| 2 | Diabetes mellitus and Parkinson's disease:dangerous liaisons between insulin and dopamine显示文摘The relationship between diabetes mellitus and Parkinson's disease has been described in several epidemiological studies over the 1960 s to date.Molecular studies have shown the possible functional link between insulin and dopamine,as there is strong evidence demonstrating the action of dopamine in pancreatic islets,as well as the insulin effects on feeding and cognition through central nervous system mechanism,largely independent of glucose utilization.Therapies used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus appear to be promising candidates for symptomatic and/or disease-modifying action in neurodegenerative diseases including Parkinson's disease,while an old dopamine agonist,bromocriptine,has been repositioned for the type 2 diabetes mellitus treatment.This review will aim at reappraising the different studies that have highlighted the dangerous liaisons between diabetes mellitus and Parkinson's disease. | Angela De Iuliis Ennio Montinaro Giuseppe Fatati Mario Plebani Carlo Colosimo | 2022 | Neural Regeneration Research2022，17，3： | 3 |

| 4 | Hypofractionated and Low Dose Radiotherapy Combined with Temozolomide in Naive Unresectable Glioblastoma:A Pilot Study显示文摘Background/Aim: To assess safety of hypo-fractionated radiotherapy( HyRT) followed by low dose radiation therapy( LD-FRT) plus Temozolomide( TMZ) in naive unresectable Glioblastoma. Methods: Patients( ECOG < 2,age > 18) undergone to biopsy or with gross residual tumor after surgery were enrolled. HyRT( 30 Gy in ten fraction) plus TMZ was administered. From the second adjuvant cycle of TMZ,patients received LD-FRT( 0. 40 Gy twice daily over 5 days,every 28 days) for two cycles. The primary endpoints were safety and toxicity. Moreover we analyzed response,overall survival( OS) and progression-free survival( PFS). Results: Twenty patients were enrolled. Median dose of LD-FRT was 12 Gy. All toxicities were reversible. Four out of 20 patients had Partial Response( PR)and 6 experienced a stable disease( SD). Median OS and PFS were 14 and 11 months,respectively.Conclusions: HyRT followed by LD-FRT plus TMZ is safe and shows good clinical outcomes. | 5 | Bile acids as drivers and biomarkers of hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘The prevalence of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is rapidly increasing,driven not least in part by the escalating prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.Bile acid(BA)profiles are altered in patients with HCC and there is a developing body of evidence from in vitro human cellular models as well as rodent data suggesting that BA are able to modulate fundamental processes that impact on cellular phenotype predisposing to the development of HCC including senescence,proliferation and epithelial-mesenchymal transition.Changes in BA profiles associated with HCC have the potential to be exploited clinically.Whilst excellent diagnostic and imaging tools are available,their use to screen populations with advanced liver disease at risk of HCC is limited by high cost and low availability.The mainstay for HCC screening among subjects with cirrhosis remains frequent interval ultrasound scanning.Importantly,currently available serum biomarkers add little to diagnostic accuracy.Here,we review the current literature on the use of BA measurements as predictors of HCC incidence in addition to their use as a potential screening method for the early detection of HCC.Whilst these approaches do show early promise,there are limitations including the relatively small cohort sizes,the lack of a standardized approach to BA measurement,and the use of inappropriate control comparator samples. | Santo Colosimo Jeremy W Tomlinson | 2022 | World Journal of Hepatology2022，14，9： | 2 |
