1Formation and evolution mechanisms of large-clusters during rapid solidification process of liquid metal Al显示文摘A molecular dynamics simulation study has been performed for the formation and evolution characteristics of nano-clusters in a large-scale system consisting of 400000 atoms of liquid metal Al. The center-atom method combined with pair-bond analysis technique and cluster-type index method (CTIM) has been applied here to describe the structural configurations of various basic clusters. It is demonstrated that both the 1551 bond-type and the icosahedral cluster (12 0 12 0) constructed by 1551 bond-types are dominant among all the bond-types and cluster-types, respectively, in the system and play a critical role in the microstructure transitions of liquid metal Al. The nano-clusters (containing up to 150 atoms) are formed by the combination of some middle and small clusters with distinctly different sizes, through mutual competition by unceasing annex and evolution in a seesaw manner (in turn of obtaining and losing),which do not occur as the multi-shell structures accumulated with an atom as the center and the surrounding atoms are arranged according to a certain rule. This is the essential distinction of nano-cluster in liquid metal from those obtained by gaseous deposition, ionic spray methods, and so on. 2Utilization of Coal Fly Ash for the Production of Glass-ceramics With Unique Performances: A Brief Review显示文摘Coal fly ash is an industrial by-product generated during the combustion of coal for energy production. Due to the increasing annual consumption of coal power and the serious potential environmental threats of coal fly ash, a considerable amount of research on the utilization of coal fly ash has been undertaken worldwide. Vitrification seems to be one of the most promising options for reusing this industrial waste. This paper presents a short overview of the production of unique high performance glass-ceramics using coal fly ash as a raw material. A detailed description of the methodologies for the synthesis of glass-ceramics from coal fly ash and the principal crystal phases, corresponding property and possible usage of those materials are introduced. Investigations revealed that converting coal fly ash into high performance glass-ceramic materials is a promising new approach to improve the utilization of this industrial by-product. 4Measurement-device-independent quantum secret sharing and quantum conference based on Gaussian cluster state显示文摘Cluster state is the basic resource for one-way quantum computation and a valuable resource for establishing quantum network, because it has a flexible and varied composition form. We present measurement-device-independent quantum secret sharing(QSS) and quantum conference(QC) schemes based on continuous variable(CV) four-mode cluster state with different structures. The users of the protocol prepare their own Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen(EPR) states, respectively. One mode of these EPR states is sent to an untrusted relay where a generalized Bell measurement creates different types of CV cluster states among four users, while the other mode is kept at their own station. We show that a shared secret key for QSS and QC schemes is distilled based on the shared quantum correlation among four users. QC and four users QSS are implemented based on the star shape CV cluster state. QSS with three users are implemented based on the linear or square shape CV cluster states. The results show that the secure transmission distance for an asymmetric network, where the transmission distances between the users and relay are different, is longer than that of a symmetric network, where the transmission distances between the users and relay are the same. 5Simulation study for atomic size and alloying effects during forming processes of amorphous alloys显示文摘A molecular dynamics (MD) simulation study has been performed for the solidification processes of two binary liquid alloys Ag6Cu4 and CuNi by adopting the quantum Sutton-Chen many-body potentials. By analyzing bond-types, it is demonstrated that at the cooling rate of 21012K/s, the CuNi forms fcc crystal structures, while the Ag6Cu4 forms amorphous structures. The original reason is that the atomic radius ratio (1.13) of the CuAg is bigger than that (1.025) of the CuNi. This shows that the atomic size difference is indeed the main factor for forming amorphous alloys. Moreover, for Ag60Cu40, corresponding to the deep eutectic point in the phase diagram, it forms amorphous structure easily. This confirms that as to the forming tendency and stability of amorphous alloys, the alloying effect plays a key role. 6A Novel Method for Measuring the Coarse Water Droplets in Wet Steam Flow in Steam Turbines显示文摘Some optical probes based on light extinction have been developed to measure wetness dominated with fine droplets in steam turbine. However, coarse