| 1 | Prolonged manganese exposure induces severe deficits in lifespan,development and reproduction possibly by altering oxidative stress response in Caenorhabditis elegans显示文摘We examined the possible multiple defects induced by acute and prolonged exposure to high levels of manganese(Mn) solution by monitoring the endpoints of lifespan,development,reproduction,and stress response.Our data suggest that acute exposure(6 h) to Mn did not cause severe defects of life span,development,and reproduction,similarly,no significant defect could be found in animals exposed to a low concentration of Mn(2.5 μmol/L) for 48 h.In contrast,prolonged exposure(48 h) to high Mn concentrations(75 and 200 μmol/L) resulted in significant defects of life span,development,and reproduction,as well as the increase of the percentage of population with hsp-16.2::gfp expression indicating the obvious induction of stress responses in exposed animals.Moreover,prolonged exposure(48 h) to high concentrations(75 and 200 μmol/L) of Mn decreased the expression levels of antioxidant genes of sod-1,sod-2,sod-3,and sod-4 compared to control.Therefore,prolonged exposure to high concentrations of Mn will induce the severe defects of life span,development,and reproduction in nematodes possibly by affecting the stress response and expression of antioxidant genes in Caenorhabditis elegans. | XIAO Jing | 2009 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,6: | 13 |

| 4 | Correlation between Serum Level of Adiponectin and Severity of Coronary Artery Atherosclerosis显示文摘Objectives To investigate the correlation between serum level of adiponectin and severity of coronary artery atherosclerosis. Methods Coronary angiographies were performed and serum levels of adiponectin were measured in 88 patients with suspected coronary heart disease (CHD). Patients were divided into groups according to the coronary angiographies and Gensini's scores of coronary artery atherosclerosis. The serum levels of adiponectin were compared in different groups, and multiple regressions were used to analyze the correlation factors of adiponectin. Results ①Serum adiponectin concentration in CHD group [7.1 mg/L(2.4~21.1 mg/L)] was decreased as compared with that in control group [11.6 mg/L(4.4~28.2 mg/L), P<0.01]; ②The serum levels of adiponectin fell while the Gensini’s scores of coronary artery atherosclerosis increased (P<0.05, P<0.01); ③Serum level of adiponectin was positively correlated with the high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, while negatively correlated with the Gensini’s score of coronary artery atherosclerosis and triglyceride (P<0.01). Conclusions Serum adiponectin concentration was decreased in patients with CHD. Low serum levels of adiponectin reflected the severity of coronary artery atherosclerosis. | 5 | Expression and role of PTV1 lncRNA in glioma cells progression显示文摘Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of PTV1 lncRNA in gliomas and themechanism of its interaction with miR-203a.Methods U87 and U251 cells were cultured stably and transfected with sh-PTV1 or ov-PTV1, respectively.The proliferative activity of U87 and U251 cells was detected and the transplanted tumor model nude micewere divided into U87 and U251 groups. U87-sh and u251-ov cells were injected into the armpit, thenmiR-203a mic and miR-203a inhibitors were administered to detect the changes in the expression of tumorrelatedproteins.Results The relative expression of PTV1 in gliomas was significantly higher than that in normal braintissues, while in GBM it was significantly higher than that in low-grade gliomas. Knockdown of PTV1significantly inhibited the proliferation of U87 cells, resulting in fewer cell clones;overexpression of rPTV1significantly promoted the proliferation of U251 cells, resulting in more cell colonies. The dual LuciferaseReporter assay showed that SP2 was a potential target of miR-203a. When U87 cells were treated with amiR-203a mimic, the expression of SP2 decreased;and when U251 cells were treated with a miR-203ainhibitor, the expression of SP2 increased significantly. SP2 was overexpressed in u87-sh cells and theproliferation, migration, and invasion of u87-sh cells were significantly enhanced. U251-ov cells showedthe opposite trend. Compared with the control group mice, the tumor volume in u87-sh group mice wassignificantly smaller and the positive rate of SP2 in tumor tissue was significantly lower. | 7 | Outcomes of patients awaiting lung transplantation after the implementation of donation after brain death at a single Chinese center显示文摘oluntary contribution has become the only source of donor lungs in China since 2015.To elaborate the outcomes of patients awaiting lung transplantation(LTx)after the implementation of donation after brain death,we performed a retrospective study that encompassed 205 patients with end-stage lung disease who registered for LTx at Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital from January 1,2015 to January 1,2021.A total of 180 patients were enrolled in the study.The median waiting time was 1.25 months.Interstitial lung disease(ILD)(103/180,57.2%)and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)(56/180,31.1%)were the most common diseases in our study population.The mean pulmonary artery pressure(mPAP)of patients in the died-waiting group was higher than that of the survivors(53.29+21.71 mmHg vs.42.11+18.58 mmHg,P-0.002).The mortality of patients with ILD(34/103,33.00%)was nearly twice that of patients with COPD(10/56,17.86%)while awaiting LTx(P-0.041).In the died-waiting group,patients with ILD had a shorter median waiting time than patients with COPD after being listed(0.865 months vs.4.720 months,P-0.030).ILD as primary disease and mPAP>35 mmHg were two significant independent risk factors for waitlist mortality,with hazard ratios(HR)of 3.483(95%CI 1.311-9.111;P-0.011)and 3.500(95%CI 1.435-8.536;P=0.006).Hence,LTx is more urgently needed in patients with ILD and pulmonary hypertension. | Yuling Yang Xinnan Xu Ming Liu Yanfeng Zhao Yongmei Yu Xiaogang Liu Chang Chen Gening Jiang Wenxin He | 2022 | Frontiers of Medicine2022,16,5: | 0 |
