| 1 | Modulation on flow field by solid particles in gas-solid two-phase turbulent free shear flows显示文摘In order to understand the interaction between fluid and particles, a two-way coupled three-dimensional mixing layer laden with particles at a Stokes number of 5 with different mass loadings is numerically studied. The pseudospectral method is used for the flow fluid and the Lagrangian approach is used to trace particles. The concept of computational particles is introduced to vary the mass loading of particles. The momentum coupling effect introduced by a particle is approximated to the point force. The simulation results show that the coherent structures are still dominant in the mixing layer, but the flow field is modulated by particles. The addition of the particles enhances the energy of all the Fourier modes with non-zero spanwise wavenumber, and the enhancement increases with the augment of the mass loading. A higher mass loading results in a lower energy at fundamental wavenumber and streamwise subharmonic Fourier mode of the fluid in the phase of Kelvin-Helmholtz rolling up, but for large-scale vortex structures pairing, the energy of the fluid increases as the mass loading increases. Similar trends can also be found in the developments of the turbulent kinetic energy and the momentum thickness. | LUOKun FANJianren JINHanhui CENKefa | 2003 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2003,13,3: | 2 |
| 2 | Direct numerical simulation of a particle-laden weak-shearing plane jet显示文摘Direct numerical simulation (DNS) has been utilized to solve numerically a two dimensional compressible weak shearing plane jet, in which the jet exit velocity and the co flow velocity are in the same magnitude (2∶1 in this paper). We also use the one way coupling method to simulate the dispersion behaviors of solid particles in various representative sizes, i.e. St =0.01, 1, 10, 100, where St is the Stokes number. We get a vorticity field with fully varicose (symmetrical) modes and the entire precise processes of the rolling up of one spanwise vortex, the pairing of two vortexes and the mixing of three vortexes. The mean longitudinal velocity ( U ) profile compares well against the experimental results. The Reynolds stress profile looks special due to the symmetrical vorticity field. The particles whose St =0.01 reproduce the vortex structures in detail, and the ones of St =1 exhibit interesting self organized behaviors and possess the most non uniform concentration field. They disperse uniformly around the single and pairing vortex kernels, while a few of them are arranged almost in a straight line in the center region of the paring vortexes, which is caused by the contribution of the border of two vortexes in the pairing process. St =10 and 100 can be treated as large particles, on which the flow field has few impacts. | XIAJun HUGuilin FANJianren CENKefa | 2004 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2004,14,3: | 1 |

| 5 | Removal of NO_x by radical injection显示文摘Removal of NOx ( DeNOx, NOx is the total of NO and NO2) from flue gas by radical injection has been investigated . The discharge characteristics were examined and the steady streamer corona was acquired by adjusting the nozzle gases properly. It was found that an increase in the voltage resulted in a decrease in the NO concentration and the concentration of the NO2 increased at low voltages but decreased as the voltage rose to a certain level. The DeNOx efficiency increased as the applied voltage rose and reached a maximum of 70% when the voltage approached the break-down voltage. The hypothetical mechanism of NOx removal suggested that the radicals formed in the discharge process converted the NO and NO2 into acidic species. The Monte Carlo method was used to calculate the rate coefficients and the productivity of the radicals, and then the concentrations of both NO and NO2 and the DeNOx efficiencies were calcu-lated with chemical kinetics. The calculated DeNOx efficien-cies were comparable with the experimental DeNOx efficien-cies at low voltages, but were lower at high voltages. | LINHe GAOXiang LUOZhongyang CENKefa PEIMeixiang HUANGZhen | 2004 | Chinese Science Bulletin2004,49,18: | 0 |
| 6 | DNS of the turbulence modulation by dispersed particles in compressible spatially developing two-phase jets显示文摘A new two way coupled direct numerical simulation (DNS) method is developed to study the turbulence modulation in the compressible and spatial developing particle laden turbulent jets with higher Reynolds number. The high resolution solver is performed for the gas phase flow field and the Lagrangian method is used to trace particles. It is found that the particles with Stokes number of 0.01 and 50 advance the evolution of the coherent structures in the flow field, but the particles with Stokes number of 1 delay it. All particles increase the turbulent kinetic energy and decrease the vorticity thickness, in which the particles with the Stokes number of 1 exhibit the maximum modulation. The jet velocity half width and the decay of the streamwise mean velocity along the centerline are reduced by particles with Stokes number of 0.01 and 1. The momentum thickness is increased by particles and the larger the Stokes number is, the larger the momentum thickness is. | LUOKun FANJianren CENKefa | 2004 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2004,14,9: | 0 |