water droplets (hereafter referred to as CWD) that are the main cause of erosion of blade and of wetness loss of steam turbine can’t be detected by the extinction probes because of its large size. 7Research of the multi-way connectivity probability for platoon-based vehicle-to-infrastructure communication network显示文摘Vehicles travelling as platoons can reduce the huge traffic jams on the highway. Platoon members can share vehicle information such as speed and acceleration via vehicular ad hoc networks(VANETs) communication to maintain a constant inter-vehicle and inter-platoon distances. However, connectivity is a fundamental measurement to indicate the linking quality of VANETs. This paper analyzes the access and connectivity probability between the vehicles and the road side units(RSUs) of the multi-way platoon-based VANETs with roadside infrastructure. We denote the connectivity probability as the probability that the vehicles on the highway can access to at least one RSU besides the road within a designated number of hops. Moreover, besides considering the connection on the same road, we study the connection between the vehicles and the RSU via vehicles on the nearby neighbor roads. The analytical results have been validated by simulations and results show that the connectivity probability can be improved when there are platoons in a network. Meanwhile, the connectivity probability is higher in the multi-way vehicle-to-infrastructure(V2I) communication network than that in a one-way V2 I communication network. The results in this paper can help to reduce the jams on the highway and achieve intelligent driving. Then the safety and comfort of the drivers and passengers on the highway can be improved. 8Exogenous glutamic acid effectively involved in N-(1-deoxy-D-galulos-1-yl)-glutamic acid degradation for simultaneous improvement of both milk-like and baking flavor显示文摘This research elucidated the reason of flavor deficiency during the thermal degradation of glutamic acid(Glu)-galactose(Gal)Amadori rearrangement product(GG-ARP)and the solution.The flavor formation from GG-ARP during the thermal degradation was investigated.Compared to the volatile compounds in Glu-Gal Maillard reaction products(GG-MRP),pyrazines in the volatile compounds derived from GG-ARP were restrained.The disadvantage in evolution asynchrony and content sufficiency ofα-dicarbonyl compounds and Glu in the GG-ARP model limited the pyrazines formation.With the addition of Gal,the asynchronous effect was further exacerbated,and the furans in the GG-ARP-Gal model(956.81μg/L,120℃,60 min)were more significantly dominant among the volatile flavor compounds than in the GG-ARP model(454.98μg/L,120℃,60 min),while the pyrazines were still missing.Whereas,the extra-added Glu in the GG-ARP model could offset the deficiency of amino acids growth afterα-dicarbonyl formation and promote the formation of pyrazines(74.47μg/L,120℃,60 min).Meanwhile,the formation of diketones(92.96μg/L,120℃,60 min)was promoted.The addition of Glu enhanced both milk-like and baking flavor of the GG-ARP system simultaneously.Formulated GG-ARP-Glu mixture was proposed to promisingly achieve the controlled formation of process flavors for baked foods with both desirable milk-like and baking scent.Caixing Pan Heping Cui Khizar Hayat Xiaoming Zhang Chi-Tang Ho 2022Food Bioscience2022,47,3:1

17Structure stability and configuration evolution of Al_n(n=3, 4, 6, 13, 19) clusters显示文摘Using a first-principles pseudo-potential plane wave method, the geometrical and electronic structures of Aln (n=3, 4, 6, 13, 19) clusters with different configurations have been calculated. Several parameters such as the binding energy Eb and the HOMO-LUMO energy gap ?EH-L have been adopted to characterize and analyze the structure stability of these clusters, and their configuration evolutions are also investigated by linear synchronous transit (LST) method. It is demonstrated that the stable configura- tions of Al3, Al4, Al6, Al13, Al19 clusters are triangle, rhombus, octahedron, icosahedron and double icosahedron, respectively. For Al6 and Al19 clusters there are metastable structures of parallelogram and octahedron, respectively, whereas in the Al3, Al4 and Al13 clusters, no metastable configuration is validated. There exist a large energy gap and a low energy barrier between the octahedron and the parallelogram of the Al6 cluster, so the transfor- mation from its metastable to stable structures is rather easy. By contrast, a small energy gap and a high energy barrier between the stable and metastable structures of Al19 cluster mean its configuration evolution from the octahedron to the double icosahedron occurs hardly, therefore the metastable octahedron configuration of Al19 cluster can be extensively detected in experiments and simulations.PENG Ping LI Guifa ZHENG Caixing HAN Shaochang LIU Rangsu 2006Science China(Technological Sciences)2006,49,4:1
