker density greatly improves detection and identification of candidate genes underlying a QTL,solidifying the foundation for large-scale QTL fine mapping,candidate gene validation,and developing functional markers for genomics-based breeding in wheat.Yunlong Pang Chunxia Liu Danfeng Wang Paul St.Amand Amy Bernardo Wenhui Li Fang He Linzhi Li Liming Wang Xiufang Yuan Lei Dong Yu Su Huirui Zhang Meng Zhao Yunlong Liangi Hongze Jia Xitong Shen Yue Lu Hongming Jiang Yuye Wu Anfei Li Honggang Wang Lingrang Kong Guihua Bai Shubing Liu 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,9:8
2Template-free synthesis and characterization of K-phillipsite for use in potassium extraction from seawater显示文摘K-phillipsite was prepared using a hydrothermal method.Soluble glass and sodium aluminate were used as raw materials in the absence of an organic template,investigations regarding the K^+ ions were conducted at room temperature to determine the ion-exchange capacity in the seawater sample and the selectivity coefficient of the mixed K^+-Na^+solution.The sample was characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and energy dispersion spectroscopy(EDS).The K^+ ionexchange capacity is 51 mg/g in seawater and the selectivity coefficient is 75.1 in the mixed K^+-Na^+solution.The sample has a selectivity preference for K^+,and therefore can be used to selectively extract potassium from seawater.The sample composed of Si,Al,K,Na,and O exhibits a cross-like shape and is a typical K-phillipsite structure.Jin Hou Junsheng Yuan Jia Xu Yunpeng Fu Chunxia Meng 2013Particuology2013,11,6:3

4Super-assembled sandwich-like Au@MSN@Ag nanomatrices for high-throughput and efficient detection of small biomolecules显示文摘Small biomolecules(m/z<500)are the material basis of organisms and participate in life activities,but their comprehensive and accurate detection in complex samples remains a challenge.Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry(MALDI-MS)is a powerful detection tool for molecular analysis with high throughput.The development of a new matrix is essential to improve the efficiency of the MALDI-MS for molecular compound detection.In this work,the sandwich-like gold nanoparticles@mesoporous silica nanocomposite@silver nanoparticles(Au@MSN@Ag)nanospheres were prepared by layer-by-layer super-assembly strategy,and can be used as a novel matrix for the quantitative detection and enrichment of small biomolecules by LDI-MS.The sandwich-like nanospheres form a unique plasma resonant cavity that effectively absorbs the laser energy,while the homogeneous mesoporous structure of MSN can lock the analyte,which is essential for efficient LDI of small molecules.Compared to traditional matrices,Au@MSN@Ag shows the advantages of low background,wide application range,high sensitivity,super high salt and protein tolerance,and good stability.For example,the detection limit of glucose was as low as 5 fmol,and showed a good linear relationship in the range of 1−750μg/mL.Au@MSN@Ag assisted LDI-MS allows the enrichment and detection of small molecules in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)without derivatization and purification,classification of herbs using the accurate quantitative results oligosaccharides,and identification of gelatin by amino acid content.This research could help in designing more efficient nanostructure matrices and further explored the application of LDI-MS.Dantong Zhao Chunxia Ma Meng Gao Yong Li Bo Yang Hui Li Runhao Zhang Minglu Hao Jing Huang Kang Liang Pu Chen Lei Xie Rong Rong Biao Kong 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:0
