6Theoretical analysis of Bloch mode propagation in an integrated chain of gold nanowires显示文摘The eigenmodes analysis of Bloch modes in a chain of metallic nanowires(MNWs)provides a significant physical understanding about the light propagation phenomena involved in such structures.However,most of these analyses have been done above the light line in the dispersion relation,where the Bloch modes can only be excited with radiative modes.By making use of the Fourier modal method,in this paper we rigorously calculate the eigenmode and mode excitation of a chain of MNWs via the fundamental transverse magnetic(TM)mode of a dielectric waveguide.Quadrupolar and dipolar transversal Bloch modes were obtained in an MNW chain embedded in a dielectric material.These modes can be coupled efficiently with the fundamental TM mode of the waveguide.Since the eigenmodes supported by the integrated plasmonic structure exhibit strong localized surface plasmon(LSP)resonances,they could serve as a nanodevice for sensing applications.Also,the analysis opens a direction for novel nanostructures,potentially helpful for the efficient excitation of LSPs and strong field enhancement.Ricardo Tellez-Limon Mickael Fevrier Aniello Apuzzo Rafael Salas-Montiel Sylvain Blaize 2014Photonics Research2014,2,1:1

12Standing-wave spectrometry in silicon nano-waveguides using reflection-based near-field scanning optical microscopy显示文摘Utilizing reflection-based near-field scanning optical microscopy(NSOM) to image and analyze standing-wave patterns, we present a characterization technique potentially suitable for complex photonic integrated circuits. By raster scanning along the axis of a straight nano-waveguide in tapping mode and sweeping wavelength, detailed information of propagating waves in that waveguide has been extracted from analyses in both space and wavelength domains. Our technique needs no special steps for phase stabilization, thus allowing long-duration and environment-insensitive measurements. As a proof-of-concept test, in a silicon single-mode waveguide with a few of etched holes, the locations and reflection strengths of the inner defects have been quantified. The measurement uncertainty of the reflection amplitude is less than 25% at current stage. 13Towards the integration of nanoemitters by direct laser writing on optical glass waveguides显示文摘A major challenge towards nanophotonics is the integration of nanoemitters on optical chips.Combining the optical properties of nanoemitters with the benefits of integration and scalability of integrated optics is still a major issue to overcome.In this work,we demonstrate the integration of nanoemitters positioned in a controlled manner onto a substrate and onto an optical ion-exchanged glass waveguide via direct laser writing based on twophoton polymerization.Our nanoemitters are colloidal CdSe/ZnS quantum dots(QDs)embedded in polymeric nanostructures.By varying the laser parameters during the patterning process,we make size-controlled QDpolymer nanostructures that were systematically characterized using optical and structural methods.Structures as small as 17 nm in height were fabricated.The well-controlled QD-polymer nanostructure systems were then successfully integrated onto a new photonic platform for nanophotonics made of an ion-exchanged waveguide.We show that our QDs maintain their light emitting quality after integration as verified by photoluminescence(PL)measurements.Ultimately,QD emission coupled to our waveguides is detected through a home-built fiber-edge coupling PL measurement setup.Our results show the potential for future integration of nanoemitters onto complex photonic chips.XIAOLUN XU AURÉLIE BROUSSIER TIZIANA RITACCO MACKRINE NAHRA FABIEN GEOFFRAY ALI ISSA SAFI JRADI RENAUD BACHELOT CHRISTOPHE COUTEAU AND SYLVAIN BLAIZE 2020Photonics Research2020,8,9:0