5Seasonal dynamics of foliar δ^(13)C and nutrient concentration of Chinese chastetree and spine jujube in foothill rock outcrop habitat of the southern Taihang Mountains, Central China显示文摘In this study, in situ investigation was conducted on Chinese chastetree(Vitex negundo var. heterophylla)and spine jujube(Ziziphus jujuba var. spinosa) during early, developed, and closing succession stages. Monthly data were recorded for foliar δ^(13)C values and foliar N, P,and K concentrations from May to October. Foliar δ^(13)C values declined with time and differences by succession stage varied by species. Older spine jujube displayed higher foliar N concentration while foliar P concentration was inversely related with N. Chinese chastetree had lower foliar K concentration than spine jujube. Foliar C/N ratio declined during the dry season and increased in the wet season. Foliar N/P ratio increased during the dry season and declined to its initial level until October, when it increased again. Foliar δ^(13)C value was positively correlated with foliar N concentration. Foliar P and K concentrations were positively correlated to each other. 7Glutamate-releasing BEST1 channel is a new target for neuroprotection against ischemic stroke with wide time window显示文摘Many efforts have been made to understand excitotoxicity and develop neuroprotectants for the therapy of ischemic stroke.The narrow treatment time window is still to be solved.Given that the ischemic core expanded over days,treatment with an extended time window is anticipated.Bestrophin1(BEST1)belongs to a bestrophin family of calcium-activated chloride channels.We revealed an increase in neuronal BEST1 expression and function within the peri-infarct from 8 to 48 h after ischemic stroke in mice.Interfering the protein expression or inhibiting the channel function of BEST1 by genetic manipulation displayed neuroprotective effects and improved motor functional deficits.Using electrophysiological recordings,we demonstrated that extrasynaptic glutamate release through BEST1 channel resulted in delayed excitotoxicity.Finally,we confirmed the therapeutic efficacy of pharmacological inhibition of BEST1 during 6—72 h post-ischemia in rodents.This delayed treatment prevented the expansion of infarct volume and the exacerbation of neurological functions.Our study identifies the glutamatereleasing BEST1 channel as a potential therapeutic target against ischemic stroke with a wide time window.Shuai Xiong Hui Xiao Meng Sun Yunjie Liu Ling Gao Ke Xu Haiying Liang Nan Jiang Yuhui Lin Lei Chang Haiyin Wu Dongya Zhu Chunxia Luo 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,7:0
8Sources and Transport of Terrigenous Organic Matters Along the East China Sea Inner Shelf: Insights from Lignin and Alkane Biomarkers显示文摘The area of East China Sea(ECS)inner shelf is an important sink of suspended particulates from Yangtze River(YR)and materials originated from YR basin.In this study,the parameters of lignin and alkane biomarkers in surface sediment samples from ECS inner shelf were determined to distinguish the sources and to trace the transport of terrigenous organic matters in the region.Our dataset showed that total alkanes with carbon numbers from 10 to 38(T-alkanes)were significantly correlated to both TAR(terrigenous/aquatic ratio)and HMW/LMW(the ratio of high molecular weight to low molecular weight alkanes)(r=0.88,P<0.05 for both),indicating that the majority of T-alkanes was predominantly originated from terrestrial sources,and T-alkanes are important constituents of terrestrial organic matters in the study area.The area was probably affected by petroleum pollution to a certain degree,as indicated by the values of carbon preference index(CPI),odd-over-even carbon number predominance(OEP)and the ratio of pristane to phytane(Pr/Ph).The values of Pr/n-C_(17) and Ph/n-C_(18) suggested a strong reductive sedimentary condition in the region with no obvious biodegradation.The content of eight lignin phenols(Σ8)decreased from the coast to the open sea,indicative of riverine input and hydrodynamic transport of terrigenous organic matters.Lignin degradation parameters presented an increasing trend from the coastline toward the open sea.The lignin vegetation parameters and alkane index(AI)suggested the predominance of non-woody angiosperms in the YR basin.The obvious correlation betweenΛ8(Σ8 normalized to 100 mg organic carbon),TAR and HMW/LMW reveals the significantly concurrent input of lignin and alkanes from terrestrial sources.LIU Xiaojie HAO Ting FENG Lijuan JI Yinli WANG Qianqian ZHANG Dahai PAN Gang GAO Xianchi MENG Chunxia LI Xianguo 2021Journal of Ocean University of China2021,20,4:0
9Application of sequential extraction for analyzing source and sink of uranium in Huanghe River sediments,China显示文摘Geochemical behaviors of heavy metals are closely related to their chemical state that can be divided by sequential extraction into exchangeable(F1),bound to carbonates(F2),bound to Fe-Mn oxides(F3),bound to organic matter or sulfide(F4),and residual(F5).Uranium in sediment of the Huanghe(Yellow)River,China,in different chemical states was extracted using the five-step procedure of Tessier and the source and sink were analyzed.Results show that more than 70%of the total uranium was immobile residual F5 in abundance,followed in order of F4>F3>F2>F1,indicating that the main source of uranium in the sediments was from weathered rock in the drainage basin.In addition,the uranium in the sediments presents potential exogenous input in the Lanzhou,Baotou,and Tongguan reach.Fe-Mn oxides are main carriers of unstable uranium,especially those of F1 and F3.Calcite and illite are secondary adsorption minerals of unstable uranium in sediments under natural conditions.Human activities can also produce an obvious impact on uranium speciation.This study provides a reference for the application of sequential extraction in analyzing the source and sink of uranium in river sediments.Xihuang ZHONG Xueyan JIANG Huijun HE Wenwen ZHANG Chunxia MENG Feng SUN 2023Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2023,41,3:0
10Trace element and sulfur isotope compositions of pyrite from the Tianqiao Zn–Pb–Ag deposit in Guizhou province,SW China:implication for the origin of ore-forming fluids显示文摘The Tianqiao Zn–Pb–Ag deposit in SW China,hosted by Devonian and Carboniferous limestone and clay rocks,is composed of sulfides such as sphalerite,galena,and pyrite.Pyrite is present in different paragenetic stages and can be divided into four types based on textures and mineral assemblages.Pyrite from the adjacent Shanshulin deposit(Py-SSL)is also used for comparison.Py1 shows framboid texture with grain diameter up to 1 mm and was commonly replaced by sphalerite.Py2 is characterized by overgrowth texture and displays inner oscillatory zoning.Py2 is associated with abundant sphalerite and galena.Py3 shows replacement relics textures where galena fills the fractures of pyrite.Py4 is a euhedral to subhedral crystal disseminated in dolomite and is characterized by deformation and fragmentation textures.Minor sphalerite and galena are associated with Py4.Py-SSL is subhedral and disseminated in dolomite,similar to Py4.Py1 was formed by a diagenetic or sedimentary process,whereas Py2 and Py3 were formed by multiple stages of ore fluids.Py4 and Py-SSL were formed at the carbonate-sulfide stage,but Py4 suffered from deformation after its formation.Py1,Py2,and Py3 are characterized by relative enrichment of Sb,Cu,and As,in contrast to Py4 and Py-SSL with higher Cr,W,Ge,Sn,Tl,Ni,and Ga contents.However,critical metals such as Ge,Ga,and In in pyrite are generally lower than10 ppm,which are not economically important.The trace element variation in Tianqiao pyrite with paragenesis results from fluid evolution in the Pb–Zn ore system and competition with co-precipitating minerals.Diagenetic and ore-forming hydrothermal fluids are responsible for the formation of different types of pyrite.Ore-related pyrite from the Tianqiao and Shanshulin deposits has Co and Ni distribution features similar to pyrite from sedimentary pyrite and submarine hydrothermal vents,different from those in volcanogenic massive sulfide,iron oxide-copper–gold,and porphyry Cu deposits,indicating their derivation of relatively low-temperature(<~250°C)hydrothermal fluids,similar to basin brines or seawater.,via fluid-rock interaction.This conclusion is also supported by the sulfur isotope composition of sulfides which are 13.0–13.5%,and 15.6–20.5%for Tianqiao and Shanshulin deposits,respectively.Yumiao Meng Xiaowen Huang Chunxia Xu Songning Meng 2022Acta Geochimica2022,41,2:0
